surprising dbf!Joel with lingerie
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warnings: big girthy age gap (unspecified), Joel puts his hand on her throat (no choking), teasing Joel in public, Joel Miller rendered useless by a bit of lace, reader is sort of innocent
note: Can you tell I bought new underwear yesterday? It's crazy how much more confident I feel in it, I just needed to write this. Enjoy, my loves <3
Joel always insists he loves you in your cotton panties, he says nothing is sexier to him than you in your usual underwear
He won’t let you spend your money on expensive lingerie (‘don’t go wastin’ your money on me, sweetheart, I enjoy myself just fine. Sides, ‘s ‘bout gettin’ you out of your panties anyway’) and won't buy you anything himself because that can’t be comfortable, ‘s barely even a string
One night he fucks you in your white cotton bra dotted in cherries, your cheeks warming when you realise you wore your ‘bad’ underwear, and although he sure doesn’t seem to mind, you make a mental note to buy at least one set of hot underwear
So you go on an online shopping spree, picking what your imagine Joel will like the most — nothing too darkly sexy, but rather lots of lace, light and girly colors, cuts that are revealing in a teasing way, that leave enough to the imagination for you to be able to hear Joel’s groan in your ear already
You keep more than just one set, and when you put on a white lace thong and bra, you feel incredibly sexy. It's not too forward for you, teasing and still strangely innocent despite your nipples showing through the thin fabric of your bra and your whole ass being visible. It feels naughty to put on your usual clothes over it
Joel’s eyes are glued to your shoulder during a neighbourhood barbecue when he sees some lace peeking out under your shoulder strap — you adjust your shirt and he drinks his beer quietly, holding your gaze, brows slightly furrowed
Should’ve asked me before buying that yourself, sweetheart, I would’ve gotten it for you, he tells you when you have a quiet moment away from the rest of the neighbours. You can tell he feels guilty for you using your own money, he usually gets you anything you just vaguely mention you’d like
So you tell him you wanted it to be a surprise, a little disappointed he already knows you’re all dressed up for him under your jeans and top, but for the rest of the afternoon his eyes don’t leave your shoulders and you think that maybe the anticipation makes it even more fun
You start to play with him, subtly move your shirt so that the lacy strap is visible. When you go to the bathroom, you adjust your jeans so that the little bow at the front of your new thong peeks out just barely
Joel’s useless when he spots it, he excuses himself from a conversation with your Dad to go to the bathroom, and you think you’re not the only one adjusting your jeans in there
When everyone’s going home and he’s sure it won’t rouse suspicion, you get a text from Joel: my place, 5 minutes. Don’t change
You make up some lame excuse about sleeping at a friend’s place, and leave your parents to it. Joel’s house is only a few minutes away, and as soon as you unlock his door with the key he gave you, he’s in front of you, all 6’3 feet of him
He doesn't even look at your face, his eyes glued to the bit of white lace peeking out from under your shirt, and with any other man it would make you roll your eyes, but something about Joel not functioning the way he usually would makes you excited
Before you can say hello, he starts toying with the the shoulder strap of your top, moving it to the side, his thumb sliding under the lace, tugging at it, his other hand resting heavily on your shoulder and caressing the side of your neck
Already you can feel heat in the pit of your stomach at Joel's quiet admiration, and when he mutters Jesus fuckin' Christ, you clench around nothing and lean up to kiss him, his mouth insistent and impatient on yours. You feel wanted, needed, when Joel leads you to the living room without breaking the kiss, one hand gently wrapping around your throat to stir you in the right direction while you're rendered useless by his mouth
Joel breaks away when you're almost at his couch, wanna look at you, angel, and starts lifting your top for you. All of a sudden you feel nervous he won't like what you picked, that he's a practical man through and through and really does prefer you in your comfy cotton underwear, but his eyes widen and you think he stops breathing for a second when your bra is revealed
He drops your shirt to the floor, and drags his hands over your skin, taking in your tits, which are barely covered by transparent, white lace. His thumb moves over your nipple, and an involuntary whine escapes you, the sensation of his touch over the fabric intense
Fuck, you're gonna kill me, babygirl. Did this for me? His voice is strained, like he's keeping himself from ripping your bra off your body and you know if you were to reach down, you'd find him fully hard. You want him to see your thong before things get too heated, though, so you smile up at him, press a sweet kiss to his throat
Wanted to look nice for you. His fingers are still toying with the fabric of your bra, constantly moving over your body
Always look nice, baby, but this is...shit, I need to fuck you in it.
You pop open the button of your jeans, and Joel's eyes snap towards your crotch, his bulge right in front of it, when you drag the zipper down. His hands are on your hips in a second, helping you drag your jeans down
You shaved for Joel, and your new skimpy little panties barely cover anything. What little fabric there is, is already soaked, just from Joel looking at you all hungry
Again, Joel traces the fabric with his fingers, mapping it out on your body, and when he realizes just how wet you are for him, he presses down on your clit, rubbing tight circles with two fingers
Although it pains you, you gasp wait, and he stops, lets you step out of your jeans, only in your underwear now. You take a step back and smile, letting Joel take you in completely
Spin for me, babygirl, he orders and you obey immediately. You hear him curse when he sees the fabric of your panties practically disappearing between your asscheeks, and you've never felt so sexy
When you're facing him again, he squeezes your ass with one hand, and teases your clit with the other once again. Gonna make you come in these before I fuck you in 'em
It doesn't take you long at all, Joel praising you, calling you his good girl, holding you up, before nudging you towards the couch and laying you down on it
He just drags your panties to the side, slips two thick fingers into you, impatiently preparing you for his cock, which is still straining against his jeans
Something about dressing up in lingerie for Joel while he's fully clothed makes you positively ache. It makes the difference in age more prominent – Joel, a greying contractor wearing what he probably wore thirty years ago, and you, his pretty, young, soft babygirl
The contrast is exhilarating – lace against flannel, naked skin against rough denim, gruff groans mixed with soft whines
When Joel slides into you, the stretch is familiar, and you sigh at the feeling. Been waiting for it all day, you whisper, wanted you so bad at the barbecue
It makes Joel curse, fuck into you with more force, shit, baby, y'look so pretty for me
He fucks you deeply, eyes constantly on your bra or panties, watching his hands toy with your nipples, or his cock disappear inside of you, sliding against the thin fabric of your thong
It doesn't take either of you long to come, Joel forcing his cock all the way inside and holding it there while he spurts rope after rope of cum inside of you. You tremble around him, clench and unclench, dragging every last drop from him
Afterwards, he lets you lie on top of him the way you like, strokes your skin, toys with your bra strap and waistband, presses soft kisses into your hair
I've got a light pink set, too, you tell him and yawn, hiding your face in the crook of his neck, and smiling when you feel his spent cock twitch against you. I'll wear that to the next family dinner you're invited to.
Joel swats your ass lightly, and you laugh, feel his own chuckle rumble in his chest. You're gonna kill me, angel. Old man like me, I'll have a stroke.
You rest like this for a while, quiet, enjoying each other's warmth, but after a while Joel's lips caress the shell of your ear, his voice making goosebumps appear all over your skin when he speaks
You know y'don't gotta shave for me or put on something fancy, though, right? You tell him you do, that you just wanted to surprise him, give him something special because of how special he always treats you
I ain't complainin', baby, just don't want you thinkin' I don't love you just as much in those little cherry panties of yours.

Oh God.. uuhhhh.. been a minute since I tried one of these..
Skipping 1, hate first person, just can't do it, not even read it.
2 is 100% AndlĂ tkyn. There's some issues here and there but it will always be my pride and joy.
Due to not posting on AO3 (even though I really should be), 3 is mostly ineffective. Except Wattpad has tags. I'd say UTAU, dragons and crossover.
4, lol. Literally. Lately I keep using that (only when texting others) and it's bothering me. I feel like a simpleton because of how much I'm saying that, eugh.
5 I've honestly learned a lot while researching fics. For one, I found out lantana berries are toxic to humans yet taste like blueberries, and I have them growing in my backyard. They're actually my favorite plant! I love their flowers; so pretty, and they have such a uniquely funky smell as well. Part of why I adore them, it stands out so much without being a bad smell. And the leaves have a sort of citrus smell? I love lantanas.
6 I don't know. I've thought about requests due to the money, but I feel like I'd either struggle to start writing it or get carried away with it- or straight up not finish in a reasonable timeframe. Commissions? Like art commissions? Maybe in a few years when I'm more confident in my skills and also somehow have a drawing tablet to properly draw digitally. Something like that.
7 Either or. I love making sickeningly sweet coffee or various different teas.
8 Is honestly hard to decide! Off the top of my head I can think of Dust initially meeting Killer with the hilariously absurd question of "What do you mean you don't have a mouth? How are you speaking right now? Your ass?"
9 Believe it or not it was basically when I first got a phone and commented a short story in the comments of a YouTube video. Someone replied with a suggestion of Wattpad. The rest is history, lol.
10 Off the top of my head I can't think of anything beyond something very specific for the fic I've been thinking about again lately, Ninjagaësia. Only time I've written outside of the UT fandom too, I specifically want to get around to writing that version of Zane more. What I had planned for him is fun as hell. An absolute badass.
11 Lots of comments, votes and people enjoying it. Which, continuing the above mention, Ninjagaësia doesn't qualify for. Pretty unsuccessful, but for once I don't really care.
12 Undertale AU's. I doubt I'll ever leave, either.
13 No. Hell, my ultimate fic of AndlĂ tkyn was written throughout the later half of highschool. I am technically working on an original story on the sidelines, I call it my worldbuilding project because I'm building up so much lore in this world before I actually touch on the story itself outside of a vague idea. About 60-ish different species of people, including the were-diseases. Last I counted, anyway. I'll be working on it for years, I know it, and I don't mind that either.
14 Comments talking about my fics on said fics. Actual interactions! It brings me joy. 🧡
15 My family is well aware. I don't bring up a lot of details but the last time I went into vague detail with my mother it was over a scene in AndlĂ tkyn (no direct spoilers) and she interpreted it weirdly and now she teases me by asking if I'm killing babies again! A bit awkward..
16 Actually finishing a damn story. I don't mind the periods of no writing until I get inspired again, but what annoys me is when I can't seem to finish anything. Only ever finished AndlĂ tkyn. I still have yet to write anything for the sequel to it, either! ZeradelsĂda is still just a bunch of loose plot points..
17 I am semi successfully writing benevolent eldritch horror. It doesn't intend harm, but it is truly.. horrifying nonetheless. The uncertainty of someone knowing he died, feeling his own heart stop beating, and feeling something OTHER seep inside and force it to start again, pulsing in his veins, fusing with his anatomy, permanently altering both him and itself into something completely unknowable.. I'm rambling. Anyone who hasn't seen my Wattpad, read Awakened. If you don't mind ridiculously long fics, read AndlĂ tkyn too!
18 I have at least 7 I mostly expect to finish, with at least 4 others just kind of.. there. I don't think I've posted any of those, either. I also have ideas inspired by dreams that I'd love to write down someday, though don't really expect to actually codify.
19 I kind of just don't. I work on different projects as the inspiration hits, take a backseat for a month or so, then come back to either the same project or a different one.
20 Hmmm.. Hard to think of something specific. I'm leaning towards stuff in AndlĂ tkyn. I don't really have a favorite kiss scene because I don't do romance. I write adventure! AndlĂ tkyn has some side romance though- not that any of it is my favorite. Platonic stuff, though.. I'd say my favorite is honestly Lust and Alter incidentally befriending each other and becoming venting buddies. It's the cutest thing, their friendship is adorable and wholesome despite the background angst. I didn't write nearly as much of them as deserved.
21 Honestly it's mostly lack of inspiration that I'm pretty sure stems from depression. If I could get an ADHD prescription or depression meds I'd probably be a lot better but like. I am completely broke. So much so that those issues aren't even in the top 10 of pressing problems solved with money.
22 Given I've literally only done it once.. not really. I guess I post it around everywhere I can think of in excitement?
23 That one continuous dream I had that went on over a month centered on a Nightmare that was freshly corrupted. He was honestly so nerdy and adorable despite putting on the brave and mildly "evil" front. The boy. Him. Goddamnit I want to write that at some point.
24 Honestly I can't think of anything for this one.
25 Oh yeah, I can't think of anything off the top of my head but there's a lot I'd like to fix in all of my stories, lol.
26 Kind of? It's a more recent development, did it for Zeradelsída which still has yet to be written, did it for that Ninjagaësia too. A little bit of a broad, even vaguer outline for things I want to happen in Awakened, too? More like events, no particular order or connection.
27 A few of those WIP's that haven't been posted... Okay technically just one. There's also the very first fic I wrote that is subsequently the only one I've ever deleted.
28 Angstiest often coincides with cursed for some reason, so I'll just go with the ending of AndlĂ tkyn for the Apple Twins.
29 I kind of just.. don't. If I do, I start hating everything, and because I'm not THAT bad at spelling and grammar I think it's mostly fine the way it is.
30 Oh absolutely. It's particularly obvious when one looks at AndlĂ tkyn, which I wrote over the course of 4 years. Really neat transition, if I ever manage to do it, I'd rewrite the beginning a little to match the rest when crossposting to AO3. If I ever get around to that.
31 Again, AndlĂ tkyn. That fic is my baby, man. It's so precious to me.
32 Honestly I don't know for this one, which is weird.
33 100% Ink of Awakened. My little boy. I have some friends that would rib the hell out of me if they ever found out, lol. Thankfully the main one doesn't even remember that he has a Tumblr.
34 I was not expecting how hard of a question this is! I thought it was Andlàtkyn, but thinking about it.. I don't think so? It might simply just change depending on which one I'm currently fixated on, but at the moment I think my favorites to get that on is Awakened and Ninjagaësia, second of which already has basically nothing to begin with.
35 I don't have anything, oof.

Danny&Dan, Black, Solstice, clove @to-lost-futures
Post the comic teenager Dan.
The chain link fence around the roof of the school rattled as Danny let himself fall back against it. The posts squealed rustily when Danny rested his elbows on the railing in a way that should have concerned him, but eh, he could fly. He tilted his head back and looked up at the cloudy sky instead of at his moody companion who’s space he was invading.
The smell of the clove cigarette was oddly heavy on that cloudy day.
“You know, those things are going to kill you.”
Dan barked out a bitter laugh and took another purposeful drag.
Danny rolled his eyes. “You know what I mean.”
Dan didn’t answer. He usually didn’t. Danny tried to think that as alright, hearing his own voice out of Dan, in that bitting tone, was still hard for Danny most days. But Danny kept trying to talk to Dan anyways. Kept trying to connect.
“Is that a Vlad thing or something?” Danny asked. “I sure have never wanted to smoke and I don’t think Mom or—”
“Don’t,” Dan finally snapped. “They’re not my parents.”
“Uh, dude, you’re me so they really are your parents.”
“No.”
“Yes. Yep. Uh-uh—”
The fence rocked behind Danny’s back.
“Then why the fuck don’t I get to see them?!” Dan yelled as he hit the chain links. “Why do I have to cut my hair differently and wear glasses and tell people my name is Eddie!”
“Dan—”
“I have to walk past that building and Tucker’s house and Nasty Burger like they aren’t mine too! And I have to do it all while being Eddie!”
Danny yanked Dan into a hug. The cigarette burned at the back of Danny’s neck before Dan startled, moved away for a moment, and then back to cling to Danny with a sort of desperation that Danny hadn’t thought either of them capable of.
“I hate that fucking name,” Dan sobbed into Danny’s neck.
“It really is awful. It sounds like some deadbeat uncle who works for the mob in Chicago. Not even, like, a good mob job. He just handles the dry cleaning. Here ya go Boss, all clean of blood. Even got that sauce stain out and had thems use that ocean fresh scent ya like so much.”
Dan choked a laugh back. “Fuck you. I hate you.”
“Yeah, I know.”

Going off your wingleader!Liam idea
Liam and reader are third-years and total couple goals. A first year comes in and starts flirting with reader every time he sees her. He doesn’t know she’s dating his wingleader. She’s polite but doesn’t mention Liam.
One day during training the new guy is watching reader and running his mouth about how hot she is, nudging other guys in his squad and making all kinds of remarks, even going so far as to make a comment to Liam. Liam just smirks, showing off those cute little dimples, as reader walks over and kisses him in front of everyone. New guy just stares in absolute shock (and horror when he realizes the woman he’s been objectifying is his wingleader’s girl.) Need a fic like this immediately 😭
I love this so much. I don't have the bandwidth to write this into a whole chapter but I DO have ideas. so here they are. (future Liz here
I got very carried away. but it’s Liam, so it’s fine.)
this guy clearly thinks he's hot shit. not even bonded yet, but his ego is bigger than Tairn's. so of course he goes after you, a third year with a leadership position at the top of your class. (because Liam's girl is as perfect as him.)
at this point you're used to these boys coming in and trying to flex on everyone. so you know how to brush it off. it's so routine that you don't even mention it to Liam, because you've got more important things to do / discuss.
anyway.
a couple weeks go by of the same thing, until one day, mister confidence is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. running his mouth without realizing who's around him, watching you demonstrate something and making comments to his friends instead of paying attention. Liam's about to elbow him and tell him to shut up, and then he realizes that they're talking about you.
immediately, he's upset — he's just itching to tell this guy off, both for talking when he's supposed to be listening to directions that could save his life, and also for saying those things about you, making comments on your body and how much he wants to... you know what I’m getting at here. anyway.
you can see Liam standing at the back of the gym, can see the visible frustration on his face and the way his jaw is clenched, his shoulders tight and tense... and you know it's hard to upset our sunshine boy, so something bad must have happened.
you wrap up the demonstration, get the youngins paired up to work, and then you slip away to Liam and give him a little kiss, because that’s your default greeting, that’s just automatic at this point when you see him, and take his hand and ask what’s wrong.
and then all the stress and tension just fades out of him, and he gives you a genuine smile, pulls you closer and holds you in a way that makes it clear that you’re a couple.
normally he isn’t one for PDA, so you’re a little surprised, but you don’t question it at all, just happy to cuddle up with him, resting your head on his shoulder and taking a moment to relax — his presence is always so soothing, and you don’t get moments like this very often in your very busy days as a wingleader and a section leader.
you don’t even notice the boy’s slack-jawed look as he realizes that you have a boyfriend. you’re too busy appreciating the moment you get to spend with Liam — but over your shoulder, he’s definitely smirking at the kid, like
get fucked, she’s mine. not that our boy would ever say that. he’s just thinking it really hard.
he gets a little pouty once you're behind closed doors, though, and tells you about it.
you laugh, and remind him that the first year boys can look all they want, but he's the only one who can touch, and if they do, they're going to get their nose broken. and that he's the only one who can set foot in your room, because you absolutely warded them like Xaden and Violet's.
that pacifies him, but he’s still thinking about it for the rest of the day.
he doesn’t consider himself particularly possessive, but he realizes that he just wants people to know that you’re his — or more so that you’re together and in love, and you’re it for each other.
the pair of you have always been focused on the present, the incredibly stressful lives that you lead here at this death trap of a school. but now he starts really thinking about the future.
you’ll be graduating soon, a pair of lieutenants headed off
somewhere. he hasn’t decided yet. he’ll get his choice, being a wingleader. but what about you? section leaders aren’t promised anything. there’s only one other way to guarantee that you’ll stay together
and damn, does he like the idea of you having matching name patches on your flight jackets.
but you deserve a real proposal, a romantic one, not something rushed, decided out of practicality. and when is too soon in your relationship to talk about that? you’ve been together since your threshing, but it feels like a lot longer than that — everything you’ve endured has brought you closer, he supposes.
you curl further into his side with a sleepy hum. “what’s on your mind?”
he’s about to tell you it’s nothing, but you know him better than that. “you have that look on your face,” you mumble, your eyes still closed. “know you’re thinkin' about something.”
“about you," he answers honestly, lifting the arm you have slung around his waist and finding your hand, taking it in his. it fits perfectly, your skin smooth against the callouses and scars decorating his hands from years of making his carvings. a dangerous hobby, you’d joked. you have a point. he’s amassed more tiny injuries from his own knives than from anything Basgiath has put him through. “about us.”
“yeah?”
“yeah,” he answers, his thumb brushing over your ring finger, where a wedding band would go. “about the future.”
“two kids and a cat,” you murmur. “and trips to Morraine in the summer. rent a little house on the lake for a week or two, and just lay around.”
“sounds perfect.”
you just hum in reply, too tired to keep talking. Liam presses a kiss to your forehead, pulling the covers a little higher. “I love you.”
“Love y’too.”

Baby Preparations
Sam and Dean & pregnant little sister!reader
Requested by Anonymous
Synopsis: you’re pregnant, that’s literally it, that’s the plot
Warnings: short and sweet, pregnancy and tooth-rotting fluff
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Sam!”
Your voice calling out Sam’s name had him doing a 180, heading back from the direction he’d came to find you. You were sitting on the floor of the War Room, and instead of the usual newspaper clippings and lore books, there were dozens of paint sample cards.
“You need something?” He asked.
You held out your hands to him, as if you were 6 years old again and asking to be carried.
“I can’t stand up,” you huffed. At Sam’s light snicker, you scowled. “It’s not funny! I can’t move!”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” But Sam couldn’t keep the grin off his face as he helped you to your feet. “How’s my nephew doing?”
“He kicks like he’s a dang Winchester,” you grumbled, rubbing your stomach. “And every time he moves I have to pee, and he—“
“Ok, ok.” Sam stopped you, holding up his hands in surrender. “I get the picture, and I really don’t need to know more.”
“Coward,” you scoffed.
“Hey, when it comes to my baby sister’s pregnancy, you bet I am,” Sam admitted.
“Has anyone seen my pie?” Dean’s question could be heard before he even entered the room, a quizzical and grumpy expression on his face.
“The baby wanted it,” you answered, drawing an eye-roll and a huff from your oldest brother.
“Is that always gonna be your answer?” He demanded.
“Not always,” you admitted. “Just maybe another two months until this guy is eating his own food, not mine.”
Dean face twisted, but he didn’t argue—he never did anymore, and you took full advantage of it. Sam saw right through how you were playing Dean like a kazoo, but he didn’t comment on it; it was too much fun to watch.
“Fine,” Dean grumbled. “I’m gonna go on a run.”
Without a word, you pulled a piece of paper from your pocket and handed it to Dean.
“Again?” He demanded. “It better not be full of weird snacks again.”
“Last time wasn’t that weird,” you insisted.
“I’ve never bought so many pickles or marshmallows in my life,” Dean scoffed.
“It’s marshmallow fluff, not marshmallows,” you corrected.
“Remind me why I’m doing this again?” Dean asked.
“Because my stomach doesn’t fit behind the steering wheel anymore.” You grinned. “And you never let me drive Baby anyway, so you get to make the runs.”
“Fine,” Dean caved. “But if I see orange-flavored beef jerky on here again, I’m throwing the list away.”

“Hey Sam?”
Sam glanced up from his lore book to see you still staring at your paint samples.
“Yeah?” He asked.
“I can’t pick a color. Can you help?”
Sam shrugged, ditching his book and coming to your side.
“You really can’t pick?”
“I just
” you huffed. “I want it to be perfect.”
“I don’t really think the baby’s gonna care,” Sam argued.
You were quiet for a long moment, and Sam watched as you started to pick at your hands.
“Hey.” Sam’s hand over yours stilled you. “What’s got you all worked up?”
“I mean
we-we never got anything like this. You know, the rooms and—and a house. But Charlie will
and I want it to be perfect.”
Sam smiled—he loved hearing his nephew’s name, the one you’d chosen to honor your best friend—and rested his hands on your shoulder.
“Charlie doesn’t need the perfect room paint to have a happy childhood. He already has so much more than we had—he has a home, and he has a wonderful mother. He’s gonna grow up so happy—it’s not gonna be like how it was with us.”
“Ok.” You took a deep breath. “Ok, thanks Sam.”
“Any time. And you should totally choose the green.”

SSA Emily Prentiss is perfectly wonderful. Garcia thinks so, and so does Morgan. Sure, they miss Elle, and they miss working with her, but leaving the BAU was something she’d needed. Besides, Penelope wasn’t letting Elle out of the team’s outings anyway.
So, the two of them really have nothing against Prentiss. She’s kind, good at her job, and fits into the dynamic of the team well. However, at the end of her third case with the team, something of interest happens that makes them start to plot against her. Lovingly.
Tumblr media
Morgan’s on the phone with Garcia, letting her know that the unsub was in custody, when Emily comes up to him, tapping his shoulder. Without hanging up, he draws the phone away from his ear, turning to her questioningly.
“Morgan. Can I ask you something? About Reid?” At his sound of agreement, she plows on.
“Does he
He’s so young. Do you think he’s had the social experiences he needs?” She shakes her head slowly. “He’s so sweet that it makes me worry. I mean, a kid going to university at 14, that’s got to make you miss out on a lot of things, right?” She gestures to Spencer, and Morgan turns to see him.
Spencer is fiending off the officers mobbing him with thanks and congratulations for his breakthrough on the case. A smile creeps up on Morgan’s face, watching him fiddle with his hands and bow his head nervously, trying to find a way out of the group.
“I mean, yeah, Reid’s a little clueless in some ways, but I don’t think it really affects him too much. He’s learned to adapt quickly.”
Emily frowns, still looking at Spencer. “I feel like there are things everyone deserves to experience, you know? He hasn’t been able to do so many things because he’s achieved so much. I mean, he’s never even dated someone, has he? Did you see the way he handled that witness?”
Morgan bites back the urge to laugh uncontrollably. Earlier in the case, Spencer was interrogating a witness, Morgan, Emily and Gideon watching through the one-way mirror. He recalls the way the woman grabbed hold of Spencer’s patterned tie, twisting the fabric in her fingers with a sly smile. Spencer, the sweetheart he is, had recognised the flirting, but did his best not to mention it, pulling his tie out of her grip multiple times as he stuttered through his questions, until Gideon came in to save him.
Morgan recognised that for what it was, Spencer’s incredulity that anyone other than you, the person he’s so obsessed with, would ever try something with him.
But Emily, poor, sweet, Emily, had assumed the same thing the rest of the team had, years ago. That Spencer was nothing more than an inexperienced nervous wreck, that had never even kissed a girl. Morgan shamefully remembers the time he’d been proven wrong of this same assumption.
Emily’s face is so earnest, that Morgan almost doesn’t want to pop the bubble, disturb her impression of Reid. Instead, he just pats her shoulder with the hand not holding his phone.
“Trust me, Prentiss. Reid’s missed a few things, but he’s fine.”
Walking away from her, he remembers that he didn’t hang up the phone, bringing it up to his ear to hear Garcia speaking rapidly, clearly having heard his exchange with Emily.
“-and she doesn’t know! Oh my god, you hunk, wouldn’t that be so good? She’d experience what we did back then and-” Morgan cuts her off.
“Babygirl, what? I didn’t catch that first bit, who’s going to experience what?”
Garcia takes a deep breath, and Morgan can picture her smile. “Okay, I know you're always thinking, ‘what is the wonderful thing about having the most beautiful and brilliant woman you’ve ever seen in your life?’, and, sweetheart I’ll tell you. It’s that I have a wonderful, wonderful brain, and I have a plan we have to set in motion.”
Derek sighs, but he knows he’s all in before she even says the word. “Alright, princess. Hit me with it.”
Tumblr media
Garcia insists that the plan must be unfolded in three stages. Three stages, in order to make sure that Emily’s introduction to you will be just as bewildering as it was to them.
Stage 1: Confirmation.
Emily’s assumption of Spencer’s inexperience had to be nurtured, demonstrated to her, to lull her into a false sense of security, the way the team had for far too long.
Morgan and Garcia begin just one week after the case, a paperwork day where the team is confined to the bullpen for hours. Emily is sat at her desk, across the aisle from Morgan’s, when Garcia walks by, a phony excuse for her presence spilling out of her mouth.
“Just got to drop these files off to Gideon!” She speaks too loudly, to no one in particular, and Morgan groans internally at her unsubtlety. Emily quirks an eyebrow at him, but he doesn’t say anything, even when Garcia taps her nose in a very exaggerated manner.
No time to cover up for her, Morgan’s got work to do, and a time limit to boot.
“So, Prentiss. You’ve had three cases here so far, you’ve gotten to know the team. I wanna know, what are your impressions of all of us?” Emily narrows her eyes at him, but swivels her chair so she’s facing him. Bingo.
He grins as she leans forward, speaking lightly. “My impressions? What, you want me to profile you guys?”
He holds up a finger. “Ah ah ah. I’m a profiler too, don’t act like you haven’t been doing that to us since the day we met. Now, tell me. Why don’t you start with, say, Reid?” He winces internally, hearing the eagerness in his voice. Despite that, Emily replies readily.
“Well, I’m probably just going to tell you things you already know. He’s brilliant, insecure, anxious about not only himself but us, worries about his mother all the time. Socially unsure of himself, especially in non-professional settings.” As she speaks, Spencer walks into the bullpen from Gideon’s office, accompanied by Garcia, whose eyes are filled with poorly-contained mischief.
“...and, my good doctor, she was flirting with you! Didn’t you see the way she tried to give you coffee for free?” An expression of puzzlement flits across Spencer’s face, looking at Garcia as he grips the file in his hand.
“Garcia, why are we talking about this again? That happened weeks ago, and I still don’t think she was doing anything more than-” She cuts him off with a palm facing him, barreling forward with her rant, eyeing Prentiss blatantly as she speaks.
“You never think they’re doing anything more until they’re the ones gripping those little ties of yours. Spencer, you don’t think anyone is ever flirting with you!” Prentiss nods at Morgan, speaking under her breath with a smirk.
“Uncomfortable in non-professional settings, especially romantic ones.” She sits back in her desk chair, swivelling away as Garcia ushers Spencer to his desk, ignoring all of his questions.
Spencer sits with a huff, confused. He pulls out his phone surreptitiously.
SPENCE <3: They’re being weird. Again.
Tumblr media
Garcia has filled JJ in, and she is ecstatic. She still remembers the horrifying embarrassment that she hadn’t realised something so huge about her best friend. It might be a little juvenile, but it will definitely bring her a little comfort if Emily, profiler extraordinaire, makes the same mistake.
It’s five days later, and they’ve moved onto the second phase of the plan.
Step 2: Doubt.
Garcia has decided that sowing seeds of confusion, the way the team had been confronted that one time at the bar, was the way to make sure Emily has the full experience of being one-upped by that infuriating man, according to her.
JJ’s role is the whisperer, making sure that Emily witnesses suspicious activity. She’s taking this immensely seriously, Garcia having impressed upon her the responsibility of this guise.
Walking past Spencer’s desk, she shoots a glance at Emily, confirming her distraction, before speaking into the room, “Everyone had a good day off yesterday? Spence, went to that exhibit at the Living Museum?”
A dreamy smile flashes over Spencer’s face, before he makes sure to school his features, allowing only a small grin to remain. “Um, yeah. We went to go see the aviary, they’ve got some new Southeast Asian birds in.” Yes. JJ resists the urge to smirk, but her hopes are quickly dashed when Spencer moves on without a word. “I think Gideon would really enjoy it actually, I’ve been meaning to
” She groans internally, tuning out of his meandering ramble about bird migration patterns. There’s no way Emily clocked that tiny ‘we’.
JJ isn’t one to give up easily, though. Any good plan requires patience, so she waits another day before attempting again.
The team is on the jet on the way to a case, and JJ is sitting strategically at the table with Emily, Derek, Spencer, and Garcia on the grainy laptop screen. Garcia’s hands fly around animatedly as she finishes describing the state of the case.
Hotch raises his head from the case file, proceeding to assign everyone preliminary tasks, when JJ nods at Garcia subtly, and watches as she begins to rush around her office in a whirl, finally snatching up her cell phone. It’s a wonder that no one else notices the rush of movement on the screen, leaving JJ holding her breath, hoping that Emily or Spencer don’t catch wind.
Finally, two minutes later, Garcia sits back down at her desk, feigning nonchalance.
“Yep! Okay, sounds like you guys all have it under control, so— I’m going to go, do my techy things in my techy room. Okay? Garcia out!”
The image of her disappears from the screen, and JJ grips her mug tightly, fearing that Garcia gave it away. Gideon chuckles, but other than that, it seems that everyone has written it off as a regular Garcia-ism. Thank god. Hotch continues his spiel.
A few seconds later, Spencer’s cell phone rings, the ringtone different from the one everyone is used to hearing when he’s called by one of the team members, but JJ recognizes the 8-bit rendition of Vivaldi’s Summer that you helped him set up for your number.
She can see Emily tilt her head from next to her, but JJ resists the urge to look up, keeping her eyes trained on the case file in her hands, and nodding along with Hotch’s words.
The sound of Spencer rustling around for his phone meets her ears, and the subtle sigh of happiness that he lets out when he sees the caller ID. The beep of him accepting the call and standing to walk to the kitchenette float through the cabin, and the whispered ‘excuse me’ when he walks into the curtained room.
JJ can almost hear the confusion radiating from Emily, knowing that the newer agent’s utterly baffled at the sight of Spencer missing out on the discussion currently happening.
She can only pat herself on the back for having maneuvered Emily into the seat closest to the kitchenette, too, because the way she stiffens when hearing Spencer’s saccharine-sweet voice say ‘hey, angel’ is just the cherry on top.
JJ whips out her cell phone, texting Garcia discreetly that the plan was a success, receiving a flurry of emojis in return. Unseen, Gideon looks over her shoulder.
In the kitchenette, Spencer furrows his brows, confused.
“Wait, Garcia told you I needed to talk?”
Your tinny voice flows through the phone and into his ear.
“Yeah! She texted and said you asked for me but wouldn’t call for some reason? I don’t know, it was strange. You know I don’t call you when you’re on a case, but I thought it was an emergency or something.”
He sighs heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.
“I told you, they’re being weird! I asked Morgan what was going on and he just laughed.”
Your matching sigh rings out. “If they’re not going to tell you, I think there’s nothing to do but let it happen until it comes out. They always tell in the end, anyway.”
His shoulders slump in annoyance, but he begins to nod.
“I guess you’re right. It’s still annoying.”
Tumblr media
The case wraps up four long days later, and the team pile into a booth at O’ Keefe’s all in similar states of sleep-deprived delirium. Spencer would much rather be at home right now, but Garcia was persuasive as usual, crooning on about how ‘your ladylove gets you every day, can’t you give us one evening?’.
Despite his love for the team, their increased strangeness hasn’t abated over the days they were working.
Even now, JJ, Derek and Penelope sit across from Spencer in the booth, huddled around each other and whispering behind cupped hands. Granted, they weren’t this obvious over the last few days, but their drinks have only weakened their resolve to not let Spencer and Emily in on whatever they’re doing, not broken it.
Making up his mind to ignore them, Spencer has resorted to leaning into the other end of the booth, chatting idly with Gideon, Hotch and Emily. Hotch is smilier than usual, three beers deep and showing them a seemingly endless amount of baby pictures of Jack from his wallet.
He can’t help but smile at the grainy photos of the chubby baby, grinning to himself at the memory of the last time he saw Jack.
He’d been leaving the office to meet you, and ran into Hotch and Haley in the elevator, stroller in tow. The image of you excitedly waving at little Jack, holding out your hand and letting him grip on to your index finger is burned into his brain. He’ll probably never forget it, eidetic memory or not.
The multiple drinks he’s had allow a lovestruck look to settle on his face as he half-listens to Hotch’s tales. They also make sure that he doesn’t notice the puzzled look that Emily flashes at him, same as the ones she’s been sneaking for days now.
However, no amount of drinks can let him ignore the strange way that Gideon is acting. The stately profiler is normally rather talkative on nights like these, subtly teasing the team or devolving into long tangents about an old far-fetched story.
Tonight, however, he’s silent, merely nodding along to Hotch’s words.
Spencer can’t help but be weirded out, especially when he catches Gideon looking over at him with an expression of repressed mirth, as if he knows something Spencer doesn’t. It’s slightly infuriating, the way it feels as though everyone is keeping things from him these days.
He knows it’s not exactly the smartest thing to do, but he offers to go to the bar for another round of drinks. If they’re going to be weird, he might as well have something to help tide him over.
Tumblr media
You’re at home when Gideon calls, informing you that Spencer’s gotten more drunk than usual, and it’s probably a good idea that you come get him.
As you pull on your coat, you can hear Spencer ranting loudly about Rachmaninoff in the background, laughing to yourself when Gideon assures you that he’s fine.
(Curiously, you hear an unfamiliar voice question Gideon, ‘Who’re you calling?’ before he hangs up.)
Arriving at the dimly lit bar, you crane your neck to try and glimpse Spencer and his coworkers, coming up blank.
You’re just about to call Gideon again when a suspiciously swaying, lanky individual catches your eye. Sure enough, Spencer is standing by a wall, gripping a glass in both hands and staring into the middle distance, seemingly alone.
Pocketing your cell phone, you make your way over to him, feeling a familiar infatuated smile start to bloom on your face.
“Hey, handsome. You here alone?” He blinks rapidly before focusing on you, eyes widening dramatically.
“You’re here! How are you here, I thought-” He hiccups, the action causing his entire body to wobble, your hand shooting out to steady him.
“I thought you were at home!” He takes the hand you have on his waist, tugging you closer until he can drape himself against your side, tall frame hunched over you.
You have to giggle, widening your stance so you can support the two of you as you look around the bar, hoping to find any of his coworkers.
Unfortunately, you come up blank, assuming they're in the booths towards the back that you can’t see. Sighing, your hand comes up to rub at the nape of his neck, causing Spencer to sigh happily, bending even further so that his face is buried in your hair.
“Spence, where’s the team? We’ve gotta say goodbye before we go,” You murmur softly, feeling him relax further and further. His voice is higher than normal, muffled due to his refusing to raise his head from yours.
“I dunno, they’re sitting
somewhere, and Emily said she’d come find me after I came here. Did you know, she listens to Eric Carmen? I was telling her about the lawsuit Rachmaninoff’s estate filed against him, and
”
He must keep talking, you can feel the vibrations against the crown of your head, but he’s shifted his face to where his mouth is pressed against your scalp, taking with it any hope of understanding his words.
You’re waiting patiently for him to finish, when a dark-haired woman catches your eye. She stands a few feet away from you, peering at you curiously, as if trying to suss something out. Her face is obscured due to the shadowy lights, but she looks vaguely familiar.
Stopping your ministrations on Spencer’s neck, you entreat him to look up.
“Hey, do you know who that is?” He raises his head with a heaving sigh, as if it’s taking all his energy. He nods once, before returning his face to your hair, snatching your hand and placing it on the back of his neck again.
“Yeah, it’s Prentiss.” He falls silent after that, but at least he gave you something.
You’ve heard a lot about Emily Prentiss from him, although you haven’t had the chance to meet her yet. Waving her over, you smile brightly.
“Hi! You’re Emily?”
She walks over to you, expression wary, until she catches a proper glimpse of Spencer’s face, at least, what’s visible of it.
“Reid? It is you
” Her face is bewildered, confused, looking at you.
“Sorry, who are you?” You stick out the hand that Spencer isn’t holding hostage, shaking hers.
“Hi, I’m Y/N, his girlfriend. It’s really nice to meet you, I’ve heard great things from Spencer and the others.” She looks more stunned, if that’s possible, but stutters out a greeting.
It reminds you of the time you met the rest of the team, the way they’d stared incredulously at you when Spencer introduced you. Thinking back to Penelope’s multiple texts confirming that you weren’t coming tonight, it seems you’ve figured out why they’ve been acting weird.
You can’t help but smile pityingly at her, knowing how she’s feeling. Gesturing at the man clinging on to you, you give her an out from the conversation.
“I think I should be taking him home. Would you mind telling the rest where we went? I don’t want them to worry.”
She nods wordlessly, watching after you as you slowly lead Spencer out of the bar and into the night.
Tumblr media
SSA Emily Prentiss is a profiler. A spy. She’s accustomed to learning everything there is to know about an individual within a few days of knowing them. It’s for these reasons that she stands, dumbstruck, in the middle of O’ Keefe’s.
Spencer Reid has a girlfriend. And she didn’t figure it out??
She resolves to go back through the profiling notes she’d taken in her time at the academy. Maybe twice.
Shuffling back to the booth, she’s stuck in her head, eyes wide and thoughts flickering at ten times their normal speed. It’s clearly noticeable, Derek looking concerned when she slides into her seat once more.
“Prentiss? Are you okay?”
She reaches out to snag her beer, turning the glass in her hand. Her voice is low, still confused as to how she missed it.
“Spencer’s girlfriend came to take him home.”
Her words incite identically incredulous squawks from JJ, Morgan and Garcia, all of them incensed.
“You met her? She wasn’t going to come tonight, we had a plan!” Penelope exclaims in frustration, looking around the table.
Gideon merely shrugs, his amused half-smile finally emerging.
“Plan took too long. Took it into my own hands.”
Morgan has to hold Penelope back from lunging at him.

dreamland: the rough patch
Tumblr media
authors note: idk. i wanted to write something. this is what came out of my opening google docs. been sitting on this concept for a while anyway, so why not?
not really tagging anyone, cause idk, this is too short for a taglist. if ya see it, ya see it. 😭
warnings: angst
*** gif belongs to @dejameflorecer ***
words: 1.7k (see, i can write short shit!)
The door being closed does nothing.
It muffles, but it doesn’t sound it out completely. Doesn’t provide the soundproof barrier prayed and hoped for by Leya who sits on her bed, her baby sister pressed up against her side, the story book of the night on her lap.
Though something tells her that Aroha isn’t paying attention to the tale of a beautiful princess and the handsome prince who came to save her.
She’s paying attention to something else entirely.
“And the princess said to the prince—”
“Leya?”
The minute Aroha’s soft voice interrupts Cataleya from finishing her sentence, she knows what’s about to be asked. She just does.
Leya does her best to maintain her smile. “Yes, Roro?”
Aroha’s previously neutral expression slips into something solemn and almost fearful. “Why are mommy and daddy fighting again?”
Leya’s eyes shut.
She knew it.
Knew it was only a matter of time before it was asked. Aroha may only be five, but she has eyes. Eyes that can see every time their parents avoid eye contact or minimally interact when in the same room. Can see every time it’s Leya who knocks on her door to read her a bedtime story cause mommy and daddy are “busy.” Ears that can hear the arguing that’s transpired more often than usual for their parents.
Arguing that’s been happening the past two weeks. Increasing in frequency. And intensity.
But, Aroha is also only five, thus she doesn’t need to know all the ins and outs. Truth be told, Cataleya doesn’t either. She tries not to think too much about it, as it spikes her own anxiety. Causes her to face what could be a devastating reality.
A knock on the door leads to it opening, followed by a set of faces. Leya and Aroha’s siblings. All of them.
And, they all look the same sans Tama and Lina.
Worried.
Wordlessly, the kids load into Leya’s room, Lina closing the door behind them. Samaria is the first to speak.
“They’re fighting again.”
Leya casts a glance over to her twin, grateful for her sudden presence. Lina has always been much better at handling things like this.
“Couples fight sometimes, Aria,” she supplies, forcing a small smile. Leya and Tama see right through it. “It happens.”
Koa is the first to speak up, poking a hole in the defense. “But, they’ve been fighting a lot.” He looks over at his twin, prompting Kai to supply his own counter as well.
“And mom and dad never fight.”
Leya doesn’t say anything. That’s not necessarily true. She’s definitely seen them argue on an occasion or two.
But
.never like this.
It’s never been like this.
“They’ve just got a lot going on, you guys.” Tama attempts to cheer up his younger siblings, seeing the worry on all their faces. “That’s all.”
But, it’s Aroha who says and voices what all of the Reign’s kids are secretly thinking, just afraid to say.
Looking up at Leya, Lina, and Tama, her biggest siblings, she asks in the most innocent, heartbreaking voice, “are mommy and daddy gonna get a divorce?” Just hearing it makes Leya’s stomach drop. A shared sentiment for all the kids.
Still, she does her best to remain calm. “Aroha
.” Cataleya closes the book, pulling Aroha onto her lap as the rest of the kids sit on the edge of her bed and the seats spread across her room. “Where—where did you learn about that?”
Aroha pouts, her voice so soft and sweet in nature. “My friend Raya’s mommy and daddy got a divorce, and now she only sometimes sees her mommy and sometimes sees her daddy.” Aroha’s eyes begin to water, followed by sniffling. “I don’t wanna live with mommy or daddy. I wanna live with mommy and daddy.”
“Oh, Roro
.” Cataleya welcomes her into her chest, allowing her to silent cry, to let out her emotions. “It’s gonna be okay.”
“Mom and dad would never get a divorce
.right?” A tentative, nervous question asked by Samaria but issued to the OG’s.
“They would never split us up,” Kai says with a level of conviction that wavers and fumbles as he too falls victim to his fears. “Right?”
It’s only then when the indecision washes over to Lina that she takes charge. “No.” She says, voice firm, drawing the attention of everyone to her. “Mom and dad are not going to get a divorce. No one is separating us. We’re a family, and that’s never going to change.”
Tama nods, recognizing that even if he’s struggling with his own anxiety about the unexpected onset of his parents' marriage problems, there’s no need to worry his siblings more than they already are. “Lina’s right. Mom and dad love each other. They’re just going through something. They’ll figure it out.”
Words that seem to somewhat settle Samaria, Koa, and Kai. Aroha requires a little more consolation from Leya, gentle kisses pressed to the top of her bonnet covered head.
But, as the Reigns’ children work to comfort each other, the cause of said distress continues, thrives, prolongs longer than necessary down the hall, behind closed doors but never out of hearing distance.
Not from the children.
“Roman.” Solana closes her eyes and rubs her temples. This all feels so circular. “I don’t understand what you’re not understanding.” Because, she truly doesn’t. “I’m just asking you to commu—”
“Communicate with you, I know,” he cuts her off. Solana focuses on him. He looks just as exhausted as she feels. “I heard you the first time, Solana.”
“Then why aren’t you doing it?” She snaps, shaking her head. “Why do I have to keep repeating myself?” Without giving him a chance to respond, she continues, pointing out, “it takes five seconds to text me and tell me you’ll be home late—”
“Yeah, well, sometimes I don’t have five seconds, okay?” He cuts her off once more, running his hand over his face. “I text you when I can, Sol. I always do.”
She scoffs, looking away before crossing her arms. “A half hour after dinner time is not soon enough, Roman.” She points out what was an issue once again just earlier this evening. “I’m worried about you. The kids are wondering where you are—”
“They should know I’m working,” he counters, adding with a level of a defensiveness. “You should tell them I’m working, so they don’t worry.”
“Yes, of course, I’ll just add it to the list of the other 50 million things I’m doing.” Solana says with all the sarcasm before switching back to seriousness. “Roman, I am stretched so thin right now—”
“And you don’t think I am?” He challenges. “Why do you think I’ve been getting back so late?”
Solana hesitates to respond, readying for a generic answer but ultimately settles on the truth. “I don’t even know anymore.”
If she didn’t have her husband’s attention, she most definitely has it now. Roman’s face drops. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
She doesn’t say anything at first, partially wishing she hadn’t let the intrusive thoughts win. But, with the genie out the bottle, there’s no backing away from it now.
“You’re secretive. You come home much later than you have before. You
.you don’t talk to me like you used to, and and you—you haven’t touched me—” She stops herself, hating the emotion building up. One minute she was angry with him, and now she’s on the brink of tears. “I just don’t know what’s going on—”
“What are you accusing me of, Solana?” A pointed, straight-forward question that he answers for himself, the devastation, hurt, and anger all palpable. “What, you think I’m fucking cheating on you? Is that what you think?”
Solana shakes her head, standing up from the bed. This is too much. “I can’t do this right now, Roman.”
“No.” He stops her, moving before her, blocking her path from the bathroom. Her destination. “We’re gonna have this discussion right now—”
“I said I don’t want to, Roman.”
“I don’t care.”
The wrong answer, because as saddened as Solana was before, she’s irritated now. Stepping past him, she stalks over to her dresser, pulling out a change of clothes. “I said no, Roman.” Swallowing, she turns around and matches his intense gaze. “You used to listen to me when I said that.”
A slap in the face. It’s evident in the hurt that flashes in his eyes. That’s heard as he replies, evenly, “and, you used to trust me.”
A devastating blow. On both ends. One that renders both silent for a good moment or two, before Roman is back at it.
“Solana, we need to talk about thi—”
“I can’t, Roman—”
“Avoiding it isn’t going—”
“They found something when I went in for my mammogram.”
Probably the most unexpected thing to leave either set of mouths and most definitelysomething Solana didn’t want to share. Not right now. Not like this.
Because the look on Roman’s face is something she can barely stand to tolerate. His tone and volume have shifted almost entirely. “Wh—what?” She looks away, the tears finally spilling over. “What do you mean they fo—”
“I have follow up testing next week, but in the meantime, I need to not deal with all this stress.” She clasps her hands together, taking a deep breath, voice cracking at the end. “So, when I say I can’t deal with this shit right now, Roman
I can’t deal with it.”
Solana could and maybe should give him more than that. Should elaborate on what is easily the biggest bombshell he—and she—have faced in a while. If, she’s even facing it, because the fact that she’s been sitting on such a thing for almost two weeks speaks volumes. Roman’s correct in that they need to talk, need to sit down and actually try to conversate without it turning into an argument.
But, not tonight.
Tonight, she can’t and won’t think about anything.
Because thinking about it means confronting what could easily be a terrifying reality.
One she refuses to acknowledge.
Not
.not unless it becomes something.

How the 141 handles long-term relationships
Warnings!: Nothing, other than a reference to Simon's dad. Just silly fluff to tide my sillies (you guys) over until the new chapters of the big boy fic(s) are done :)
Also: Price isn't included in this because I wrote a fic where he's an absolute asshole and accidentally made myself dislike him. Might add him later, idk.
Simon Riley is not nearly the stern man everyone thinks he is when he's at home.
It's kind of funny, really, but he's quiet, and he is stupid in love (assuming he already trusts you as a partner, which, if he's dating you, he does). Something like a cat, really.
He wants to be in your vicinity, always. He wants to know you're safe and okay at every hour he can, but sometimes he can't handle all that lovey shit.
This is why I do think Simon would spring for someone who is very quiet, and not very touchy. He adores that, he really does. It would be even better if you didn't mind having a big, bulky man staring at you while you work for hours on end.
It's to the point that, when the rest of the task force comes over, they aren't sure if you're a roommate or a spouse(?) until they see Simon gently bump his forehead with yours, watch how he follows you the same way a prissy longhair will trail after its nonchalant owner.
Price pulls you over that night and tells you that you have his full permission to marry the lieutenant. Simon hears him, but he doesn't say anything.
Another thing: He wants desperately to take your last name. It doesn't matter if it's stupid, he wants it so badly.
He's a bastard even with a father who was a bastard. His name links him back to corpses and an abuser, he wants to be rid of it. He won't ask, but if you do, he cries.
You've seen Simon cry before. You have. Mostly after nightmares, the especially bad ones. This is nothing like that.
He cries of joy before you twice. The first is when you let him take your last name, and the second is on your "wedding" day.
There is no ceremony, just a short trip to the courthouse. He cries anyway, watching you sign the papers, pulls you into a firm hug as he sniffles into your shoulder, tells you how much he fucking adores you.
He won't let you forget that. Ever.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Johnny MacTavish is a harder task.
He's always one very predictable sort of way in his relationships: Playful. Loving and witty, always ready to tease.
Sure, there are days he's tired, days he's beat to the bone and he just wants to collapse and let moss grow over him, but he sees you and he gets a shot of something divine.
It doesn't matter who you are, really. Sometimes he needs you to match the energy a little, but other than that, he could get on well with any partner, as long as love is reciprocal.
Weddings, though... it depends.
This is where most of my more personal headcanons come into play here. I really think Soap's family is very Catholic. And that Soap is very bisexual.
If his family doesn't know (assuming the relationship is straight, too), it's great! It's a packed venue, sure, but it's raucous in the loving, familial way.
Soap wears his best kilt, cries a little as you walk down the aisle and kisses you so long his mother smacks him over it.
If not (he got kicked out, presumably years before)... it's much less fun.
He still adores you, truly, but, again, it's a bit solemn for him. Seeing you, perfect you, ready to marry a man who has no family left who wants him, it's a nasty feeling.
Johnny sees you the way he thinks everyone should. You're a person, yes, but of practically biblical levels of perfection, in his eyes. You've put up with so much, done so much, and you want him.
He won't ever get to show you to his mother, or his sisters, or his cousins, but he wants to. God, does he want to. He just knows they would have adored you, as they should.
But he can't. And it bums him out, it really does.
Still, he takes your face into his hands, and kisses you like the sinner he is, pours himself into your silhouette like he could somehow peel your ribs apart and find a space near your heart, to sit and love you for as long as he can.
No one is there to smack him for taking too long, and you hold him. And that's enough.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kyle Garrick is honestly the least challenging to end up in the good graces of.
He wants, more than anything, a peer. Someone who he can talk shit with and feel good confiding in.
So, of course he fell into a relationship with you. How could he not? Look at you. Brilliant, he'll say that. Brilliant, and an absolute menace with the silveriest tongue he's ever seen.
Again, like most, he's not really crazy about getting married. Not while he has a job so risky and at his age. It's more of an eventually, he feels no pressure to lock you down so fast, he already knows he has you, and that's enough for him.
This is most of the reason why the engagement is so long. I'm talking several years. Yes, multiple years. Moved in together, got a pet or two, even the rings.
And it's great, everything he could ask for. He comes home to a brilliant partner every day he's got the time, and he always wants to see you, because you're you. You can discuss, you can debate, and you can pull him over and tell him when he's being stupid.
The partnership works. And it keeps working.
At some point, you two were effectively married in everything but law, so you just forgot about the "wedding" bullshit and got one of his aunts to officiate in the living room and had a party that night with family.
Like any good soldier, Kyle has many issues with stress when he's home. His ultimate solution is to cuddle you whenever you won't be annoyed with it. Sometimes you talk, sometimes it's quiet, he doesn't mind.
He just wants you. Always.
And he knows he always will.

you were assigned to gojo saturo. of all the men you could possibly protect, it had to be him— you're ex-friend with benefits.
you sat across from him at a table that probably cost more than your entire apartement, fingers twitching under the weight of irritation. the upscale place was dimly lit, the kind meant for quiet luxury.
“you both understood?” your superior asked, sharp gaze flickering between the two of you. Gojo grinned, the same playful smirk on his annoyingly handsome face. the past nine years had only done him favors, he'd grown taller— making him tall like a damn tower— his features sharper, his frame broader. 'maybe he'd been training' you thought. ‘or it’s just life sculpting him into something even more irritatingly perfect.'
you left him when things started to be serious. back then, Gojo had some difficulties to understand he was just a sex friend. but it didn't really matter, you had to leave for the military anyway.
for a long time, you didn't want to process feelings, attachments— that was just bullshit. and now, nine years later, somehow, you were right back where you started.
you retired from the military after sustaining severe injuries. but you still craved the thrill— fights, missions, the adrenaline rush. it kept you on track. like drugs, you were addicted. so you became a sort of bodyguard. over the years, you had protected royals, rich heirs, celebrities— anyone with a target on their back. it owned you the reputation as being the best in your field. you were ruthless, cold-blooded, killing without hesitation if needed.
your face remained stoic, your gaze locked onto gojo as he held yours. “yeah, got it. babysit the rich brat until the gala's over.” you mocked, leaning back against the chair.
satoru chuckled, he couldn't help but tease you “oh, come on now. you make it sound so boring” tilting his head like a cat toying with its prey. “i thought you'd be happy to spend some time with an old friend”
you scoffed. “friend is a strong word, Gojo” that response only fueled his mischief. “you're right” he crosses his arms as he continues “we were never just friends” insufferable brat. “i'm here to do my job. nothing more” you said without a hint of emotion in your tone, fixing him with a glare that should've shut him up.
it didn't.
his piercing blue eyes gleamed with amusement “of course, sweetie," he purred, resting his elbows on the table, leaning in “just admit you missed seeing my beautiful face.”
you exhaled sharply, already exhausted 'maybe a small knife pressed against his throat wouldn't hurt— just a little warning.'
“what i miss, is protecting some quiet person who knows their limits and let me do my damn job in peace. this, is what i truly miss”. Gojo hummed, shamelessly dragging his gaze over you “personally, i missed that sharp tongue of yours.”
“alright, enough,” your superior cut in, his tone serious— a clear warning that he had no patience for the ridiculous back-and-forth between you two. “stay close at all times. there are threats left and right against him leading up to the gala.” he turned his attention to gojo “you don't act up, and you listen to whatever she tells you.” the rich man was clearly enjoying himself “don't worry, i love when she bosses me around” he winked at you before standing up and leaving the restaurant. like this was all a game to him.
your superior exhaled heavily, already bracing for the headache to come. then, he dropped the next bomb. “you need to stay at his place.”
you try your best to keep a straight face. “what?”
“gojo is already informed. you're moving in tonight.” and with that, he left the table, leaving you seething.
your fist met with the surface with a dull thud. “damn it,” you muttered, frustration curling hot in your chest.
this is going to be a long, long week.
──────-ˋˏ àŒ»âàŒș ˎˊ-
you rode to gojo's house, spending the time to talk yourself down. you had spent years perfecting your composure. you had survived war zones, assassinations, and high-profile threats. there was no reason for gojo fucking satoru to get under your skin.
and yet.
his house— no, his mansion— was perched high above the city, a fortress of sleek glass and security. the driveway alone was bigger than some of the safe houses you'd stayed in.
when you pulled up to his gates, the night was well-advanced, the cold biting at your cheeks as you lifted up your helmet. you met some guards at the entrance stating that gojo was expecting you. of course, he was.
the second you stepped through the doors, the place smelled ridiculously expensive. the living room was massive, with a sunken seating area surrounding a glass-enclosed firepit. there are floor-to-celling windows stretched across the space, offering a panoramic view of the glittering cityscape below. a massive, curved staircase led to the second floor, the railings lined with soft, glowing, light strips, guiding the way up.
the place screamed luxury— unapologetically extravagant, but with taste. just like satoru gojo.
you sighed, rolling the tension from your shoulders as you tugged off your gloves. the ride had been long. your muscles ached. your motorbike uniform clung to you, slightly damp with sweat. all you wanted was a shower and some sleep.
“you're so sexy in that uniform” his voice came from above. you looked up to find him leaning against the railing, messy white hair, sleeves rolled up to reveal toned forearms, collarbone peeking through his loose neckline of his shirt.
and that goddamn smirk.
“gojo,” you warned, voice firm. he ignored it entirely, blue eyes twinkling as they dragged over you with zero shame. “seriously, bending you over in it wouldn't be so bad.” your fingers twitched. satoru in all his splendor.
“wouldn't be so bad if i curb-stomped you into the floor.” you respond. gojo restrained a laugh, eyes sparking with mirth. he fucking loved this— pushing your limits. “actually, i wouldn't mind that either” you grit your teeth at the comment. “just show me where my fucking room is."
when you reached him, he let out a dramatic sigh, “not even a little peck before sleep, sweetheart?” you blankly stared at him “alright, no need to look at me with so much love” he ironically says as he turned around, leading you to your room.
──────-ˋˏ àŒ»âàŒș ˎˊ-
4am. the digital clock glowed dimly as you pounded your fists against the heavy bag. you slept only two hours— which, honestly was decent considering you never slept well. the military had drilled into the art of light, vigilant rest, training you to snap into action as the slightest disturbance. and staying here, with gojo just down the hall, only worsened that already unstable peace.
“fuck it” your fist connected with the training bag, a loud thud echoing through the empty gym. you did a home tour by your own after gojo dropped you to your bedroom— and to your relief, you found a fully equipped training room. exactly what you needed to burn off frustration time to time.
sweats dripped down your temple, muscles burning from exertion as you moved with precision and force, the heavy bag jerking with each impact. your t-shirt had been abandoned long ago—tossed to the side as the heat from training built up—leaving you in nothing but sports bra and low-slung sweatpants.
“gojo, are you going to stay there for long?” you snapped as he stayed put in the doorway, thinking you hadn't noticed him those past fifteen minutes, arms crossed like he had all the time in the world. he grinned, unbothered “was testing if you could notice a threat even while distracted” you snorted “well, now that you oh-so-sweetly reassured yourself, could you fuck off?” your fist slammed onto the bag harder, sending it swinging violently.
you felt gojo's eyes on you, it almost burnt holes on your skin. his eyes darted at the sweat slipping on your back. “damn," his voice was low “i think i prefer you like this— hot, sweaty, breathless.” he insisted on the last word. your eyes flicked to his figure as he took slow steps forward. “i think i like you gone.” he clicked his tongue, tilting his head as if you disappointed him “why always so hostile? i could be way more helpful than that punching ball.”
you were too fucking exhausted for this, your next punch sent the bag flying so violently it nearly knocked over the weight rack. you caught it with one of your wrapped hand, fingers tightening around the worn leather. you exhaled sharply, preparing yourself to face gojo and his bullshit. “i swear satoru—” you stepped closer to him, closing the space between you. only to realize how stupidly tall he was up close. you weren't small but standing like this— with a solid eight inches between you— made you feel very tiny next to him.
“satoru," he repeats “it's been a while since you've said my name. say it again” he leaned in, eyes lazily tracing your lips, the small hairs at the back of your neck sticking to your skin, your full breasts pressed tight against your sports bra. a strong desire lingering in his eyes as he imagined licking every drop of your sweat. he tested your patience “you know,” he murmured “i really love this view.”
and that was it, you had enough. in no time you grabbed him, hooked your arm, and flipped his ass over your shoulder— slamming him onto the floor. before he could react, you were on him, your thighs straddling his hips, your hand wrapped around his throat. gojo eyes widened in shock— he did not expect that. but the surprise was soon enough replaced by a slow curl of his lips.
“fuck,” he chocked out “that was hot, sweetheart.” you tightened your grip around his neck “gojo, you're a fucking perv.” you felt something hard pressing between your legs. “i'm just a man." he lifted his hand, acting innocent "you kept bouncing around that bag, how could i not get some ideas?”
the worst part of all those stuff is that you were turned on by all his teasing. your panties dampened any time he made a comment over the little talk you both had in those past ten hours.
“gojo, you're a total pathetic man,” you mutter rolling your hips down harder, closing your thighs firmly around him just to hurt a little more. his pupils blown wide and his lips part sightly— that fucking bastard was loving it. “y-yeah, pathetic” he chokes out “i- i'm a- a very p-pathetic m-man." your panties were so damn soaked by now as his length presses sinfully against your core. you refuse to acknowledge the feelings, you don't need it, you don't need him, you don't need to go back to him.
you release his throat with a final squeeze, eyes heavy, dragging your fingers down his heavy chest— feeling the hard ridges of muscle tense under your touch, before you push yourself up and off him. you see his hips twitching up, as if he was chasing the missing heat of your pussy. gojo let out a broken— needy whimper, as you adjust your waistband and roll your shoulders back, trying to gather your thoughts. ignoring the aching pulse between your legs.
your feet leading you to the door. you throw one last glance to gojo, you can see his erection straining against his pants from where you stand, aching to be taken care of— gojo's features twisting in desperation. “be ready at eight a.m. We've got recon to do.” and with that, you leave him there, fighting the urge to go back inside and kiss him senseless.
──────-ˋˏ àŒ»âàŒș ˎˊ-
the ride to the venue is longer than necessary with gojo whom insisted on riding with you. you should have known better than accepting his demand. he can not keep his hand to himself.
at first, his hands rested innocently on your stomach, but as soon as you took off, he let them slide lower, palm resting on your inner thighs— fingers tracing circles way too close to your core. the vibrations of the bike only make it worse.
at the next red light, you snap your hand down, gripping his wrist. “keep your hands to yourself” you warn him “either way i'll have to cut them off” his chest rumbles with laughter against your back. “what if i don't want to?” you hear his teasing voice through the speaker of your helmet “you're never asking about what i want, sweetheart.” his hands squeezing you through your pants. “i think i'm gonna kick your ass off the bike. go to hell that damn mission” your jaw tightened, ‘why does he have to make everything so difficult’
the light turns green and you don't hesitate to accelerate like a damn crazy— earning some curses from gojo, his arms wrapping around you, his thighs locking firmly against yours. once he accommodate to the speed, he's laughing, slightly enjoying the way you speed down the street like you're trying to outrun the heat pooling between your legs.
you parked in front of the luxurious hotel, one of the most extravagant hotels in the city by the way. the gala will be held there, a beautiful place— a perfect representation of gojo's wealth and arrogance. “gorgeous place, huh?” he muses. “maybe we should get a room after the mission, to celebrate our teamwork.” you swing your leg off smoothly, ignoring him as you unbuckle your helmet.
when you step inside, multiple people are working on the preparations— setting up tables, adjusting lighting, and fussing over floral arrangements. you walk straight past them, heading toward the ballroom where the gala will take place. the room is massive— high ceilings with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, multiple balconies. it's beautiful, but a logistical nightmare for security. too many places to hide, too many potential vantage points for a sniper.
gojo lets out a low whistle, walking a step behind, hands in his pockets— acting like a damn tourist instead of a man with an actual bounty on his head. you walk past the ballroom, letting him doing whatever he is. you head toward the back corridors, checking the service entrances, mapping out the security offices. The staff is too busy setting up to pay you much attention— except for the occasional glance at gojo, probably wondering if he's some high-profile guest.
then something shifts. a group of security personnel moves in, just a little too fast. too coordinated. you recognize the stance immediately— trained, disciplined. not just the hotel staff. your instincts scream at you, your feet move before your mind fully catches up— you step toward gojo to warn him
and that's when you see it. a figure in the hallway, gun raised. aimed directly at gojo's head.
your body moves before your brain processes. you twist on your heel, muscles coiled, and throw your knife. it slices through the air, and the second it buries itself deep in the shooter's forearm, he lets out a sharp yell, his aim faltering. it's all you need. you charge.
your combat boots barely make a sound as you sprint toward the shooter. you're on him before he even recovers, grabbing his wrist and twisting it outward— hard.
POP. he screams, his shoulder socket dislocating from the brutal angle, the gun slipping from his fingers. your knee flies up, slamming into his sternum. you feel his ribs shift under the impact, his breath leaving him in choked gasp before you shove him aside like trash.
“holy shit—” gojo starts, but you don't hear the rest as you see three more attackers already closing in. one of them lunges with a knife— fast, trained. but so are you. you shift sideways at the last second, grabbing his wrist mid-swipe. then in a brutal motion, you twist. his own blade sinks into his thigh. a strangled gurgle leaves his lips as he stumbles back, collapsing to his knees, clutching the handle buried in his leg.
suddenly you feel arms wrapping around your waist, lifting you from the floor. you snap your head back, cracking the nose of your opponment with the force of a fucking hammer. blood sprays onto your shoulder and the wall. your fast to slam your elbow into his throat, his air supply instantly cut off, his body jerking as he crumples to the floor.
the last guy is bigger, stronger— seems to be military trained from the way he moves. but that doesn't matter, you've had to deal with fiercer men before. when he's close enough, you drop low— leg swings out in a sweeping arc. CRACK.
his legs are ripped out from under him. he fall onto his back, gasping for air. you don't let him breathe, your fist driving down, once.
twice, three times.
the last punch bursts his lip open, blood dripping down his chin. your fingers wrap around his throat. you lean in close, sweat dripping down your temple, eyes heavy of the need to kill. “you fucked with the wrong person.” you hear a broken noise coming from his lung. you tighten your grip.
and then— clapping.
you whip around, chest heaving. and there stands gojo, grinning like the devil himself “well, well, well.” he whistles, stepping over the bodies of the men you just demolished. “i gotta admit, that was fucking sexy” your brain is still catching up, heart pulsing with adrenaline “what the hell is wrong with you?” you snap. “we almost got fucking assassinated.”
his grin deepens. “sweetheart
” he crouches down, tilting his head. “that wasn't an assassination.”
you freeze. you hope it's not what you think it is.
he gestures lazily at the unconscious men. “that was a test.” he lifts his shoulders, unbothered. “wanted to be sur you still got it” he winks, amused.
your blood runs hot. “a test?” gojo shrugs, way too casual for someone who just watched you beat the absolute shit out of four men. his gaze drags over you— knuckles bloodied, chest rising and falling hard— and his smirk only widens.
you don't think much as you launch at him, fury taking over— fully prepared to knock that smug grin off his face for good. but this time, he's ready. he catches your wrist mid-swing. “no, no,” he purrs, his grip tightening just enough to make you aware of his strength. “play nice.” your free hand grabs the collar of his shirt, yanking him closer “fuck you and your stupid games," you spit "i can't wait for this week to end.” you see red.
gojo's amused eyes faded into something darker. his eyes once playful, turn sharp, dangerous. “and what?" his voice is low, cold— jaw clenched so tightly it might break. "leave like you did nine years ago?” his face inches closer, his warm breath hitting your skin. “leaving without a second look?” your stomach twists. he's standing too close— looking at you like he wants to rip you apart.
your chest rises and falls sharply. your body is still burning from the fight, but this— this is worse. you rip your wrist from his grasp, shoving him hard enough that he stumbles back a step. and he laughs. an empty laugh, far from his usual cocky, full-bodied laugh. “that's all you ever fucking do, huh?” his voice is sharp. “run.” you flinch, ever so sightly. but he sees it. and he seems satisfied ‘i finally got a reaction out of her.’
"i didn't have a choice". you force the words out, voice controlled. gojo's expression darkens. “bullshit, you always had a choice.” he steps forward, and this time, you don't move back. if he punched you, it will be well-deserved. you wouldn't dodge it. his fist on your face would hurt less than the words coming out of his mouth.
“you just didn't choose me.” your heart stops, feeling something inside you cracks. but you don't want him to see it. so, as much as you hate what you're about to say, you steel yourself and let it out “what, you think i owed you something?” the words taste bitter, burning your tongue even as they leave your mouth.
gojo's lips parts, but nothing comes out at first. then quietly— too fucking quietly “no.” his voice is ragged, raw. “but i thought you cared.” you feel it like a punch to the gut. gojo never says things like this. he surely is all teasing remarks and well-placed avoidance but never is he a looking like you ruined him. like you destroyed a part no one could ever rebuild— except
 you.
a part of you wants to scream that yes, you did care. you still do. that you were just too afraid to stay. but you do none of that. instead, you do the only thing you're good at, you walk away. and he lets you.
for mere seconds, he lets you leave— again. but then you hear him “don't you fucking do this again.” his voice isn't a plea, it's a command. for a moment, you think that he won't let you go. that maybe—just maybe—he'll grab your wrist, yank you back, force you to deal with this. but he doesn't.
because he still wants you to choose him. and you never do.
──────-ˋˏ àŒ»âàŒș ˎˊ-
the ride back home is fine. if fine meant quiet, tense, and filled with too much unsaid shit hanging in the air like a storm waiting to break. then yeah, it is fine.
gojo didn't pull his usual antics— no wandering hands, no teasing remarks. just silence. his hands stay firmly on his own thighs, gripping the edges of the seat. and somehow that irritates you even more.
you can feel the weight of his gaze the entire ride back, burning into the back of your head like a brand. he doesn't speak, but his presence is suffocating.
by the time you pull up to his estate, he gets off the bike before you can even kill the engine. his movements are sharp, jaw clenched, shoulders tense. for a moment, he just stands there, staring at you, like he's debating something. you stare back, chest rising and falling with the remnants of adrenaline still buzzing through your veins.
but then, with a low scoff, he turns on his heels, and heads inside without a word. you don't follow. not immediately. taking a moment for yourself. trying to gather back your composure.
you stay seated on your bike, hands tightening around the handlebars, knuckles white. heart pounding like a war drum against your ribs. the wind bites at your skin, but it's nothing compared to the cold settling in your chest.
──────-ˋˏ àŒ»âàŒș ˎˊ-
the next day is spent preparing for the gala. you go over the blueprints of the venue again, double-checking entrance and exist, every potential blind spot.
the chaos from yesterday has been cleaned up— not a single trace of the fight remains. the bloodied bodies have been taken care of, the shattered glass replaced with pristine tables, the blood smeared across the walls scrubbed away as if it never existed. as if it was nothing more than a fever dream.
you analyze the guest list, looking for possible threats. you argue with gojo about security placements, mostly because he doesn't take anything seriously. “take a look at this. tell me if you recognize anyone shady.” the tall man barely glances at the screen before muttering, “they're all shady.” you roll your eyes "that's not helpful." he shrugs, stepping toward the grand windows. “i don't really care.” that pisses you off. “gojo, could you at least pretend to care?” you put a hand on your hips, patience thinning.
he exhales through his nose, barely sparing you glance over his shoulder. and then, with a calmness that cuts deeper than yelling ever could, he says, “you're the one who didn't care, remember?” and that shuts you up.
he doesn't wait for your response, doesn't push, doesn't linger. just clasps his hands behind his back, taking a slow tour of the ballroom, his gaze dragging over the chandeliers, the polished floors, the extravagant decor— all while completely ignoring you.
the gala is tomorrow.
and you don't know if you're ready.
──────-ˋˏ àŒ»âàŒș ˎˊ-
morning comes too soon. you barely slept, torn between the looming mission ahead and the cold, unbearable silence that had settled between you and gojo. since that night at the hotel, it had been nothing but tension— thick, suffocating, unspoken. a battlefield of sidelong glances, clipped conversations, and empty spaces where words should have been. especially your words. words of regrets.
and now, as you sit stiffly across from gojo on his sleek leather couch, arms crossed so tightly your nails bite into your skin, it's clear nothing has changed. he doesn't look at you. he hasn't since that night. since those words left his mouth, cutting deeper than any blade you took.
your superior clears his throat, dragging you back to the present. his voice clipped, all business. “you'll be attending as a couple.” the words slam into you like a wrecking ball.“you're kidding” you say flatly, glaring at your superior. “no,” he says simply. and you hear gojo letting out a laugh. the sound sends cold down your spine.
“it's the best cover. gojo is a known public figure, and he's expected to bring someone. you, on the other hand, aren't on anyone's radar. it's the perfect excuse to keep you close and avoid suspicion.” you shake your head. “there has to be another way.” you bite the inside of your cheek, gripping your own arms as if that'll keep you from exploding. this is a fucking disaster. “there isn't.”
fucking hell.
how are you supposed to play lovers when everything between you is broken, shattered, and stitched back together with nothing but avoidance? you can feel gojo's eye on you, but you refuse to meet them. you already know what he's thinking. that you well-deserved that. that you were the one who ran away from him nine years ago, without any explanations.
your jaw locks as you finally risk a glance at him. he's watching you, studying you. blue glacial eyes pinning you in place. then slowly, he tilts his head. lips curling into a grin. “well,” his voice low, with something dark. “this should be fun.”
the moment your superior is done talking, you push yourself off the couch and stride toward your room, your pulse hammering too fast. it's too much.
the air is still charged, like static before a storm. even more now that you know you're going as a couple. behind you, gojo doesn't say a word. he doesn't try to stop you either. of course, he doesn't.
you try to convince yourself it's easier this way. easier to act like none of it matters. like the past isn't clinging to both of you with bloodied, desperate hands.
the second the door clicks shut behind you, you let out a breath you didn't even realize you were holding. the tension in your shoulders lingers, pressing your forehead against the door. 'focus' you tell yourself. tonight is business, the mission comes first. it's not about him— not about your feelings.
you step into the bathroom, turning the shower knob. water rushed out, steam filling the space almost instantly. hot, scalding— exactly what you need. you peel off your clothes, letting them drop carelessly to the floor before stepping inside.
the first touch of water burns, but you don't move away. instead, you welcome it. let it wash over you, over your skin, over the lingering heat still trapped in your body from the way gojo looked at you earlier. your hands slide over your arms, down your sides, over the curves of your body, the pressure firm as if you could scrub away the past— him.
the water runs through your hair, down your back, down your thighs, and still, you can't shake the way your body remembers him. the way it still reacts to the mere idea of him. it pisses you off. your fingers tighten into fists before you force yourself to exhale, resting your forehead against the cool tile. you stay like this for a while. letting the water scald you, hoping it can burn out the thing still curling inside your chest, still whispering his name in the back of your mind.
by the time you finally step out, steam curls around the mirror, the bathroom thick with heat. you wrap yourself in a towel, sighing as you push the door open. as you step closer to the bed, you notice a box on your bed. black, sleek, expensive. your breath catches for a second, it's not hard to guess who left it. you approach it slowly, a wary sort of anticipation buzzing under your skin.
on the box, a note. a small, folded piece of paper with gojo's handwriting.
‘’ sweetheart,  i can't let you ruin my reputation with those cheap dresses you own. i have an image to maintain, after all. a rich man can't have people thinking he's poor. wear this. — satoru ‘’
your breath stutters for a second. sweetheart. something in your chest tightens, flutters, pounds. you crush it, fight it. with steady hands, you set the note aside and lift the lid of the box— and you freeze.
the dress inside is breathtaking. it's a shade of blue so deep, so striking— the same as his eyes. you swallow, fingertips ghosting over the fabric. it's impossibly smooth, slipping through your fingers like liquid, designed to mold to every curve, to hug your body like a second skin. a dress that demands attention. you take it out of the box and immediately notice the back. or rather, the lack of one. the fabric dips dangerously low. with a sort of thin white belt that wraps behind your neck, fastening at the nape before cascading down in a delicate, tantalizing line. tracing your vertebral column. a seductive dress, yet functional enough to fight in case.
you return your attention to the box. your eyes widen as you see a pair of underwear. a soft filthy shade of blue, slightly lighter than the dress delicate and teasing. the panties are sheer in all the wrong places, practically see-through, the thin straps barely qualifying as fabric. offering little to the imagination. there's subtle glittering embellishments, catching the light just enough to draw eye.
just enough to drive a man insane. your throat runs dry. that fucking bastard.
you dig further into the box, only to find jewelry. a necklace so fine it barely feels real, elegant enough to steal attention. earrings that shimmer subtly, matching perfectly with the delicate bracelet nestled beside them.
everything about this is so intimate. you hate that your heart still reacts, that your fingers tremble slightly as you lift the necklace, as you let the fabric of the dress slip between your fingers. every single piece was selected with intent. this isn't just a gift, it's a statement.
gojo satoru is back at it again. back to his games. back to this push and pull. he's testing your limits once again. you need to show him, you need to keep your bold cold. mission. mission then next
 gojo.

8:17 p.m. you see as you finish getting ready. adrenaline rushing through your veins. your hands move on mechanism, fastening the holster around your thigh before slipping the small firearm into place, the slit of your dress perfectly concealing it. since gojo is the host, there won't be any security checks for you at the entrance.
you allow yourself one final breath, steadying your pulse as your hand move to the door handle. tonight, your job is to protect him. nothing more.
you push the door open, and nothing could have prepared you for what is waiting for you. in front of you stand an anxious gojo, fixing his suit jacket, smoothing the fabric before his fingers nervously reach up to adjust his tie.
your breath hitches. the tie he's fumbling with is the exact same shade as your dress— his signature blue, the color of his eyes, the color that haunts your dream more often than you'd like to admit. his scent hits your nose, flooding your senses. something fresh, subtly spiced. it messes with your head, makes it hard to focus. his hair a little bit messy, like he's been running his hands through it while waiting for who knows how long.
and when his eyes find yours, everything in you freezes.
gojo stays still. his usual teasing remark falter, no lazy smirk, no arrogance. just
silence as his gaze consumes you. it's like the weight of the last few days of distance disappears, and all that remains is the way the dress clings to your body.
“i-” he starts. “that's
you- i mean,” he shakes his head, trying to gather his thoughts. he takes a slow step forward, his hand reaching out. you don't hesitate, taking it in yours. his fingers are warm against yours, his grip tight, like he's afraid to let go. to let you go.
he gently turns you, his eyes trailing over the open expanse of your back. he swallows hard, his Adam's apple bobbing. “what's happening, satoru?” you tease “you finally dare to look at me, after all the ignoring these pasts days?” you tilt your head back, lifting your chin to meet his eyes. even in your heels, you remain towered by him, his presence overwhelming. gojo's eyes betray something deep— pain, maybe regret.
“sweetheart
” he murmurs, pulling you closer by the hand that holds yours. the sudden motion takes you by surprise, a gasp leaving your lips as your body crashes into his. “you have no idea what you do to me.” gojo growls softly. the heat of his body pressing against yours, makes you weak. you can't stop the way your breath hitches.
the word mission keeps echoing in your head. you shouldn't give in, not when he got so defensive, not when you still had walls built around you. “gojo,” you whispers as his eyes flickers to your lips. he leans in, his forehead touching yours, closing his eyes. “we need to figure it out.” he says simply. “give me a chance.” his hands grip your waist, molding your body to his. “tell me why you left, please.” his voice filled with a raw, aching honesty that make your heart drop.
your brain is racing at a thousand miles per hour, your pulse drumming in your ears. the connection between you two is palpable, undeniable. your hands go to the back of his head, tugging sightly his hair, making gojo groans. you breathe out his name, your lips just brushing against his “after the gala,” you murmur. “but let's go for now. we're running late.” you pull back but the heat remains. a pretty shade of pink creeps onto gojo's cheeks. the sight of it makes you smile.
you both reach the bottom of the stairs, and before you can move toward the door, gojo's voice calls out, low and filled with something close to mischief. “wait.”
you stop in your tracks, turning to look at him, and that playful smirk makes its comeback. he lifts your hands, then loosens his grip just enough to intertwine his fingers with yours. his eyes fixed on your face, watching for your reaction. “it's better like this,” he says, his voice mix of teasing and seriousness. “if we're playing couple, let's do it right,” he adds. you shake your head in disbelief, unable to suppress the smile tugging at your lips. “satoru, let's go now." he opens the door, the cold night air hitting your skin “i love when you call me saturo, sweetheart.”
──────-ˋˏ àŒ»âàŒș ˎˊ-
the streets blur past, neon lights casting fleeting glows over his sharp features as he drives through the city. Gojo insisted on being the one to drive, choosing one of his luxurious car— not without making a comment on how it'd be nearly impossible to ride your bike in that dress but he'd gladly let you ride him in that dress.
the ride is quiet. not the comfortable kind, but the charged, suffocating kind. you can feel his eyes flicking toward you between red lights.
the hotel appears, tall and grand, its golden lights illuminating the massive entrance. unlike when you came checking security, the driveway is packed with luxury cars, men in tailored suits, women in gowns worth small fortunes. there're even photographers lining the barricades, flashes firing like relentless lighting.
despite your superior's briefing, you still feel nervous. of course you have attented events like this before to protect your clients, but never were you the center of attention.
suddenly, dodging bullets in a batteflied seems far less stressful than whatever the hell this masquerade is. at least, the car windows are tinted, giving you some more minutes.
gojo feels you tense up as he stops in front of the entrance. he turns to you, bringing a hand to cup your face, tilting your chin so you meet his gaze. “it's okay, sweetheart," his thumb traces soft, reassuring circles on your cheek. “i'm with you. focus on the job, okay?” then, with an easy smile, he steps out of the car.
the moment he does, you hear people calling his name, cameras clicking furiously. and gojo being gojo, steps out with that infuriating confidence, adjusting his cufflinks like he owns the damn place. pretty fucking bastard
gojo makes his way to your door before the valet even moves. he opens it himself, hand extended, waiting. and you can feel this is not only for the show. you let out a sharp exhales, taking his hand to get out of the car.
the moment your heels hit the ground, the flashes explode even brighter, voices pitching higher, demanding your attention. gojo's fingers intertwine with yours—firm, possessive—as he pulls you closer, leaning down just enough so only you can hear. “wanted to let you know,” his breath tickling your ear “knowing what's under this dress is no helpful to hide my boner in front of these photographers.”
before you can react, he presses a slow, deliberate kiss to your temple. then with the smooth ease of a man who knows exactly what he's doing, he lifts your hand to his lips and plants the softest kiss against you knuckles. “also, don't forget to smile.”
──────-ˋˏ àŒ»âàŒș ˎˊ-
inside, the gala is exactly what you expected— crystal chandeliers spilling molten gold over the sea of designer-clad elites, laughter too polished to be real, and conversations laced with unspoken agendas. the air is thick with expensive perfume and quit power plays.
gojo moves through it effortlessly, magnetic as ever. he plays the perfect host, flashing easy grins and exchanging pleasantries with people you couldn't care less about. you, on the other hand, remain sharp, scanning the room, keeping your senses on high alert.
or at least, you try.
it's hard to stay focused when you're super-aware of gojo's warmth. his palm resting low on your back, fingers tracing lazy, absentminded circles against your spine. his lips graze your temple as he leans in, voice low with some meaningless observation, but his breath is too warm, too deliberate. a shiver runs down your body.
the hours stretch on, an endless cycle of fake smiles and calculated small talk. the weight of the night starts pressing against your ribs, exhaustion creeping in. you need a moment.
“i'm getting us drinks,” you murmur, pulling away from gojo's touch, ignoring the way your body immediately protests the loss of warmth.
“how thoughtful of my wife” he teases, lips curling into something wicked. you almost fall to the floor, headfirst.
wife. the word comes too easily from his mouth, like it belongs there. you catch yourself liking it.
shaking off the heat starting to take over you, you weave through the crowd, reaching the refreshments table. your mind still lingers on gojo, your thoughts are full of him. you're convince you need him. you don't want to run anymore.
a shadow of a smile tugs at your lips.
when you turn back— two glasses of champagne in your hand— gojo is gone.
your pulse stumbles. your breath quickens, eyes scanning every corner, every exit. nothing. where the hell is he?
you shove the glasses onto the nearest table, ignoring the startled look of a waiter. your training urges you to stay calm, but panic claws at your throat. gojo isn't just your responsibility. he's—
focus.
you spot one of the security personnel near the ballroom's entrance, a stocky man with an earpiece and a sharp gaze. you stride toward him, voice low but urgent. “did you see gojo leave?” the man frowns slightly “he stepped out a few minutes ago. took the private elevator up.”
your stomach knots. “who was with him?”
“not sure. a few men. well-dressed.” fury spikes through you. 'and that didn't alarm you?' you could beat his ass off if it wasn't for gojo right now. where did they find those incompetent men.
spinning on your heel, you move fast, heart hammering. the gala's noise fades behind you as you push through the discreet hallway leading to the private elevators. the display shows it stopped on the roof.
your pulse spikes. you slam the button. nothing. locked.
“fuck” you mutter under your breath. you don't have time to wait. without hesitation, you head for the stairwell, heels be damned. you rip the gun from its hidden strap at your thigh and climb two steps at a time. the adrenaline burns away any exhaustion, pushing faster.
by the time you reach the the top, your breath is ragged. hand tight on your gun, you push the rooftop door open just enough to see—
and your blood turns to ice.
gojo stands near the edge, bathed in city lights, his white hair a stark contrast against the night. the wind howls between the buildings, the breeze fluttering his tie— the same shade of his eyes, the same shade of your dress.
his usual carefree stance betraying nothing, hands in his pocket like he's discussing business over whiskey rather than staring down the barrels of guns.
four men surround him. they're dressed too well to be common thugs, but you know better—real danger rarely looks the part. one of them, a broad-shouldered man with a jagged scar curving at the corner of his mouth, has his gun aimed directly at gojo's chest.
your grip tightens around your own gun.
and then gojo speaks. “i suggest you let me go,” he drawls, voice laced with amusement. “or my wife's going to rip you apart.” he smirks “also, we arranged we talk after the gala, to make things clear, i don't think she'd be very happy that you keep me for the night.”
the men exchange glances, unimpressed. scar-lips steps forward, a cruel smirk twisting his scar. “you're worth a lot, Satoru Gojo.” a ransom situation.
gojo pinches the bridge of his nose like they're giving him a headache. “look,” he starts, tilting his head slightly. “i don't know who sent you, but this is embarrassing. four of you? to handle me? if i were you, i'd start running before she gets pissed.”
they barely have a second to process his words before you make your move. you can't risk any longer. and gojo is doing perfectly at distracting them.
one breath. one shot.
you step out. aim. fire
the bullet buries itself into the shoulder of the man nearest gojo. he stumbles back with a pained grunt—
and gojo moves.
he moves faster then the wind whipping through the rooftop. in the time it takes for scar-lips to turn toward you, gojo there. a sickening crack echoes through the rooftop as gojo drives his elbow into the wide man's jaw with enough force to send him staggering. without pause, he pivots, driving a brutal kick into another's ribs. the crack is sickening.
you react instinctively, ducking behind an industrial vent as one of the men pulls a gun in your direction. another shot rings out— gojo's this time. he moves like liquid shadow, disarming one of the attackers with terrifying efficiency. the man barely has time to process that he's slammed into the ground.
scar-lips, despite his disoriented state, reaches for his gun again.
gojo doesn't let him. he's on him in a blink, gripping his wrist with an almost lazy ease before twisting it violently in the wrong direction. the man screams, his gun clattering to the floor. gojo doesn't let go. instead, he leans in, voice sickeningly sweet. “told you she'd be mad.”
you freeze. you've seen trained fighters. you are one. but this? this is something else. the speed, the precision, the sheer control— it's unsettling. suspicious.
the last man standing tries to flee, you take aim and fire a warning shot near his feet. he freezes, hands trembling in surrender.
the rooftop falls into silence, only the labored groans of the fallen men breaking the stillness. the adrenaline still surges through your veins as you lower your gun, stepping closer to gojo, who brushes nonexistent dust off his sleeve like he didn't juts annihilate four men in less than two minutes.
“you good?” he asks, eyes flickering over you, concern hidden beneath his usual playful tone. “i should be asking you that.”
“what? you think a couple of suits can take me down?” he winks, but there's something unreadable in his eyes. something he doesn't want you to see. you don't press. at least, not now.
instead, you step forward, pressing your heel into scar-lips' injured arm. he yelps “so, who sent you?” scar-lips stay still, unwilling to say anything.
the other men groan on the ground, the sting of their broken bones keeping them from trying anything stupid. gojo sighs as if he's bored. as if this whole thing is an inconvenience rather than a threat to his life. he reaches into his jacket, pulling out his phone.
“you know,” he hums, tapping the screen with a lazy smirk “i could call someone. but they wouldn't be as nice as she is.” he gestures at you with a tilt of his head, his tone light, but his eyes? glacial.
scar-lips doesn't flinch. you press down harder on his arm. “fuck! alright, alright!” gojo grins like you just made his night.
“contract” he grits out. “someone put a price on your head. it's big. too big to ignore.” gojo clicks his tongue, shaking his head. “that's vague. who?” scar-lips looks like he's debating wether answering is worth the consequences. “not local”
“international” you press. he nods, slowly. “someone wants you dead, gojo. badly. all we got was a time and place.” his gaze flicks up to you, sharp despite pain. "and instructions to take you too".
the air grows thick. “me?” the man on the floor exhales “whoever hired us knew you'd be with him. they want you alive.” something cold settles in your stomach. gojo, however, laughs. it's quiet, then louder, echoing against the rooftop.
scar-lips looks at him like he's lost his damn mind. “what the fuck is wrong with you?” gojo wipes at the corner of his eyes like he actually found that funny. “man, you guys must be new do you know how many times someone's tried to put me in a body bag?” he leans in closer, voice dripping lower. “and not one of them ever succeeded.” gojo nods toward you, lips quirking. “someone wants her alive? buddy, you should be more scared of that than anything else.”
you glance down, they want you alive. that means whoever put out this hit isn't just after gojo— they're after something he has. the implications make your blood runs cold. but you don't have time to dwell on it.
one of the men on the ground— one you thought was barely conscious— lunges.
it happens fast. too fast.
a blade glints under the rooftop lights, aiming straight for gojo's ribs.
your gun fires before you think. the gunshot rings out, echoing accross the night.
the man crumples.
scra-lips yells, trying to scrambles back, but gojo's hand shoot out, grabbing him by the collar and yanking him up. “i'd be annoyed if this wasn't so damn prediactable.” his voice has lost its amusement. it's cold now. deadly. “you made a big mistake touching what's mine.” gojo's fingers tighten. for a second, you think he'll kill him.
but instead, gojo sighs—a sound full of tiredness— and his grip loosens. “i'd love to drag this out, but we have a gala to return to,” he says, and with that, he lets go. the man collapses to the ground, coughing violently.
gojo steps over him like he's nothing more than a discarded piece of trash. he reaches for your hand, gently pulling you away. “someone's coming to pick you up.” he adds, his tone far too casual for what just happened “be grateful. i called someone to take care of you, buddies. i only do that to my special guests.”
he slams the rooftop door shut behind them with a sense of finality, cutting off the chaos that lingers in the air.
as you make your way down the stairs, you abruptly stop, questions swirling in your mind. “what's wrong?” gojo asks. you meet his gaze, searching his eyes, trying to figure out what he's hiding from you. he steps closer "you okay?” you should nod. should brush it off like you always do.
but you don't answer, and you feel the weight of silence settles between you. it's suffocating, you don't know how to break it. so you shake your head. you want to ask him why he hired you. why he needs you when he could've handled everything alone. you want to know if there's more to this—more to you—than just being his bodyguard. the questions burns at the back of your throat, but you swallow it down, afraid of what the answer might be.
gojo's hand pulls you from your spiraling thoughts, his touch gentle—like always when he touches you—making you gasp. his palm cups your cheeks. “hey.” his eyes are full of concern, worried. his tumb brushes over your cheek, a fleeting touch, as if he's trying to ground you. you're not sure if it's for your sake or his.
“you're acting weird,” he murmurs, tilting his head. your throat tightens. “and you're acting like this is normal.” a short laugh escapes him, not a single hint of humor in it. his grip on your face loosens, but he doesn't pull away. “what do you want me to say?”
“i want you to tell me why,” the words come out quieter than you intended, but no less desperate. “why hire someone to protect you?” something flickers in his gaze, quick enough that you almost miss it. his fingers twitch against your skin. “you really think i need a bodyguard?” the way he says it sounds wrong—too light, too easy.
“exactly. you don't." your voice is unwavering now, the certainty of it strengthening you. “not after i saw what you did tonight. the way you fought— it was effortless. you're better than any soldier i've ever seen.” you hesitate, the memory clicking into place. ”better than me.” and now that you think about it, you remember your punch he blocked that night, back at the gala preparations. the sheer force he used. you should have realized then.
gojo is quiet for a moment. then, finally, he sighs, letting his hand drop from your face. the loss of his warmth makes your chest ache. “i thought it'd be obvious by now,” he mutters, looking away.
it isn't.
it's not obvious at all. and the fact that he won't just say it outright makes your frustration curl tight in your chest.
you take a step back, shaking your head. “well, as you can see
it's not.” you cross your arms, the hurt leaking into your voice. gojo's head snaps back toward you, eyes narrowing. “you overthink too much.” you scoff, anger bubbling up despite your exhaustion. “then give me answers. if you did, i wouldn't have to.”
his jaw clenches, and for a second, you think he's going to throw out some flippant remark, something to brush this all under the rug like he always does.
but then—
he takes a step forward.
and another.
until there's barely any space left between you.
“maybe i don't want you to know,” he says, voice low, almost quiet to hear. the words send a sharp pang through you. he's never been this blunt before— not like this. “why?” you whisper, almost afraid to ask, but you need to go through this. together. “once you know, you won't look at me the same.”
your heart clenches at the quiet honesty in his voice.
“satoru," you murmur, refusing to back down, “you dressed me tonight. you brought me here as your date. you even called me your wife.” your voice shakes, but you keep going. “and i was scared to lose you tonight.” the words slip out before you can stop them, raw and unfiltered, the weight of them hitting the space between you with unbearable force.
gojo stills. his breath is uneven, and his eyes—those brilliant blue eyes—widen just slightly. you close your own, exhaling shakily before continuing.
“i ran once. nine years ago.” your voice is barely a whisper now. “i was young. i was afraid. and it was a mistake.” his entire body tenses. “Satoru,” you open your eyes, meeting his. “i want you. all of you. and surprisingly, i'm willing to stay. to stand next to you. to kill for you if that's what it takes to keep you safe.” you pause, your voice thick with emotion. “i'm not afraid of threats. i don't want to run anymore.”
gojo looks wrecked. completely and utterly undone.
you step closer, pressing a hand to his chest, feeling the rapid, unsteady beat of his heart beneath your palm. “nothing you could ever say will change the way i see you.” your voice is firm “nothing.”
he swallows hard, his hands twitching at his sides like he doesn't know whether to pull you in or push you away— to protect you from people that would want to hurt you, only to hurt him.
but then— he breaks.
his arms wrap around you, crushing you to him, his grip almost desperate. his forehead drops to your shoulder, his breath warm against your skin. and for the first time, gojo satoru—the untouchable, unshakable man— trembles.
“making me go through all that," he says against your hair, "being irrefutable with me and letting me beat the hell out of four men—" his fingers gripping the fabric of your clothes like he's terrified you'll disappear. “it took you all that to finally tell me what's on your heart?”
you let out a watery laugh, wrapping your arms around him just as tightly “i'm sorry.” he lets out a shaky breath, his lips brushing your temple. “stay,” it's not a command, not a plea— just a confession. you close your eyes, letting yourself sink into his warmth, into the way he holds you like he's never wanted anything more. “i'm not going anywhere.”
and just like that, nothing else matters.
the gala, the stares, the whispers— none of it exists as you slip out through the back entrance, hands locked together, ignoring the world you're leaving behind.
gojo doesn't let go.
not even when he open the car door for you, not even when he slides into the driver's seat. his hand stays on your thigh, fingers warm and steady, tracing idle patterns against your skin. every red light is an excuse— an excuse to lift your hand to his lips, pressing slow, deliberate kisses on your knuckles, the pads of your fingers, the inside of you wrist.
you shiver, watching him through lidded eyes. “you're being soft.” gojo hums, a lazy grin pulling at his lips. “you love it, don't you?” and you don't deny it.
the drive is quiet, heavy with something unspoken. when he pulls up in front of his house, fingers still tracing slow, burning circles on you thigh, the weight of earlier comes crashing back. you shift in your seat, eyes flicking toward him.
“what were you going to say earlier?” his hand pauses for just a second— just long enough for you to notice. then, instead of answering, he leans in, his breath hitting your jaw as his lips ghost over your skin. “you really want to talk about that right now?”
the air is charged, thick with frustration and need. his lips press against the corner of your mouth— featherlight, teasing, but you can feel the restraint in the way his fingers grip your thigh. you tilt your head, giving him more access as a sigh leave your lips. “i need to know.”
gojo groans, low and deep. his hands move— one sliding up higher up your thigh, the other tangling in your hair as he pulls you toward him, his lips finally crashing against yours.
the kiss is messy, heated, all tongue and teeth and pent-up frustration. you don't even remember shifting onto his lap, only that his hands are on your hips, gripping tight enough to leave marks. his breath is ragged when he pulls back, forehead pressed against yours. your lipstick stains his lips, smudged, messy, sinful.
“you really wanna do this now?” his voice is rough, uneven. his fingers slip beneath your dress, brushing against your bare skin. “because if i start talking now, i won't stop. and i'd rather have you like this, falling apart in my hands. or my tongue. begging for more.”
your pulse is wild, but you don't back down. “satoru.” you lift a hand, softly wiping the lipstick from his lips. “tell me.” his sigh is one of defeat, his head falling back on the headrest. “i didn't hire you to protect me.” his voice is quieter now, raw in a way you've never heard before. “i hired you because i wanted you close.”
your breath catches. gojo chuckles, but there's no humor in it. “you ran from me nine years ago,” he presses open-mouthed kisses along your neck— wet, lingering. “did you really think i was going to let you do it again?”
your eyes burn with emotions— ones you don't have time to process because gojo's lips trail lower, his tongue flicking out, teasing, tasting. "being an influential young man got me some enemies. I had to know how to fight like a soldier— if not better. as the years went by, I became even more influential. and with some quick calls, I was able to find you."
“i don't think i deserve you, gojo.” the words spill out, breathless. gojo clicks his tongue, pulling back just enough to meet your gaze. his hands frame your face “sweetheart,” his voice barely above a whisper “let's go inside,” his teeth graze your skin “i'm going to show you just how much you deserve me.”
──────-ˋˏ àŒ»âàŒș ˎˊ-
you barely step through the threshold before gojo's hands are on you again, pushing you against the wall. his kiss is devastating, all-consuming, a plea and a demand in one. his hands roam, sliding down your sides, gripping your hips hard enough to bruise, like he's afraid you'll slip through his fingers again.
“you're killing me,” he groans, voice hoarse, “i need you. need to taste you.” your dress is barely hanging on, undone but still covering you like some cruel temptation, and that makes it worse for him. he doesn't pull it off— not yet. his fingers skim the fabric, then push it up, bunching around your waist. that's when he sees them.
your light blue panties— delicate, sheer, adorned with tiny pearls. the one he meticulously chose for you earlier. he fucking loses it at the sight.
“sweetheart.” his voice shatters, his breath stuttering as his thumb brushed the pearls, the fabric already damp. a pretty little thing wrapped up so nicely just for him. his hands shake when he presses his palm flat against your cunt, cupping you through the soaked fabric. “you're so wet. you wanted me this bad?”
you whimper, nodding, your knees already weak.
he drops to his knees so fast it's almost embarrassing. he doesn't even push your panties aside right away. instead, he leans in, kissing up your thighs— not just to tease, but to worship. his lips press against every scar, every mark, each one a silent promise. “my pretty strong girl,” he murmurs, his fingers squeezing your legs. “i will take care of them later.”
“satoru—”
his mouth finds the inside of your thigh first, biting down hard enough to make you whimper before soothing the mark with his tongue. then finally, finally, his mouth is on you. a hot, wet, messy kiss pressed right against your cunt, sucking you through the fabric of your panties. you gasp for air, your hands tightening on his white hair, earning a moan from him, an actual moan.
his tongue pressed flat against your cunt, teasing you through the pearls and lace. you gasp, body jolting, thighs trying to squeeze together, but he won't let you. his strong hands hold you open, force you to take it.
“f-fuck—" you breathe, fingers diving into his hair.
gojo grinds his face into your pussy like a possessed man. “god, you taste sweet even through this,” he slurs, drunk on it, his voice muffled. “missed having my mouth on you.”
his tongue dragged over the fabric, lapping, teasing, sucking, his fingers slipping underneath to pull them to the side. “Gojo—” your head slams back against the wall.
he didn't let you finish as he spreads your pussy open with his thumbs and buried his face between right into your core, eating you out like he was trying to ruin you for anyone else. like he needed to prove something.
it's sloppy, desperate, obscene.
he's licking into you with long, deep strokes, his nose bumping against your clit. his fingers dug into your ass, yanking you closer, forcing you to grind against his mouth, fucking his tongue with every rool of your hips.
“t-too much—” your body is trembling.
“been too long, huh? missed me eating your pretty little pussy?” sliding his tongue down to fuck into you, groaning when you clenched around him. you were so wet, so fucking wet, dripping down his chin as he worked you over, puling moans out of you that made his cock throb painfully against his zipper.
his arms wrap around your waist, locking you in place, forcing you to take everything he gives. his moans vibrate against your skin, needy, delirious, he's getting off on this as much as you are. “taste so fucking sweet,” his voice is muffled by your heat. “could stay down here forever.” he doesn't stop, doesn't let up— not even when your thighs squeeze around his head, when you're shaking so hard you can barely breathe.
your body locks up, pleasure tightening, so close it hurts. his fingers dig into your flesh, his lips wrapping around your clit, sucking just right, and that's all it takes— you break apart with a cry, shuddering, coming all over his tongue.
gojo groans like he's tasting something forbidden, something addictive, lapping it all up, refusing to let a single drop go to waste.
by the time he pulls away, his lips and chin are glistening, his pupils blown wide, his chest rising and falling like he just ran miles. your dress is still on, but your panties are pushed to the side, and gojo is a wrecked mess between your legs, staring at you like he's ready to die for you.
“come here.” you grabbed him by the collar, pulling him into a flithy desperate kiss. his hands scrambled to get his belt open, shaking so badly he barely undo it. “l-let me help,” you whisper, your hands brushing his as you pull his belt free, undoing his zipper. “i want to make it up to you” you look at him in the eyes “for running away.” your hands slide over his thighs, palming the thick outline of him through his pants. he's already rock-hard. gojo let out a pathetic whimper. “s-shit, you don't have to—”
the second you slide down his boxers, his cock slaps against his stomach, thick, flushed, dripping. “f-fuck—” he lets out when your hand wraps around him. he's so hard it must be painful, a bead of precum leaking from the flushed tip.
you dropped to your knees and looking up at him through your lashes “i need to, satoru”
gojo chokes “fuck— yeah, please—” with nothing more you took him in your mouth. his hands immediately flying to your hair, not pulling, just holding, like he needs something to ground himself
his entire body jerked as your tongue drags up his length, flicking over the tip before you sink down, taking him deep. tongue pressing against the thick vein running along his dick. you hollowed your cheeks, bobbing your head, your hand stroking the rest of him. it's slick and obscene, the sounds echoing in the hallway. your lips stretched around him.
“f-fuck— sweetheart,” gojo is a mess above you. a whimpering, panting mess. his thighs tensed, his whole body shudders. “fuck, f-fuck— too good, it's too fucking g-good—” he wants you to let you continue. he wants to watch you take him apart.
but he wants to feel you. it's been nine long years for fuck sake. he just needs your pretty little cunt wrapping around his cock. “i-if you don't stop— shit— if you d-don't stop r-right n-now, i'm gonna—” he grabs your wrists, and you pulled off with a sinful pop, lips swollen, eyes gleaming.
“bed. now.”
except
you don't make it to the bed

you get as far as the couch before you're shoving him down, straddling his lap, gripping his shoulders. his cock is still out, flushed, leaking, twitching against his stomach. and your soaked panties are still on, pulled to the side, teasing him.
“reverse cowgirl.” you say, full of tease. his brain short-circuits. “w-what?” you don't answer. you just move, shift until your back is to him. you give him a full view on the open dress, the curves of your body, the barest glimpse of your soaked panties sill clinging to your folds.
“oh, fuck— ohhh fuck.” his head drops back against the couch. his hands finding your waist as you took his base and let your hips ever so slowly sink down.
you both are drowning. “t-toru— ahh, ‘s big—” your voice breaks. you forgot how fucking big he is. surely the biggest cock you’ve ever took. “th-that's okay, s-sweetheart,” gojo is hardly holding on, shaking beneath you. “you're d-doing good— fuck— your walls are sucking me i-in. i— fuckfuckfuck—”
inch by inch, you take him, stretching, gasping, feeling him pulse inside you.
sweat drips down your back. gojo leans in, licks it up. and then—
he loses his patience.
he grabs your hips, slams you down, and fuck, you both scream. his fingers are bruising, his breath wrecked against your spine, and you're already a trembling, cock-drunk mess in his lap. “t-toru— please—”
“shhh, sweetheart,” he pants, barely coherent. “let me make you mine again.”
he drags you down onto him, thrusting up to meet you, filling you so deep you can feel him in your stomach. “ohhh— fuuuck, toru—” your hands scrambling for purchase against the couch as you rock back against him.
“that's right, sweetheart,” his forehead pressed against your bare spine. “take me— please, take all of me.” he pulls you back onto him harder, a desperate, needy little sound escaping his throat when he sees the way your pretty blue panties cling to you, your pussy stretched around the base of his cock, underwear soaked. “s-shit, your panties— fuck, that's so—” gojo can't even finish his sentence. his hands slip under your dress, his fingers finding your hard nipples and pinches them through your bra.
“satoru, i—” you sob, rolling your hips, grinding down. “that's it, ride me,” he begs, his hands palming your soft breasts. “you feel so fucking good, s-so tight—” you lift your hips just to slam back down, picking up a rhythm, and gojo loses his fucking mind. his moans spilling out in rapid desperate gasps. “fuck, baby—”
his length throbs inside you, his hips bucking up uncontrollably. he grabs at you, at your dress, your thighs, anywhere he can touch, his lips pressing frantic, open-mouthed kisses along your back.
“d-don't stop— please— ohh f-fuck, please don't stop—” he sounds so ruined, so completely fucking gone.
somehow you grind down even harder, sending the poor guy's body jolting. he's straight-up choking, his moans turn high-pitched, pathetic, whimpering. “sweetheart, i-i can't— oh fuck, i'm gonna—” his voice breaks, shaking “i can't hold it— i can't, i can't—”
you lean back against his chest, turning just enough to catch the sight of him— his head thrown back, eyes squeezed shut, mouth parted, his entire body trembling beneath you. “t-toru,” you whimper, tightening around him. “cum for me.”
that's it. that's all it takes.
Gojo slams you down onto him one last time, a ragged, broken cry ripping from his throat. His cock pulses deep inside you, his grip on you almost bruising as he spills into you, moaning like he’s coming apart at the seams. his chest rising and falling erratically, his entire body completely ruined.
and even as the pleasure fades, he doesn't let go. “you're mine. not letting you go again.” he doesn't give you time to respond as he suddenly grabs your wrists, shoving you face-down into the couch. “but that doesn't mean i'm done with you.” his body is still trembling, his cock still throbbing inside you, slick with both of your release.
“one round isn't enough,” heavy voice in your ear. he rolls his hips once, slow and deep, dragging his dick through the mess he's made of you.
your whimper is swallowed by the cushions, fingers clawing at the fabric as he strats moving again. his pace is slow at first, torturous, letting you feel every thick inch stretching you open again. then he pulls out almost completely—just the tip remained inside— before slamming back in, so deep your vision blurs.
“mhhh— satoru!” the force of it knocks the breath out of you, makes you choke on your own moan. his hands are everywhere—gripping your hips, sliding up your back, fisting your hair.
“look at you, sweetheart,” he pants, voice slurred, filthy. “so wet—so messy—fuck, listen to yourself.” and oh, you can hear it. the lewd, obscene squelching of your cunt sucking him back in with every thrust. it's dripping down your thighs, coating his cock, soaking the couch beneath you.
“s'dripping” he groans, pulling out just to watch the way your hole clenches, fluttering around nothing. your slick mixed with his cum spills out. glistening, pooling between your legs. “fucking— shit” he grits his teeth, fisting his cock, slapping it against your swollen cunt. “such a pretty mess."
“p-please,” you sob, wiggling your hips, trying to push back against him. you're so sensitive, already teetering on the edge again. “please what?” his grip tightens in your hair, yanking your head back so his lips brush your ear. “use your words, sweetheart. beg for it.” your brain is mush, squirming beneath him, but you give him what he wants.
“please— please, t-toru fuck me— use me. w-want you s-so bad— need you so bad—” his breath shudders “you're so hot,”
and he slams back into you, deeper, harder, faster. you scream, your arms giving out as he fucks you into the cushions. his pace is wild, frantic, desperate— his cock found your g-spot. hitting it over and over again. until you're body is nothing but raw nerves and white-hot pleasure.
“y-you like this?” gojo struggles finding his breathe, sweat dripping down his temple. “like getting fucked stupid? like being ruined?” you can't even speak— just babbling his name.
“sweetheart, im not gonna last— fuck, i wanna feel you cum again, i need to feel it—” he moans, he swears your cunt was made perfectly for him and only him. one hand slipping between your legs, fingers rubbing at your clit in messy, quick circles.
“come on— cum on my cock, wanna feel your cum all over me,” your whole body seizes, pleasure ripping through you so hard you think you black out for a second. you scream his name, back arching, legs shaking, walls clenching tight around him he nearly collapses. “ohh— ohhh ‘s gooood— wrapping around my cock aghn,”
his hips snap forward, his voice breaking as he lets out white long hot creams. he cums so much, it leaks out around his dick— balls.
for a moment, the only sound in the room is your ragged breathing, the lewd, sticky wetness between your legs, the faint creak of the couch beneath you. gojo breaks it with a breathless, shaky laugh. “you're a fucking dream,” he mumbles, pressing lazy, wet kisses to your shoulder. his arms wrapped tight around your waist.
“satoru
” you whisper his name, running your fingers through his damp hair. he exhales and lifts you into his arms. he carries you like you're something sacred, irreplaceable. something he'll never allow to slip through his fingers again.
"bedroom," he murmurs against your temple. “i need to love you properly.” your breath catches, a lump forming in your throat. this is different. you wrap your arms around him as he carries you through the dimly lit house, his body still inside yours, still pulsing, still clinging to every last bit of warmth you give him.
tonight, he took you like he was desperate. like he had something to prove, like he needed to reclaim you after all these years apart. but now

now he's looking at you like you hung the stars in his sky.
when he lays you down on his bed, it feels like the world stops. like you both exist in your own universe. gojo hovers over you, his hands tracing over every inch of you. he maps your body with his touch, memorizes you with his lips, presses soft, reverent kisses over your skin.
and he pauses when he reaches your scars. trembling hands ghost over them, his expression unreadable. his eyes, impossibly blue even in the dim light, flicker up to yours. his fingertips linger on your scars, tracing them so gently it make your breath hitch.
“nine years,” his lips press over each mark, worshipping. “nine agonizingly years without you.” your chest aches. you cup his face, wiping the single tear coming down his cheek with your thumb. gojo closes his eyes, leaning into your touch like he needs it to breathe. “you don't get it.” murmuring it more to himself than you.
he looks down at you like you're everything. like he doesn't believe you're real.
you don't get a chance to respond before he's kissing you—slow, deep. it's not just hunger, not just lust. it's grief, it's relief, it's the kind of love that breaks you open and remakes you all at once.
when he finally pushes into you, it's not desperate. it's deliberate— he's trying to mold himself to you, he wants to leave an imprint of himself inside you forever. “satoru—”
“i know, sweetheart,” he kisses the corner of your mouth, your neck, your collarbone. “let me love you.”
you do. you let him take his time. let him move in deep, slow thrusts that leave you breathless. let him pull every last moan from your lips until your nails dig into his back. his name falls from your lips like a prayer, over and over again.
“feel that?” satoru takes your chin in his hand, making you look at him. “feel how deep i am? how i'm filling you up?” there's no rush, just the overwhelming feeling of being connected— having each other the way you were always meant to.
“toru, please,” you gasp into his mouth. “i've got you,” he mutters, nose brushing against yours. his fingers lace through yours, pinning your hands above your head, your legs wrapping around his waist, your body arching into him.
“you're everything,” he whispers. “you always were.” your chest tightens, you feel yourself shatters as heat coils in your stomach, winding tighter and tighter.
you're so full of him, of love, of longing, of everything you've spent nine years trying to ignore.
“i love you,” and it sets something free inside you.
gojo chokes on his breath. his rhythm stutters. his fingers tighten around yours. his lips tremble against your skin. “say it again,” he begs.
“i love you, Satoru.” his hips snap into you harder, pace remaining slow as if he's trying to commit every part of you to memory. “say it again, sweetheart.”
“i love you—” his body tenses, his release crashing over him at the same time you hit yours. his lips find yours as you both shatter together.
when he collapses on top of you, he doesn't let go. doesn't even try. you're still tangled together, still connected when he speaks. “i was serious,” you hum, sleepy, completely boneless in his arms. “about what?” his fingers stroke over your hip. “about calling you my wife.”
you tilt your head, searching his face. he's looking at you like you're his entire world. he's never been more sure of anything in his life. “i don't just want you here tonight,” he says softly, kissing the tip of your nose. “i want you here forever.”
tears sting your eyes, but you smile, brushing his hair out of his face. “then start calling me that now, satoru.” gojo grins— that beautiful, bright, devastating grin.
“come here, wife.”

For either Loki or Bucky
dating someone who uses edible glitter in food just because. They love glitter anyway, but sparkly food just brings an extra spark of joy.
For the record, I’m talking about the mica based glitter, not the plastic stuff. Makes the food sparkly, does no harm to your digestive system. Also tasteless and has no texture.
Scared of a Little Glitter?
Pairing: Bucky x female reader (Y/N) new relationship
Summary: Bucky spends the night at your apartment for the first time and he learns you have a very interesting food habit when he offers to make you coffee in the morning.
A/N: This is so adorable @firedrakegirl ! Lol I absolutely love this request. Thanks so much for sending it. I hope you like it! Sorry it took me literally forever to get back to writing it. Thanks for waiting! 💚
Tumblr media
You open your eyes slowly when you feel a soft kiss on your cheek. "Good morning doll," Bucky says quietly, you can hear the smile in his deep voice. His metal arm is wrapped around your waist, keeping your back flush to his bare chest as your legs tangle with his under the covers.
"Good morning handsome," you smile sleepily, turning your head far enough to kiss his lips lightly without slipping from his comfortable grasp.
"Want some coffee?" he asks.
"Yes please," yawning as you nod and cover his metal arm with yours, your fingers intertwine with his.
"I'll need you to let go," he whispers in your ear. You pout and he chuckles in response as you let go of his hand. "It'll only take a few minutes," he kisses your shoulder from behind then pulls off the covers and gets out of your bed.
You roll over resting your chin on your palm as you watch him bend to pick up his jeans from the floor and slip them back on. "Enjoying the view?" he smirks when he looks up and makes eye contact with you.
You giggle, shaking your head, "Nope."
He laughs and walks to the edge of the bed, leaning down to kiss your lips when you look up at him. "Liar," Bucky winks at you, pulling his lips away from yours much too quickly for your liking.
Tumblr media
"Y/N, can you come here?" Bucky calls from the kitchen moments later.
You get up from bed quickly, concerned by his tone of voice. Throwing on Bucky's discarded shirt and a pair of shorts you leave your room and call back, "Everything okay?"
He waits until you enter the kitchen to respond which only makes you more curious. "I think your milk went bad," he sounds unsure of himself as he holds the container as far away as possible in his metal hand. "It's green," he shakes the milk slightly and the colors swirl together. "And blue?"
You laugh, "There's nothing wrong with it. I added glitter to it."
"Glitter?" he keeps his eyes on the container as the glitter slowly settles to the bottom and the liquid becomes white again.
"Yep," you confirm with a nod.
"Why?" your very confused boyfriend asks as you take the milk from him and unscrew the cap.
"Cause it's pretty," you answer, "Obviously."
"Okay sure but now we can't drink it," Bucky says as he watches you pour it into your mug. "Wait, Y/N-" he cringes.
"It's totally fine," you tell him with a smile. "It's not the same type of plastic glitter Tony uses in his pranks."
"It's not?" the super soldier furrows his brow as you add a bit of sugar and mix your coffee. You pour a little milk into his mug and he groans quietly.
"Nope, this is made for food," you explain. "It just makes it sparkly and fun." You pick up his mug and hand it to him.
He looks down into the mug, watching the glitter swirl around the coffee. "I'll take your word for it," he puts the mug down on the counter.
"Oh come on, give it a try," you blow on your coffee lightly then take a sip. "I promise you can't taste it and it doesn't have a weird texture or anything."
"I'll pass," he shakes his head.
"Scared of a little glitter?" you giggle.
"I'm not scared, I just don't want to drink it," Bucky says.
"Mmhmm," you hum as you walk past him to put the milk away and grab the ingredients to make breakfast.
"I'm not scared," he insists, folding his arms across his chest.
"I believe you," you say with a smirk, closing the door to the fridge. "Can you make some toast? Breads over there," you point towards the bread next to your toaster.
"Sure," he nods, thankful you've dropped the glitter topic.
Setting the eggs next to the stove you ask him, "Scrambled or omelet?"
"Scrambled please," he kisses your cheek after he loads the four slices into the toaster.
"Coming up," you grab a pan and a bowl. Bucky stands behind you, his arms around your waist as he rests his chin on your shoulder. After cracking a few eggs into the bowl you ask him, "Red or purple?"
"What?" he lifts his chin.
"Red or purple?" you ask again without any further explanation.
"Red?" he responds and you giggle at how unsure he sounds as you open the cabinet next to you and pull out the red mica glitter. "No," he groans but it's too late.
"What?" you play innocent as you whisk the eggs.
"Glitter again?" Bucky sighs deeply.
You take another sip of your coffee and hold it up for him, "You can't taste it. Give it a try."
"I'd rather not," Bucky mumbles.
You laugh, "You remind me of the grumpy guy from green eggs and ham."
"I have no idea what that means," he says, "But green eggs sound gross."
"That's what the guy in the book said," you smile as you add the red, glittered eggs to the pan. "But he never tried them, he just decided he hated them cause they were green."
"That's a fair reason," Bucky chuckles.
"Anyway..." you roll your eyes, "His friend keeps trying to get him to eat it and when he finally does-"
"He dies," he laughs louder and you swat him with the towel you keep on your stove handle.
"No!" you scold him, trying to keep from laughing. "He realizes they are delicious."
"That was my next guess," he smiles and kisses your cheek.
"I'm sure it was," you say sarcastically as you continue to cook the sparkly red eggs. He watches over your shoulder and you look up, kissing his neck. "Bucky, trust me. You won't even notice the glitter."
"Okay," he finally agrees and you smile as the toast pops. "I'll grab plates. You want butter for your toast?"
"Yep, thanks," you smile to yourself knowing you rolled the stick of butter in pink glitter a few days ago.
Bucky laughs in disbelief from behind you, "Really? Even the butter?"
"I couldn't help it," you tell him honestly when he comes back with two plates. One plate has toast with pink, melted butter and the other has plain toast. "No butter for you handsome?"
He raises an eyebrow at you to answer your question and you giggle then put half the eggs on each plate. Bucky sits next to you at the dining table, staring at his food in silence as he pushes the eggs around with his fork. You wait patiently as he finally scoops the smallest bit possible onto his fork and holds it up to his mouth. He looks over at you and you smile to encourage him.
"The things I do for you," Bucky says dramatically just before taking a bite.
You drink your coffee and he looks at you with a bit of a shocked expression. You smirk, "Can't even tell there's glitter in it can you?"
"You're so annoying," you shake your head and eat your eggs.
"No," he admits.
He pulls your chair closer to him, "You love me."
"I know," you smile and kiss his cheek as he steals a piece of your pink buttered toast, "But you're still annoying."

— always in your orbit.
Tumblr media
character ; itoshi rin || wc ; 1.0k contains/cw ; gn!reader, they/them pronouns, she/her pronouns used not for reader synopsis ; you and rin run into a stray kitten when you walk home together one evening after school.
Tumblr media
when you and rin were schoolmates, there was a large land-locked lake that you and him had to pass on your way home since you and him were neighbors on the same black. a large, vast mirror, it often reflected the setting sun and it was a sight for you to savor and engrain into your memory. there was indeed a shortcut to get to the block faster, but you insisted on walking there to take in the view.
in your third year, just before you left for college, you and him ran into a stray kitten, abandoned and left to die in a shallow cardboard box at the bottom of the hill leading into the lake. probably the runt of litter, it was small enough to curl into the palm of rin's hand, the noir of its fur spreading like ink, mimicking rin's own locks. its mewl was just barely there, clearly malnourished and weak.
you had burst out into tears at the sight, your heart clenching so tightly at the sad scene unfolding before you. given how close it was to the water, it might’ve accidentally tossed itself in and drowned. fate was on its side today at least. you wanted to take the poor thing home so badly, but your mother detested cats and your sibling had a severe cat allergy. rin, in a panic at the sight of your overflowing tears, had babbled that he'll take it home and nurse it to take it to the shelter. that shut you up good to his relief.
"can i visit it?" you had asked, wiping your face on your sleeve.
rin nodded shyly as he picked up the box with the kitten in it, making sure it rested properly in the safety of the scrappy box as he wondered what he had gotten himself into just because he wanted to make you stop crying.
because you and rin had found him just before you and him left for university, you only got to visit the kitten a spare number of times before you left the suburbs and into the big city. but in the times you were able to, rin couldn't help but let his affection for you grow as you played with the small kitten, happily laughing whenever it did any tricks to your pleasure. he supposes the addition of the kitten mewling for you to pay attention to it whenever your eyes weren't on it didn't help either, both parties clearly having an affection for each other.
"are you gonna name her?" you had asked on what would be your last visit for awhile, "i thought you guys were gonna take her to the shelter once she was nursed back to health."
rin shrugged, watching intently from his desk as you wiggled your fingers and tickled the kitten's small, now much more plump belly thanks to rin and his parents' care. "dunno. we just call her kitty for now."
you deadpanned. "you named a kitten 'kitty?' you can't be serious."
"i'm not the best creative," he muttered as he returned back to his homework. "it's not like we're gonna keep her anyway, i don't want to get too attached to her."
years later, unbeknownst to you, the cat, now four times bigger and a little chubbier than most, still resides within the walls of the itoshi residence. because you only got to visit home a spare number of times, you hardly had any times to visit your neighbors on the block to check up on how they were doing, how rin was doing. a small ditch formed itself between you and rin's friendship, as he went to study abroad in paris so he could play for pxg while you stayed in the country to attend the local city school, meaning that communication was often scarce. but you still tried, though it often ended up with emptiness from his end.
eventually it was clear that your energy for him was going nowhere, so you stop trying to text him to see how he's doing. so you're a little surprised when one weekend that you come home, your parents tell you to get ready for a surprise dinner with the itoshis, and that though you only think it'd just be rin's parents, their youngest son sitting in the living room.
it was the first time you had seen him in three years. he was taller, more handsome, more mature. you don't see it, but when rin looks back at you, something glimmers in his eyes when he spots you looking prettier, more elegant, more sophisticated. both of you are clearly in the awkward pool, trying to gather up the right words as you're reunited for the first time in years.
he swallows thickly after two anxious "hello"'s have been exchanged. he coughs.
"you look—" rin's voice cracks.
at twenty-one years old, the ghost of puberty still seems to haunt him and he can't think of a more embarrassing moment for his voice to enact in such a manner.
both of you abruptly pause. a flush of pink scatters across his face in the moment of silence.
"... good. you look good," he mutters, his voice tight in embarrassment.
you giggle, that same giggle that rin would often replay in his mind when he was abroad in paris and feeling homesick, the sound of your bubbly laugh reminding him of home.
"not too bad yourself," you murmur softly, grinning as you give him a light, teasing punch. a quiet forgiveness blessed upon him at your gentle eyes looking at him, ones he's missed looking deeply into.
rin would never tell you, but there was something about your touch that'd always send his nerves rushing a certain warmth through his veins, always feeling a little lighter for some reason, less tense.
when you and him settle down at the table, his father perks up as he plates the pickled vegetables.
"oh, rin," he says and turns to his son, "before we eat, make sure to give (y/n) her tuna with her food."
at the sound of your name, you lift your head, confused. next to you, rin's eyes widen and a panic bubbles inside of them at his dad's reminder.
"oh, um," you begin to start, blinking. "thank you, but i'm actually allergic to fish."
suddenly, a loud meow is heard from behind you and the sound of a cat perks your ears. before rin has a chance to reply, you turn and see a familiar black cat strutting into the kitchen, tail swishing in the air.
"i thought—!" you turn back to rin, who has another fluster of rouge running across his face and the tip of his ears.
"ohoho, oops," rin's father laughs heartily to his son's disdain. "forgot about that. you see..."
rin shoots daggers at his father. "dad, don't."
his father only smiles at him before he turns to you, tittering a bit with his wife who seems to know where he's headed.
"... our cat's name is also named (y/n)."
Tumblr media
a/n ; not the best thing i've written but i still wanted to write it since i was inspired by this one page from ao haru ride and thought that kou and rin would def be one in the same if rin were ever a shojo protag. esp since both characters have conflicts with their older brothers lol

Say what would cuddling with each of the ancients be like?
(At first was thinking of asking for just white lily cookie but then I thought 'eh, why leave the other ancients out?')
Sorry it took so long to respond, had stuff to do. Also, I’m not the best at explaining. But here goes-
Pure Vanilla
It’s rare for you and him to cuddle, tho that’s because he likes to cuddle in a very specific area
It’s a part of the library where there is a circle of pillows and blankets with a blanket floor. He calls it his “flower bed”
When he wants to, he’ll slightly tug against your clothes as well as redirecting your path to the library
It’s actually not that bad, probably the best one to cuddle with
He is gentle when rapping his arms around you as well as squeezing you.
He more or less treats you like a giant teddy bear in a way.
But there is one problem
 time.
He cuddles with you for HOURS. Only stopping when you need to use the restroom or food. Either way, when it’s cuddle time, your stuck in cuddle time
Hollyberry
Extremely rare for her to actually cuddle with you. like, at all.
He is more of a hug person than cuddle. Even when she attempts to, it doesn’t last long.
As said before, she only cuddles with you when no one is around. But even then it’s still very rare for her to do that.
But drunk? Oh hell yeah, she’ll do that without a second thought
Anyway-
When she does actually cuddle with you, you will know by the fact she doesn’t attempt to break your body with her strength.
it’s feels more like a hug that lasts more then a few seconds. It quick.
Dark Cacao
It like a strong child cuddle a teddy bear. And YOU’RE the teddy bear.
He mostly cuddles with you during the night and always when sleeping with you.
It is quite comfortable when he does do this. Mostly because he raps a blanket around the both of you (if you aren’t on his bed), and he is very comfy if you lay on him.
But there one small problem

No matter what you can’t escape from him due to being the physically strongest of all the ancients.
That also means your movements are restricted as he does squeeze you against him. Tho gentle, it’s NOT fun to be in.
because of his strength, he will also move you around side to side while carrying you. It’s a lot worse.
Golden Cheese
Like Dark Cacao, she mostly cuddles with you when you’re going to sleep.
Unlike Dark Cacao

Tumblr media
There will be drawing of them later, don’t worry-

best of luck pal, you aren’t getting up any time soon.
It’s much worse if your in a vegetative state :D
White Lily
Now to be fair, she is technically the best one for cuddles.
But GOOD  G O D  does she love cuddles.
She won’t directly state she wants to, but you can tell very much tell by being extra clingy and having a more soft, playful tone when she speaks.
If you don’t get those, she’ll “gently” take you to a private area. Which is either a modified gazebo that’s similar to Pure Vanilla’s Flower Bed or just her room.
By “gently” I mean “dragging you there forcefully”
But it’s still nice, even if you have to spend almost the rest of the day like that. Except when you need to use the restroom, the you two will take a break.
She doesn’t hold onto you too tight, and makes sure you are comfortable as well.
So yeah, even tho she is the best when it comes to cuddling

It comes at a cost too.

Chapter Two
chapter warnings: mentions of drinks (although never stated as alcoholic?)
happy friday!! i did NOT expect this story to get so much love so far, i can't believe it?? seriously thank you so much!! i'm hoping it lives up to it's expectations as it's been so so fun to write, i've definitely fallen back in love with writing and i think this story will certainly reflect that <3
also, like with nothing ever after, i thought i'd share my playlist for this story! i wanted to make it fit with the chapters but nope it is an unorganised mess, and i will still be adding to it as i write more! but anyways are we ready to face noah again...
âœŠâ€ąÂ·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·â€ąâœŠâ€ąÂ·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·â€ąâœŠ
You adjusted the strap of your dress in front of Matt's hallway mirror, trying your best to ignore the anxiety crawling up your spine. This wasn’t supposed to be difficult, not for you. Matt and Alyson were getting married, and you were invited to celebrate with them. It's not like this was your big day. So it should be simple, right?
Except everything about this felt complicated. Besides Bryan (and now Matt and Folio), you hadn’t seen any of the guys in the band since last year, so you were worried about how they'd react, especially Noah. You couldn't even think about him without your chest tightening, so the thought of seeing him again had your heart beating faster than you were comfortable with.
However, you pushed all these thoughts to the back of your mind, attempting to focus on the task at hand.
“Are you ready?” You asked Matt, before helping him adjust his tie.
“As ready as I can be.”
You chuckled, smoothing down the fabric of his jacket, admiring the way he looked in his suit.
“You look great. Alyson’s going to lose it when she sees you.”
Matt smiled, but there was a hint of nervousness in his eyes.
“I just
I don’t want to mess this up, you know?”
You paused, giving him a reassuring look.
“You’re not going to mess anything up. You love her. She loves you. That’s all that matters.”
He met your gaze, his usual confidence had been replaced by anxiety, but he still put on his best smile.
“I’m lucky, huh?”
“Very.” You agreed softly, your smile turning a little bittersweet as your mind brought you back to somebody.
Noah.
How, if things were different, he would've been here with you. You could've been attending your best friends wedding together.
But instead, you almost felt like you shouldn't be going. He surely wouldn't want to see you again, how would he react to you turning up to his best friends wedding?
Matt seemed to notice you drift away into thought, so he cleared his throat.
“Alright, enough of this sentimental stuff. We've got a wedding to get to!”
As he turned toward the door, you called out.
“Wait, Matt. You’re forgetting something.”
He suddenly spun back around.
“I am?”
You dug into your bag and pulled out a small box, handing it to him.
“A little something I got you for good luck.” You said with a wink.
"Good luck?" He raised an eyebrow, "Isn't this just for the bride?"
"Well, not this time." You chuckled, watching him inspect it.
Matt opened the box, revealing a small silver keychain with a tiny plush raccoon hanging from it.
“You know me too well.” He grinned, tucking it into his pocket. “Thanks, y/n. Seriously. You were the first person I told when I thought about proposing, you’ve been a part of this since day one. Even if it's tough for you... I’m really glad you’re here.”
You smiled, feeling that familiar lump at the back of your throat.
“Wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”
As Matt stepped out, you couldn’t help but think back to when you first met the guys, and how so much had changed, but so much had stayed the same.
You still remember when Matt first met Alyson, he had told you it was love at first sight, which made it even more difficult for him to ask her out on their first date, fearing she'd say no and he'd spend the rest of his life alone.
And now here they were, all these years later, on their wedding day.
Something in the air felt different this afternoon as you stepped out of the house into the warm sun. For the first time in months, you felt hopeful. You were starting to feel like maybe you were ready for you own next step, whatever that might be.
Maybe it was time to make a profile on some dating apps.
âœŠâ€ąÂ·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·â€ąâœŠâ€ąÂ·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·â€ąâœŠ
Your anxiety was sky high when you wandered through the venue, knowing he would be there somewhere. The venue itself was beautiful, the colour theme was red and cream, with touches of black, so all the decorations were set out to match.
You took a deep breath, smoothing your dress as you scanned the room, your eyes landing on Jolly.
You felt a relief wash over you at the familiar face, so you began to walk over to greet him and Nicole.
“Hi!” You grinned, noticing their surprise as they turned around to see you.
“Oh my God, y/n!” Nicole wrapped her arms around you, embracing you in a warm hug as Jolly chuckled.
“Let her breathe, ‘Cole.”
“Sorry,” she laughed, “You look so beautiful
How have you been? Jolly kinda told me about the... Situation
”
“I’m okay,” you said, forcing a smile, “Just a little nervous about seeing him again. But that’s not what todays for, it’s Matt and Alyson’s big day and I won’t let him ruin it.”
“So how long have you been back?” Jolly asked, sliding an arm around his girlfriend's waist.
“I got here a couple days ago, I’m staying with Matt at the moment, but me and Folio are actually looking to find a place together around here!”
Their faces screwed up, a look of horror washing over them.
“You and Folio
?!”
“As friends, Jesus!” You laughed, “He wants to get out of Noah’s place, and I’ve got to be out of my place by the end of the month, so you might be seeing a whole lot more of me.”
“That’s great!” Nicole smiled.
“I’m sure Noah would agree.” Jolly smirked, before Nicole gave him a look, making him apologise.
“So
 Is he here?” You asked.
“By the bar,” Jolly nodded, “I can’t believe he brought her.”
Your chest burned, turning back to look at Jolly.
“Her?”
“You don’t know about Amy?”
“No?”
“Shit,” he ran his hand through his hair, “She’s this girl he’s kind of... Dating. I thought one of the guys would've told you.”
“Why should they? What he does doesn’t concern me anymore,” you said, as if you were trying to convince yourself, “He can do whatever he wants.”
Then, as you looked away again, you spotted him by the bar.
Noah.
It was like the air shifted the moment you spotted him.
He stood leaning against the bar, a drink in hand as he spoke to Ruffilo. The sharp black suit he wore fit too well, his dark hair parted in the middle, falling over his eyes perfectly like it always did.
He was still Noah. Still the stupid, hot bastard.
And then, as if he felt you staring, he looked up.
The moment your eyes met, the world around you quietened.
His posture stiffened ever so slightly, fingers tightening around his glass. For a moment, neither of you could look away. You noticed the look of surprise in his eyes, he clearly didn’t expect to see you here.
You’d spent the weeks leading up to today trying to prepare for this, but nothing could have braced you for actually seeing him again. Especially when he looked this damn good.
Then, just as quickly as the moment arrived, it shattered.
A perfectly manicured hand curled around his arm, and a girl leaned her head on his shoulder.
So that must be Amy.
She was stunning, the type of beauty that would make you turn your head on the streets. Everything about her was flawless, her hair, her dress, her makeup- if you didn’t know better, you’d think she was the one getting married today.
And suddenly, you felt small.
“Everything okay?” Jolly asked softly, snapping you out of whatever was going on in your mind.
You swallowed hard, willing away the tightness in your chest as you nodded.
“Yep... Never been better.”
âœŠâ€ąÂ·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·â€ąâœŠâ€ąÂ·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·â€ąâœŠ
As you all began to get into your places for the actual ceremony, you caught Folio, dragging him by the arm to the corner of the room.
“Why the fuck didn’t you tell me about Amy?” You raised an eyebrow, trying to keep your voice down.
“I wasn’t sure how
” He explained, “They’re nothing serious, I didn’t even know she’d be here today. Fuck, I don’t even know how she is, she wasn’t invited!”
"Nothing serious? Nick, Jolly told me they're dating!"
"Okay, maybe they are..."
“How long?”
“Huh?”
“How long have they been together?” You said through gritted teeth, trying to keep your composure.
“...A few months.”
You nodded your head.
You had no reason to be upset, angry or even jealous. He wasn’t yours anymore, he was never really yours to begin with.
Your eyes drifted over to them, chatting by the front row. You watched the way her hand brushed his arm, the way he smiled down at her, looking at her like she was the only person in the room.
You don't care. You shouldn't care. Why did you care?
“I’m sorry,” you said, shaking your head, “I shouldn’t care anymore, should I?”
Nick’s expression softened, and he frowned as he took your hand in his.
“You loved him
There’s no stronger feeling than that. If it was really real, you can’t expect to just make it stop.”
“I guess,” you sighed, your gaze catching a very stressed out Matt pacing the floor, “I guess we better get in our places.”
“Yeah,” Folio smiled, dropping your hand, “Good idea.”
The two of you walked down to your seats, and you were glad to see you were in between the two Nick’s.
“Oh, Nick!” You grinned as you greeted him, “I’ve missed you so much.”
His arms pull you in to a warm hug as he stands up.
“Hey! It’s so good to see you again
I missed you too, what happened?”
“What do you mean?” You asked, pulling away.
“I get why you’d stop talking to Noah, but us too?”
“I didn’t think you guys would ever want to talk to me again,” you frowned, “I’m sorry.”
“Of course we'd still want you in our lives, it'd be weird without you," he chuckled, "We all make mistakes, y/n."
“Yeah, some worse than others.” You sigh, sitting down in your seat.
Your eyes meet Noah's again as you look up, like he had already been watching you. Your breath caught and you felt your face heat up as you quickly diverted your vision, and he did the same.
"We didn't tell him you were coming," Nicholas explained, "He asked me about you last night, I had to lie and tell him I didn't know if you'd be here."
“I’m starting to think I shouldn’t be.”
âœŠâ€ąÂ·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·â€ąâœŠâ€ąÂ·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·Â·â€ąâœŠ
The reception was beautiful, warm string lights draped across the garden of the venue, casting everything in a soft, golden glow as the sun began to set. You tried your best to enjoy yourself, talking with your friends, having a few drinks, meeting some of Matt and Alyson's other friends. You wanted tonight to be fun, for you all to look back with happy memories of it. But one thing made that difficult.
One person.
You had done your best to avoid Noah all evening, but it was impossible to ignore his presence, the sound of his voice, his laughter over the music. Even when you weren't looking, you could still feel he was there. You tried to keep your eye on him to make sure you didn't come face to face unexpectedly.
You had made it through the first hour unscathed.
Then, you slipped up.
You approached the bar for another drink, forgetting that he had been standing just a few feet away.
You noticed Amy had left early, as Noah was alone for most of the night, and through Jolly, you had learned the details of their relationship. She was a model and a wannabe singer who had reached out to Noah for help writing a song. Instead of making music, they clearly made something else.
You weren’t sure who moved first, but somehow, you both ended up side by side at the bar. Close enough that you could smell his cologne, the smell that was once comforting now filled you with nerves.
Noah barely glanced at you as he leaned against the counter, fingers drumming against the wood while he waited for his drink.
“You look
” He started but then stopped, shaking his head.
You slowly turned to him, raising an eyebrow.
“I look?”
“Never mind.” He scoffed, bringing his glass to his lips. “Forget I said anything.”
He exhaled sharply, eyes narrowing like he was annoyed with himself for almost slipping. The words had nearly left his lips, and for a moment he had forgotten how this was supposed to be, how he was supposed to act cold, distant, indifferent.
But you saw it in his eyes as he looked at you, and you heard the way his voice softened as he spoke to you. There was something there that told you he missed you, even if hed never admit it.
You hated how much it made your heart race.
A tense silence stretched between you, filled with all the things left unsaid. The kind that made it impossible to breathe.
Until finally, he broke it.
“I wasn’t sure you’d come today.” His voice was quieter this time.
“Yeah, well
 They're my friends too.”
Before you could say anything else, the music slowed and Matt and Alyson’s first dance started.
Everyone turned to watch them sway together beneath the twinkling lights. The moment was intimate, beautiful, and it should’ve been nothing more than that. But standing here, next to Noah, watching two people so in love, it made your heart ache in your chest.
You thought about what you've lost, what you could've had with Noah. How this could've been the two of you one day, but instead you were stood side by side in silence, like you were nothing more than strangers.
You felt his gaze shift to you, and despite yourself, you turned to meet it.
There was something in his expression you couldn’t quite place, softness, maybe, or hesitation. Like he wanted to say something, but knew better.
Your fingers rested against the bar, just inches from his. Your breath hitched when his hand shifted ever so slightly, the smallest movement, like he almost wanted to close the distance. For a moment, it felt like nothing had changed, like the past year had been nothing but a bad dream.
But then reality came crashing back.
He had Amy now. He had clearly moved on.
And so you pulled your hand back.
His eyes flickered downward, landing on the necklace you wore. The one he had given you for your birthday. His lips parted slightly, as if he wanted to say something but couldn’t find the words
"You still wear it?" He asked, almost as if he was in disbelief.
You swallowed hard, your fingers instinctively reaching for the necklace his eyes were fixed on. The one he had given you on your birthday, the day before everything turned to shit.
"I never take it off," you admitted, "I guess... It reminds me of you."
Without thinking, he reached out, fingertips ghosting over the pendant and gently brushing over your skin, a barely-there touch that sent a shiver down your spine. But the second he made contact, something in him snapped.
His hand recoiled like he had been burned.
Without thinking, he reached out, fingertips ghosting over the pendant, a barely-there touch that sent a shiver down your spine. But the second he made contact, something in him snapped.
His hand recoiled like he had been burned.
He straightened, swallowing hard, his expression closing off as quickly as it had softened. Whatever moment you’d just shared, he crushed it, along with any hopes you had that maybe there was still something between you, that your relationship could be salvaged.
“Enjoy the wedding." He said, voice unreadable, before walking away.
You let out a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding, gripping the edge of the bar to steady yourself.
So that was how it was going to be.
Fine.
You finished your drink and headed back to the table where Nick was sitting with Jolly and Nicole.
“Everything okay?” He asked, a slight smirk tugging on his lips.
“Yeah. Why?” You questioned, sitting down beside him.
“We saw you talking to him
 What did he say?”
You sighed, your eyes drifting away to him, watching how he laughed with his friends. At least he wasn’t hurting anymore, or so you thought.
Noah, on the other hand, didn’t know how he felt. He had spent so long telling himself he was over you, that he had moved on. But the moment he saw you tonight, he realised that nothing had really changed.
The feelings were still there.
And he hated himself for it.
“He said he wasn’t sure I’d come tonight.” You finally say, turning back to Folio.
“Was that it?” He scoffed, “The way he was looking at you I thought you’d come back and tell us he confessed his undying love-”
“Nick, leave it, please.” You groaned, watching as Matt and Alyson still danced on the floor, a more upbeat song playing now.
“No. I know there’s something he’s hiding, y/n. The two of you need to talk, you need to-”
“Nick.” You repeated, “Stop. I don’t want to do this tonight. He has a girlfriend now, I need to respect that.”
Nicole turned to look at you, an almost sympathetic look on her face before she got up, reaching a hand out to you.
“C’mon, dance with me.”
“Me?” You laughed, shooting a look at Jolly as if to say it should be you!
“Yes, you! We need to lighten the mood, and I love this song!” She grinned as she pulled you along to the dancefloor.
Do you believe in life after love

“You’re lucky I love you!” You grinned, "I wouldn't dance with anybody else!"
"Oh yeah?" She smirked, eyes trailing over to Noah, who seemed to be watching from the corner of his eye.
The two of you danced along, and after Matt left, Alyson joined the two of you.
“Are you having fun?!” She shouted over the music.
“We are now!” Nicole smiled.
“I can’t believe you’re finally married!” You shouted, and Alyson nodded.
“I know! And to my best friend
If only I could go back in time and tell myself
 Things will get better
” You could see her eyes filling with tears, and you quickly wrapped your arms around her.
“Hey!” You frowned, wiping away her tears, "None of that! This is a happy night!"
Alyson let out a teary laugh, nodding as she hugged you back.
"You're right. I'm just- I'm so happy, I don’t think I’ve ever felt like this before."
Nicole wrapped her arms around both of you, pulling you into a tight embrace as she called for a group hug.
The three of you danced along to the music together for a moment, and for the first time in forever, you let yourself be happy. You let yourself enjoy the moment, surrounded by your favourite people, your friends that you considered family.
But then, as you turned, your eyes met his again.
Noah was still there, still watching.
His expression was unreadable, but there was something in his gaze that you couldn't quite place. A look of regret? Longing?
You weren’t sure.
And you weren’t sure you even wanted to know.
So, instead of lingering, instead of thinking too much, you turned back to your friends and let yourself laugh and have fun, you let yourself feel like everything was okay.
Just for tonight.

wrapped [ d. winchester ]
synopsis. tired and fed up, the winchesters mess up on their way to a case and a new human being is bought into the world notes. 0.8k words, headcannons style, being completely naked infront of the boys, kinda graphic (if u squint for the necklace thing), inspired by @daylighted ‘s baby!reader she’s the absolute cutest character and i wanted to write something plot-heavy so this came to me ! — comments & rbs appreciated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⭑ sam and dean are on the road, clearly both tired from the back-to-back hunts but pushing through anyway. dean’s driving a little too fast, sam is a little too quiet and while they’re both dozing off (yes, o while driving), the music only gets louder— until all they hear is static.
⭑ they both jump which means dean’s foot is off the gas faster than he can comprehend and immediately on the brakes. someone appears in front of the impala, standing up as if they were sleeping on the road. how the hell hadn’t dean seen them?
⭑ and it’s a witch, he just knows it. she smiles, and he motions to sam that she’s dangerous before they both pull their guns out of their pockets, pulling the safety off and getting out of the car.
⭑ “oh, well that’s just not nice, is it?” she pouts, using only her hands so the guns fly out of their hands, with it, dean’s ring. he curses loudly, moving to try and catch it but she mutters a spell and he’s held in place.
⭑ sam surprised him by muttering a spell too and she immediately cries out in pain, dean uses it as an opportunity to run after his ring and gun but half way there, she screams. the witch screams loud enough for sam to break the spell and cover his ears— dean finds his gun on the floor and shoots her leg twice. she falls onto the floor kneeling, facing dean with a wrath he didn’t know monsters had in them.
⭑ she starts shouting a spell and dean, in exhaustion, let’s her, his head resting on the asphalt, accepting whatever she’s going to throw his way. he reaches out to hold his ring in his palm— but he hears a loud shot and looks up to see sam’s witch-killing-gun in his hand, her hands sprawled towards dean.
⭑ “oh, thank god. that could’ve been bad.” except it is. the witch’s half finished spell is a thousand times worse than if she had finished it, because next to dean is now a
chick. and dean’s hand under her, right where he was holding the ring.
⭑ sam points the gun at you and you start honest to god crying. in under a second. dean stands up, looking over at sam. “put it down!” he mumbles. “is that— oh my god, it’s my ring.”
⭑ “what’s your ring?” sam asks and dean looks over at you, fully undressed except for the charm around your neck, his silver ring. maybe the witch conjured up someone next to dean. that’s powerful— he’s not sure the witch killing bullets are gonna hold long.
⭑ he looks back and— fuck! she’s gone. sam does the same and scoffs. “freakin’ witches, man.” he sighs then faces you, holding his hand out “hey, you okay?”
⭑ you nod, taking his hand and standing up, your legs wobbling only slightly. “can i take the ring?” he asks slowly and you can’t help but nod, trusting him fully.
⭑ except the second he tries to pull the necklace, you scream. your hand running over the back of your neck and dean panics, turning you round to take a look and oh god.
⭑ the necklace doesn’t have a clip because it’s a part of you. it’s embedded into your skin. it only flows from the sides of your neck so dean does you a favour and uses your brown hair to cover it. “i, uh— we should probably— fuck, sam, get some of my clothes.”
⭑ sam does and when you’re dressed in flannel and way-too-big jeans, you’re not more comfortable than you were a minute ago. you feel safe, you know dean, he’s
yours. you know that much. you’re not too familiar with sam and it’s all new, most of all. the colors, sounds, smells are all too much. your tears are still drying and your eyes finally just stopped watering. “come on, we’ll take you home.”
⭑ when you’re in the car, you feel home. dean says home is in lebanon, though, so you sit tight in the backseat and explore the entire space. there’s a small carving in the side. d.w and s.w— that, you know.
⭑ your eyes widen, as if looking into the memory. shouting, screaming— a faint ‘yes, sir’ and arguing. so much anger that you cant handle. you can’t control your breathing. it hurts.
⭑ “hey! hey! jules, come on!” you snap out of it, taking a quick look around. “hey, you okay?”
⭑ you nod and notice that you’re in the middle of nowhere with sam next to you in the car and dean standing outside, holding your shoulders. “is that my name? jules?”
⭑ sam looks at dean, the same question on the tip of his tongue. “i, uh,” he looks to his brother sheepishly, “no, it’s just. jewelry. jewl. jules. it fits, you know?” you do.

angel baby - theodore nott x reader
p: theodore nott x fem!reader w: just some fluff, theo pining, swearing, drinking, ooc(?), kinda modern au? (mentions 1996 romeo and juliet) s: after hearing who his crush is being at the slytherin's halloween party, theo decides to impress her with his own costume a/n: i know i know, very late, but i finally got around to finishing this and still wanted to post it
It was a week before Halloween, which to many, was one of the most anticipated holidays other than Christmas. But it wasn't the candy upper year students were excited for. Rather, it was the Slytherin party that would be happening that night.
All the girls were chatting about who they would be for the night. Ideas ranging from vampires to scantily dressed nurses. It was a night to show off.
Theo never cared much about the costume part. The past couple years he settled on skeleton face paint, mainly because his roommate Enzo has a surprisingly good eye for art.
Truthfully, he had planned to do the same again, despite Blaise's insistence on doing something different. But plans had changed for him.
Theo was at the Slytherin table with the rest of his friends as they chatted about the upcoming event of the season.
"I'm so excited for this party," exclaimed Daphne. "Have you guys decided on what you're wearing?"
"I've decided on a black cat," Pansy told them. "Got the perfect outfit and everything."
"Oooh you're gonna look so good Pans!" (Y/N) told her.
"I know, I'm so excited. What about you Daph?"
Daphne smiles. "I'm going to be a vampire." A sound of 'Ooos' was heard after the girl's answer. "What about you (Y/N)?"
(Y/N) giggles a bit before responding, the sound making Theo's heart pick up a bit. "Do you guys remember that one muggle movie we watched during summer?"
"Was it that weird one where that girl and boy died at the end because their families hated each other?" Draco chimes in.
The girl scoffed at Draco's comment. "Well yes, but you know its more than that." The boy rolled his eyes.
"Anyway, I think I want to be Juliet from the party scene."
"Oooh, is that the one where she's dressed as an angel?" asked Daphne. "You're going to look stunning!"
(Y/N) grins, thanking Daphne. Her smile made Theo's lips twitch a bit, wanting to mirror her. A small nudge was felt on the boy's left side where Mattheo sat, smirking at him. Caught red handed.
It wasn't like nobody knew about Theo's crush on his fellow Slytherin classmate. In fact, Mattheo had been the first to know about it, albeit, not by choice. Theo had kept his interest for the girl low key. It was just that Mattheo had notice Theo staring a little too long at (Y/N) one time and had basically got his friend to confess his crush.
After that, Mattheo had made it his mission to help Theo to get with (Y/N).
"I just wished I could have someone be my Romeo though," (Y/N) confided with her friends. "It would make the costume feel more complete."
"He was the knight right?" Asked Pansy. "That would be so cute."
This had caught Theo's attention again. The gears were beginning to turn in his head.
Back at the dorms, Theo was pacing, Enzo and Mattheo watching him from Mattheo's bed.
"So are you going to tell us what's happening or are we going to continue watching you burn a path in the floor?" Enzo asked his dormmate. "Feel like I'm getting dizzy from watching you."
Theo stops his tracks before looking towards his two friends. "I need to find a halloween costume."
Enzo stared at the boy, confused. While Mattheo had a feeling as to what was stirring in his friend's mind.
"You're going to match with (Y/N), huh?" Mattheo asked.
"Finally!" Enzo shouts, startling the other two. "Thank Merlin, I won't have to do that fucking face paint anymore. You know I was getting tired of that shit, right?"
Theo rolled his eyes at his friend.
"Anyways," Enzo began. "What's (Y/N) going to be?"
Mattheo answered. "An angel basically."
"She wants to be Juliet from that movie we watched over the summer." Theo explained to him as he sat on his own bed. "But during that party scene."
"And Romeo here wants to be her knight in shining armor," Mattheo said.
"Ooh. And let me guess, you need our help?"
"No, well, kinda," Theo said. "Help me find the perfect costume."
"And what will we get out of this?" Mattheo had a look of mischief in his eyes.
"Nothing."
"Well. Then you wouldn't mind if I asked (Y/N) to the party would you? Share a drink or two with her, maybe dance?"
"You wouldn't."
"Oh I would," his roommate said. "Unless you do my homework for a month."
"No bloody way."
"Fine. Three weeks."
"Two and that's final."
Mattheo thought for a second before grinning. "Alright, two weeks it is. Didn't think you'd actually go for it though, was just joking a bit."
"Oh you bastard, I'm going to kill you!"
That weekend, the boys had dedicated their time at Hogsmeade to finding stuff for Theo's costume. They had found the items surprisingly quick thanks to Enzo and his eye for things.
The three had ended their day at the Three Broomsticks with Draco and Blaise, who noticed the bags they carried, but decided to not question it (didn't stop Mattheo from telling them what was going on).
The day of the party had come way too soon for Theo's liking. He stood in front of the mirror, staring at himself with the costume on.
What if (Y/N) doesn't like his costume? What if she thought it was stupid and laughed at him? Should he have done this?
So many thoughts and scenarios ran through Theo's mind, he was half tempted to take the costume off and go for a smoke.
"Theo?"
The boy looked towards the door to find Enzo and Mattheo. The two were examing Theo's current state.
"You good?" Mattheo asked. Theo just shrugged.
"Come on mate," Enzo said to him. "She'll like the costume. And if she doesn't, who cares? Now, let's go for some shots. I know Mattheo has been itching for some."
After a few more minutes, Enzo and Mattheo had successfully gotten Theo out of the dorm room and into the Slytherin common room. And true to his word, Enzo had gotten a couple shots into his dorm mates to liven things up.
Things were going alright for Theo. A couple shots had gotten him feeling more loose, but he was still thinking about (Y/N), whose whereabouts were unknown to him.
He was grabbing another drink when he heard his name being called. Confused, he turned around to find the culprit.
"(Y/N)."
"Hi Theo."
The boy took a second to look at (Y/N)'s outfit, or what he thought was a second. He saw how intricate it was, almost like it was a replica of the costume from the film.
She looked like an angel.
"I like your costume," Theo heard her say. Seems like he wasn't the only one looking.
"Thank you. Don't look too bad yourself."
(Y/N) smiled at his comment. "Thanks. Made it myself."
"Well it looks lovely," Theo said to her. "Drink?"
She nodded, taking the drink Theo offered her.
"Who are you supposed to be?" She asked after taking a sip.
"Oh uh," the boy began. "Romeo. From the movie we watched back during the summer. Thought his party fit was cool."
"Really? Well I like it. You look really good Theo."
Theo felt his cheeks heat up. She liked his costume. He would have to thank Enzo (and maybe Mattheo) for his help.
The music in the common room had begun to slow down. Couples gathered with each other and swayed to the music. Theo turned his head and saw Mattheo dancing with a girl, but he was looking directly at him.
'Ask her' Mattheo mouthed to him, discreetly pointing at the girl next to him.
Theo nodded his head at his mate before turning to his crush beside him. Just as he was about to speak, the words on the tip of his tongue were stolen.
"Dance with me?"
(Y/N) looked up at Theo, waiting for his answer. Out of shock, Theo just nodded. Taking his answer, (Y/N) pulled Theo closer to the center of the room where everyone was. She wrapped her arms around his neck, his hands on her waist. Eyes gazing at each other. Everything felt perfect.
"So, why did you choose this costume, Theo?"
He faltered in his steps, surprised at the sudden question. He had two choices, he could be honest and admit his feelings, or lie and say Mattheo made him do it, which is something he would actually do. But the more he looked at her, realizing how close they were, he needed to say the right thing.
"I did it for you."
"For me?"
Theo nodded. "I heard how you wanted someone to match with you to make your costume feel complete. I wanted to make your night special. Because. I like you (Y/N)."
(Y/N) halted her steps, confusing Theo.
"You like me?"
The boy nodded, feeling slightly nervous. "Actually have a while."
(Y/N) took in this new information, nodding at him. The silence between them was killing Theo. He was half tempted to kill Mattheo if she said she didn't like him. Since technically, if he thinks about it, it would be.
As Theo was going through every little thought and concern in his head, he missed out on the girl in front of him trying to speak to him. He finally tuned back into the world when she said his name.
"Hm?"
"Theo, I was trying to tell you, I like you too," (Y/N) tells him with a smile on her face.
"Really?"
"Really."
"Well bloody hell finally," said a voice.
The two turned to see Mattheo looking at the two, seemingly having stopped dancing to spy on this moment.
"Thought I would never see the day come where Theo finally admits his feelings for you. I was thinking I was gonna have to make a move myself."
"Mattheo shut the fuck up." Theo glared at his roommate.
Mattheo stuck his hands up. "Alright, alright. I'll leave you too lovebirds alone. Don't be surprised when Enzo is asking you questions when you come back to the dorm." The Slytherin took his leave, relieving Theo.
"I hate that motherfucker," he mutters, raking his hands through his hair.
(Y/N) chuckles. "Maybe, but I think you don't mind him. You guys are best friends after all."
Theo laughs, shaking his head.
"So, I hear there's a Hogsmeade trip happening next week. Would you want to go on a date there?"
"I'd like that." (Y/N) grins.

Beyond Plus Ultra! – The anatomy of falling in love
Chapter 1: See You, Space Cowboy... Or Not
wc: 4370 words
Tumblr media
“That's what I've been telling you, dude! If Kai had just closed the portal, none of this would've happened!” Heeseung repeated for what felt like the thousandth time in the last 48 hours.
“But he didn't close it!” Beomgyu replied, shoving another bite of sandwich into his mouth. Soobin could’ve sworn he heard Beomgyu smirking, enjoying every moment of watching Heeseung lose his mind over a Dungeons & Dragons disaster.
Beomgyu couldn't care less about the stupid D&D portal that Hueningkai failed to close last Saturday. The guy was all about chaos and disruption, and the fate of the fictional world? Well, that was clearly secondary. Heeseung, on the other hand, was serious about D&D as an ancient monk guarding a holy relic. For him, their weekly session was like attending mass... if mass had dice and dragons..
“And that’s why you’re a Bard and I’m a Druid. You suck,” Heeseung said dramatically, stealing a bite from Beomgyu’s sandwich like it was the most important thing in the world. “Don’t come crying to me when the dragons burn the entire city on Saturday.”
Beomgyu grinned. "Not my problem, bro. Kai let them into the portal, not me."
“We're actually fucked,” Leehan said with quiet dread, knowing full well that the responsibility of keeping the gates of Mistfall safe rested on his wizardly shoulders.
Soobin, who usually listens attentively to his friends' discussions, was on cloud nine, his curious eyes following a certain group of girls across the cafeteria. He couldn't help it when his gaze landed on you, it was a common occurrence to him anyway, his eyes always landing on your figure. Soobin has taken a few classes with you since you both started university three years ago. You were a PoliSci major as he majored in Photography, therefore the possibility of you and him sharing an elective or two always lingered. The boy wasn't certain what it was about you that made him always perk his ears up upon hearing your name. But anyway, there he was, yet again, looking at you as you laughed along with your friends. Soobin wasn't into you or anything like that, he knew very well where he stood, therefore he would never as much dare to allow himself to think of you as anything other than the prettiest girl he has ever seen. After all, he was just Choi Soobin, a quiet boy with good grades and legs way too long to not be awkward.
You, however, were everything Soobin was not. You were the kind of person who belonged in the cool crowd. Your friends consisted of a group full of millionaire heirs and socialites, owners of luxury cars and hosts of extravagant parties - which, of course, he was never invited to. Daughter of famous musicians, son of the most successful CEO in the country or son of a famous footballer, you name it, your friends draw attention in any room they walk into. Everyone knows them and wants to be associated with them for different reasons.
As he kept staring at the way you attentively listened to Yunjin's story, Soobin couldn't help but over confirm his thoughts about how two people most definitely could belong to entirely different universes.
“Hello? Earth to Soobin!” Beomgyu snapped his fingers in front of Soobin's face. “We’re talking to you, Soobie. Boobie.”
“Oh, sorry, what?” Soobin blinked and shifted his attention from you to his friends, dragging himself back from his daydreams.
“You’re worse than Sunghoon, man. Thought we lost you there.” Heeseung pointed at him dramatically. “I was just asking if you could cover my shift at the shop on Thursday. Kai needs my Genshin collection for his stupid AV club project, and I will not let him get his greasy fingers on my action figures unsupervised.”
“Yeah, sure, I’ll do it,” Soobin said, gulping his yogurt down like it was the last thing keeping him grounded. Beomgyu rolled his eyes at how nice Soobin was to everyone.
“You're too nice for this world Boobie, if I were you I'd be charging him a pack of ramen per hour, maybe having him do my laundry”.
“Laundry sounds nice... But I guess I could use some snacks for the shift,” Soobin mused, eyeing Heeseung, who tossed a melted Snickers bar at him, the chocolate almost liquid due to the high temperatures late this May.
“There, have some choco,” Heeseung said, casually.
“I have a straw somewhere,” Leehan said, laughing as he fumbled for a destroyed plastic straw he had stolen from the canteen. “I use it to spit paper balls at people. Good times.”
“I’m good, thanks, Leehan,” Soobin said, turning back to watch as the last few members of their group entered the cafeteria.
Yeonjun marched over, speed-talking to Sunghoon, who was nodding without much care. Taehyun, still in his football gear, sat next to Soobin, throwing his bag onto the floor dramatically.
“He officially lost it” the midfielder said, dropping his bag at his feet, followed by Hueningkai.
“What happened now? Did his favorite AO3 author forget to update their My Chemical Romance mpreg fanfiction?” Beomgyu asked, earning a round of laughs from everyone except Yeonjun, who was too busy fixing his freshly dyed cherry-red hair.
“How can you joke at a time like this?!” Yeonjun screeched, already spiraling.
“Here we fucking go,” Hueningkai murmured from the sidelines.
“I mean, why does Jay Park have it out for me?! Does he spend every single second of his day plotting ways to ruin my life?!” Yeonjun continued, as if the entire world was conspiring against him. “What does he have that I don’t?!”
“I can name a few things
” Soobin said, casually passing Yeonjun a can of diet coke to calm his nerves.
“Dude’s loaded,” Sunghoon added, eyes narrowed.
“Fuck him and his stupid jawline,” Yeonjun huffed. “What does he do with that stupid side profile, rip guitar strings with it?”
Soobin snorted.
“He’s behind all the bad juju that’s been happening to The Stroker Mucus!” Yeonjun yelled, finally cracking under the weight of his own delusions.
“Are you implying he impregnated Jihoon’s wife just to spite you?” Heeseung teased, and, to everyone's shock, Yeonjun actually seemed to make sense of the statement.
“He could've! It’s so suspicious how Jihoon became a father right when auditions for the summer festival opened!” Yeonjun pointed dramatically, as if he had just solved the greatest conspiracy in history.
“Yeah, okay. You’re delusional,” Leehan remarked, sounding absolutely done.
“I might be delusional but Jay is stupid” Yeonjun finished, audibly gulping on his diet coke.
Yeonjun was one of Soobin's best friends, along with Beomgyu, Heeseung, Hueningkai, Taehyun, Leehan and Sunghoon. He was currently a literature major but it was just a matter of time until he switched again, knowing very well his true passion lies with his band. The Stroker Mucus was his passion ever since he founded the band three years ago as a result from a drunken night at Leehan's basement. Yeonjun was the front man of the emocore band, as Beomgyu played the bass and Hueningkai was on the drums, and a 28 year old guy named Jihoon used to be their guitarist until he had to drop the band because his second wife got pregnant - which everyone, except from Yeonjun, saw coming. After all, they met at the gas station near the intersection of Pomme Avenue and Francis Street, which by common sense was known as the worst gas station in town, so obviously nothing good would have come out of this partnership.
Soobin chuckled quietly, wondering if he was in the most dysfunctional friend group ever. Either way, he was definitely happy to be just Soobin in this chaotic mess. The quiet guy, observing, always finding solace in the weirdest corners of the universe... like when you laugh at something one of your friends said.
"Alright, that was very mature, guys," Kai said, finally stepping in to calm the madness. "Maybe we should hold auditions. There are tons of students at this uni. Someone’s bound to come through."
“And if no one shows up?” Beomgyu asked. “We kidnap Jay, ransom him for money, and hire Slash to play guitar for us?”
“Slash as in the curly haired one?” Taehyun asked, brow raised.
“Is there another Slash?” this time Sunghoon looks confused.
“Yeah, that guy who drives that old Ford Anglia around Papa Johns, he's Slash” Soobin explains.
“That's the Slash we will be hiring?” Hueningkai asked in disbelief.
“No, you moron, I’m talking about the biblically accurate Slash,” Beomgyu cut in, rolling his eyes like he was tired of explaining things.
“We won’t be hiring any Slash, for God’s sake,” Yeonjun groaned, like he was about to break under the weight of his own absurdity.
On the other side of the cafeteria, you and your friends were engaged in a conversation quite different from the one taking place at Soobin’s table. Summer was approaching, and final exams were closer than ever, which meant it was more than time to start making plans for the break. This year, all your friends were incredibly excited because it would be the first time since you started university that everyone would be spending the summer together in the college town you all lived in. No private jets to the Bahamas or first-class flights to Paris with plans for a quick stop in the Greek Islands. No, this year, the group had agreed to stay in town and, at most, take a trip to the beach at Jake’s family house.
"That's why I think it's a good idea to start spreading the word that the party will be on June 1st. We can't risk someone else throwing the first party of the summer," Karina said, like she was plotting the world’s most important heist.
"Well, it's not like anyone would dare anyway. Jay, your parents are leaving on the 30th, right?" Giselle, the pink-haired girl who could make eating a carrot look cool, asked him.
"Yup, early morning flight. Alright, Sunoo, you're in charge of spreading the word". Jay said, clearly assigning the real work to the one person who could actually do it. Sunoo started typing at the speed of light, probably already sending invites to everyone in his contacts.
You chuckled as you watched the whole situation unfold. As an introvert, it was impressive to you how your friends handled the preparations for a party that was still three weeks away like they were in some kind of military operation. You found it funny how important being the first to host a summer party was to them, you could not quite comprehend but you always supported them.
"Thanks, Sunoo. You're a lifesaver," Jay said with a grin. "We're thinking about having, like, a hundred people show up, right?"
"Yep, got it covered," Sunoo replied, still typing furiously.
"Fuck, I'm a bit all over the place, my accounting test is in a week, and I still need to go over the songs we're putting up for the Summer Festival." Jay sighed dramatically, like the fate of the world rested on his band’s setlist for the festival.
“Chill, I'll help Sunoo with spreading the news and just sign us up with All About Words and Dense, it's the bangers dude” Yunjin reminded her bandmate, who rolled his eyes as if they’d had this conversation about twenty times already.
Jay’s band was the most popular on campus, so you believed that no matter what they played, it would be a hit. Even that terrible song Jake insisted was a banger—Turbulence—which no one, no one was brave enough to tell him was a complete trainwreck.
“You guys are a trio” Karina pointed her long nails at Jay and Yunjin “You should wait for Jake's opinion before agreeing to anything”.
As if summoned by the sheer mention of his name, Jake walked over, freshly returned from soccer practice, accompanied by Jungwon, who, as always, looked like he had pushed himself harder than everyone during training.
“My opinion on what?” Jake asked, his eyes landing on you with that casual smile he always had when he wasn’t pretending to be a David Beckham.
“Please, for the love of everything good in the world Jakey, don’t say Turbulence,” you begged dramatically.
“Your opinion on what songs your band should play at the Summer Festival,” Sunoo explained, like it was no big deal.
“Definitely not Turbulence,” Jungwon muttered from the side, earning a snicker from you.
Your friends continued their chaotic debate, laughing over Jake’s precious Turbulence, while you found yourself trying to keep from being dragged into the whirlwind. But then Jungwon, ever the student body president and your best friend, slid into the seat beside you, handing you a strawberry milk along with a small note like it was some kind of diplomatic peace offering.
"What’s this?" you asked suspiciously, raising an eyebrow.
"Strawberry milk, dummy," he laughed as you rolled your eyes, amused by his antics. Receiving strawberry milk from him was something he had been doing for you ever since you became friends.
"The paper!" you clarified, holding up the slip with an address written on it.
“It’s the address of that manga shop Taehyun mentioned last week,” he said, casually as if it were no big deal.
“No way?!" You stared at the address like he had just handed you a treasure map leading to hidden gold.
"For real," he chuckled. "It was such a coincidence, right? I happened to mention to Jake that I was looking for a manga shop near campus, and Taehyun overheard. But hey, I hope you find what you’re looking for!"
You were literally vibrating with excitement. The manga shop. The Jujutsu Kaisen volume you needed.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” you exclaimed, clutching the slip like it was the most valuable thing you’d ever been given. “I should be studying for my econ final, but screw that, I’m going after class! You coming?”
“Nah, can't do it, we're having extra practice, Jake has gone nuts” Jungwon tells you, making sure Jake hears him calling him crazy.
“Tell Riwoo to score more goals and maybe I'll consider giving you all a day off” he scoffed.
“Yes Cap” Jungwon mocks Jake.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂
It was a slow afternoon at the manga shop. The bell above the door had barely jingled all day, leaving Soobin, Beomgyu, and Heeseung to lazily watch the dust settle in the aisles of manga heaven. The summer weather was so hot that the fan across the room could barely do its job. Beomgyu, as always, was entertaining himself by convincing Soobin to participate in an impromptu game of “guess the most absurd manga plotline.” He’d just finished his suggestion: The Adventures of a Samurai Who Also Happens to Be a Pancake. Soobin didn’t even know how to respond to that one.
Heeseung, on the other hand, was deep in a Genshin Impact binge on his phone, which was only interrupted by occasional stares at the piles of manga around him, as though plotting how to restock it in the most logical and “incredibly nerdy” way possible.
The shop was practically empty, save for them. That is, until the door jingled, and Heeseung's head snapped up like a dog hearing a treat bag rustle.
He’d seen her first.
Y/N.
Heeseung blinked, not quite believing his eyes. It was her. Y/N. The Y/N. The one who had practically owned the campus since day one. Not only was she popular—she was untouchable. Her reputation alone walked into rooms before she did.
And yet here she was, stepping into their little manga shop, a world so far removed from her glamorous reality that it felt
wrong. Like a glitch in the matrix.
What is she doing here?
Heeseung wasn’t the kind to make a scene. He sat up straight, pretending to be totally chill, but there was an undeniable twinkle of surprise in his eyes. As casually as possible, he leaned toward Beomgyu, who was pretending to read a manga with absolutely no intention of absorbing any of its content.
“Is that
is that Y/N?” Heeseung whispered, his voice barely louder than the rustling of pages.
Beomgyu, too engrossed in his own self-made chaos, blinked, his head turning in the direction Heeseung was gesturing. It was like he hadn’t processed the reality of it until now.
“Fucking hell that’s her,” Beomgyu muttered, still holding the manga upside down. He wasn’t even trying to hide his shock. "What in the—what’s she doing here?"
Heeseung was already a step ahead, his eyes tracking her as she casually strolled past the aisles. Her eyes flickered over the shelves with the cool detachment of someone who knew exactly where to find what they wanted. But then—there it was—she stopped at the display for Jujutsu Kaisen.
Soobin, who had been quietly observing the whole scene from behind the counter, looked up. He saw Y/N standing right in front of the Jujutsu Kaisen display like it was some kind of shrine, inspecting volumes with the grace of someone who definitely knew what they were doing, and his heart skipped—no, stopped—for a solid 10 seconds. Soobin couldn’t breathe. And then there was the fact that Soobin’s shirt—the one with Gojo's face on it—was probably the most embarrassing thing to wear in front of someone who actually knew the series.
Oh my god.
He thought he was going to faint. Y/N? Y/N, the girl who never even looked at him twice? The girl who was always surrounded by her popular friends? And now, she was here... at his workplace... eyeing the latest volume of Jujutsu Kaisen? Her very presence seemed to make the store a thousand times cooler—which, in Soobin's case, was kind of terrifying.
“Soobin,” Heeseung whispered, his voice dripping with disbelief, “she’s literally right there.”
Beomgyu, still processing, added, “Yeah, I mean, I thought we were dreaming, but
nope, it’s real. She’s standing in front of the Jujutsu Kaisen shelf. Does she
 know about it?”
"How should I know?" Soobin squeaked, feeling like he’d just been hit with a truckload of reality. "She probably thinks Gojo is just a cool character or something..."
“Is she a Jujutsu fan?” Beomgyu asked, tilting his head, clearly bewildered. He didn’t know what to do with this information. The thought of someone so
untouchable like Y/N having any connection to the world of manga seemed impossible.
Heeseung, ever the nerd detective, tried to piece the puzzle together. “I mean, she’s probably just here because it's the most popular series right now
but then again, we have a lot of people who don’t know the first thing about the series and still grab it because of the hype. Maybe she just saw the show? Does she even watch anime?”
Beomgyu, after his own shock has passed, took this as his cue to start a disaster. He leaned over to Soobin, whispering, “I bet you $10 you can’t go talk to her.”
Soobin’s eyes bulged. "What the fuck?! No! Why would I—?"
It didn’t help that Soobin's brain was playing a cruel game of freeze-frame. He stared at her from across the store, mentally trying to figure out whether to approach or just hide under the counter and never come out. Soobin was practically dying of secondhand embarrassment. He had no idea what to say, how to approach the situation, or how to stop feeling like his entire life was flashing before his eyes.
Just then, Y/N turned, her eyes catching his.
For a second, it felt like the universe conspired to make everything painfully awkward. Soobin could barely breathe, his palms getting clammy. She saw me looking. Oh my god, she saw me looking!
But then, instead of making it awkward (which, in Soobin’s mind, was always the likely scenario), Y/N did something completely unexpected.
She walked straight over to the counter, clearly unaware that she had entered Soobin’s personal social nightmare.
Soobin’s heart rate doubled. He didn’t even notice that he was gripping the counter so tightly that his fingers were turning white.
Y/N’s smile was casual, and her voice was calm as she spoke, her tone that soft, confident kind that made everyone stop and listen. “Oh hi, is the new Jujutsu Kaisen volume still in stock?”
Did she really just ask me that?
Soobin blinked, trying to gather his thoughts. He had to answer—he had to. This was his chance, his moment.
He reached for the shelf behind him and grabbed the volume, his hands trembling. He handed it to her with a forced calmness, trying to appear like he wasn’t internally combusting. “Here you go... It just came in this morning.”
Y/N took the manga from his hands with an easy smile, and Soobin was certain his face had just melted off. She didn’t seem weirded out at all. She just seemed
normal. Like this was just another transaction.
“Thanks,” she said, and then—before Soobin could blink—she added, “Soobin, right? We had a class together last semester.”
She knows my name? Soobin’s brain nearly exploded. “Yeah! That’s
 that’s me! From
 um
the Society and Art class. The one about
 uh
”
“Right, the one where everyone fell asleep,” Y/N finished for him, her grin widening. “I remember you had a really cool camera though.”
Soobin could barely breathe. “I, uh
yeah. That was me. I do photography. Sometimes.”
“Nice,” Y/N said, nodding as if she totally understood. She slid the manga into her bag after swapping her card, not in a hurry to leave but clearly still with some level of casual coolness. "I'll see you around, Soobin."
She turned to walk out, leaving Soobin standing behind the counter, completely dumbfounded. Beomgyu and Heeseung were both staring at him like they had witnessed a rare, mythical event.
Heeseung’s voice broke the silence, deadpan: “Soobin
Did that just happen? You just had a solid 10/10 social interaction with Y/N and you didn’t spontaneously combust".
Beomgyu looked at Soobin, still unable to contain his grin. "Bro, you’ve officially made it. You're not just the awkward guy who reads manga in the corner. You're the awkward guy who reads manga in the corner and talked to Y/N. Progress."
Soobin was still holding onto the counter, completely shell-shocked. His hands were still shaking, his heart still racing, but for some reason, his chest felt
 lighter. Like something had shifted.
Still, all Soobin could hear was the echo of Y/N’s words in his mind: “I’ll see you around, Soobin".
And for the first time in forever, he allowed himself to believe that maybe, just maybe, she would.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂
As soon as the door jingled behind her, Y/n exhaled a long, shaky breath. Her hands, still clutching the new Jujutsu Kaisen volume like a lifeline, trembled ever so slightly. She had made it out. She was alive. But—oh god—did she just talk to Soobin?
Okay, Y/n. Calm down. It was just a conversation. You’ve done worse.
The moment she stepped onto the sidewalk, she pulled her hand through her hair, the summer heat sticking to her skin. It was sweltering outside, but all she could think about was the interaction inside. She was still holding onto the manga like it might fly away if she let go.
You’ve gone to parties with friends, been to big social events, but this? This was different. This was
her own decision. A decision to go to a small manga shop on a random Wednesday and buy a manga. Alone.
Y/n bit her lip, walking down the street with hurried steps.
It wasn’t just the place. It was Soobin. He had looked
surprised when she walked in. That much was obvious. He was probably not used to seeing her in a place like that.
She knew she had a reputation. She wasn’t that oblivious. Y/n was popular, yes. But
she wasn’t like them—the loud, outgoing ones who lived for every social interaction. Y/n liked her own company. The thought of meeting someone new, making small talk, stepping out of her comfort zone—it was always a little nerve-wracking. So when she saw Soobin behind the counter, looking all... shy, her own anxiety kicked into overdrive.
But he was nice. She hadn’t expected him to be so normal, so... genuine. And the way he’d been so careful with the manga, how his hands shook a little when he handed it to her—it made him feel real. Not just the guy she saw in the back of the lecture hall or in the hallway between classes, too quiet to stand out. He seemed just as nervous as she felt.
And that smile. When she’d said his name, when she’d mentioned the elective they’d shared, he seemed to light up. Was that
 was that for her?
Am I overthinking this?
She pulled her phone out of her pocket and stared at the screen, but it was just an instinct. Her thumb hovered over the keyboard, like it would make her thoughts go away.
Y/n laughed softly to herself. Yeah, he’s cute. I’m probably just imagining things. I’m probably going to be too awkward to even remember what I said in five minutes anyway.
But then, as she passed a small cafe on the corner of the street, she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the window. And there it was—her cheeks were actually a little pink.
Stop it, she told herself. But a smile crept onto her lips despite the inner voice trying to shut it down.
