I've been seeing some people question why Junpei of all people appeared in that panel with the others (Gojo, Nanami, Nobara, and Choso), as if he wasn't someone important to Yuuji, someone who impacted him and his perspective on being a jujutsu sorcerer, even in their brief time together.

Hate him if you want but that doesn't take away from the fact that he had a significant impact on Yuuji's development, especially so early on in the story, as an example of someone he couldn't save from being corrupted. Junpei already held contempt for his bullies and other people (adults in particular) who were complacent or ignorant in those behaviors, even towards his own mother, long before Yuuji came into his life.

Yuuji tried to offer him friendship and even salvation (if that's the correct word to use in this context) in the form of him joining Jujutsu High as a student sorcerer with him and his friends. But even that wasn't enough, and Mahito fed into his desire to get revenge on his bullies and everyone who he believed wronged him in his life.

In the end, Yuuji couldn't save him and watched him die, as one of Mahito's victims. Of course that would be something that would leave a significant impact on him, so why are some people dismissing his role in Yuuji's life and development as a sorcerer? Hell, even Mahito knew that seeing the corrupted image of Junpei back in Shibuya would mess him up more than he already was after seeing Nanami die.

Yuuji is an empathetic person, he cares about people and wants to help them out, but that's not always possible. He must have felt really bad that he couldn't offer Junpei a meaningful death, especially as someone who was close in age to him.
