Hear me out…Yandere Titan Shifters with Sacrificial Bride?

Every year when a New Titan Appears its custom to for said Titan to pick out their ‘Bride’ and take them away (The term ‘Bride’ is used loosely as they have no idea what these Titan’s do with their chosen, but it’s believed they get eaten) doing so results in the Humans from being attacked, pillaged and devoured by other Titans

This time it’s Reiner’s Turn as he comes back to collect Reader

Sure! The AU was a bit vague but I'll see what I can do for it! ^^ This isn't going to be exactly like AOT obviously, it'll be different.

(Sacrificial Bride AU)

It was distressing to learn Reiner was outed as a new Titan.

It's a customary ritual in your home.

Eventually, whenever someone awakens Titan powers, they are sent out of civilization to stay with other Titan Shifters.

No one knows how Titans are chosen.

It's seemingly random... The affected person being banished from society.

This typically results in Titan Shifters living in colonies away from other humans.

As expected, when this problem first began, Titan Shifters often came back to cause havoc on the community that abandoned them.

In response to such an issue, the 'Sacrificial Spouse' plan arose.

Every year, a new Titan is sent to the village they originated from to pick a partner as a sacrifice.

Be they a bride or groom... the village offers them up to the Titan.

No one knows what happens to said chosen spouses...

But many think of the worst.

Years ago you learned Reiner was outed as a Titan... known as the Armored Titan.

You were devastated when he had to leave, you and Reiner were so close in your youth.

Best friends, actually.

Perhaps even crushes.

Reiner didn't want to let you go.

Why would he?

He loved you...

The people of your home nearly had to pry him off you.

Many already feared him for his strength, often remarking he never fit in.

You, on the other hand, always seemed to coddle him in response.

You two did everything together, growing up together since you two were children.

It's not like either of you would've known he'd be a Titan.

Some suspected he would be due to his strong build.

Yet there was no way to tell.

Not until you heard the roar of a Titan and saw the large armored beast itself.

Reiner appeared mortified after the others caught him, his skin steaming.

Even more so when you looked at him with pity.

Reiner had always had dreams of you two being together.

You probably didn't know, but he thought of it often.

He thought of asking you to be his girlfriend... He thought of some day proposing to you...

He thought of making you his wife.

Being cast out of the one place he called home as tradition devastated Reiner.

It ruined his hopes and dreams.

He wasn't human... so he had to pay for it.

You were there to see him go.

In fact, you were probably the only one who clung to him with a hug before he was carted off.

In hindsight you should've known you'd see Reiner again due to your bond.

Eventually Reiner would come back, all Titan Shifters do when their time comes.

You felt both excited yet dreadful when you saw the Armored Titan come back.

The typical negotiations would be set...

In exchange for not attacking humanity... Reiner would be given a sacrifice.

It's easy to feel intimidated in front of the large Titan.

He easily towers over the tallest buildings in your home easily.

When you see those pale white eyes scan the surroundings, you know it's Reiner.

You should've expected him to point at you with a large finger, choosing you as his sacrifice.

When he does, you feel a bit of betrayal but knew this would happen.

After all, no one knew what Titans did to their sacrifice.

Despite all you two did with one another...

You still feared being eaten.

When you're pushed forward, the large Titan looks down silently.

Only for it to put its hand down for you to crawl onto.

Reluctantly, you do... looking back at the place you once called home with longing.

This is where your new life would begin.

The carry back is long, the Armored Titan carrying you silently.

Despite this, the carry is gentle.

The Titan, Reiner, carries you as though you're fragile.

Which is true... considering his strength even now.

I imagine the Titan Shifter civilization has grown over the years despite the limited members. (No Marley in this AU)

Reiner is careful when he puts you down and swaps to his human form.

He mostly looks the same from when you last saw him.

Except... He certainly seems more relieved if not a little nervous.

This may not exactly be Reiner's dream...

But it's close enough.

After all, by sacrifice you two are married.

Which means... you're his bride.

Even if it isn't traditional... you're still together.

He's never been happier.

Even when you look fearful and hesitant, Reiner can't help but hug you tightly.

He's still steaming, his skin hot to the touch as he holds you close.

You can barely listen to his words when he speaks, how he explains he has a house for the both of you... how he's missed you so much...

You're too overwhelmed to process it all.

Yet you have to all the same.

Reiner would no doubt treat you like nothing's changed.

He doesn't bring up the Titan thing much at first.

He just treats you like his wife, sleeping beside you and showering you in affection.

You may be unhappy... but Reiner thinks you'll grow used to it.

He's possessive of you... Insisting he buys you a ring.

Maybe even one that contains some parts from his Titan, just to show he claims you even more.

He doesn't trust you around other shifters much, no doubt due to the rumors of them eating their sacrifice.

Reiner would never do such a thing.

Although he does try to get used to his Titan form.

He spends time taking you out of the settlement border and swapping to his Titan form.

He wants you comfortable, often holding you or sitting you on his shoulder.

Most of the time he'll just sit down and hold you eye level, encouraging you to just rant or speak to him as he listens.

Reiner is an attentive husband, even if he seems insecure at times.

While intimidating to all, Reiner never wants you to fear him.

He's patient, just happy to have you by his side again after so long.

He won't press for much...

He just wants you to stay in the home you two have together.

Others are usually quite nice to you since Reiner's Titan is important, a shield for the community.

Best they don't piss him off.

Reiner definitely fears losing you.

Even at night you can feel him hold you close to him.

At first it feels threatening...

But his naturally high body heat ends up feeling quite soothing after a while.

Reiner is protective of you.

Sometimes humans will come to their settlement to cause trouble.

Although, it's guaranteed if anyone hurt you that Reiner would remove them.

I would not be surprised if you caught Reiner eating someone who threatened you.

It almost feels... feral to you.

Reiner is a strong beast and warrior, one capable of fighting.

Despite it all... He'd never hurt his bride.

He's always loved you since you were both small.

He may be a beast now... yet that love has never changed.

In fact, now it's only strengthened.

After all, your previous home may have cast him out... but they also gave him you.

That's why he never understands why you want to return home at times.

They cast you out... deserted you like they did to him.

It's not like you could return anyways.

Reiner would find you... even if you did get back, they'd abandon you for fear of their destruction.

Your real home is here, right beside him as his wife...

He'll love you as no one else will.

i shifted last night for the first time in 2 years. . .

📌 — QUICK RUNDOWN OF MY SHIFTING JOURNEY

umm so i started on shifttok ( unfortunately) back in like november of 2021, i was shifting to naruto. during like 2021-2022 i had experienced a lot of shifts, ranging from weird realities i didn’t plan on going to, only being there for a few moments, not realizing i was there even though i was there for over an hour, and literally shifting while doing dishes. 🧍

sometime in like the summer of 2022 i stopped shifting doing to being in a relationship with this really cringy dude… who like thought i would disappear out of thin air… if i shifted… ( and some shifttok drama that i got brought into, that’s a whole other story if you wanna hear that, the rundown is i got randomly outcasted bc i had BPD and autistic traits ( literally what they said ) ) yeah not my finer moment. anyways, i also just lost a lot of motivation for it. i still hated this reality but i don’t know, shifting just, idk. it took me just a few months ago to realize that the shifttok mean girls who outcasted me, made me feel like i didn’t deserve to shift in some way. ( when i realized that, i realized how fucking stupid that was )

and so i’ve been really reevaluating my journey, spent a lot of time of shiftblr instead of shifttok, even started my own discord to get rid of misinfo!!! which by the way shiftblr has helped me change my mindset SO MUCH! like i’ve been literally a ghost on here but i adore ya’ll so much !!and basically i feel really confident about shifting. i’ve shifted every time i tried, even though it was a very short shift, i have been practicing manifestation, LOA, & meditation and yeah here we are !

🐇 — THE SHIFT ITSELF

so i read something last night on shiftblr, it’ll be linked here, i already was/am in the mindset of “if i try to shift i’m going to fucking shift” like it doesn’t matter to me anymore, i’m doing it. instead of trying every night, i’ve been focused on trying on weekends when i have no responsibilities and such. though throughout this week i have been practicing my meditation/reaching the void state. SO i saw that post and honestly… i wasn’t really like looking to shift, it was a very impromptu thing. i put on a subliminal [ the one i used ] and i went to bed. i was thinking about one my alt realities a better cr though i hate the term better cr where i live in Oregon, and I am a tattoo apprentice, Levi Ackerman from AOT is the one I am apprenticing for. this is really based on me learning how to tattoo and not having to spend time with the AOT cast while also fighting titans and save the world. while that is great, I wanted something chill SO YEAH. I fell asleep to thinking about that… and I shifted. not to that reality but a weird parallel/version of it?

I did this with my first ever shift too. it was almost like a dreamlike reality, but only subtly. soooo I did reality checks.. and it for sure wasn’t a dream. I lived in the apartment above the shop ( which isn’t what i scripted ) and I went down and just went to work with Levi, Hange, and Zeke. I was really on edge though, like “omg i shifted” “i’m literally talking to Levi wtf” like i had no time to process or ground myself so i ended up coming back. but yeah. that’s what happened and i’m determined to get to this ALT reality. ( not in a rushed way, but a ‘i know im going to get there soon’ way )

anyways, that’s my first ever shiftblr post ahhh xxxx

Phone Call

After successfully arriving at the Cast Meet and Greet event a couple hours away from your quaint apartment, you were able to meet your idol at long last. Though you had been awkward in greeting the man of your dreams, you planned to make up for ‘lost time’. With his phone number tucked securely in your phone’s contact list, you anxiously awaited the right moment to send that first text.

That hour had passed you by surprisingly quickly, with how often you’d space out staring over the crowd of fans to fantasize your interaction with Levi Ackerman all over once more in your hazy mind.

Just what had happened? Your babbling and jumbled words, earning you a receipt of his own personal number??

The more you thought about it, you figured this had to be some grueling joke. It had to, right? This never happened outside of fiction. Perhaps he had given you a public number of his, and if you texted it you might just end up embarrassing yourself.

But the look he’d had in his eyes when he glanced up at you before signing those ten numbers under his signature onto the very paper he held…surely he wasn’t one for cruel practical jokes, right?

Tucking the paper away for now, you brought yourself back to the present as the interview began.

For the entirety of the event, you couldn’t keep the giddy grin from your face as your favorite actors and actresses posed as their beloved characters to answer popular questions across many social media platforms. They would quote the author’s original scrip for accurate answers, as well as adding their own personal takes on the topics as the character’s roles.

How could this event have been any more enthralling; you had thought, just before managing to meet the gaze of Levi from the back of the room. Your breath stuck in your throat once more as you quickly diverted your stare.

But upon hearing the man start to speak into his small microphone to answer some questions on a cue card he held, your gaze snapped back up in an instant to find him. You could listen to his voice all day and never tire of how husky and yet smooth he sounded. While the questions were indeed interesting, and provoked curiosity within every fan present, you found it hard to focus on the words.

You pinched your thigh to make yourself concentrate less on the paper held securely in your hand, and more on the event you’d paid a good amount to come see.

The hours ticked by all too quickly, as much as you were anxious to get a chance to text Levi’s number. But finally the moment arrived when the cast all took a stand and thanked the audience for showing up.

Shaking hands grabbed at your belongings as you stood to clap alongside the hundred or so fans. The room was slow to clear, prohibiting you from leaving through the double doors just yet.

Realizing you’d be stuck in the exit line for some time, you let your anticipation get the better of you and pulled out your phone. You hesitated when the contact screen popped up, wondering just what you would say, should this in fact not have been a joke.

“Fuck it,” You whispered, hitting send.

Hey, Mr. Ackerman, this is Y/N from earlier. Loved getting to meet you today!

With a shaky sigh you pocketed your phone, fighting with your bag as you scanned the dispersing crowd. Your eyes naturally drifted back towards the interview table, watching the cast clear their things and be led back through a single door liking the back wall.

Surprisingly, Levi hadn’t departed yet. He stood beside two guards, arms folded and leaning casually against the table as they chatted.

You’d nearly looked away when his posture straightened. He pulled a thin black phone from his back pocket and unlocked it. You nearly lost your breath when he seemed to be reading the screen closely as his nimble thumbs ran across the lower half of the screen.

Daring to hope, you ducked down in the crowd slightly and checked the message you’d sent. And there at the bottom of the screen appeared a bubble icon.

Biting your lip, you were slightly saddened to see the line moving along. But now, you had a bit of a bounce to your step as you left the building and re-emerged back in the extensive parking lot.

You had to remind yourself to look away from your phone screen and watch for passing cars as you passed the walkway. Hastily unlocking your car, you slid inside and locked the door after you and picked up your phone.

I’m glad you enjoyed the event. But please, just Levi is fine. Seems you were anxious to test the validity of this number?

Who knows how long you sat there, shaking in your seat as your thumbs flew across the screen to form a response. But after some time discussing the event, Levi brought up the situation in which you hadn’t been able to say all you had wanted; what with the time limit per fan and your awkward stumbling.

With a burning face and shaking fingers you replied ‘yes’ to his suggestion for a quick call, as he had nothing left on his schedule after the interview, at least for a few hours.

You drove off with a tight grin, awkwardly taking the call once it rang. It was slow to begin with, you trying to be formal and Levi trying to convince you to just be yourself.

An hour into the drive home, you’d hardly recognized just how easy it had been to open up and ask the things you really wanted to know. He answered every question you had, to the best of your ability.

He never once sounded annoyed, nor distracted as the call progressed. In fact, he started asking you simple questions of his own.

Are you from around here?

No? Where at, then?

How damn long did you drive to get here?

When did you get into the show?

Why was my character your favorite? He’s kinda a dick.

All too soon you’d pulled into the lot outside your apartment, and bade him a hesitant goodbye. You’d have continued the call, if it hadn’t already been two hours of conversation and he had a shoot he had to attend for the company.

Offhandedly, he mentioned thinking on letting you have the first look how the photos would come out before he hung up, leaving you with an explosive feeling of butterflies in your gut.

Climbing the straits towards your room, you unlocked the door and flipped onto the couch with a barely contained scream.

You were living a reality you hardly thought feasible, how could you not be over the moon?

Just when you’d thrown your phone to the side some time later to grave dinner, your phone buzzed one last time.

dare i argue...

kenny has a very interesting, consistent morality that isn't all that aberrant compared to most of AoT's main cast.

he is our main source of ackerman lore, whose fallen status within the walls directly telegraphs the position of eldia in the larger world, so on closer inspection, kenny, levi, and mikasa are more than a bit analogous to grisha and the warriors. in kenny's case, i think most of the elder jaegers. hear me out:

my ongoing beef with the uprising arc anime adaptation includes this scene with kenny's grandfather. confoundingly, WIT cut significant length from grandpa's explanation about the ackermans' persecution at the hands of the MPs, but gave kenny a line that... is ghostwritten by zeke jaeger.

in the manga, kenny discouraged kuchel from carrying levi to term for reasons he doesn't verbalize (snk 65)

in the anime (aot 43), my subtitles say "I swear, ain't no point being born in a craphole world like this where there's not a single dream worth pursuing."

the dubbed line is "who'd want to be born into this piece of shit world anyway? there isn't a dream you could have worth suffering through it."

btw i think WIT giving kenny like, 5x more lines with the word "dream" is fucking cheesy and childish; i could see how this mindset is challenged immediately by carla in bystander, but does kenny have to be the one to say it? we get that from historia and alma and ymir already! plenty of characters express thoughts of regretting being born, but this and zeke's are particular to eldians and ackermans, not individuals

but what grandpa ackerman says about this "deal" between the ackerman patriarch and the crown echoes grisha and zeke's propaganda bedtime stories. the first generation born within the walls hoped that ignorance would spare future ackermans, and eldians left behind when the walls went up hoped compliance would save them from... paradise, conscription, what have you. historical omission and revision: neither fucking worked! that ackerman patriarch died pointlessly, every eldian sacrificed to marley's imperialism from foot soldiers in the trenches to the warriors and proto-warriors, ksaver's generation and older, died pointlessly.

much like the warriors, i don't think any of the above excuses or downplays kenny's wrongdoings, but contextualizes them:

he's a serial killer

as far as we know his Ripping was mostly MPs. as of this scene in ch. 65, the latest were lurking outside a dying old man's home, whether that means they monitored the eldest living ackerman closely, or they were there to jump kenny. point is, killing cops is uhhhhh cool. i don’t care he becomes one himself later. the old 2nd wave feminist adage of “the personal is political” applies to any gender, really, and we should all take police violence against vulnerable populations personally, so whether you frame kenny’s kill count before joining the MPs as self-defense or vengeance, there’s a net positive of fewer MPs terrorizing the streets of the interior and the underground.

he abandoned and/or abused levi

my guess is without his anime-only Zekeism™, kenny’s concern before levi's birth is more specific to kuchel’s circumstances, and also informs his abandonment:

raising a child would make kuchel’s life even more difficult;

the underground and moreover a brothel are no place to raise a child;

as his reaction to levi not knowing his last name goes, living as an ackerman is a curse unto itself (the zeke and ksaver conclusion), even if kenny’s relationship with uri has improved his circumstances;

my most charitable and extracanonical thought for this man is… i wonder what happened to his and kuchel’s own parents. how else do you lose track of your sister like this? did they feel abandoned themselves? did kenny already doubt kuchel would live long or be strong enough to protect a child (maternal mortality, which fellow MP nile dawk brings up in 108)? when he said “i’m not cut out to be some kid’s father,” did he also think that of kuchel? or did he think he also failed as an older brother—kenny and kuchel as grisha and faye...

we only get kenny’s POV of his time with levi, which lasts about five pages of chapter 69. my point is, levi whump revisionism tends to give him annie leonhart's canonical childhood, for which there is no evidence in chapter 69 or in bad boy.

of course, filling the blanks of kenny's pedagogy is grim, and popular fanon isn't unreasonable at all. there's no nonviolent way to teach violence, which kenny calls "the only tool he had" and likely thought of as the only thing he could offer levi. removing levi from the underground didn't seem to cross his mind, either, which could point to a pessimism that people kill people, above and below—the ackermans were wiped out on the surface, after all. but i actually find the understanding of their relationship to the royal family as feudal in the japanese sense helpful here: would bringing him along set levi's path for him, one in service to the reisses? cruel as it was, kenny guaranteed levi's freedom.

he's a cop

okay, this is where the manga gets a little ambiguous/inconsistent with chronology. when kenny gets the anti-personnel squad, he says he’s “never been part of the military before”—he’s actually following levi’s footsteps here, a criminal recruit far outclassing these graduates of the cadet corps. however, to historia, he identifies himself as part of the first interior squad in 845. the fuck?

what is more certain is after he meets uri and becomes his bodyguard 😏, he joins this "assembly" or "council" of nobles and wallists. "bodyguard" does not sound like a role in which kenny would wander the walls doing extrajudicial murder like sannes. when levi and hange interrogate sannes, he proudly lists his own resume (snk 55), which includes killing armin’s parents, erwin’s father, and historia’s mother (the 2nd worst thing to be in the walls is blond), so besides alma, kenny doesn't seem to be included in these panels of the first interior squad "bloodying [their] hands" for peace within the walls.

i think a reasonable conclusion is kenny joined the first interior squad after uri's death in 842, and this squad is so elusive as to be legendary to the average MP. there is probably some translation subtlety with "squad" and "section, " so my understanding is the anti-personnel squad is either part of the first interior squad, or an elite, separate but affiliated group much like levi's special operations squad.

i think of kenny in these three years as unmoored much like iseyama describes levi after shiganshina; the main thing guiding him seems to be his disdain for rod reiss, since he has no hard feeling against frieda. dare i say... rod is kenuri's zeke?

besides his worry for kuchel and debatable care for levi, kenny does, actually, express some of the humanitarianism that motivates his nephew, also in chapter 65 and also excluded from the anime adaptation:

"how much WE lost in those five years?! how many precious lives?!" "he don't give two shits about any of it! not his his family, not humanity, and certainly not you, historia!!

like, HELLO? who is he referring to? the residents of wall maria? the culling that killed armin's grandfather? historia's half-siblings? hell—trost and stohess, mere months ago? i think he's being genuine! this isn't a token, empty phrase, tugging at historia's heartstrings. a killer can value life, i don't think that's that crazy a thing to propose, least of all in attack on titan and least of all in the uprising arc where levi squad kills other humans (also all cops).

kenny's narration in chapter 69 and episode 47 revolves around power. his respect for uri starts from acknowledging him as "the strongest guy around," which echoes over the moment he abandons levi—he's done his level best to teach levi to be the strongest underground, and his philosophy of proving yourself to be the strongest or most powerful doesn't belie a sense of superiority over the weak or any desire to rule; it's the logical conclusion of the oppressed. he thinks of himself as strong, but doesn't call kuchel weak, and his use of "we"—he counts himself part of humanity. his later ambition to steal the founder... makes him more similar to erwin. he just wants the knowledge, the view from up there.

but i think kenny is a little dishonest in chapter 58 before one of levi's coldest "yeah"'s of all time:

i'll kill anyone if that's what it takes to get the job done. ya kill too when it benefits ya, right?

for both men, this object "you" is not themselves as individuals, despite their posturing. it could really, really be humanity, for all three ackermans. mikasa, ten chapters prior:

there are only so many lives i can value, and i decided who those people were six years ago, so you shouldn't try to ask for my pity. because right now, i don't have time to spare, or room in my heart.

and her series-long journey is excavating her heart for humanity. the common fandom complaint that she "only cares about eren" is, to me, similarly reductive as their view of kenny. characters can lie to themselves, or reveal they're more selfless than they thought.

in conclusion:

WIT skipped a lot of exposition to animate an extra kenny-levi fight that doesn't even make sense spatially

of course he sucks! and so do the younger ackermans! but they all suck a lot less than they think they do

"stop looking at me with those eyes, 'm shy..." your gaze drifts to the side with their wolfish chuckle, hearing the click or their shoes draw nearer and nearer. a finger rests under your chin and you're turned to meet the heated stare. "but i can't help 't, yer so sweet. my sweet, sweet thing."

you can feel their eyes before you see them, their arms wrapping around your middle before you can turn around. with a giggle your twirled around, holding onto their arms by the bicep. you meet their loving gaze with a smile, cheeks heated. the eye contact lasts as they just stare upon your face, a peaceful grin on rosy lips. "stop looking at me with those eyes, makes me giddy" you can't help the widening of your smile. they don't say anything, reaching a gentle hand to cup your cheek; thumb stroking your cheekbones. then, the silence is broken, "i just still can't believe that you're mine, feels like a dream." they place a tender kiss to your forehead.

Hange's voice shattered the tranquility of my dreams, a morning sunbeam cast through my window. Blinking away sleep, their wide-eyed excitement loomed over me with a lamp illuminating the room.

"Hange, let me sleep," I groaned, flipping over and burying my face in the pillow, shoving the blanket over my head to fend off the morning invasion.

"No can do," Hange declared, ripping the blanket and pillow away with zealous determination.

"What the hell, Hange?" I moaned, propping myself up but unwilling to surrender the haven of my bed. "This better be good," I muttered into the mattress.

"Emergency meeting," Hange announced with urgency.

"I'm not a Captain," I complained, lifting my head to peer at them.

"Everyone is required to go," Hange explained. "It's some big news you don't want to miss."

"Tell me later," I mumbled, shoving my face back into the bed.

Hange's grip on my arm tightened, and suddenly I found myself on the cold floor, the warmth of my bed snatched away.

"We have to go. We seriously cannot be late," Hange urged, dragging me out of the room, my uncoordinated form stumbling in tow.

The hallway was a chaotic stream of scouts heading towards the mess hall, clad in uniforms I hadn't bothered to put on.

"Hange, you couldn't have let me get dressed," I groaned, glancing down at my nightgown, bare feet meeting the cold floor.

The final pull from Hange led us into the mess hall. The room buzzed with murmurs, scouts huddled together, an undercurrent of confusion weaving through the air. Still half-asleep, I tried to make sense of the situation, unsure of what had stirred everyone into this early assembly.

"Alex!" I yelled, waving my hand as I spotted him emerging from the crowd. Behind him, as always, were Miche and Oluo.

"It's happening," he declared as he joined us.

"So it's real?" Hange's eyes sparkled, their smile growing wider, hands trembling with excitement.

"Can someone fill me in on what the heck is going on?" I grumbled.

Alexander looked me over, a critical gaze from head to toe.

"You couldn't get dressed?" he scoffed, pulling off his jacket and draping it over me.

"Sorry, Hange pulled me out of bed," I explained, adjusting the jacket.

"Whatever. Next time, don't come out here looking like a fool," he groaned, scolding me.

"It's embarrassing."

I barely had time to react to Alexander's words when a familiar loud voice sliced through the crowd's murmurs, capturing everyone's attention.

"Today, the Scout Regiment sees change," Captain Erwin announced from the stairs above, his presence capturing everyone's attention.

"Our captains will be put to the test to see if they are fit to lead. Scouts will be examined for potential new captains."

Whispers surged through the crowd like a storm.

"What does he mean, 'fit to lead'?" Alexander scoffed. "Is he going to demote us?"

"Captain Erwin can't demote," I tried to reassure him.

"Starting today, I will be leading the Scout Regiment from this point on. There will be a lot of changes coming, so please brace yourselves," Erwin declared. "Tomorrow, at the first 8 o'clock hour, we will be heading out on an expedition. The main objective is to survey the area and for me to evaluate you all. Any comments, questions, or concerns can be addressed today at my office. You all are dismissed."

Erwin left, leaving us in stunned silence. Anger and panic echoed through the room in a cacophony of voices.

"What does this guy think he's doing?" Oluo exclaimed.

"Hange, did he explain this in the meeting last night?" Alexander questioned.

"No, he only mentioned becoming the commander," Hange replied.

"Then why the hell is he just now saying this?" Alexander complained. "I worked my tail off to be a Captain. I'm not giving it up now."

The confusion in the room mirrored my own state of mind. I wasn't angry, just lost in trying to understand what prompted this sudden change. Why didn't Shadis tell us himself? And why did he leave? It made sense that Erwin was to take over. He did everything for the Scouts, including initiation for the recruits something Shadis was supposed to do.

As the waves of anger and frustration crashed around me, I sought solace, walking away from the upset clusters of people to find a moment of clarity. I felt the gaze of those midwinter eyes once again. Leaning against the wall with arms crossed, he observed the chaos in silence. I took a seat on the bench next to him, offering a casual smile.

"What are your thoughts on this?" I asked, attempting to strike up a conversation as if we were old acquaintances.

"Tch," was all he let out. "Why are you out in your pajamas? You're going to catch a cold."

"Oh, this?" I replied, forgetting about my attire until the morning breeze reminded me.

"I didn't have time to change. Wasn't really given the option, either. I had just woken up." I laughed it off, feeling a bit embarrassed. Normally, I wouldn't care, but Alexander's words echoed in my mind, it was embarrassing that I was out in public in my pajamas.

Levi didn't respond, only his eyes scrutinizing me like I was a parasite clinging to his world.

"Are you excited for the next survey? This will be your second one, right?" I asked, attempting to shift the conversation away from the awkwardness of his judgmental scrutiny.

"Excited?" he responded flatly. "What's so exciting about watching others get devoured by titans?"

My attempt to lighten the mood only made the tension worse. I should've stopped talking, but I couldn't.

My words seemed to hang in the air, intensifying the awkwardness between us. "You're right. Pardon my mistake," I said, my tone trying to ease the tension. "Are you prepared? That's the more appropriate question to ask."

"No question is better," he replied with a bitter tone, and a moment of silence followed. I looked down at my lap, cringing at my own words.

"I'm prepared for whatever the commander throws my way. Are you?" Levi's voice broke the silence.

A smile crept onto my face, and I quickly looked back up to meet his eyes. They locked for a moment before he glanced away.

"I'm never prepared, but I'll be quick on my feet when the time comes," I said in a calm tone.

For that moment, it was nice to have a real conversation with him, even if he wasn't welcoming. But the moment faded as footsteps approached.

"Iris," Alexander's stern voice cut through.

I rose to my feet, meeting his glare.

"Is he bothering you?" Alexander asked, gripping my wrist and glaring at Levi.

"No," I quickly replied. "I was bothering him."

It seemed like Alexander didn't hear the last words I said. Like he wanted to ignore them. My eyes were glued to the ground, trying to ignore Alex's anger.

"Listen here, freak," Alexander's voice carried anger. "You stay in your lane, and we will stay in ours. That's an order. Got that?"

I looked up to see Levi's face completely unfazed by Alexander's harsh words. Levi only looked at Alexander's hand gripping my wrist and then back to me. Never once did I see him look at Alexander.

"Come on," I felt Alexander pull me away from the area as he walked through the crowd. My eyes still looked back at Levi as he watched us walk away.

"I'm sorry," I mouthed as I was dragged away from his line of sight.

The world outside the walls was a breathtaking sight. The sky stretched endlessly, and the towering trees seemed to touch the heavens. Flowers adorned the landscape with wild abandon. Yet, this beauty came with a price.

"Abnormal to the right!" A scout's urgent cry pierced the serene scenery.

My eyes focused on the grotesque Titan charging mindlessly towards us, a twisted grin on its face, drool trailing from its mouth. The unfolding scene was abruptly interrupted when the Titan crashed face-first into the ground, blood splattering from the back of its nape. There he stood triumphantly on its head as he wiped the blades off with his handkerchief, disgusted by the blood.

Levi's swift action had averted a potential disaster. The casualties he prevented surprised me. One more second and we all could have been trampled.

"Good job, Levi!" I cheered, but the response from others was silent. They pretended the Titan went down on its own. Anyone else and they would have been cheering and profusely thanking them.

Burning eyes bore into the back of my head as we rode toward the woods. I knew it was Alexander, anger radiating from him, but I refused to let it dominate my thoughts.

Unfortunately, avoiding the confrontation proved futile. Alexander's horse closed the gap between ours. "What the hell was that?" he asked quietly.

"What was what, Alex?" I replied, my tone tinged with irritation.

"You know what,"

"No, I don't. Care to enlighten me?"

"Praising that rat," he groaned.

"You, of all people, should know I praise everyone for their Titan kills," I shot back, meeting his glare head-on.

"Captain Wright," Erwin's commanding voice intervened.

"Yes, sir?" Alexander responded, redirecting his attention to the mission.

"Your lack of attention is going to get you and your whole squad killed," Erwin's stern warning hung in the air. "Your insecurities are glaring. Fix it before it's fatal."

Erwin rode off, leaving Alexander visibly angered. The weight of change, with Erwin now the commander, was a tension in the air above all our heads.

Erwin saved me now but later is a different story.

The velvet black canvas stretched for miles, adorned with iridescent lights scattered across the sky. Outside the walls, the expanse of the sky was boundless, a sight I cherished every time I stepped beyond the confinement.

Sunsets during our missions held a special allure. The hues painted across the horizon were a stark contrast to the constrained skies within the walls. Tonight, I wanted to venture out to the sky that seemed to stretch endlessly, promising a sanctuary of thoughts under the moon's watchful gaze.

The moon, my confidante, awaited me. No one else looked at me the way she did—listening intently, a beacon in my darkest moments. She bore witness to all my secrets, my fears, and the tears shed for fallen comrades.

Tonight, under the celestial gaze, I yearned to share the changes within the Scout Regiment. The prospect of transformation that lingered in the air, and I couldn't wait to confide in the silent confidante above.

In the tent, Alexander's snores were louder than ever. I wanted to shove a pillow on his face to stop his snoring. Sometimes I wonder if my insomnia is because of his late night snoring. Unfortunately disturbing his rare moments of piece felt like tiptoeing around a slumbering beast, and yet, the moon beckoned.

I slipped from Alexander's arms, donned my cloak and shoes, and secured my bag, casting a lingering look at the peaceful figure beside me. The captain's serenity in sleep was a stark contrast to the grumpiness he exhibited while awake.

The crackling fire greeted me as I stepped out of the tent. Someone tended to the flames, their figure cloaked in the flickering light. It intrigued me; late-night wanderers were usually a rarity during our missions. Who was up this late tending to a fire? It didn't bother me none, it was nice to have some company for once.

I plopped down next to them without much ceremony. "Couldn't sleep?" I asked, stretching my hands towards the fire for warmth.

Silence hung in the air, but I couldn't resist stealing a glance under their cloak. "Should've known it was you," I grinned. "How are you holding up?"

Their gaze remained locked on the dancing flames. "Fine," came the curt reply.

"Thirsty?" I pressed on, brushing off the cold shoulder.

No response, no eye contact. Nothing new.

"I'll take that as a yes," I chuckled, setting a pot of tea on the fire. While it brewed, I pulled out my sketchbook from the bag, ready to capture the night's beauty.

Drawing under the moonlight brought me unparalleled peace, and having Levi's silent company wasn't about to change that. I tossed back my hood, basking in the moon's glow with closed eyes.

"You're going to ruin the tea," Levi's voice cut through my tranquil moment.

"Pardon?" I said, meeting his gaze as he lifted the kettle from the fire.

"You're letting it steep for too long," he remarked. "And the fire is too hot. It should steep for three minutes if it's on a fire."

"Oh, I'm sorry," I replied. "Want me to make a new batch?"

"It'll suffice," he said, his tone as bland as ever.

I poured him a cup and served myself one too, watching as he grabbed it from the rim, just like the first time we met. It was a quirky habit, one he refused to let go. Something so small, yet I was intrigued—I wanted to know why the rim over the perfectly good handle on the side. It was a minor detail, but I craved understanding.

While I continued sketching the dim surroundings, I decided to break the silence.

"So, how do you like the Scouts so far?"

"I don't," he replied bluntly.

"Oh, well, why's that?" I asked, still absorbed in my sketch. His straightforwardness caught me off guard, though I shouldn't have been surprised.

"Everyone's arrogant assholes who think they are better than everyone," he stated.

"For a moment there, I thought you were talking about the MP's," I chuckled, attempting to lighten the mood. But my attempt fell flat, met with silence. Once again, I realized he wasn't much of a talker.

"I'm sorry if Alexander is getting to you," I said quietly, looking up at him. His eyes were already locked on me. "He wasn't always a jerk. It doesn't help that all the guys feed his ego."

"Hmph," Levi breathed out, eyes shifting away as he crossed his arms. "Like I'd let that shit bag get to me."

I smiled, my gaze lingering on him. "Good. I'm glad," I said, lowering my voice and glancing around for unwanted visitors.

"It's about time someone stands up to him. But let's keep that between us."

Once again, silence draped around us like a comforting cloak. The more it happened, the more I found solace in it. My sketch continued to capture the moon's tender caress over the land as the night unfolded.

"What is that?" Levi's voice cut through the quiet after a while.

"This?" I said, lifting my sketch.

"Yeah, that," he grumbled.

"Oh, just a sketch of the night sky," I replied casually, doodling away. "It's a beautiful night out, isn't it?"

"I guess you can say that," Levi spoke, his words measured.

"Just look at how pretty she is, Levi," I said, tilting my head back to gaze at the moon. Once again, he didn't utter a word.

"Do you not like the night sky, Levi?" I inquired.

"It's not my favorite," he admitted, a slow opening up to me. A brief pause lingered.

"Do you?"

"Absolutely. She's always there for me. Whenever you need her, she's there," I explained.

"Who is she?" Levi asked, clearly confused.

"Well, the moon, silly," I said with a playful smile.

In time Levi, you'll learn to love the moon the way I do.

Mild season five spoilers at one point, I give a heads up before hand.

I have to say, I'm very happy with the LMK casting of voice actors who are mostly known/most prominently coming from the anime English dub field.

I personally don't watch much anime. One of the reasons being I don't like a lot of the over acting that comes with it. Great for other people, but it throws me out of the immersion and just generally gets on my nerves (no shade to anyone who enjoys it, just not for me).

Having said that, the actors themselves are so talented and have such good voices.

Christopher Sabat, Azure Lion's VA, is All Might in MHA.

Matthew Mercer, as of Season 5, plays The Nine Head Demon and in the past was AoT's Levi Ackerman.

And then of course, SEAN SCHEMMEL. I've seen a lot more Dragon Ball (Siblings) than most any other anime, and I never really paid any speacial attention to Goku's VA, despite him being the MC. But now in LMK, wow. Impossible not pay attention. Monkey King is for sure one of my favorite characters and that feeling has only grown with each season as his character growth has been supported and elevated by the voice acting. Season 4's A Life of Mistakes lines?

"I did this for us!"

"Oh kid, you found me."

"I lost sight of why I was even doing it in the first place."

And quick Season 5 mention because I just finished it and this scene alone was definitely not the reason I started making this post in the first place:

The Scream. In Episode 9. Oh My God. I have an occasional habit of smiling while watching media, even if it's tense or sad because I'm enjoying it and appreciating the work that was put in. Not with this. The gutwrenching horror he put into that-

And that's just the characters and their VAs I recognized based in my Generalized Anime Knowledge! Each of them have done dozens of more shows or projects.

As well as the rest of the cast who bring such amazing talent and skill. I don't know what they've all done prior (aside from Jack De Sena of course) but wow am I so happy they're apart of the show.

Billy Kametz as Macaque for the first three seasons was amazing. Rest in peace sir

Alejandro Saab who took over in 4 and 5 does such justice to the role (check out his song covers they're amazing and there's nothing like being able to imagine Macaque sing Peaches).

Jack De Sena? I loved him as Sokka, saw the possible corruption arc abilitiy with Callum, and was granted that dream in the form of MK and his subsequent Harbinger counterpart. This man has range and I'm so glad the show is allowing him to use it

Stephanie Sheh as Mei? Gaaaaaaah! I love Mei, and she brings such a vibrancy and life that just perfects the vision for the character.

Dave B. Mitchell and David Chen as my all time favorite old married couple, Pigsy and Tang respectively. Couldn't have asked for better.

Patrick Seitz as Sandy, Kyle McCarley as Red Son (who now that I'm looking at it, is *also* an anime voice actor) and Johnny Bosch as Ne Zha to name just a few more.

I don't know, this started out as a post about being able to enjoy voice acting from people who aren't normally in shows I would watch, but now I guess it's just an appreciation post.

I Love this show. The team, everyone involved, do such a good job . No one who worked on it will see this of course but just gotta say thanks for 5 Amazing Seasons, I've never been crazier about plastic monkies.

i’ve mentioned it a couple of times before, but my dream dream project would be to write a My Hero/Attack on Titan AU. No reader-insert, no real shipping. Just the BNHA cast, jettisoning themselves towards an ending that leaves them scattered—or dead. i just!!!!! i want to sink my teeth into that whole universe. just imagine it: what it must feel like to swing—to fly—through tall, ancient trees, your friends cutting through the sunlight and sending it flickering over you as they holler and whoop at each other. sitting at a rough-hewn table, with a heavy, tarnished plate. eating what—potatoes? bread? greens to further a stew as someone further down the bench moans about missing meat. the bruising the straps from the ODEM gear must leave—the way it must pinch your shoulders. their scout jackets—the canvas they’re made from. is it waxed to make it more weather proof? the difference between thundering out into a rolling plane, hyperaware of anything in the distance that moves or lurches forward vs. being in the inner walls, amid the bustle of people who can laugh easily, who feel safe and protected by walls that only allow you the sky above, the clouds. running along a fucking—tiled rooftop!!! a rooftop on a slant, like, are their boots light enough to feel the crack of a tile underneath them, when your weight shifts before you can leap off again? i just—i want to write it. all of it. the blood and the way someone’s spine snaps and growing up in a wave of refugees, in a city that actively resents you. what does it mean to like—choose to serve your people, when you go through that? AoT goes on and on about freedom freedom freedom but like, what does that mean? if you throw a character like Deku into that—a character who’s built on like, pushing through the worst, on helping others no matter what, then like… how does that change him? Does it change him? What does it take to change him? What is freedom to a boy like Deku? in some ways i think he’s perfect for the setting—he seems like he asks himself one hundred thousand questions and I think a combination of that nature and his impulse to help people would spill over into leading him into something foolhardy, like joining the scouts.

it’d be an ambitious project and i am not stupid enough to take it on without clearing the deck of all my other WIPs first (the Big 3 trilogy included) but—every now and then i like to revisit the idea. move characters around, reposition them against the sky or the sea or the red heat of the destruction of the world. just… having a lil think.

Attack on Titan AU Valentine's Day Headcanons

Here we go - Valentine’s Day Headcanons for the main cast of AoT. Enjoy!

Armin - (the friend that is always single but the eternal advice-giver to those in relationships)

Armin - Armin has become more and more frustrated by the slow, painful progression of his best friends’ relationship. Everyone is aware that Eren and Mikasa have feelings for each other except for Eren and Mikasa. The tension is putting everyone on edge and Armin has had as much as he can take. As Valentine’s Day approaches, he decides on a scheme that will prompt Eren into confessing. 

Armin’s first move is to drop a lie into his conversation with Eren; that allegedly Mikasa has Valentine’s Day plans with Jean and a few of the others. Eren is taken aback by his exclusion from the fictional social gathering. Later, his surprise turns to fury when Sasha and Connie deny their involvement and assume that the gathering only consists of Jean and Mikasa. Armin had hoped that Eren’s jealousy would fuel him to speak to Mikasa. Instead, in a wild temper, Eren confronts Jean. It is Mikasa’s anger, however, which eclipses Eren’s own. Disappointed with their childish in-fighting, she decides to avoid both Jean and Eren until after the holiday. Momentarily, Armin is guilt-ridden at the result of his endeavour. That is, until Eren approaches Mikasa. They speak about the source of Eren’s anger and insecurity concerning her and Jean. Eventually he finds the words to ask the question -  “what am I to you?” And this time, Mikasa doesn’t say family. 

It’s all in a day’s work for Armin Arlet, that ostensibly innocent, diabolical mastermind. Happy for his friends at last, he spends Valentine’s Day curled up beside his cat with a good book. His phone sits on the table next to him, ready to reply to anyone who needs his advice. 

Eren x Mikasa 

Eren - when asked about his Valentine’s Day plans, Eren declares that Mikasa has shown no interest in the holiday. “She’s not like other girls. She’s cool,” he smugly assures his friends. Unaware of their ridiculing, Armin takes him to one side and tells him that this might not entirely be the case. He translates Mikasa’s ‘girl speak’ for Eren, convincing him that Mikasa is in fact expecting him to organise some form of celebration to mark the occasion. Whilst Eren disagrees at first, he soon realises that Armin is right. Then the second and far more pressing problem presents itself; Eren has no idea where to take her. Again, Armin comes to his rescue. He suggests that Eren and Mikasa take a long walk across the Ackermans’ farmland and into the beautiful woods that lay at the edge of their field. It’s a personal place for Mikasa, filled with childhood memories. He tells Eren to pack a picnic and spend the afternoon with her; for Mikasa loves nothing more than the peace and solitude of the woods, other than his company.

Mikasa - If the Valentine’s Day arrangements were left up to Mikasa, then she would ensure that Eren’s day would consist of his two favourite things: destroying titans and cheeseburgers. She would book day passes to the new Titan-themed amusement park which has recently opened up outside of town. The centre has high ropes, zip wires and a rifle range so Eren would be in his element. Afterwards, they would grab burgers at a mid-range restaurant (nowhere too fancy as they’re still students!)

Sasha x Niccolo (and Connie)

Niccolo - Niccolo knows that Sasha would never be interested in traditional Valentine’s gifts such as flowers or jewellery, but they have been dating for a few months and he wants to get her a gift. Consequently, he ambushes her after school one afternoon with a bouquet. Sasha is shocked by his sudden appearance whilst Connie finds the whole situation hilarious. When Sasha looks more closely, she sees that Niccolo has actually purchased her a chicken nugget bouquet. It is her wildest dream come true. (I saw this on Facebook and immediately thought of Sasha!)

Niccolo (Modern AU) - Sasha goes out for dinner at Nico’s restaurant. Connie and Jean accompany her and the three of them enjoy the best meal they have ever had. Sasha stays behind after the other two have  left. She enters the kitchen, where Niccolo is busy wiping down the surfaces. Sasha wraps her arms around Nico's waist and kisses him softly on the neck. At the sound of her whispered “thank you,” he turns around and takes her face in his hands…

Sasha - Niccolo’s culinary skills and restaurant recommendations are usually the inspiration for their dates. However, on this particular Valentine’s Day, Sasha decides to return the favour and cook him a mouth-watering dinner. The only issue is that she can never rid her house of her parents and siblings. Luckily Niccolo’s parents are going out for Valentine’s Day, leaving them with a free house at last. Sasha is thrilled to take over the kitchen and show Niccolo that she can cook too, whilst Niccolo has something else planned for dessert (wink wink).

Connie - Niccolo has Sasha all to himself on Valentine's Day so it is only fair that Connie gets his best friend back on the 15th February. All the unsold Valentine’s Day chocolates are half price in the shops so the pair sprint into town with empty backpacks. This year is much like any other; both of them eat until they are sick.

Jean - Jean is heartlessly mocked by his friends for not having a date on Valentine’s Day. Angered, Jean contradicts them, insisting that he has just started seeing someone. When asked for details, Jean only divulges that the mysterious girl is “cute” and goes to another school. When posed with further questions, Jean explains that the school would not be known to them as it is in another town. Soon his friends’ questions turn to demands for proof. Jean continues to defend his position, claiming that his new girlfriend isn’t on social media and he hasn’t taken any photos of them together on his phone yet. He almost has the others convinced when Connie asks for the girl’s name. Jean hesitates for a second too long, before storming off to a chorus of cruel laughter. 

Marco - is single and without a date for Valentine’s Day. His friends are outraged on his behalf  and Marco feigns his disappointment. In reality, he is secretly content to be by himself as there is no one he is currently interested in. (I headcanon Jean as straight and Marco as gay. I imagine that Jean didn’t realise this about Marco straightaway and when he found out he maintained his distance, incorrectly assuming that Marco’s friendliness was due to his interest in him. Hurt and shocked by Jean’s narrow-minded reaction, Marco confronted him. It took a while for the two to make up but eventually they did. Now Marco just brings the whole episode up occasionally to annoy Jean).

Historia/Christa x Ymir (and Reiner)

Reiner - Reiner has put considerable time into preparing for this moment. He has been on the receiving end of Christa’s smiles and flirtatious small talk enough times to consider himself eligible for a date with her. Today is the day. Reiner has practised his words (which even Bertolt seemed taken in by), and he has put on his best shirt. As the bell announces break time, he slinks by the lockers. Christa is speaking to Ymir. Reiner approaches slowly, pausing to withdraw a comb from his pocket to smooth back his hair. Ymir is partially blocking his view of Christa. This girl is emotionally and physically getting in his way; for Reiner is forced to angle around a passerby just to keep his eyes on Christa. Reiner continues and Ymir leans forward a little more. Then, just before Reiner can open his mouth, she kisses her! Reiner stands there, frozen. This is certainly not how he and Bert rehearsed it. (Or was it? ;) - Stolen from HIMYM but it just fits them perfectly!)

Historia - As Ymir has taken the lead on so many relationship-defining moments (the confession, first kiss, first date, first-), Historia wants to plan a Valentine’s Day that she will never forget. Historia has saved up every pay cheque from her weekend job at Shingeki coffee so she can take Ymir out for a night in the city. However she only manages to afford their train fare; nothing else. Still, the pair walk around the capital with hands clasped, despite the judgemental whispers of the bourgeoisie. Giggling at their ridiculous top hats, frock coats and fine feathers, Historia and Ymir run towards the city centre. They window shop, stare up at impressive landmarks and gaze hungrily into fine dining establishments. Historia and Ymir end their date by grabbing takeout at the station before devouring it on the train ride home. People stare; they don’t care.

Ymir - takes Historia out to her favourite dessert restaurant. Over a plate of crepes and strawberries, Ymir tells Historia that she is in love with her. Historia is astonished and only manages a weak “thank you.” Despite the sting of her lukewarm response, Ymir insists that Historia must have known how she felt and is content to wait until she is ready to say it back (“however long it takes.”)

Bertolt x Annie (and Reiner again, lol)

Bertolto - Bertolt cherishes his friendship with Reiner but he often finds it difficult to make himself heard when in his presence. Despite his assurances to Reiner that he is content enough to remain as Annie’s friend and content enough to receive monosyllabic replies from her during conversations, Reiner refuses to listen. Bert really doesn’t want to admit his true feelings for Annie but, unfortunately, his best friend has other ideas. He coaches Bertolt on everything from his clothing, to the manner in which he should approach her, to the precise wording of his confession. 

As Valentine’s Day looms ever closer, Reiner gives a heartening pep talk for Bertolt’s benefit before all but marching him over to where Annie is retrieving her bag and shoes from her locker. She glances up, frowning at Reiner’s grandiose greeting. His head turns and he catches Bert not walking but running away. Annie is speechless.

Levi x Hange

Levi - Levi would be filled with trepidation as Valentine’s Day approaches. In the two weeks since he and Hange kissed unexpectedly in his apartment, he has found himself quietly irritated at her carelessly cheerful demeanour. He had imagined that the pair would talk about the situation at least but Hange has said nothing on the subject. This has left Levi to brood over the implications of the kiss, whilst Hange has been strolling around the school quite oblivious to his internal conflict. Alone, he cannot figure out how to move forward, ideally to securing a date. 

A mixture of frustration and anxiety eventually pushes him over the edge. One day, as Hange is walking buoyantly down the corridor, Levi steps out and seizes her by the collar. Possibly he had imagined his gesture to be a romantic one, but in reality it amounts to a stream of half-shouted shit-themed insults culminating in a threat. Based on the 16,000 yen that she still owes him, Levi demands that she buys him dinner that Saturday. Startled at first, Hange slowly manages a sly grin, leaving Levi in wide-eyed disbelief that she would ever say yes to an emotionally-constipated asshole like him. Then again, when has Hange ever reacted to anyone or anything appropriately? 

Levi - (Modern AU) - As someone who favours being outdoors, Levi would make an effort to organise a scenic and entertaining date. Whether this involves a museum visit, a hike, horseback riding or a long walk through the city streets, he would ensure that it is enough to impress. Sophisticated dining would follow, either upon a building terrace with a panoramic view or his favourite tea salon. When in a more established relationship, he would favour home dates; cleaning his place until it is spotless before cooking a nice meal from scratch.

Hange - (Modern AU) - Hange knows exactly what Levi likes. She cleans their apartment until it is positively gleaming before setting up the rice cooker for his favourite meal; plain rice with no garnish. Levi arrives home from work and is stunned by the shining countertops. He turns to the doorway where Hange is standing, hair still dripping from her bath. His heart is racing but his look of disdain gives nothing away. 

“You’re wasting your time with all this cleaning, Four Eyes.” Levi approaches her, hands loosening his tie. “You see, things are about to get real dirty…”

Let me present you my aot (aruani) series of one-shots based on "How I met your mother".

Living in the best city in the world in your twenties, with your friends? Nights at the usual bar, finding yourself lost in the future, struggling to find your place in the world, and most of all, navigating through relationships. It's wonderful, terrifying and, extremely, extremely, funny.

This is the story about a group of friends navigating their youth in chaotic and exciting ways as they waste their time at Scout's, their most trusted bar.

Brace yourselves to enjoy their shenanigans.

Main cast:

Armin Arlert: 25. Graduate student at New York University. Future environmental lawyer, according to what he says he will save the ocean, but so far we see him more at the bar than saving the ocean. Hailing from Minnesota, however, he met his roommate at the University of Chicago, Eren Yaeger, and his best friend, Mikasa Ackerman, with whom he came to live in New York. Affable, conciliatory and intelligent, or at least, depending on who you ask, because his friends will tell you all the idiotic things he's capable of, especially after a couple of beers at Scout's. While his friends struggle to find the love of their life, get back their love or get into bed with various people, he just goes with the flow.

Annie Leonheart: 27. The new bartender at Scout's and lead singer of the band that plays at the bar on Friday nights. Moved to New York with her band from Scotland, her two best friends, Reiner Braun and Bertholdt Hoover, an engaged couple, yes engaged, while she just goes with the flow. Last member of the group, thanks to Eren. Quiet and aloof, or so they say, others will tell you the crazy things she does at Scout's when her shift is over. Annie will navigate her youth in New York, pursue her dreams, friendships will form and in love she will lose herself.

She is the perfect mix of Robin and Lily.

Eren Yaeger: 25. He works as a comic strip artist in a newspaper in the city, although his dream is to succeed with his own comic. He comes from Chicago, where he met Armin Arlert, his best friend, and Mikasa Ackerman, his great love. His purpose is to find the love of his life, especially after the breakup with Mikasa. Dramatic, idiotic and groundbreaking. He is the cause of reforms in Scout's, especially if he gets together with Jean.

Mikasa Ackerman: 25. She works in a tattoo studio, although her dream is to become a famous artist. Hailing from Chicago, like Eren, and even though she knew him before, they didn't speak until college, thanks to the classes they shared. Thanks to that, the two ended up in a relationship, she met Armin and ended up in New York. When things ended with Eren, she moved out and met Sasha, her current roommate. She is willing to either get over the breakup or get Eren back, whichever comes first.

Jean Kirstein: 27. He works at the biggest bank in New York, although if you ask any of his friends they wouldn't know what he does for a living. Hailing from New Jersey, he works with Connie Springer and thanks to that he met Sasha, Mikasa's roommate, although ironically, Jean met the group at Scout's. Kind of a womanizer, although he respected and somewhat composed for someone that wild. He is known for tearing Scout's apart with Eren and thanks to their rivalry.

Connie Springer: 25. Accountant at Goliath National Bank, the most powerful bank in New York, where he works with Jean. A lifelong Brooklynite, like Sasha Braus, who is his partner in crime. He is Jean's wing man in the search for single women in New York, although truth be told, he is a disastrous wing man. Funny and crazy, he is the menace himself.

Based on Barney Stinson and Marshall Eriksen on season two, when he is single and he is the worst at being Barney's wing man.

Sasha Braus: 26. Kindergarten teacher, although her dream is to be a restaurant critic. Hailing from the same New York City, Brooklyn, just like Connie Springer, her best friend. She is Mikasa's new roommate and Eren's sworn enemy (even though Eren doesn't know) and the one who supports Jean the most by chasing Mikasa, she also forms a dangerous trio together with Connie and Jean. Chaotic and funny, one of Scout's dangers and Levi Ackerman's nightmare.

Levi Ackerman: 37. Distant cousin of Mikasa. Bartender at Scout's. He is so tired of the gang's shit.

Hange/Hanji: 35. Manager of the bar. Loves serving the gang, with their shenanigans they have the time of their life.

Reiner Braun: 27. "Marley's warriors" drummer. Annie's childhood friend, he moved to New York from Scotland with her and his fiancé, with whom he has a dramatic and complicated, yet fun, relationship.

Based on Stuart from "How I met your mother."

Bertholdt Hoover: 28. "Marley's warriors" guitarist and Reiner's fiancé. Calm and relaxed, until Reiner enters the equation.

The story will mostly focus on Aruani, but there will be one shots focused on other characters. (Not many) Despite being based on "How I Met Your Mother", the stories will mostly be fictional,and as well as, the characters are based on the characters of the series, they will still have their own characteristics.

Summary of the first one shot

After a painful breakup, Eren Yaeger is determined to find the love of his life in New York. One Friday night, he sees a girl singing at the bar, Annie Leonhart. Determined to make her fall in love with him, Eren holds two parties in his apartment, which bothers his roommate, Armin Arlert, who has an essay in Constitutional Law. However, there are two things that Eren does not count on, first of all, that his great love Mikasa Ackerman will be present and that Annie Leonhart may enjoy the company of another person more.

Yomi no Tsugai is almost three years old, so it's time to at least dream of an anime adaptation. So, I tried to think of who I hear when I read the manga, and came up with this list. I tried to provide video examples, but, sadly, not every seiyuu has a "{name} roles compilation" video. Also, some videos are hyperlinked because of tumblr's 10-videos-per-post limit.

Under the cut is the part of the main cast I could come up with voices for. Warning: the fact that I have only seen like three anime (is it comical exaggeration? who knows) is even more glaringly obvious here.

aaaand i'll have to repeat because this is the piss on the poor website: there's no news about the anime yet! no one is talking about it officially at the moment! it's my dream cast! who i personally imagine when i read! you absolutely can and should disagree with me and maybe share who you would like to hear as who!

Yuru IMHO, he should be voiced by male seiyuu. For example, Takeo Ootsuka (the closest to what I imagine is Oshi no Ko's Aqua).

Asa (real) Her seiyuu should be able to switch between two modes: the "cold and ruthless" mode and the "sweet teenage girl" mode, and her voice should be relatively deep. I can hear someone like Mizuki Nana (FMAB's Lan Fan, Uramichi Oniisan's Utano Tadano). I mean, Lan Fan has both of these sides.

Asa (fake) She is a sweet girl like 100% of the time, and Saori Hayami's voice (Spy x Family's Yor, Majo to Yajuu's Phanora) would fit her perfectly.

Danji (and Ken) I hear each of these guys' lines in either Megumi Ogata's voice (Shinji from NGE, Hanako from Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun), or Maaya Sakamoto's (Ciel from Black Butler, Haruhi from OHSHC). I'd say, Danji's voice in my head is closer to Shinji's.

Gab Her voice should be high-pitched. Rie Kugumiya (do I even need to) maybe? Definitely not her Al voice, but closer to her Kagura Gintama five years later voice. steal one of the brothers' look, steal the other's voice :D

Left She probably should have the deepest voice compared to the rest of the female cast. I'd probably choose someone like Romi Paku (but not her Ed Elric voice; her Kill la Kill's Ragyou Kiryuuin or Black Butler's Madam Red voice. Or something in between; god, this woman's vocal range...).

I also thought about Shouko Tsuda (Izumi from FMA and FMAB; Martha from Spy x Family), but couldn't find a video.

Right Someone like Rikiya Koyama (Lum's father from Urusei Yatsura 2022, Neptune Shoukaku from Gintama (beware of spoilers in this example). He should sound like one of these two characters, not like, for example, Fukuzawa BSD <- unbelievable that these three have the same seiyuu).

Dera Sugita Tomokazu. Is it because he voiced Gintoki, another morally dubious badass fighter guy who sees a kid, asks "who's gonna adopt them" and doesn't wait for an answer, and then goes to spend all of his money on gambling? Maybe. Oh, he's also voiced Kyon from Haruhi Suzumiya and Joseph Joestar. (god, his voice is too recognizable)

Hana Satsuki Yukino (FMAB!Rosé, Tae from Gintama, Kagome from InuYasha). Yes, it's because of Tae. Both Tae and Hana are 1) pretty (and) dangerous, and 2) the best girls of their respective manga. Also, her voice just fits. Another option would be Marina Inoue (TTGL's Yoko Littner, Gintama's Ikeda Asaemon, SZS's Kitsu Chiri <- another best girl, what an unbelievable coincidence)

Jin His voice should be deep, that's what I'm certain of. He also should sound like he's permanently very, very, very tired of everything. I think of someone like Hosoya Yoshimasa (Kunikida BSD, Reiner AOT). The videoo with examples does not provide any example of tiredness, but does provide an example of a deep voice.

this is nothing fancy but I just want to get this out, so you see the boys ? Imagine int in actor au (just like aot actor au) where the characters are obviously acting. Can you imagine their shenanigans?espicially with William and John I headcanons that the cause the most mischief out of everyone with the cast and their and it’s not a thing that is hidden from the media ,like it’s a known fact. Now add Ben to mix and you are gonna get a party of chaos tho he surprisingly subtle than these two.

and the whole cast is like a family to each other , of course they would often involved rayan ( or more likely he just joins in and no one stop him). I know this probably doesn’t make sense with the lack of specific scenes but my Brian chose not to brain 😭😔 this whole thing began because I realised that all what homelander is someone who longs and aches for someone to love him , and Ben wanting to not be like his father but then he abandoned homelander, and suddenly a picture of these hugging each and just be happy even if it’s in some other universe , even when they aren’t a son and a father But they are the closest they could ever dream to be if they were family.

Just me playing devils advocate with the Rumbling. Spoilers for aot

Since the new episode drop all sorts of discussions and memes are on the internet including once again casting judgement on Eren and the ‘Yeagerist’ both in show and fans irl.

I myself am an Eren apologist or Yeagerist. While I don’t seriously feel the need to defend myself, I’ve grown pretty grey when it comes to morals in an anime. I could simply say I have watched this man grow and suffer for too long in the series to suddenly switch on him at the end. I could say I’m loyal to a fault, where if I can justify the action I will support you regardless be it a fictional character or a real person. If I can justify the means I will probably support you and your decision.

However I feel everyone is focusing on innocent children are dying and it’s wrong(which I agree is sad). But I feel there’s some things I feel people are magically forgetting about.

Eren was just a kid when Birthcontrol, Reiner and Annie came storming in from Marley and attacked Paradis. And many many other people, children included, died in the aftermath of the wild titans that were let into the wall. On top of the following death that came when the government couldn’t hold the refugees from the breached wall and sent them on a death mission that was essentially population control. All that because they were attacked first. Innocent lives have been lost long before Eren had ever gotten the power needed to start the rumbling.

Paradis island and the Eldians in general were under a constant threat by Marley. Did we all just forget the wild mindless titans are people? Actual eldians from Marley that were punished by being forcefully turned into mindless titans and were let loose onto Paradis that have been tormenting the people on the island the entire time. Meaning this whole time the scouts have been unknowingly killing their own people for survival. And had to kill them after knowing this truth just to officially clear the island of titans for good(minus the wall Titian’s and the shifters of course.)

The people Eldians on Paradis have NO IDEA what exists over the wall. The average person was left in the complete dark and only the royals knew the truth and forced everyone to continue living in the walls. The whole argument was ‘well Eldians started it’ but the royal family just locked themselves away on Paradis and kept everyone ignorant. Eren and Armin dreamed of what was over the walls to be free of Titian’s. Imagine finally getting through the nightmare that is fighting all the Titian’s to know they weren’t the last of humanity. But CIVILIZATIONS have modernized. And not only that they’ve already labeled your kind, specifically paradis as the enemy. The worst of humanity, monsters. What would you do? What do y’all expect him to do? You think he’s going to just take that sitting down?

What other option did he have? Being diplomatic and peacefully talking it out seems good on paper. And quite honestly following the peaceful route was gonna get them all killed. That episode where they went to Marley and sat in on that meeting. Eren essentially deadass heard everyone make Paradis the scapegoats for everything wrong with the world, even other Eldians are throwing Paradis eldians under the bus. After that speech it’s no wonder he left the group to execute his plan ‘with’ Zeke (we know he double crosses his own brother). There was no hope to peacefully talk it out when the whole world has decided paradis island is the enemy. And for all the damage and distraction Eren did not attack until war was officially declared on Paradis island first. They was gonna send destruction on a higher scale to the island had Eren not made his move. He simply brought the war to them.

In the end it was literally Paradis against the world. Eren is going to choose his home and his friends over the world that’s already declared them an enemy. And frankly I can’t and won’t blame him for attacking first. In a perfect world I would have loved for all eldians across the globe to stand together. But because they’ve already been brainwashed and condemned paradis eldians I could just say their deaths are an unfortunate collateral damage. Seeing the sheer destruction and mayhem the rumbling is causing is shocking and I was left speechless. And Eren himself hates he has to do this but he’s going to do whatever it takes to make sure the eldians of paradis island are free. I can agree the rumbling is horrifying but I can see why it happened. In the new episode even the commander of the Marleain army can acknowledge this is the cultivation of all their hate being returned back to them.

Day 5 - baptism by pool water

She emerged from the water with a gasping breath and a laugh on her lips. As always, Eren was right: the late-night swim washed over her and calmed her nerves so she no longer felt weighed down by the fear that gripped her from that run-in with Reiner and Bertholdt. She no longer even thought about school or home or Levi or Mama. Drenched in pool water, she felt cleansed. Free. She laughed again. High-pitched and girlish. And she pirouetted in the water, feeling like a water sprite. Typically, Mikasa would have balked at the greenish tinge emitting from the illuminated pool, would have felt like it were casting a sickly pallor on her skin. But, for whatever reason, she felt ethereal that night. The green-tinted water added to this strange magic she felt. But she also knew the way Eren looked at her across the pool that made her feel like someone — something — else. As if she were more than just some girl from a small town with anxious thoughts and feeble dreams. “Fuck, you’re beautiful,” he murmured. His eyes burned black with his sincerity. Typically, Mikasa would have believed that his words were from her imagination. But she was staring at him so intently that she didn’t miss his lips moving. She couldn’t overlook how his cheeks flushed a deep red — so obvious even with the odd lighting — when he realized what he confessed. Typically, Mikasa would have sputtered her protests, would have insisted that Eren get his eyes checked or that he didn’t mean what he said. But she wasn’t typical Mikasa that night; she hadn’t been for a while. So — feeling just as shocked as he looked — she cut through the water toward Eren. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her legs around his waist — and her heart thrummed pleasantly when she realized that he unquestioningly grabbed her thighs and pressed her body closer to his. And she kissed him. Without preamble and with minimal hesitation. He tasted like chlorinated pool water and the cigarette he smoked on their drive to the pool. And she was surprised that she liked the taste of his lips and the feeling of his hands on her bare thighs. And she wanted more: she wanted to learn what else Eren Jaeger could taste and feel like, in whatever situation he would allow her to learn. When she finally pulled away, she felt dizzy. And she was grateful that he was still gripping her thighs so tightly — because she was certain that she would have easily drifted away if he let her go. She wanted to be embarrassed by how intently he was staring into her eyes, how dark his eyes had gotten as he studied her freckles and her lips and the sopping curls that began to fall into her eyes. Suddenly, he smirked. “Your hair is curly?” And Mikasa’s confidence faltered a bit at Eren’s sudden observation. She quickly unraveled herself from him and unthinkingly grasped her hair that, sure enough, and unbeknownst to her, started curling. Before she could swim away, Eren grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to him, the water rippling. He reached up and grabbed a particularly curly tendril that had fallen into her eye — and he tenderly tucked it behind her ear. “It’s fucking cute, man.” But whatever courage she had a few moments ago had disappeared. So she did what she believed to be the only logical thing to do at the moment: splashed him in the face, caused him to sputter, and dipped underwater — eager to escape whatever look was in his eyes, desperate to hide her embarrassment. In the safety of the pool, she could hear his laugh overhead reverberating through the water. And when she finally re-emerged, gasping for breath and prepared to reprimand him for her teasing, she nearly yelped as Eren grabbed her and pulled her toward him again. Her embarrassment about her curls melted away as soon as she learned what Eren’s tongue felt like against hers.
