today's auntie duties involved

1) carrying and walk-training with a 12 kg baby for like 30 minutes

2) rummaging through moving boxes to find the dollhouse my mom bought the 3yo for christmas

3) assembling the dollhouse (while the 3 year old wants to help and the 10 month old wants to be on top of his big sister and my mom with the undiagnosed adhd tries to follow my directions and hold the pieces together while the 3yo handles the screwdriver)

3 ) reading half a dozen library books at least 3 times each

#i am soO o O grateful to my brother and sil for raising children in an ipad free home #that girl will read and draw and play pretend and ride her little push bike and 'climb' and use the outdoor gym #and will never know an alternate childhood #my sil asked my brother 'do we want a clock on the wall' and i said 'yes bc kids nowadays can't tell time'#and she went 'no?!? okay. we need to put some clocks up'#i love that woman #The Search for the Giant Arctic Jellyfish was my fave book i read today #apart from pettson & the pancake cake but that's a classic so it can't compete #there's always a new batch of library books to get through when i arrive
