Me: Hmmm I wonder if I should have been a linguistics major, kind of picked that one on a whim
Also me: *immediately turns everything into a study of phonology/morphology/syntax/dialectology*
#this in honor of i'm reading a historical document and the most exciting thing is that the author wrote 'sta eulària'#but also in honor of that time last year when i finished the linguistics major and just kept taking ling electives#and also took a history class with a friend bc it seemed cool and then immediately turned it into a study of language standardization#also when i read estiu primavera et cètera and exclusively read it because marta rojals is so so good at rendering spoken language#into written language#anyways yeah maybe i do belong in a linguistics department. maybe they should put me back in my natural habitat#perce rambles
