#this is about tangle the lemur. to be clear#-glances at issue 4 and metal virus arc tangle- she was so good there.#and she still isnt /that/ bad shes just. getting her own negative traits pulled up and emphasized in so many fics#where they dont do that to other characters#because the other characters arent Comic Relief and thus dont need to be turned into a walking joke#/despite/ already being interesting characters who can REMAIN interesting AND funny without. without#yknow i thought the ben 10 stuff was a faraway dream. like yknow people going ‘ben 10 is more of a psychopath than kevin because-#-he was regretfully willing to kill kevin when kevin was about to absorb a cosmic baby and control the universe while in mania’ couldnt be-#-real. but now im so sad at the idea that this is starting to happen to tangle in the way that. her clumsiness and recklessness are#played up to create problems which is interesting as a story tool but also. you are losing something else by doing that#and i miss that something else way more than i enjoy the plot device tangle#anyways triggered by reading a fanfic that cast tangle in a somewhat bad light when it didnt used to portray her as negatively before#recent issues came out. so im very sad. and also a general trend of not writing tangle as capable even when she would be#i like to pretend the neo diamond cutters as a name doesnt exist. <3 and that tangle isnt codependent on whisper (she has JEWEL TOO btw.#tangle and jewel are bestfriends too btw. if you even care) and that she isnt narratively punished for being a similar free spirit to sonic
