last movie: who framed roger rabbit. what if i told you this blew my mind more than like any recent movie with regards to just the inexplicable magic and mystery of filmmaking. i dont care about cgi how the fuck did they make this movie in the 80s!!!! perfect movie five stars

reading: the box by marc levinson for class. it’s non fiction about shipping containers so it’s pretty dry lol, just gotta get through it

watching: only murders in the building. just perfect cozy fall viewing!

consuming: had a teriyaki sub from subway 🥴

craving: oooh like a charcuterie/cheese board maybe….. i’m feeling fancy!

Sleuthing - Runs in the Family!

Valiant & Valiant are back! The Toon private investigation agency has returned to LA after famed detective Eddie Valiant retired in 1950. His grandchildren have continued his legacy by reopening the old agency, serving Toons from all over the state!

The new kids on the block are Bernie and Ernie Valiant, twins from a Japanese-American background. Fresh from graduating LAPD’s school for officers, the two rookies opened their agency in same office that the senior Valiant & Valiant used back in the 1930s and 40s.

Accompanying Bernie and Ernie is the son of Golden Age Toon actors Roger and Jessica Rabbit: Ransom “Randie” Rabbit! The Rabbits have been close friends of the Valiant family since 1947, when Eddie Valiant cleared Roger’s name of the murder of gag tycoon Marvin Acme. Young Randie seems to have broken tradition in his family by perusing a career in private investigation rather than showbiz. Good luck out there, Rabbit!

We here in LA wish Valiant & Valiant the best of luck in their endeavors. It’s big shoes to fill, so can the trio pull it off?

So we were watching Who Framed Roger Rabbit yesterday and my brother told me something that I had no idea of.

The reason the club where Jessica Rabbit performs is called the Ink and Paint Club is because in the early days of Disney, the ink and paint department was where all the female animators worked. It became a saying that male animators should refrain from “dipping their wick in the company ink and paint.” (Although Walt Disney met his wife in the ink and paint department so he’s one to talk.)

so i had suddenly seymour stuck in my head yesterday not the one from the actual musical because that would be 1. weird because i’ve never seen it and 2. too normal. no i had stuck in my head from the goldbergs. now i haven’t seen that particular episode in probably a month but i have seen every episode of the goldbergs a minimum of 10 times so it’s bound to happen. but i could not get this freaking toon out of my head and well the original happened to be playing later that night on cable and i said hey let’s just go and do em both and have a lil marathon. so i watch the original movie and then the musical movie. well actually watching it did not get the song out of my head surprise surprise. and falling asleep to the soundtrack on repeat sure didn’t help. so anyways it gets to be night again and i do happen to need to get up tomorrow and it just keeps getting later and later and i can’t sleep because of this banging tune. i mean i can’t sleep because i have insomnia but i also have this tune and it just keeps getting louder and louder i try to think over it and it gets louder and it makes me want to scratch my skin off and i’m already going through a sensory overload because you know the world around us is full of the sensory but it’s just making it worse and so i start writing this in my head when i’m brushing my teeth to try and cover up the noise and not scratch my skin off but it just don’t work and it just gets louder and i’m writing this now to try and get myself to sleep while my anxiety meds kick in so i don’t have a panic and now maybe the children’s benadryl is kicking in because that’s all we have and i can’t take the adult dose with it because i get horrible nightmares from it but maybe it’s kicking in and i’m reading this whole thing in the voice of what’s his face from who framed roger rabbit the guy that sucks but he’s a hero it starts with a v his brother got killed by a toon. i love roger rabbit. i hope he and his awesome wife are having a good day this is probably full of typos because i have dyslexia and my glasses might be off or on idk anymore

Netflix has decided to bring back the popular teen drama series for another season only weeks after debuting season 2! Check out the teaser they released with the announcement.

Oooo! So many spoilers! JK. Now what can we expect from season 3?! Well, first, don’t worry, I’m not gonna give you ANY spoilers on Season 2 in case you still haven’t binged it. I’d never do that to you. You know me better than that. Brian Yorkey- the show’s creator- will be returning as show runner. Selena Gomez and her mom Mandy Teefey are still executive producers. But sadly, Katherine Langford AKA Hannah will NOT be coming back in season 3. Many of the stars casts members had publicly begged the show’s writers to keep the show going, saying there were plenty more storylines to follow and teen issues to explore. And they got their wish. Filming for season 3 starts later this year. As for new plot lines, the show’s creator Yorkey shared some clues about his plans. QUOTE “I think the themes are sort of inherent in the action of season 2… What happened to Hannah will always be the first clause of the story. The rest of the story is about young people, as so many young people, maybe all young people today (learn) how to heal from the things that have hurt them…to make the world that they want it to be, not just the world they are inheriting…and above all, how to take care of each other.” What was that? Gun control? Young people should vote in the Midterm elections later this fall to help shape their world? I think that’s what he just said. Anyway, despite the show being a huge monster hit for Netflix, it’s definitely come with its fair share of controversies. After being criticized for its very graphic coverage of rape, suicide, drunk driving and bullying, the hit series added new title cards with advisories that played before Season 1 episodes and introduced a new level of warning beginning with Season 2. The streaming service also made a PSA video that autoplays in advance of the first episode in each season. Now given all the loose ends in the season 2 finale, what do YOU want season 3 to explore?
