Yall i got super carried away

I wanted to draw some ideas I had of Trollex and Synth's parents and ended up with a sorta au and a little techno troll worldbuilding.

I like to think that Trollex was one of those kids that absolutely hated the idea of a sibling. One of those kids that gives the parents the meanest/most concerned side eye when he's first introduced to his sibling.

I think part of it is also cause Trollex had a very poor understanding of what a sibling was. Like his mom told him something like

"its like having a best friend for the rest of your life!"

"the rest of my life???" and he then thought Synth was going to stay small and crying for the rest of his life.

Idk I thought it was kinda funny.

But as they grow up they get more used to each-other and they argue(as siblings do) but they do end up becoming each other's best friend.

Anyway I imagine Synthia traveled a lot before meeting unamed other mom. Like her genre of music is still techno, just like techno adjacent?

Like I really like the idea of there being other smaller groups of techno trolls, like deep water techno trolls would be like maybe 2bit game-type music. Fresh water might be like idk techno pop, since they're closer to the other troll kingdoms. Oh wait no they're vocaloid.

Other mom is currently unnamed, I thought about calling her Beat-atrice like a play on Beatrice? She'd go by Queen Beat or Bea(Synthia would call her Bea) But idk, l'm still unsure. Anyway she's the Queen and I wanted her/her side to look more like Synth than Trollex cause i think it'd be fun to explore the feeling of a young King Trollex still trying to figure out how to rule without his parents' guidance and the fact that he looks so unlike his mom/past rulers would kind of be like the cherry on top yknow?

As much as he knows its foolish to think part of him wonders if Synth would be a better King than him, Synth is like the spitting image of their Mom/their Grandad.

When his mom was alive, she was always busy with Queenly duties and he never spent much time with her, (I have lore stuff for her too, I went a lil overboard) but one thing he does remember is that his Mom admired his grandad for being a good strong ruler. Thats why he's named after him. So he can't help but wonder if he's doing things right, if he's a good king, if his parents would be proud, if he's doing his grandfathers name justice and ruling the techno trolls in the right direction.

Uhh what else, I feel like Trollex would see his mom a lot in Synth. Mostly cause the 2 look so similar, but since Trollex never got to know his mom he doesnt realize that personality-wise he and his mom are super similar.

They probably would've gotten closer and formed a really tight bond as he grew up and was learning how to rule from her. Too bad that didn't happen.

Also Synth doesn't remember his parents. At all, he's seen their pictures so he knows what they look like but thats all he remembers them as, as pictures. It kinda killed Trollex when Synth told him that. Everyone else remembers them as rulers, but he remembers them as his moms, and even his memory of them as his moms have faded and warped overtime.

I have more tumbling around in my brain, most of it revolves around unnamed mom and her grandad/her family but I've got some ideas about Synthia's character and her life/family too.

Idk of I'll make more art or about it tho, might just write a bunch of words and post it lol.

- Sure he enjoys being himself but he, like many others, struggles with the concept of wanting to feel accepted.

- Now actually on the topic of style, he thinks it's also just really sick. I feel like he's not exactly the person to be super into how people dress all the time, but especially if he's dating you, he becomes mega invested.

- He will save up money to get you quite literally anything, like he's literally showing up with the world's brightest colored skirt and he's like "Is this the right flavor?"

- He's trying his best Istg

- He'll sit there and try to make Kandi with you if that's what you're into.

- Like he'll genuinely make an entire day if it truly, music blasting, beads strewn throughout his room with string also everywhere.

- He does occasionally still find beads in his room from that day and will send you pictures of it.

- He'll also spend time listening to you talk about your favorite bands, and might even get into some of them with you (if they're more similar to his taste)

- But all in all, he'll still love you the same, with a small bit of jealousy smashed in there on occasion.

Sorry I've been putting everything off for awhile, so uhhhh I might be spamming some stories for awhile.

Having Angel withdrawal again sorry guys :/ its time for some uhh… prologue stuff?? I think thats right. Anyway! As I mentioned in this lovely post, when sinners die the time it takes for them to wake up in hell and where they wake up depends on how they died. So for Angels case his body was formed in hell in a hospital bed cause thats where he died so theres like fibres and metal in his body from being formed around a hospital bed! This is also going to go into how regenerating and how injuries work so get ready! Basically whatever your body was originally formed and made out of regenerates eventually, you can have scars if theyre really big (uncommon since the injury usually kills you) but if you die again in hell they go away. Angel gets injured quite a lot and none of these injuries are permanent. That isn’t to say you can heal by killing yourself though! If you do die while injured there may actually be lasting complications since bodies in hell are typically made to regenerate while gravely wounded. Its kind of like a fucked up computer so if you have a broken leg and die by say snapping your neck the body may get confused and regenerate bones and such incorrectly. Or it may not! Its hell who knows! Ill likely figure out a more concrete plan and way that it works but at the moment I enjoy this aspect of hell to not have a random cheat code and instead include some body horror. Its hell so like some stuff is probably confusing right??

Back to Angel, later on around season 1 in the rewrite he also has throat surgery to remove his deformed inner fangs and those DO actually stay gone because certain hospitals in hell (usually expensive ones) have tools from sloth that have been permitted by Lucifer. Similar to how Stolas got that lust portal gem or whatever. Angels body wasn’t supposed to form like that and this is a common thing to happen with sinners that die “long-term” and that sounds confusing but it really just means sinners that die in comatose-esque ways like Angel. His body was dying over the course of months (December to March to be exact) so parts of his body formed over complicated or were underdeveloped like the aforementioned fangs (that were originally meant to form inside of his mouth and not his throat) that would randomly bare themselves and stab his own throat, paralyzing Angel temporarily. Other examples would be parts of his legs and smaller stomach.

This is the surgery Angel got by the way (expenses covered by Velvette but thats a whole other plot line)

On top of this I also wanted to draw Angel’s old markings (at least one of them). Prior to Valentino, Angel looked much similar marking-wise to his original comic designs where he was more purple and yellow with all the fun skulls and stripes. Though, with how contracts work in my rewrite, Angel loses the markings and they change into hearts after his contract and cannot return to normal after his contract is terminated. The same is true for Husker and Niffty. This whole piece is really just supposed to capture to horror of waking up after being comatose and you’re suddenly not yourself anymore and also not where you were for the past months and your entire anatomy is changed. Can you imagine waking up without bones??? In 1947??? Id have a breakdown personally!

I also wanted to use green for that sick gross feeling. Kind of the dread you feel before throwing up, but also to represent Angel’s later feelings of envy that I was unable to present in his design. I really like pink characters in green atmospheres if you can’t tell. If I think of more stuff to add to this post I will, but for now it’s just a lot of lore. Hopefully you all enjoy it!

hi! I've honestly been craving some qpr headcanons with Alastor as someone who's also aroace! The concept piques my curiosity so much considering most of the stuff with him is purely romantic (no offense to those writers, I just wanna see more qpr stuff! :])

Of course! But do forgive me, annon, I got so carried away with this 😅. I just really like Alastor a lot.

I ended up writing some backstory to your relationship first, but I highlighted the start of the proper qpr headcanons if you feel like skipping that.

Obligatory I'm sorry if this is ooc, I'm still getting used to writing about these characters. This is also all based on my own perception of him.

(Also, I am aware that qprs are very different from one another and there is no single mold for a qpr, I'm just going off of what I think it would be like with Alastor.)

Alastor queerplatonic relationship headcanons

(gender neutral reader, Alastor x reader)

‼️Trigger-warning‼️: mentions of cannibalism (not graphic), a single mention of tongue-kissing and making out (spoiler: he doesn't want either of those things in this work.) Usage of the word queer, but not as a slur. Alastor is a grandpa and you have to explain LGBTQ+ stuff to him, but he gets it.

› At first, before you were close, it's likely that he didn't see you as an equal.

› Truly, in his eyes, it seems not really is his equal. He is the most powerful overlord in hell and he knows it.

› Unless you are someone he holds in high regard (and this is mostly based on vibes, barely anything to do with power, as we can see by how he is with Lucifer of all people) before your first meeting, like Zestial, you won't be on equal footing at first.

› You only really start getting close when his perception of you shifts.

› You respect his boundaries, you are interesting, you and him share quite a few interests (or not really, but you're at least interested in hearing about his), and you're, surprisingly, pretty wise and mature.

› And caring. I personally believe he would be drawn to that in a way that he may not even understand fully- or realize it at all.

› Still, the point is. He respects you, and you respect him.

› (And not in the way some others do, where they're only "respectful" out of fear. You would act like this regardless of his power.)

› This, by the way, is important. You don't treat him like a superior, but as an equal.

› You'd think someone like him would love to be treated like a superior, and it's true. He very much does.

› Alastor also was so protective of you. You were the person he treasured most, after all.

› Even if you told him you were going to be okay, he would watch out nonetheless. He couldn't afford to lose you, not when he's never trusted and cared for a person this much.

› You two also cuddle a lot. You were the first one to ask, as usual, but now both of you feel weird sleeping alone.

› Alastor loves being the big spoon, if you're doing that.

› But he is also quite fond of occasionally being the little spoon, although he wouldn't be caught dead admitting it.

› A hobby you two do together is cooking. Cooking with Alastor is fun... especially if you're okay with cannibalism.

› But if you don't like that, he won't insist, of course.

› He's pretty good at cooking, though! If you're also good at it, then great. If not, he'll tease you about it (in a friendly way), but still teach you.

› On teasing, he teases you quite a bit, but never in a mean way. If you don't mind, of course.

› You also may tease him occasionally, but he doesn't appreciate you teasing him in public.

› The two of you also have a good amount of inside jokes that probably confuse the hell out of the others.

› Kissing... well. I don't really see Alastor as the type who would enjoy kissing on the lips too much.

› Tongue is out of question for him, as well as any sort of making out, but otherwise... if you like it, he can do that for you.

› He might actually like a peck or two. An acquired taste for him. Don't overdo it, though.

› Of course, him being from the 1930s and not very familiar with anything LGBTQ+ related, he would, at first, be somewhat confused by the request.

› You would probably have to explain to him that nothing is inherently romantic, especially not if you don't want it to be.

› "A kiss on the lips? Well... we aren't courting, Y/n."

› "We can put our own meanings to things, though. Would you like this kiss to be romantic?"

› "Definitely not!"

› "Well, me neither. So it's not!"

› "... That is very sound logic! I can't believe I've never thought of this myself."

› Kisses on the rest of the face are something else, though. He does enjoy it whenever you kiss him on the cheek. He himself might occasionally kiss you on the forehead.

› But overall I don't think he's big on kissing.

› If you want to really solidify that you're in a queerplatonic relationship you'd also have to explain what that means to him, sorry.

UHH ANYWAY SHAMURA REFERENCE PICTURE DONE!!!

I really do love Shams. As a person with a traumatic brain injury, I use my Shamura as a sort of way to process and heal the things that it does to me that feels alienating to people who don't have a brain injury.

Why do I wake up some days remembering very little, and some days remembering lots? Why do I have these uncalled for emotional swings and "outbursts"? You'd think after the scar healed and I became aware that they happen (and stay aware AS they happen!" that they would go away. Alas, they don't. Maybe one day.

As such, I let my Shamura experience a lot of the things I go through. They have epilepsy, too! Some days they are near, some days they are far, living with a mind who is a vagabond to themself.

That is to say, they aren't incapable by any means. Their siblings coddle them as mine do to me. They do need extra help at some things they would have been able to do before, though really they have reverted to who they were before the Crown ascended them (personality-wise): a calm and gentle person who enjoys to company of others. Maybe they will meet someone many times for the first time, maybe they will experience stories many times for the first time. Maybe they'll remember hard things and then forget them again. Maybe they will remember hard things and wish they could forget them, since they have to deal with the injury anyway.

These things are the things I experience, too. Things that a lot more people experience than it would ever seem. My only request is to treat them how you should treat any person- mindful, but not like they are less.

Okay guys so I'm gonna be totally honest here it's just gonna be me being a petty bitch and rambling about my first impression on tbhk S2 (from the POV of someone who got into it not a long while ago and stopped the s1 at ep 5)

I would LOVE to say I'm excited about this second season but honestly I am more worried if anything haha...

So...PURELY ANIMATION WISE the op didn't appeal to me like uhh I feel so bad saying that it's like disrespecting the animators but like I mean I just hate how awkward a lot of shots turned out. I mean tbhk's manga art style is like super awesome and it is surely hard as fuck to animate but I really don't think the "thick lines" (idk how exactly to describe ) anime style will do justice to the manga, especially when we consider the pretty action packed and more serious scenes that are to come! I can feel some really clunky movements coming already

Like in this part of the intro, when Aoi and Kane were running towards the group idk why but it felt so... awkward... also this kinda chibified anatomy really doesn't suit some characters.

Like it makes some design choices very questionnable..

Like look at him... Because of the head-bigger-than-body choice he looks a bit weird? Like to be honest he doesn't look like teru at all, if it weren't for his iconic features like the blond hair I wouldn't have recognized him. Where's his prince-ly look? Or idk I don't care if he ain't jaw dropping but his "sharp" vibe and whole hair silhouette is gone..

(I'm super sad like I cannot express how sad I am)

Same goes for Aoi, I don't like how she doesn't have the Aoi vibe, she just looks like some random character (also is it a curse? I feel like she always have shots where her anatomy is super strange like in the flower shot above. Super big head awkward hand position and all)

Even before her major personality reveal she looked less empty than the anime one??? Idk how to express myself

Again with the anatomy, I just genuinely hate it I don't even know why it's just awkward as hell to me ( I said that multiple times already I'm really sorry). The very detailed shading and colors of the clothes and background with this very kid like anatomy and thick outlines just throws me off, idk the characters don't really blend in with the atmosphere (I mean in closer shots, sure but distance/half body shots usually are there most of the time)

I'm sorry I just can't bring myself to like his anime design...the eyes and just everything are so off..

I have a lot to fear but I'm begging please do him justice this season

Baby face again (I mean the characters are young so I might just be a shitty complainer but I just think they don't look good)

Overall I'm super worried for the meaningful scenes in pp arc, they have like chances to be ruined because of clunky animation but I really don't hope so! I can already picture a super awkward fall off the building scene with Kou or super mega awkward escape of the perfect picture with like the bike not feeling fantasy at all.

Anyway I'm losing focus! Ofc there are some fluid shots in the op but I just have the overall feeling that it won't be super good

Sorry for complaining like this but I'm just sad about the adaptation cuz I think some really cool stuff could've been done with the banger base material that is tbhk, so much potential...

-> Tower makes a deal to keep the cafe open as long as a gun operative works there (more info in pic paragraph). ->Shadow is this operative (Tower thought it was hilarious) ->Shadow only agrees due to the fact he doesn't have to do paperwork and it counts as gun hours AND paid by the cafe. ->Both Rouge and Omega tried several times to become maids due to this deal. ->Nobody at the cafe knows Shadow is Shadow. He goes by Ruby. The headcanon is that Shadow is a black hedgehog who looks a lot like the celebrity so he leans into that for tips. Rouge thinks its the funniest fucking thing. ->The maid cafe is called Jewel Maid Cafe or something. All the girls have gemstone names. Right now the lineup is Peridot, Pearl, Opal, Diamond, Amethyst, and Ruby. ->Rouge was not hired because of Diamond (too alike). -> Point of this au is Shadow is forcibly adopted by wait staff, because they were the only ones "alive" after the cafe got raided. They get a lot closer, and Shadow is dragged along to hangout events until hes actually (shocking) friends with them. ->Despite Sonic and Shadow being together, Shadow did not tell Sonic about his continued employment at the maid cafe. It eventually comes out when the cafe is held up in a robbery. -> Shadow's identity comes out due to robbery. Peridot and Diamond reacted like "fair enough" everyone else was shocked. Personality wise, uhh Diamond -> Lemur, is fine with others knowing her name (yeah i totally know it haha totally). Hates working at the cafe (has worked there the longest). Gives "I'm too old for this" and yet shows up to some social events anyway. Slightly insecure because she's the oldest. The first to celebrate when the cafe burns down but also the first to throw down for her staffmates. Peridot -> Human, Names Harper. Graduated highschool and hightailed it to Mobius to get away from her parents. In college for Law, works full time to afford rent. Amethyst -> Dog, Nickname is Amy, Actual name unknown. Very chaotic/hyper, but doesn't invite others to her house. Cards close to chest. Opal -> Raccoon, Peridot's Roommate. Name is Comet. Also in college. Probably getting a degree in Psychology or Teaching. Pearl -> Rat, Actual Name Unknown- Working to help support her family. Doesn't tell them where she actually works.

Most of this was thought up on the spot, mostly just want Shadow + Wait staff shenanigans LOL Anyway, extra kudos tsuki, loved ur work ❤️❤️❤️❤️

You and Yone met through an online board long before he went off the grid- hell, you met long before Yone even became legendary!

While it wasn't the conventional way to meet someone, you couldn't help but become fascinated by him and all the discussions he participated in. It's not every day you meet a (kind) man so invested in the history of Japanese warriors, DJ'ing, cold brew, and meditating!

You've never met Yone in person, but you figured from his messages alone he was either an old man or a kind soul... Even both. Every email Yone sent you was well punctuated and wise. He always knew exactly what to say, to an extent where you didn't know if he was just researching everything he was telling you or was telling you something based on his life experiences!

The day Yone sent a photo to you was the day you were convinced he was an old man now. It was clear that the photo was printed when he took a picture of it. His long, black hair was neatly kept, and he stood tall and sharp in a suit... Not to mention, there were orbs on the edge of the photo, and his eyes were as red as a demon!

You knew, eventually, your anonymous pen pal would stop replying one day, but it still hurt all the same. For years, you wondered if Yone was okay. You wondered where he was now, what amazing things he was doing. You wondered if one day he would ever email you back again... You wondered if he was dead.

"Hey, Warrior! I know it's been a few years since we last spoke. I know you won't respond, and I don't carry any grudges against you for it. I just can't help but wonder: How have you been? Were you ever able to get that red motorcycle you wanted? Are you still DJ'ing?"

That was the first email in years you sent to him... And you couldn't help but find some comfort in having a one-sided conversation. In a way, it felt like it healed the past few years you were left wondering and waiting.

"Hi, Warrior! You won't believe what happened yesterday: I finally got myself to meditate for 30 minutes straight! I'm still not sure how you can do it for an hour, but maybe someday I can get just as good as you. Hope you respond soon. I miss you!"

It became a regular habit for you to email him, even knowing you would never get a response. But maybe someday he'll be able to see what's going on in your life. Maybe someday, he'll open up his emails and respond to you... It's just wishful thinking.

Waiting in line for a cold brew, it came as a surprise to you when you saw a man in front of you looking down at his phone, not even realizing that the line had already cut down to his turn to order.

i think yeah, if nina's gonna stay a "villain", the megamind thing is a decent fit. i could also just as easily accept an interpetation that, the villainy thing is almost more like. a hobby? like she does it just, as a fun thing to do with crash and coco and co., despite any protests. like they have a big battle till the machine of the week explodes, and nina goes "good job guys, same time next week :)", and assumedly coco is like "nina uh, could you actually not, maybe? nina?"

pairing this with the other ask (that im Assuming is also from you LOL but idk) just so i can get my full thoughts out, which are au,mm a lot . and apologies if they arent written especially well i do kind of think of these things as i write them so. be excited for run on sentences and a bunch of bullshit parenthesis

but see i get your complaint here. i know there's a disconnect from like, twinsanity where shes entirely mute to tag team racing where she DOES talk, and then to crash of the titans/mind over mutant they definitely all feel like slightly different characters. (not to mention the spyro/crash game she was first introduced in where she sounds like shes like 8 or something LMAO)

personally i enjoy her character in tag team racing the most but thats because she has SO much dialogue in it i think that it actually gives you a good sense of personality. but i also think that coco is the best personality wise in that game for the same reason so . (not that i think all of the characters in ttr are uhh. great🫩 but nina and coco def shine for me)

idk i also think tag team is good for her because it feels like it could fit most in line with her like lackadaisical attitude from twinsanity i can definitely see her still skipping around and like. having a good time. shes overdramatic and confident and funny. a little snotty but i like herrr ... i like her lil ugly ass❤️ shes shot two people ect

I Get It) but i actually like a lot of the plot threads brought up for her too. her doing well in madam amberlies and being the top of the class is good to me and it would make sense that you could interpret her being put in evil public school that after cortex kind of . attacks the head mistress in twinsanity gets her kicked out and after he gets tired of dealing with her in COT she gets sent there instead . so theres another thing hes ruined for her yknow. of course shes pissed off and hates her life now shes getting swirlies and physically attacked every day and she Sucks and everyone hates her . and its FUNNY. and i think that whole having her life ruined over and over could lend well to her becoming a good guy sure but i also think it lends really well into her feeling the need to Really be better than cortex as a villain. because shes canonically smarter than him already anyway i think being able to succeed him while being 'evil' in her Own way (and not the way hes trying to force her to be) would be important to her. i think she values the control that taking over the world would give her as well since shes never had that before! shes had every choice she could make ripped away from her just like her stupid hands. imo, i think she deserves to go crazier actually.

which isnt even to say i dont think she could become good eventually. i think once she gets her turn to be an actual villain instead of an asset and gets it out of her system with coco and crash and everyone she could kind of learn to Settle and be a little more normal.

my base thing with all this here is that i think if she is redeemed it has to be gradual imo. because cortex has been there her whole Life. hes hurt her and manipulated her in that more insidious way that he hasnt Done to the other mutants like crunch, and thats where shes different. she doesnt have the luxury of breaking out of containment from a lab or something because as far as shes aware cortex is all shes got! so her becoming more angry and stuff at her situation and kind of eventually realizing shes being used while also being Raised to be a bad person still i think is going to have a bad impact on how she moves forward before it evolves into her realizing she Can be a good person and be loved like that.

because! you know! she doesnt and has never had friends so she doesnt know what THATS like. has probably not been hugged enough as a kid bc i knowww cortex is conditional as fuck with his love (if you can even call the few times hes nice to her love) and even when he Does say hes proud of her for the evil things she does shes STILL punished for it which is in turn going to make her think she isnt good enough and overcompensate for it. he literally took her hands bc he didnt like that she got to feel joy from petting animals . she cant touch anyone without physically hurting them. so like theres noo way she isnt going to develop severe trust issues on top of that.

and this is just under the assumption that the bandicoots are treating her normally from the jump and are wholly Good and nice . bc personally i liked the weird one sided rivalry thing that coco has with her in ttr also where coco is like fuucking obsessed with her for no reason and is constantly trying to beat her. and i dont think coco IS a good person in the same unconditional way crash is (but i can get into that later) so i think itd take a lot of time for coco to want to open her arms and give nina the opportunity to change . and see that shes more than a villain trying to kill them? especially because for the most part i dont think nina would be willing to show that kind of vulnerability to her outside of extreme duress. LMAO.

THIS ALL BEING SAID of course this is also the less silly fun way of seeing these characters and more me taking everything too seriously i guess. and i DO want nina to have fun still ofc . i do see her interactions with coco and the others even when shes fighting them as like the singular positive thing going on in her life so i think she seeks it out a lot! because its banter and something physical to focus her energy on and even tho theyre on opposite sides shes being treated like an equal for once which is really good for her. its just that she assumes that the only way to Get that kind of treatment is to Keep Being Evil. which is also fun for her anyway like she clearly Enjoys being a bit of a menace even back in twinsanity so.

definitely the postal 1 dude. between him and p2. my computer refuses to download postal 3 and cant run 4 (probably just gonna watch some letsplays or something) so i haven't witnessed the whole gang in full, but i have a feeling he'll stay my favorite afterward anyways

P1 is my favorite due to the Vibes (even if redux is inarguably better gameplay-wise) and a big part of that aside from the art is his character :] that game is distinctly more serious than the rest of the postal games and i literally never ever get tired of the 'vaguely sympathetic homicidal freak' character archetype. i know the demon theory has lots of evidence going toward it but im a big fan of the additional journal entries that imply he's just a dude with paranoid schizophrenia having a really bad time. like a really bad time. 'guy who suffers from severe delusions about everyone being out to get him and crazy and sick with some sort of virus goes on a crusade to exterminate the 'virus' after being pushed over the edge by his life circumstances" is 1000% more interesting than 'uhh a demon is making him do it'. like i just feel sorta bad for him

I dont suffer from any sort of delusions myself but i have a good handful of friends who are psychotic and i just think it makes him a very interesting character. even if it does fall into the shitty "ahh! the schizophrenic guy is killing people!" trope. the journal entries outside of the loading screens make him write/talk like A Normal Person instead of trying to make him sound CrAzY or whatever and i really enjoy them. Because yknow. Thats how people tend to be in real life. a lot of this could be said about the other dudes too i guess, but since the games are less serious in tone its. yknow. harder to get emotionally attached to personally. so. theres all that PLUS im just VERY easily enchanted by men with long hair

Menus, Oct. 23-30

Several people were open to seeing my menu planning, and it's something I enjoy doing well, so here we go!

Notes: My dishes can all be gluten free (they are, for us) by using gf pasta (we like Rummo brand gf noodles and Tinkyada are good too). Otherwise, we're pretty generally low carb and most things are from scratch, but typically pretty simple. Most of these rely on root vegetables or beans for their carbohydrates.

Feta tomato pasta and sausage --This was viral on Instagram a while back, and I decided to try it. Now my daughter requests it pretty often. I don't make it quite like the original--mostly, I add some zucchini, double the feta, and add a bunch of Italian seasoning. This link is pretty much the same thing. They add shallots, which does sound lovely but costs a bit extra. I cooked some sausage with the meal because I didn't want to load up on pasta, personally, as I'm still staying very low carb.

"Bowl of the Wife of Kit Carson"--modified caldo tlalpeño--Pity poor Maria Carson, whose indigenous name I can't even learn, now remembered by her husband's name. That aside, it's a family favorite. We make it with the entire can of chiles in adobo, but that's a family preference. The avocados are pretty much the vegetable in this one so uhh...have plenty. I make the rice separate, both because that way you can vary it depending on your spice tolerance and because that way the rice doesn't suck up all the soup for leftovers.

Roast whole chicken, roasted mixed root vegetables, and garlicky kale. I basted the chicken with avocado oil (expensive but healthy; feel free to sub cheaper vegetable oil), seasoned it with a Penzey's mix I like called Ozark Seasoning, and stuffed it with rosemary, onions, and garlic. The root vegetables can be whatever; mine were yellow beets (slightly less "earthy" tasting than red, which might be more appealing to some), rutabaga, and carrots. Salt, pepper, and garlic powder is enough, seasoning-wise. And the kale, I blanch and then saute with a LOT of garlic.

Garlic parmesan white beans, brussels sprouts, and Gujerati carrot salad. I've not made the beans yet; they'll be a new dish for us. Sound great, though, and I'm trying to learn more meatless dishes generally and bean dishes specifically. We like to halve or quarter our brussels sprouts, depending on size, steam them, and then eat them with sour cream. And the carrot salad is a longstanding family favorite, which I got from my well worn copy of Madhur Jaffrey's Indian Cooking. This is almost the same recipe, but I don't add cayenne, and I wouldn't use olive oil, since it has such a low smoke point. I'd use peanut or canola or something. It's not spicy or "exotic" tasting, and it's been well-received at potlucks.

Pot Roast. There's no point giving a recipe for this one; just pick one that looks good to you. Just include lots of good veggies. I like carrots, onions, potatoes, and parsnips. It's fun to add a bag of frozen pearl onions, and I like frozen peas put in at the very end of cooking.

Tuna salad. I eat it over lettuce, the others eat it as a sandwich. Dinner for a tired night. My tuna salad is made with well-drained chunk light (in water), finely diced celery, finely diced green salad olives, salt, pepper, and mayo to bind. My family really likes the olives so I go heavy and also use a little of the jar liquid as a salt stand-in.

Deviled eggs and raw veggies with hummus. Another phone-in meal, or it would be if I didn't find making deviled eggs such a hassle. We all love them, but I have some inexplicable personal antipathy for how long they take to make. ANYWAY, my deviled eggs are the bestest, and you will not think so if you eat yours southern-style with (shudder) "salad dressing" instead of mayo, or sweet relish. No, mine are made with salt, pepper, mayo, and lots of finely minced green salad olives, and topped with paprika, preferably sharp paprika.

Pork tenderloin, frozen corn, and stewed apples and quince. Aren't we just POSH? Jacob got me a quince to try at the farmer's market. It's uh...well pretty much I guess it's like a rock-hard and fairly tart apple, with the granular texture of an Asian pear. They're generally eaten cooked, which is why I decided to stew it mixed with apples. So I just sliced the apples and the quince up fine (just leave out the quince if you don't have it which you probably don't, and maybe add a dash of lemon juice instead), simmered them in a couple tablespoons of apple cider (or juice; we had cider), and threw in a teaspoon of pie seasoning, a fistful of dried cranberries (the recipe called for raisins) and very approximately a tablespoon of allulose syrup. Obviously you could just use sugar instead. I topped mine with pecans and it was so so good. Oh, and also the pork: Usually two tenderloins come in a pack of tenderloins, so I put a different seasoning on each just for fun. Various blends. Lemon pepper and Montreal Steak Seasoning are favorites, but tonight I opened an unlabeled container in the pantry and discovered that it was rosemary salt the bestie made and left here, so I mashed it up with some garlic and put that on one, and did bbq rub on the other. The frozen corn....is frozen corn. Except, you know, microwaved.

So the setting kind of takes place in a universe where everyone has some sort of super power, mostly a hold over from an earlier version but honestly its so ingrained into how some characters like jasper an aj work that I dont wanna get rid of it even if its just kind of There. which is fine actually i like it. This is a somewhat recent development having happened around the late 80s / early 90s

The OCverse is kind of split into 3 friendgroups so to speak?

The youngest include Jayden, Lily, Sam, Anthony, and Rick, being elementry aged, around 8-10. Their stories are usually kind of adventure of the day sort of deals, I had a comic i was working on that i didnt end up finishing which was basically them playing in the snow before anthony tries to save someone who got caught out on the icy lake when the ice started breaking melting.

to explain all their personalities really quickly jayden is like the ideas guy shes very creative and good with coming up with like. games to play. or plans when they get into shenanigans and has a budding interest in fashion

Anthony is very. sports oriented for a lack of a better word? Like he does karate and soccer after school he tends to run into things head first which doesnt always work out he gets excited easily and big style

Rick thinks hes hot shit he talks a big game but he is in fact. like 9. BIG interest in music and like later on when their older convinces everyone to like. form a band for a school event. Hes the guy who knows a guy who said its true the 2nd floor bathroom is haunted and the kid whos haunting it died from bullies giving 'em a swirlie and now roams the halls revenge style

Sam is. ok well faksyan thank u for getting me into the life series shes like scar to meeeeee. silly but when she locks in she locks in. Moved in last year so shes the newest to the friend group and getting shown around stuff still

Lily is a sweet heart whos got a real interest in photography and local flora and fauna after a recent camping trip

uhh dynamics wise i always like to think of it as like. Sam lily and anthony are never afraid to get dirty where as Jayden and Rick will usually hestiate and go :[ :[. Jayden and Lily are the types to dress up as like disney princesses for halloween and Sam and Anthony will be in those inflatable dinosuars. theyre like a tight knit group and they look out for eachother :3 ...

Then theres the oldest group whos storys revolve generally around like. uncovering conspiracies is the best way to describe it like ah we stumbled upon someone whos planning to fuck shit up we need to stop them. This group includes the core trio Rosin, AJ, and Jasper, and then a further supporting cast which is a bittt harder to describe bc like unlike the youngest friend grip and the middle friendgroup that ill get to next, the older ones arent all one friend group but uhh. I think generally theyre all around 17-23 the problem is when I made Rosin and Jasper who are my oldest OCs they were my age so they USE to be 13 n its like. bwa what the hell,,. Anyways Core trio who gets focused - Rosin, Jasper, AJ Rosin - he's like. a hot mess in recovery. umm part of this is because he has origins in a game i liked when i was younger and when he took the jump to full OC his story got less brutual just by the nature of. not being dead anymore. He's Lily's older brother and kind of taken over the role of being her guardian bc their parents divorce got messy tm. whereas AJ and Jasper have a good amount of friends outside the trio rosin,, doesnt really. he likes all of jasper and aj's other friends fine hes just bad at socializing and kind of just stands there awkwardly if one of them arent there to carry the convo.

Jasper - The opposite of Rosin they have been eachothers ying and yang forever. Jasper is About to become a hot mess lol. He's very likable gets along with everyone! everyone likes him, right? some people pleaser tendacies uhh the powers havent been too relevant yet but jaspers is Light Manipulation that i take to be like oh he can create illusions and he gets very showboaty with it but also uses it for minor shit, like correcting his vision without having to use his glasses! he has made him power like an important part of himself it would be a real shame if something bad happened to it ^_^ AJ - i should be better at explaining aj. favorite child rights. He is the middle ground to jasper and rosins intensity hes a bit of bastard hes a lot more snarky then the either too hes chronically fatigued cause hes constantly using his powers to do like, both minor shit like charge his phone and more involved stuff like his crutches he can use his power to retract them for the sake of convenience if he needs to grab something or like pick 'em up from the ground if they fall somehow even though normal forearm crutches would def be fine. he choses the path of lease convenience always and forever until forced otherwise Further Supporting cast here includes Mike, Rose, Artemis, Grace, Meg and Bea and to like. MIDDLE FRIENDGROUPPP their stories are towards the end story goal of achieving godhood 👍‼ This mainly consists of Dee, Charlie, April, Austin, and Robin

Dee is the younger sister of AJ! she shares a lot of her brothers tendacies aside from the fact that shes a go getter. unofficial leader of her friend group when things go to shit its usually dee leading the effort to fix it n is probably the glue of the friend group

charlie is alot i love herrrr i need to make more, oc art in general but specifically of herrrrr!!!! she came to me while listening to stupendiums ad infinitum song and i was like oh i would love to have a character that is that intense. i think i told u this in dms its like my main way of getting her personality across but its like a cross between spamtom deltarune and sholmes dgs she is cartoonishly smart held back by the fact that she is moving at a million miles per hour she can making you a working ray gun shes got a conspiracy board in the back about some long running show shes watching she's probably gonna make a frankenstien spoof next week

April and Austin are twins, the younger siblings of Mike. if Rosin and Jasper are Ying and Yang i would say these two are Sun and Moon. April doesnt really have a filter shes gonna tell you exactly what she thinks of you and she wears her heart on her sleeve so you also know exactly how she's feeling. Youre not gonna treat her or her friends as shit unless your gonna put your money where your mouth is and she does roller derby ^_^ Austin is a bit more of a wall flower hes just happy to be included, gets scared easier and picks his battles more. Their powers are also like. inverses isnt the quite the right word but it gets the idea across. April can do transmutation fma style so if the materials are there she can make it and she can like shape it as is, and austin is that he can make anything that he can imagine! as long as he is asleep and it will go away when he wakes up and unfortunately for him he has 1 william sleeping disorders so he doesnt get to choose when that happens.

Robin, oh robin,, She is an anxious mess she is eternally grateful that she has a friend group that can put up with her and her tendencies to work her self up and psyche herself out (as she would describe it, her friends do not see it as "dealing with her" they like her thats why theyre friends) though it doesnt help that near the beginning of when the story starts her powers got fucked up and 'glitch out' now. she's got a interest in like 80s culture and retro stuff she likes older arcades and likes to collect older technology. shes also transgenda 👍happens halfway through the story (or it would if i had. enough story beats to justify calling this a story)

I've been posting art of these oc's from "fractured screens", an ava story me and @thechos3n1 (and another online friend who doesn't have tumblr) started writing a while ago, and I thought it was about time I explained their lore!

EDIT: ok so i ACCIDENTALY posted it before i finished writing all the lore,,, uhh whopps. Anyways im gonna edit it all on here a lottle bit at a time. When I'm done I'll reblof this again to put it at the top of my blog again ehehe

Ok so: (under cut for scrolling purpouses bc oh BOYYY is this a long one)

The year is 2009. Milo, a teen in his final highscool year, on His old ahh laptop. He was gonna animate something, but didnt have inspiration, so doodles this:

A blue stickfigure with cool acessories. He likes the doodle, so he decides to save it as a symbol before he deletes it. Yknow to look at later. And he names the doodle "the blue one". Because it's a silly name, for a silly doodle. Its funny that its such a dramatic title describing what is just a blue stickman. (EHEHEHEEEE MY GIRLLLLL TBOOO)

But then, as he saves it, the doodle come to life. And Milo is like, "Hey, What The Fuck???", because he doesn't know shit about animations coming to life, he just didnt come across it online or at all.

Milo wants to figure out what's going on, if this thing is really alive, and what is the extent of things it can do. So TBO is thrown around and put into life-or-death situations, and even gets killed and brought back from the symbol library one or twice- for the next two and a half weeks, and kinda gets victim'd but not really

BECAUSE 1. Some days Milo is nice to her since he's doing it out of curiosity only and not out of cruelty or boredom,

And 2. Because after two and a half weeks TBO's signs of Feeling Pain are big enough for Milo to notice (she's pretty small on the screen and the constant survival instinct made her stoic, which didn't really help him notice her distress) he stops doing the experiments completly and just lets TBO be.

HOWEVER. milo is not the only one who is using his laptop. You see, He's in an afterschool animation course, and he brings his laptop there. And in that course, of course (pun not intended), are other highschoolers. Who notice the moving lil guy on Milo's laptop pretty damn quickly. So they socially manipulate Milo (who's PROBABLY autistic btw) into letting them use his laptop :'D👍

The classmates (from the animation course) treat him "nicely" so that he thinks they're his friends, but then actually use him to interact with the VERY LIFE-LIKE stickfigure desktop pet on his laptop. Some of the classmates are nicer to TBO, some are less nice, and one in particular is just outright CRUEL.

On TBO's end, she can only see the humans on the other end of the screen as blurry silouettes- old screen quality was shit. She can't really distenguish between the humans using thr laptop. All she knows, is that this head-sized arrow is VERY UNPREDICTABLE personality-wise and often actually VIOLENT. also it's very extremly powerful, and while she doesn't seem to have any powers, it takes a great deal of effort to win a fight against that thing. (She gets more W's then L's though. TBO adapts fast. And she can fight rlly well.)

Fast-forward and a month or so passes, and two of Milo's classmates are arguing on which is better- Dragons or Fairies. To settle this argument, they decide to make a ✨️new character✨️ that is both a dragon AND a fairy!

The new character is named Fayma (or something like that), and OF COURSE they make it on milo's laptop, and of course they make him save her as a symbol to make her be alive.

[After talking with Fayma's ACTUAL creator, turns out she is not pink. Just purple and yellow. Uhhh whopps]

Fayma is... not very stable. She is both calm and energetic. Fairies and dragons have many contradicting traits, by how her creators see them. And they're forced to all exist in one person. She does have both fairy-like magic AND super-strength, though. Her and TBO... dont become instant friends. TBO likes predictability. Fayma is not that.

They just exist for a while, dealing with whatever the heck the humans are doing that week. During this era, while fighting alongside eacother agianst The Cursor-Shenanigan Of The Week (for a lack of another choice; TBO hates the added chaos Fayma brings into the fights), the both of them discover something new. Apparantly, TBO has... powers?! ACTUAL powers, not just the using-blue-things principal. (Continue writing later)

Until one day, while trying to use her magic, Fayma just. SPLITS. into two seprate sticks half her size!

Those two sticks, upon inspection, are Named Fay (for the fairy half), and May (for the dragon half). TBO makes friends (not close friends though) with Fay, because Fay's the less overwhelmingly energetic one and is "stronger" for her magic, and as much as TBO is an introvert she can't be THAT lonly for all her life. May tries to be their friend but uh she's too loud for em and Fay can't STAND her, so they just hang rlund differant ereas of the laptop.

Later, Milo's cruel classmate (girl) decides she wants to see Fay and May fight so she codes a command into Fay that makes her attack May. [Get Dark Lord'ed looser lollll] During that fight TBO sees how evil Fay is now and does NOT become May's bully!! 🥳🥳. Instead TBO sides with May to defeat (exile?? Delete???? Idk tbh) Fay. Juicy forced to betray her first friendddd yeahh!! >:3c Now only May and TBO are left there on the quickly-ageing old laptop. [Foreshadower?? I barely KNOW her!]

May and TBO are bonding from fighting Milo's classmates and the shit they throw at them for a while. Making sure they never get to change eachother's code (like what happend to Fay). They often fight, yes; May is a chaotic energy-bomb who yaps every chance she gets and never seems to lose her smile no matter how concerning the circumstance is. Meanwhile TBO is uh. Introverted stoic gurl. Who will punch may's face when she yaps. But they got eachother's backs, and that's whats important.

During this time, they notice a pattern to the times of day the human's more likely to be agreasive. When it's personality is less stable. They eventually notice the blurry silouette from the screen-side changes slightly evry time the cursor's behaviour changes. Slight details in colours and shape of the cloudy creatur. Every time the silouette swiches, the cursor freezes or jolts for a second. They realise the silouette controls the cursor; it is not alive on it's own, but a tool. What if, there is more then one of them out there? What if they are taking turns interacting with laptop? they theorieze. Of course, they are correct.

So they act. The two stickwomen open text documents and paint documents, charting out and describing each human that they see. Taking notes on their personalities, their intrests, their weaknesses. Which ones are harmless. Which are threats.

They notice Milo uses the laptop the most, and that he owns it. They find out his and the others' actual names from Milo's MySpace and Facebook accounts. They realise the photos on facebook are un-blurred versions of the sillouettes from the screen- That they are the same. This is what they really look like.

After a month or-so of detective work, they have almost all the classmates charted. Only the ones who show the least intrest in Milo's laptop are left. However, May and TBO still have fights regularly- they just can't seem to get along. And with TBO's protectiveness and May's high energy, it easily gets physical. Milo feels sad seeing them fight every day, and he just doesn't know what to do to help... until one day.

He has an idea.

And this idea is named,

The Heavenly One.

The idea is, that a stickfigure who's the perfect bridge between tbo and May, who's really good at peace-making because that is literally What She Was Made For, will FINALLY have those two make up, or at least stop battling eachother evry goddamn 30 minutes. So Milo names THO that because heaven is peacfull and perfect. But also it gives her EPIC LIGHTNING POWERS and an EPIC ANGEL FORM because uhhh mythology/religious connections between divinity and lightning are very common n stuff. Lets her back her niceness up with some power, yknow?

The idea works- THO makes friends with the other two, and because of her being HER, she is hughly distraught every time May and TBO fight, and jumps in to calm and seperate them. After only a week, they don't dare fight while THO is in vision distance. After two weeks, they stop fighting at all. They like THO that much. This also allows them all to bond even further, making the Trio genuine close friends. No, they're more then friends. They become eacother's FAMILY.
