All of your fics are amazing but that hitman! Joel AU is fucking brilliant. I know you probably have a billion things to do in your life and other fics to finish but that one is so unique and it kills me that it’s just a one shot because I’m obsessed with the what-if’s of it. It would be so interesting to see how that plot could potentially line up with the original story like maybe Marlene (or someone else from Ellie’s mom or dad’s life) tells her how her dad was killed or maybe she begins to suspect Joel’s real job so she sneaks out and follows him and it causes their falling out

yeah my current wip list is uhhhhh over 50! 😅 (including all the bthb prompts) BUT the hitman one (and also the bodyguard one) is one that i would really love to come back to at some point, because i feel like i really just scratched the surface of it. so i'll never say never on it! i've thought more about how to flesh out their daily life and stuff but not really how to tackle ellie finding out what joel does/did (man's looking at retirement at this point) and what that would do to their relationship. it's a vastly different thing for joel to be a killer in canonverse than it is outside of it, so ellie's feelings about that would be 😬😬😬😬

I think they had a grip on us cos the marketing was lit; really had all us tweens/teens and young adults thinking if we did not have this tool we were leagues behind. I feel a similar way about Wacom tablets, but those ACTUALLY do suck.

The long and short of it is that copic markers are really best when used for sketching, laying out loose colors for comps and not really final pieces, in my opinion of course. They aren't light fast so if you aren't scanning in your pieces, they are as good as garbage if you plan on displaying or selling originals created with them. They will fade/discolor over time.

I''ve had mixed results over the years, but as a tool used properly, they kinda rock? You own one marker and if you maintain and use it often enough, it pays for itself in the end. I have markers that are nearing a decade old and not yet dried out, while newer purchased ones have dried out in a few months time. Depends on a multitude of factors (how long was it on the shelf, was the cap properly placed on, are there any fine line cracks).

Anyways, no one asked for any of this but that isn't going to stop me. Copics are not that bad, and for the longest time were THEE only refillable marker so that's what happens when you have no competitor, you get overhyped. If they feel awkward and hard to handle it's the learning curve of working with a new medium and not the fault of the tool, but user error.

All this coming from a butthead who has used copics on and off for the past decade. When I go from long stretches of not using them, I feel like I don't know what I'm doing with them and sorta gotta get back into the swing of it.
