I guess I can pop in and talk about Esurience?  It’s my post-apocalyptic/epic fantasy about two different groups of survivors trying to survive after 99% of the population mysteriously disappears overnight.

It begins in Solvan, a country that relies solely on a combination of biotech and magic.  The first group is led by Nalaki, who is definitely not a dragon, who’s joined by Adrienne, former minister of history; Rivennae, Adrienne’s illegal magicless sister; Ashe, a light fae with a demon in their belly; and their sibling Lowell, who followed Ashe when they were exiled from Cress.

They meet outside the soon-to-be ruins of Solvan’s capital, Akata’sol’sen, and agree to travel together in order to find a safe place (and maybe figure out what the fuck is going on).  Which is easier said than done because, without people to maintain it, all the magic in the cities is going haywire and creating deadly storms that are quickly turning Solvan into a lifeless wasteland.

On top of having to escape their dying country, Nalaki’s group finds themselves hunted by a group of pale warriors from the north who seem particularly interested in her.  With none of them being fighters, they’re forced to avoid and outrun this group of Avin hunters on top of dodging the magical dangers that the Esurience world poses.

Their half of the story focuses a lot on inter-group relationships, including secrets held by some of the members, bad coping mechanisms raising their ugly heads, and in general the cultural bridge between the Solvani and the fae, and even the magic users with the non-magic user.

The other half follows Benji’s group, which is larger and more diverse than Nalaki’s, with a plot that’s only half as developed.  I do know that it involves a lot of the history of the world of Esurience and its secrets coming to the surface now that the people keeping those secrets have gone.

Group 2 features such lovable characters as Eli, former Avin slave turned Solvani general; Benji, Solvani councilman with Big Anxiety; Gerel, an escaped slave who comes to live in Orden (Solvan’s northern enemies); Gulden, Gerel’s partner in crime and cheeky half-giant; Serantara, a Solvani noblewoman with a better-than-you attitude and hypocritical world views; and Catkin, an insane light fae who’s desperately trying to find proof that the legendary sea fae exist.

At the moment it’s planned to be a comic (collab with my friend @kaligulas <3) but I’ve written out the first few drafts or so for like the first 2 1/2 books.  It’s...  I don’t wanna say it’s a dark story, but I think in places it gets pretty grim and touches on some pretty serious topics.  It does, however, feature Ashe regularly making a fool of themself and fun polyamory shenanigans in both groups :3c
