ash - solgaleo (would’ve been a ho-oh, since that’s a main focus but at the same time is it? also ash is pure sunshine... tell me otherwise and we’ll both blind you)

gladion - lunala (first of all - he already has TWO dark type pokemon that are very night-based and he out here performing the z-move with lunala later too)

kiawe - groudon (he loves the volcano on his island and is a fire-type specialist.)

lana - kyorge (big fish..... water......that’s it that’s my reasons aosdj)

misty - suicune or a lugia (even though lugia isn’t water aijaisodj)
