Holy fucking shit you guys so my friend and I were walking from a lecture and catching each other up on how our research projects are going. Now the special thing with these research projects is that we had the freedom to discuss literally any fucking topic we wanted to (as long as it can relate to a certain theme given by the course) so it's been pretty chill, my friend discussed the book he was analyzing and I discussed my project on A:TLA that I was finishing up on.

So after that we were just. making jokes and coming up with just actual crack shit possible topics that people should write about. I joked about someone writing a paper on the Heatwaves fanfic. My friend started suggesting other topics revolving around fandom and that somehow led to us just, intensely discussing the finer details of what a research paper on Omegaverse would look like (its origins, possible themes, how some aspects reflect misogyny in fandom spaces, etc.)

and apparently. I shit you not. one of the actual fucking professors from the lecture we just left walked up behind us (mind you we were walking on a very busy pathway so there's no way we would've noticed or heard him) and just. and just fucking says "OH! you guys are talking about Omegaverse?" and before we can even recover from the shock of 1. a middle-aged white guy who knows what Omegaverse is and 2. a fucking professor who just caught us openly discussing Omegaverse, he just. very earnestly recommends us this award-nominated essay from last year about analyzing fucking. brony fanfiction.

needless to say my friend and I were fucking speechless. humbled even. and as I was still processing what had happened in the last minute or so my friend spoke up for me and thanked him for the recommendation. And as he walked away the two of us started freaking the fuck out and losing our minds over our crack ideas becoming Reality.
