if you were wondering what were the most common spices in 1910's albacete, they were cinammon and clove
#my great grandpa is now writing about what did they eat. with prices and everything#he keeps going on about how the bread was getting more and more expensive#earlier he talked about how a mob actually stormed the city hall because of that (the mayor had a flour factory) and a policeman killed#an orphan boy (???) i'm hoping he goes back to that later cause he just stopped talking about that and went back to listing games he played#as a kid#apart from bread they ate oranges (there were specific street vendors that brought them from valencia)#and then some flour and sugar to make porridge#anyways. i thought paprika would be more common than cinammon ??? as it is nowadays cultivated in the area ??#my grandma was born in the same city and adds paprika to everything
