i'm on my quest to become a more than superficial vampire enjoyer not only will i enjoy i will understand the aesthetics i will know the references and peruse the history ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
#anyways i started watching castlevania nocturne a while ago & i thought it was interesting + what i really liked was the animation style#i was tbd on watching the og series but i wanted something animated not for children to watch last night so i started the first 2 eps#and then ofc followed by obligatory wikipedia skimming of the actor list (main guy played claude becker in oceans 8??) and then i started#reading about Vlad the Impaler and i was like woahh ok so i actually know barely anything about vampire myths & history and it seems so#interesting and i guess bram stoker wrote his whole book and then at the end was like hm guess I'll give this Count Vampire guy a real name#and he perused some sources about Vlad the impaler and was like ok yeah lets throw this guy in there w a few random facts or not-facts and#now we have Dracula. wow ! so i guess once I finish a few of my in progress books I will read dracula and then perhaps some#more stuff about romanian history and maybe finally start my way through my vampire movie watchlist on letterboxd
