ykw i just went and rewatched the original karate kid again and it makes me sad how much cobra kai twisted and even went back the ideas in it
#like. the show takes this two way street approach where johhny and daniel have this rivalry when those guys were just beating him up! and#daniel fighting back is what equal play? i dont think so#yeah hes got a big mouth but at no point did daniel ever one up these guys until that last fight and AT THAT POINT#johnny took the trophy from the announcer just so he could give it to daniel! piss under the brigde until thirty years later i guess! then#we have to reopen cobra kai shit gets fucked daniel gets locked in a dog cage we all agree to be friends but yeah cobra kai is still here!#making fun of kids! like helllooooo????????????? am i missing something?????#not to mention how the karate kid movie is vaugly but definitely political in its approach to miyagido vs cobra kai#and the show takes this weird position like miyagido is soft and defensive only but miyagi is pretty hard on daniel at times when it comes#to training! but never cruel! he wants him to do well for himself! idfk maybe i domt get it but it such a strange thing#anyways. i still love daniel larusso best character pf all time ever. mother fucker!
