And not to turn your sweet message into a rant, but it's such a huge bummer so many people are reposting that drawing (and all my other Miguel things) seemingly everywhere, with not a sliver of credit in sight. I have not experienced this level of reposting before, ever, and it's so incredibly disheartening...

Here's a few off the top of my head cus I would need a 30k fic to go into all of it lmao:

Neil is the child of a human and 'cryptid' and was swept away into the woods and other crevices of the world to avoid being seen. His mother taught him to use Glamours (see twau for an example of that kind of disguise) to hide himself away . He's much older than he cares to talk about, but once slipped up talking to Kevin about being present for the war of the worlds broadcast

He applied for a job at Andrew and Kevin's place of work just to have some spare cash to get by (and because he was terribly lonely being away from civilisation for quite some time). Only found out later that his half joke application landed him in a spot with two cryptid studies enjoyers so joke was on him

Was offered Kevin's spare bedroom after he found out Neil was 'couch surfing' (was actually sleeping in the broom closet of the instituion but that wasn't something he could just tell Kevin)

Neil peeped that Kevin wore a ring and Andrew didn't. Figured by their arguing that they were begrudging colleagues until—due to a slapstick number of perfectly timed conferences and away trips—he woke up to find Andrew making breakfast in Kevin's kitchen.

Due to a vague sarcastic comment on Andrew's part about Kevin's marriage (with his job), Neil also thought Kevin was cheating on a spouse he had yet to meet with Andrew.

This still amuses Andrew greatly

Despite my fic being Very 🔥 it's rather soft how they fold Neil into their lives with stolen sweaters and making Neil feel cozy. (They even have a Christmas at wymacks and adopt a stray cat that may or may not be another cryptid but Neil won't tell)

Kevin struggles not to ask Neil a billion questions in the beginning and Andrew has to settle him down often and reminds him Neil is not a taxidermy creature that can't talk back

Andrew was suspicious of Neil in the beginning but couldn't ping why. Intuition in all aus
