“She was an evil fleet lady, of course she loved money!” Das insists. “And this stuff was all I could find in my hive” She adds, sheepishly. 

“That makes sense” Sol nods in agreement. “If it doesn’t work the first time we’ll go dig in the cushions of the BIG couch and see if we can find anything extra” as she settled comfortably. “Now, did you bring-“ a vague hand gesture to indicate what she meant was given.

“Th-thony” Daseos grins, setting down the money object in the center of the circle, the thing they were most sure Twitch had at least something of an emotional connection too. “I told Hanagi I needed him for a science project eheheh. She can’t say no to science.” 

That got a laugh. “Okay yeah that’s fair. Sorry Th-thony, I got some plant food for you as an apology for once this is over, that works for a plant right? Also that wasn’t a TOTAL lie this is kind of a science project, the project is uhm” she paused, trying to figure out how to word it.

“Necromancy” Daseos replies. “Ecology. Whatever” 

“Psychology maybe” she nods, then giggles 

“Definitely psychology!” Daseos laughs. “It’s Twitch.” 

“Alright, I’m ready when you are”

The jadeblood inhales, staring at the pile of assorted items. It was enough- it had to be. Strange that Twitch could have had such a lasting impact on every single one of them, yet when searching for material proof of who she was, what she even wanted, what she stood for- the tangible results are so depressingly meager. Newly determined to do her due diligence as a necromancer following Ailzea’s ask-first model, she looks her friend in the eye. 

“I’m ready,” She says. The tone of the night shifts ever so slightly, the girls taking on a somber air as the blinds moved just a bit in the wind. 

Soliel nodded in solemn understanding, then closed her eyes and took a deep breath, putting her hands flat on the ground in front of her. Breath in, breath out, the room seems to fall colder. In, out, the very shadows start to shift and twist around her. In, out, the glow from her horns fades, but then she opens her eyes and the glow from them more than makes up for it. The uncovered one glows red, and purple light seeps out from under the eyepatch over the other. 

A thin pink line dances above Th-thony’s steam like a seam, slipping in and out of existence like a trail of smoke. Daseos watches it with wary trepidation and anticipation, glancing back and forth from Soliel to the plant. 

When the rust speaks, there’s an almost musical quality to it. “We want to speak to you, so please come forth.”

The pine line sparks suddenly, as if lashing out in a burst of emotion. And suddenly, the specter is there, flicking in the moonlight, seeming more star than girl in many ways, her tangible form volatile, but her mouth seems to find the grace to form words, the first thing to fall from her mouth is predictably bitter

“Ha Ha” The ghost of Twitch Monark says, staring down Daseos as if Soliel were not even there. “Why would you wanna talk to me?” She says. 

This seems to stump Daseos temporarily. She seems caught up in seeing the woman face to face for the first time since she had arrested Mondes outside that motel, trenches of old hurt she thought were long buried digging their way to the surface. 

“Because” she stumbles. “Can we bring you back to life?” 

“What?” She replies. 

“What?” Daseos says. 

“We want to bring you back to life!” Soliel says. “Is that okay?” 

“Okay?” Twitch says, looking through the pile of offerings. “First of all- not a thing you can do. Death is famously permanent” she mansplains. “Second, why would you do that?” 

“Me and my family have discussed it,” Daseos says solemnly. “And we want to give you another chance.” 

“Well now I KNOW you’re lying” Twitch replies. 

“I’m not!” Daseos insists. 

“The Cheongs aren’t idiots,” she says. 

“Yes they are!” The kid retorts. “I mean! No they’re not!” She corrects, tripping over her words. 

Soliel had to choke back laughter at that, clearing her throat instead.

“Exactly. So even if necromancy was real- big IF- they wouldn’t use it on me.” She says. 

“M’am I am literally sitting here glowing and talking to you after dragging you as a ghost to here. Can you not act like necromancy is nothing because like- it’s happening, right now.” Soliel argues.

“Oh I’m ALIVE right now?” Twitch retorts. Poking a hand through her body, turning into a burst of light and back again. “This is how my alive body works?” 

“Necromancy has different levels OBVIOUSLY jeez I thought you were supposed to be the fancy smart one.” The six sweep old roasts. 

“I shoulda brought Marsie” Daseos muses. 

“You what?” Twitch stutters. 

“I brought Marsie back to like” She subtlety brags. “I coulda brought him here to show you.” 

“Your story grows more ludicrous by the second” Twitch hisses. 

“Have you seen him around the afterlife?” The teenager says. 

The ghost stares at her, beaten. “Well- no” She says. “Could be unrelated” She mumbles. “Maybe he’s avoiding me. Besides! That’s obviously what you’d say if you were attempting to endear yourself to me” She accuses. 

Daseos takes a moment to grab her phone, looking through her photos for an age. Before flipping it over and showing a photo of her and Marsie taken a couple weeks ago. 

The seadweller stares at it. Dumbfounded. She inhales. 

“Could be doctored,” She says. 

“Are you kidding me?” Daseos hisses. 

“None of this makes sense” The violetblood complains, “And nobody wants me back alive! She says, throwing up her hands and storming off. 

Soliel clears her throat, and simply summons her again, the ghost appearing again in the circle. She glares at them. 

“Why wouldn’t they want you back alive?” Soliel asks. 

“A hundred billion reasons.” She replies. 

“Hanagi misses you,” Daseos says quietly. 

The woman inhales, pained. “Hanagi maybe. Maybe once in a blue moon Hanagi misses me but the rest of them? You can’t expect me to believe that.” 

“Have you considered that maybe, just maybe, people would be willing to believe you are able to change? That Hanagi’s opinions may have affected others?” She speaks softly now, the rust does, unsure if it’s really her place to speak.

“Sure. Hanagi just walked up to the rest of them and said let's resurrect Monark and they were like "you know what, sure”” She rambles, sarcastically. “They totally just forgot about all the attempted murder I did. They just listen to whatever Hanagi says.” 

“You’re such a child” Daseos says, in a disquieted awe of the woman’s immaturity, which even she, the six sweep old, can parse. “Let’s say they did-” 

“They didn’t” She retorts. 

“Let’s say they did,” Daseos insists. “Wouldn’t you want to do right by them?” She says. “If Hanagi fought them on it- on your behalf” 

The ghost pauses, flickering again as she is overcome with emotion. 

“Necromancy isn’t real,” She says. 

“Uuuuuugh do you want me to send a taxi for Marsie?” Soliel says, exasperated. 

“Will you ANSWER THE QUESTION” Daseos says, fed up. “If none of this is real- it doesn’t matter. But if it WERE. play pretend. Do you want to live?” 

The ghost flickers so much she nearly vanishes into that unknowable either. Lost and faint as she was when she was alive. This hollowed out trace of a person. Her form falls apart, until it's not even clear it’s a troll anymore. Just shapes and colors, pinks and purples, the nebula thrashes, caught in some silent violence. The air rustles through Th-thony’s leaves. 

“Okay, I’ll play pretend” Monark says, voice quiet and wavering with no discernible source. 

“I want to live,” She says. And Daseos shoulders ease. Her eyes close, in a silent, raw relief. 

“Okay” She says. “Thank you” she says, not knowing what she was saying it for. “I’ll see you soon” The child promises. 

A pink hand snakes out of the void, grabbing the five dollar bill from the tiny altar. 

“I’m keeping this” She says, dragging it to whatever ghost realm, and then she’s gone. 

Soliel waits until she is fully sure the spirit is gone before cutting the connection off, the glow within the room fading and the shadows settling unnoticed back to their usual positions. “Well. I think that went well.”

“Yeah” Daseos says, dazed. “I guess that could have gone worse”

Soooo yall I know promised the holiday fics but either a) they’re just going to be put out later or b) we might need to wait till next year… end of the semester was crazyyyy for me honestly. Thanksgiving break I did a bit of traveling, when I got back I had 3 papers and 3 exams to get done all in about 2 weeks— I’m done luckily, we’re through all the stress but now I’m on vacation and won’t be back home till Christmas so… 😬

The chances of me getting things done while I’m here is pretty slim, we’re pretty booked so I really won’t have too much time to write unfortunately… I might be able to do the Tae one I had planned because that one is short and even though it’ll be a little late, I might be able to get it out and done! I had started Jimin and Jk’s fics but they’re a bit longer and def won’t get it done before Christmas butttt maybe a delayed January post… maybe? I won’t make any promises because I’ve been so stressed basically since November and I don’t want to overdo it before the next semester starts and I have work all over again. I’ll write what I can but again like I promised things are planned and nearly ready for next year if all else fails. Pecattiphilia will be returning soon, my first part of my Jk series will certainly be posted sometime next year, working on the last two parts before I am ready to post— plus I’ll finally get back to all those unfinished oneshots I have sitting in my drafts still. 2024 I’ll be back hopefully more than ever!

Also been really sad since Tae, Joon, Jk, and Jimin all left— been an army since 2017 and I’m so used to having them in my life. Flip flopping between 2025 will be here before we know it and just dread cause it’s only been a few days and I’m this close to loosing it. It’s actually crazy, even though I didn’t start posting on tumblr till 2020 I think I’ve been working on BTS fics since the year I became a fan. That work is on wattpad and if you ever want a good laugh you can check out ‘If…’ major cringe but also a bit of a tease for my major project *hint hint cause I feel bad* A better version of it will be out hopefully soon here on tumblr! Anyway, that was to say that BTS have seriously been a major part of my life and I feel lost knowing that we have to move the next 18 months without them, many of yall probably feel the same way. I will do my best next year along with Seokjin and Hobi at filling the void a little until our ot7 returns better than ever. Miss my babies lots and ughhhh can’t wait for 2025!

Initial Impression: Positive reaction + Cha Woongki is in it

Overall Impression: It was cute, the concept was nice, the early 2 eps were Very promising and last ep was touching but the middle (esp 5-6) was quite meh for me. There was also a bunch of confusing stuff, esp in the second half, but I guess I won't try to investigate too much. It has people really talking and discussing and dissecting it though, which is a fun aspect.

Rewatch Impression: It's alright. I think I enjoyed the middle bit a bit more this time around but I'm still not super attached to the characters and this time, I got really bored by the last quarter even though it's supposed to be really quite emotional. The rating stays the same.

Initial Impression: Ahh, the tiktok clips I saw of eps 1 - 2 drove me a bit crazy, I loveee boyish, cute tops and then learned that apparently this is the A/B/O drama? but they’re both alphas (or rather - spoiler from tiktok comments - that Charlie’s an enigma?). and also seems like Charlie’s some sort of spy who will betray Babe? Man I kinda wanna just start watching it lol but it doesn’t end till Feb 9 next year smh give me 2 eps a week smh Anyway idk I feel like it has a lot of tropes I like, so maybe... if they can pull it off... I’d be thankful

Overall Impression: This show had everything: non-traditional alpha/alpha relationship, racecar competitions, x-men like superpowers, child trafficking, pseudo-incest if you think about it (from Kenta's side at least) and more. And it didn't have a super strong script, there were nonsensical elements and plot holes that didn't get addressed and things that happened to just move the plot along, but it was a fun watch nonetheless, both for the novelty and the entertainment factor. Babe was a very compelling character with his past and how he behaves in the present and his relationships with Tony/Way/people in general. Also helped that Pavel did a really good job with him and acted his ass off, there were quite a few emotional moments in there. I agree with some people's comments that I wish Charlie's actor Pooh as a better actor. And his character wasn't as developed or with depth as the other ones either, like in terms of emotions I guess. Although I really liked Charlie/Babe, my true ship winners might be Pete/Kenta in a Not Me ToddBlack fashion, to be honest, with Kenta as maybe my favourite character (2nd is Babe). They gave us like 2 tiny hints that they might know each other and waited until literally last 10 mins of episode 11 out of 13 to lay out their history. They have an interesting friends (-> brothers/crush) -> enemies -> allies again at the very end dynamic where I think that they could become lovers post-canon. Really had me writing a fic idea in my notes app after my few months of no drive to write.

Initial Impression: Another Idol Factory offering and this time more plot-based. It seemed to have REALLY good reception || The finale still isn't properly available yet so I don't really know how people will feel about the end but oh well, I'm gonna end up watching it either way because of how much people have been loving it

Overall Impression: I think I liked the first few eps and the potential of the series and the possibilities than I liked the actual series oof. Since everybody freaking loved this, I also had high expectations. I thought there would be more focus on the romance and fantasy and past lives aspect and less on the cop activity. I feel like they didn't choose the correct things to show on screen. I think most of the fight scenes and stuff were confusing and not choreographed very well, and some moments needed to have more time dedicated to them or have more gravitas to them. However, some moments were just shot/directed so beautifully. I enjoyed the parallels between Tharn and Phaya or their current life and past life. It shows the cyclical nature of Phaya and Tharn's lives, and it would've been even more impactful if we saw more of their past lives (their OG life or other reincarnations). Highly doubt I'm gonna think of the characters again, I somehow stopped being attached to them about halfway through - probably related to the fact that I liked the first few eps (half?) of the show better. They tried so many things, but I don't think they satisfyingly merged them or chose the correct things to focus on on-screen.

Initial Impression: It was getting generally good buzz, so I was curious but this Tumblr post talking about the Thai BL landscape recently and saying CM might be better than the original made me seriously consider watching it. I think I’m also more receptive to Thai shows with this sort of storyline/dynamic more than Japanese shows, so hopefully I’ll actually like the series this time.

Overall: I’m glad that I ended up liking this adaptation better than the Japanese Cherry Magic live-action which was meh to me. Karan and Achi were cute and endearing (and felt more human/real to me than Kurosawa and Adachi I think?). i’m so charmed by Jinta and Min actually, a vast improvement from the japanese version’s equivalent. I liked getting my little taste of celeb/non-celeb dating and typical idol show problems from them too. On the other hand, I didn’t care about Pai and Rock ship whatsoever, though they were okay as standalone characters. I enjoyed the adaptation and how it had the Japanese touches (the company try work for specifically) while also introducing Thai elements (religion, festivals, dialects). Great improvement on the kissing department and I’m glad they also squeezed the wedding in there.

Initial Impression: Be On Cloud production with actors who I'm not super keen on (Ta followed Andrew Tate on Twitter when I last checked…) but it's like a slasher, so I'd be curious to check it out. <- added to Considering when the first ep or 2 were out || 240229 - Added to Watchlist: I’ve been meaning to watch this since like ep 1 came out and I learned it was supposed to be horror-esque/slasher and seems like people have been loving it even more these past few eps. I’m actually so excited to check it out, I hope I love it and it rots my brain.

Overall Impression: I think this show landed the ending which is very satisfying. I was afraid that's where this show was leading because of certain choices in writing in eps 10 and 11 and that maybe they were gonna go for a kinda-happy ending to make it a BL but I really enjoyed it. Also interesting that there were so many predictions but despite them not being true, the finale still managed to be coherent based on what the first 11 episodes had set up for us while still surprising me. I enjoyed the first 4 eps and last few episodes more because it was more about the actual thriller/horror aspects whereas the middle 3 - 4 episodes were just so difficult to get through due to the bullying and police and Non getting dragged in more and more D: It had some good moments like Phee and Non's relationship etc but in general, just sad. I kept wanting it to move on to when Phee (and New) come up with the plan or to just go back to the cabin and the horrors. I think some characters were done really well while others were not, like they are all flawed and varying degrees of terrible but I have some that really compelled me (Tan, Tee, Fluke - liked these 3 enough to write so many words about them in another Tumblr post) vs those who fell flat for me and the main characters (Phee, Jin) kinda fell into that.I'm glad something like this exists in BL (though there wasn't much real romance in it lol). It also made me write so many words and posts on here, really gives you the itch to Discuss because of the different threads and characters and motivations and secrets.

Overall: Nobody in this drama asks before kissing lol not Doyoon, not Seheon, not the little kiss that Seheon's brother gave to sleeping Taejoon, and the other two, Juha and Taeyi, are experts in being creeps and having internalized homophobia that they direct outwardly to the guys they like as well (Seheon's brother fits here too lol). Yet, I enjoyed it a fair amount, the story was coherent (lots of open strands at the end though...), the acting was fine, I was endeared by Doyoon (is he the Omega X kid?), and the dynamics were enjoyable, if iffy on certain counts. Not super attached though.

Initial: Only season 1 is out for now and apparently it ends on a cliffhanger, so idk if I should be adding it to the watchlist quite yet but I want age gap GL (w dubious morality? idk what the discourse is about tbh), so I’ll add it and hope S2 is released in May as expected and turns out well. Also might watch/rewatch with Phoebe Rise's better subs, esp S1.

Overall: A dramatic, intense, first half of an age gap GL and though the plot is ridiculous sometimes (mother, father, and daughter all in love with Khun Nueng at different points in life), I was invested. The acting was good, the storyline was good, I'm into the age gap and honestly expected it to be a little worse based on how people were talking about it lol. I loved getting to see Nueng play a character which I'm more accustomed to seeing in male love interests (or at least in the YA fantasy I used to read as a teen lol): she's callous, she's closed-off, she doesn't show her emotions/weaknesses and will be publicly cruel while having a heart-of-gold and breaking down in private. I'm looking forward to the next part. Also, I'd totally forgotten about the subs link whelp, I understood what was going on nearly all of the time despite the meh subs, so it's fine.

Initial Thoughts: I’d been keeping an eye on it since it started releasing and it got pretty high praise all throughout. I think I can get into the we’re-not-biological-brothers-but-we-grew-up-together-as-brothers dynamic

Overall: I'm so glad I got over my pseudo-incest brother-lover aversion because I can now watch this stuff in delight. Though I must say, my favourite aspect of this show is the little family trio with Qian, Yuan, and Lili, with San Pang occasionally invited as well. I loved how they cared for each other and how though Lili was left out of the romantic duo inside their trio, it didn't feel like she was forgotten or sidelined. The romance itself, I think the development was nice, especially from Yuan's side since we saw how he thought of Qian and how he supported him and we also saw a bit of from Qian's when when Yuan was gone + when he returned. Since there was so much angst and build-up for like 10 episodes, their actual coming together should have been grander. Feels like their relationship actually switching to lovers wasn't treated with enough gravitas and seemed a bit too much too fast and they didn't seem to emotionally struggle with the switch at all, though I would've expected a bit from Qian. Lastly, Qian is so beautiful, like incredibly attractive to me, woah.

Initial Impression: We've been waiting on this for so long, the last one from the GMMTV 2023 batch that I'd been looking forward to. Hope it lives up to the hype.

Overall: GMMTV's first GL and MilkLove's first full GL; I was super excited, especially after having watched MilkLove in Bad Buddy and the Magic of Zero special, which is why I started watching this on-air (thought I'd start it even earlier than ep 8 but didn't because of exams). So it's a shame that I feel so... nothing about the show, especially the main couple; I think Aylin/Luna is my fave ship in here. I think I also just wasn't much in the mood for a silly high school romance series right now, which isn't the show's fault but contributed to why I didn't feel the pull to continue watching the show. When I did watch it, it could get pretty cute though, I giggled/gushed a few times, especially about Luna and Aylin. The teachers' storyline was cute too, though barely there. Aylin was the MVP for sure.

Overall: Got spoiled about the sad ending and what happens, so I prepared myself for that but it was still like you did all this on the first week of pride?! jail!! It did make me look forward to 4 minutes more though, after seeing Bible acting after SO LONG + seeing the natural interactions and chemistry between Bible and Jes. It was also a bit interesting/new to see Bible acting as just a regular guy who has a crush on somebody else rather than Vegas in flashy clothes committing crimes. I would've rated it higher if I felt anything for the characters tbh but I think I knew too much to get involved and also was like man... to both of the characters.

The synopsis seemed confusing, so I wasn't super interested at first, but seems like it's about somebody dying and the mother resurrecting him only he came back Wrong (because the wrong person came back in the body)? sounds cool

Overall: How does Ming live knowing he never faced Joe's original body while having sex?! A permanent body switch should have more despair, Joe is just stuck in this random guy's body forever while his own body was cremated... horrific omg. I knew going into the show that Ming is supposedly a terrible person who treats Joe shittily and Joe keeps going back to it and I think that preparation helped me really enjoy the show. The show redeems Ming by the end but it doesn't necessarily pretend that Ming actually treated Joe well back then, Ming's shittiness was the point. It's a fun show and I was excited to see Ming realize how much Joe truly meant to him rather than his crush on Tong (also, fuck Tong's attempted redemption!). I found Ming and Joe so cute together man, like when the times were good, they were soooooo good. Overall, a good show, definitely one of the better BLs this year and one where I wasn't disappointed compared to the hype.

Overall: I was so excited for this based on how people were talking about the first 4 or so episodes, which I also thoroughly enjoyed once I started watching. But in the middle it felt character motivations and actions were inconsistent and I was confused about certain narrative choices (the kiss...) and so didn't really feel the urge to keep up week to week after ep 8. I was gonna binge eps 9 - 12 at once but I realized that I actually do not care because most things I've read about those few episodes made me dread watching it and I don't think I'd enjoy it. Initial Impression: Watching this could be cool with 2 episodes a week, so the wait won't be as long until next episode and we'll get double the length per week. It hasn't been released yet, so I'm Very Tentatively putting this on the watchlist because idk why I like seeing DaouOffroad clips/pics on my twitter these days even though I haven't even watched Love In Translation smh. The trope of loml-reincarnated-into-a-man D: is doesn't specifically call to me but I'm not opposed to it at all. honestly I could get into it if done well or done toxic in a delicious way because I don't remember First Love, Again at alllll. anyway, we'll see with this one. || Okay, people seem to loveee it so far (5/6 eps out) and I've also grown more and more curious, so this one seems to be the next one, hoot

Overall: I think this show had a strong first half but the last two episodes were irritating and kind of forgot what the show was about in the first place. I enjoyed the 120-something year old San and his little family that spans generations, I like San's grumpy nature contrasted with Vee's bright demeanor, I liked the question of whether Vee is the real Wad reincarnation, I liked their romance and the tinge of sexiness, I liked San being cold to the idea of even doing anything with Vee but progressing to fall in love and ultimately choosing Vee regardless of whether he's the reincarnation or not. loved Juu! She was sooo cute and gorgeous and the acting was good, I want to see her more. But then for the last 3 episodes, we spent too much time with the flat, one-note villains with ridiculous fight scenes, hiding (ridiculous!!!) the stone situation from Vee and SanVee being separated and not on the same page instead of tackling this together, and no answers to one of the main aspects of the show (is Vee the Khun Wad reincarnation?) - just lipservice of "let the past be the past" as an afterthought. The premise and set-up of the show were good but it just fell flat at the end.

Initial Impression: I was going to watch the sex scenes even if nothing else because of all the woof/dog/puppy things that was going on with Fort's character but now that I've got a week of iQiyi VIP, why not.

Overall: A fine enough show, I think the dynamic and characters were interesting and the show/relationships threads were good for the main couple, especially the class difference rich/poor conversations and how their dynamic evolved. Thank you forever for all the puppy/dog Mut. Unlike most people who were so over the side-GL, I was actually quite into Vie/Mook (esp because they have some tropes I enjoy, such as celeb/non-celeb and one person makes their crush do chores/errands) and kept hoping for... something to happen, for their dynamic to progress. They didn't get a proper ending, which is sad. Vie was also such a good friend to Rak, I don't know why she was such a terror with Mook and then never progressed past it. Loved Meena, what a cutie. I do agree with the general consensus that the island episodes were better.

Initial Impression: one of my most highly anticipated. i'd kept an eye on it since it was announced but kinda lost interest after all the controversy surrounding Build. but now that there's a new actor + I've liked Sammon's work in Triage and Dead Friend Forever - DFF + excited to see how Bible does in a new role, I'm highly anticipating it again.

Overall: It's a shame that the last episode was not very good and it didn't tie up things well or do anything meaningful with the 7 episodes that came before it because I quite enjoyed 7/8 eps of the show and enjoyed both the Great nad the Tonkla portions of the story. I enjoyed the characters (and how terrible they were) and what I thought was going on. It was a good Friday watch + I liked it even more when I binge rewatched eps 1 - 6 and was anticipating the show more. And yet, it feels like they didn't explore the themes and potential of the storylines enough, especially the whole 4 minutes thing. It's fine, I don't hate the show and really liked most of the show but it feels like the last ep took the wind out of it.

This show is such an interesting case because on Reddit and on Tumblr, everybody seems to love it and MDL has some mixed comments but mostly positive there too, and yet the MDL rating is 7.5, I wonder why the discrepancy.

Jack and Joker: Yinwar new show ahhhh!!!!! and seems like a kinda plotty one as well. Need to watch the 12 minute trailer though lol || So fun!!!!! I like that it's 11 minutes of establishing characters and rising action (+ some history) but it doesn't show the resolution and conclusion the way pilot trailers tend to do, the mystery builds up the anticipation. The fight choreo looked good maybe? I'm not an expert in that at all but it seemed better than most of the other Thai BLs. I really hope the screenwriting makes sense and is logical and not non-sensical because pretty much all the plotty/crime BLs require a lot of suspension of belief. I've been looking forward to this since the initial liveshow trailer and now am anticipating this even more, on the edge of my seat!

Overall Impression: Firstly, fuck the message of the show. In shows like this, where they treat suicide as a personal, moral failure of selfishness and weakness rather than due to systematic issues in society, mental health struggles, or treating the characters with kindness, it's of utmost importance to just roll your eyes and see the story/acting/etc. Eps 1 to half of 3 were interesting and exciting but in the way of "I'm watching a show with murder and gore and people trying to outsmart each other" rather than about this specific show. The ending is... okay, I guess, expected it. In Part 1, Death just left something to be desired for me and this kinda continued here. Don't think I'll think of this show much (except maybe Lee Dohyun?) and the 2nd part didn't have the excellent pacing of the first one. Not as good as part 1.

Initial Impression: I saw it on the Certified Noonas coming up in January I think? But I also saw it getting good impressions on the r/kdrama on-air threads + pocha playlist's initial impression + it has Lee Dong Wook, even though it's not like I watch all his shows or anything

Overall: Interesting premise + interesting execution with all the flashbacks, they way the flashbacks were in Jian's POV, then Jeongmin for 1 ep, then Jinman (we did have some repetition during Jinman's that we already saw through Jian's). The flashbacks cutting through the current action were sometimes bothersome, especially after we'd already established important stuff and then the flashback stuff didn't feel as important as the current. I found Jinman intriguing and mysterious and understood him despite being frustrated with how he treated Jian at times. Jian, I liked way more at the beginning but then started being annoyed toward the end at times. Mihye was soooo cool. It was a surprisingly funny show, especially in regard to how this is just a job for these mercenaries and killers lol The ending was a bit anticlimactic in terms of how things were resolved + there was a bunch of important threads that were unfinished (aiming for a season 2?). I wasn't surprised by the ending but I don't know if they were aiming for that anyway, I think they knew the audience to predict it and were okay with it.

Initial Impression: Been waiting for this since literally 2023 after I watched Strangers From Hell and saw in Certified Noonas' 2023 releases that it was from the same director + is an interesting concept [Kdramas mentioned in Certified Noonas 2023 Releases: Murder DIEary (the synopsis is cool and the director is the same as Strangers From Hell but I’m looking at the MDL again and 2024? D: why so far but someone on comments has also been saying that the filming ended recently - Mar 25, 2023 - and it can still come out this year). 2024: Rolled over from 2023 and now it's called A Killer Paradox]

Overall Impression: Really enjoyed the first few episodes (up to ep 4), then eps 5 - 7 were kinda meandering and it felt like not much was happening (that I cared about anyway), then ep 8 was engaging again. In the second half, we focused a lot on Song Chon and his story to me wasn't as engaging as Lee Tang's and we also strayed away from Lee Tang and his thoughts. I liked the fun shots and the imagination scenes, it was interesting. I feel like the show didn't have many twists and turns, like it was all a bit anti-climactic, which dampened it. Had high hopes because of the concept + Strangers From Hell director but that show was a lot more atmospheric and insular and the character focuses were more engaging. Don’t think I’ll ever think about it.

Initial: I want to watch this in the theatres since it's showing around me! I hope it runs longer than just this week though hmm. It'd sure be something if I ended up watching this before ITSAY lol I can't believe I'd had that on my to-watch/curious list since like 2019 or whenever it came out and I heard some small buzz about it even though I wasn't in the show/movie sphere at all. The trailer was on my to-watch along with 3 Will Be Free lol.

Overall: A Thai movie in theatres near me + includes Billikin & Tu who I know despite not having watched either of their shows + heart-wrenching family stuff, of course I was into watching it. It was great, the quality is incredible compared to most of the Thai shows I watch. The characters felt so real, the acting was great, even the set design was incredible like the houses and everything felt so lived in - I noticed dust on the sill of the cupboard and stuff, it was crafted so well. I shed a tear as it was nearing the end and I thought that would be it but for the last 10 minutes of so, tears just kept falling. Very good.

Initial: Got curious on 240409, I saw this edit and initial good reaction to Eps 1-2. Heard good things all throughout the run of the show and good reception to the ending as well, so I'm excited.

Overall: A fun show with a fun concept and great acting + romance. It was funny and delightful most of the time, there was a kind of killer/suspense aspect but that wasn't really ever the Focus, Sunjae being killed was the focus; similarly, they didn't thoroughly explain the time travel because the mechanics wasn't the focus, Sol going back was the focus. I liked Sunjae and Sol together and it was fun seeing how Sunjae was slightly different in the different timelines lol I liked seeing the couple on high school, college, as idol!Sunjae and actor!Sunjae. It did feel a bit like consistency was lost in their relationship but that was the point i guess. It was a very romantic concept, the way they were falling in love in every timeline. Everything about it was good and I was engaged, I just don’t think I’d think about it much though.

Hey Sassie,

One of my favorite things to read in Top Gun fanfiction is about the relationship between Iceman and Bradley. Like nothing makes a story pop and become an instant hit to me like the close familial father and son relationship between those two characters. Idk why but they are just so close to my heart, and “I’ll Ride in this life with you” just hits the mark every single time I read it. I am so obsessed that I can’t help but reread it over and over again for those scenes between baby Bradley and Tom along with the scenes where Bradley, Mav, and Ice are together as well. More than that one of favorite things to read is about how Mav or Ice sees pieces of each other in Bradley. For example, in Chapter 5, when Pete is late to picking up Bradley from daycare, Bradley goes and “ with theatrical flair he flung his naked wrist out and looked down at it as if checking the time in a move so similar to how Ice did it Pete nearly tripped over his own feet.” Another example is from the most recent chapter, where Pete notices that Bradley “ had picked up a lot of Tom’s facial expressions.” Just reading both of those sentences and other like them made me so happy because I just love that concept of your kids being their own person but also picking up different traits and idiosyncrasies from their parents. From there, it gets even better when other people recognize those behaviors and who the child picked it up from. For example, in other stories people often write about who Bradley’s flying style takes after the most between Ice and Maverick.

Anyways, sorry for word vomiting all over your page but I did another reread this morning and was just filled with so many feelings. I hope you are doing well and that work is treating you to roughly. Take care of yourself and can’t wait for the next chapter whenever that will arrive. There’s no need to rush though, as I’ve got all 17 chapters to tide me over till then. 😁

Instead of working on anything else or even writing the story, I spent most of the day again just working on the clan allegiances for my warrior cats/marvel AU. It's fun and feels like I'm getting something done, and it is good to know what characters are where, even minor characters to the actual story, bc I need to be able to refer to other cats not just the main ones. But it also feels like a waste of time. and I got to rewrite them multiple times to be as neat and organized as possible which is part of the fun but not necessarily necessary, you know? So part of that is going wait holdup it's 3pm and I've done Nothing else with my day besides helping change some stuff back to non-passover dishes, took out the garbage, and fed the cat (which I did late!).

Like... I might want to do laundry? Or go sit outside and enjoy the warm weather? Or watch the video on transferring indoor seedlings to outdoors and then use the containers I bought ages ago to start that process? Or work on the last 2 linearts for steph's book and maybe start doing the colors? Or work on some other art like a painting? Or try my hand at mermay this year?

But no... i did the allegiances and now it's 3pm and that means I get like 2 hours to do anything else with my day before we have to start planning dinner. And there's too many things I could/should/need/want to do and I don't Want to pick just one. None of them feel like the right choice. Or they'll be too complicated/fussy to setup like for digital art I have to move the whole laptop+tablet setup to the table and futz with all the cords and the easel thing I put the tablet on. Plus if I work on that I won't do Anything Else I won't be able to pause or take a break or I'll take a break and never go back to it. And I'll have to move it all off the table tomorrow or Friday for friday night dinner. And I probably should do laundry but idk if ma has anything she wants to add to whatever load I'll do and she and dad are at the doctor right now and I can't wait and do nothing till they get back but if I start anything without starting laundry first I won't remember to do the laundry/won't want to stop what I'm working on to do it.

Remembered another thing to do which is reply to messages on etsy and make more of some stickers and put things back on stock that have sold out. It should really alert you when stuff goes oos if it's one item in a listing of multiple items, imo. Need to do but also complicated and need the laptop for it which means moving it with the tablet anyway too, and then maneuvering the tablet to be out of the way, bc I don't want to have to unplug it. What I need is an office with a desktop computer, or this laptop set up as one, with the tablet stationed next to that where it can stay permanently, and then a smaller laptop or this one I guess to use for non-specifically-art stuff that I can sit wherever with it. But that's not achievable right now despite having the extra room, bc idk how to make the space work. There's a lot of stuff in there, and I want everything in one place but I also like to work at the table sometimes too, and I have some art stuff in my room and idk if it should stay there or what, and idk what I need the desk in my room for when I don't use it and dont want to for the most part. I like my room to be for displaying my collections, for keeping my books in my bookcase, for clothing obvs, and for sleeping/relaxing in bed. And for some storage I guess. Idefk. Would I even use the office if I made the other room into one? I want to set up 2 desks into an L shaped one facing the door to the bedroom, I want better lighting, I want a space for my easel/for painting, and storage for artwork and supplies, and a place for etsy related stuff, and I also have craft stuff, and bookbinding stuff, and my b+w laser printer for fanbook printing......... anyway I can't do anything about it right now, I would need like a full day just to try tackling that, possibly a few days. Let alone touching on the mess that is my room at the moment, or the crawl space situation which is a mess...

I also need to take some books out of the new bookcase and put in the last (moveable) shelf. Dad gave it to me ages ago and idk if I can find the right pegs for the shelf anymore oops. I didn't do it then bc I'd put my books in it temporarily. Idk there's just So Much and some of it is entangled in or complicated by something else that needs to be done and it's frustrating.

5 - Fic idea I've had that I'd never do?

I don't know if I'd say definitively never persay, but the GX/Avatar au idea. I love the idea but being far more of a GX expert than I am an Avatar expert, it's intimidating to think about. I also just don't think I could really do it justice ultimately.

Also the Big Time Movie GX crack au I came up with after watching the movie again the other week? Yeah, never gonna happen. Unlike the Mario crossover that really was a joke that will remain only a joke.

And cutting really deep into deep aberooski lore that literallyno one but me knows about, there's this idea that I came up with many years ago, a GX Noire type idea. Basically it would've been Alexis going around as a detective trying to solve the mystery of Atticus's disappearance in the context of like a crime drama. She's not supposed to be working the case because she's too close but of course she goes behind everyone's backs and works it anyway and Jaden's her bumbling partner, Crowler's the DA, Sheppard runs the agency, you know all that kinda stuff. But I really don't think I'll ever end up doing it at this point after all these years.

I always run straight to dialog whenever I run into these kinds of questions, so I'm gonna not use dialog to answer this one, so let's go with my favorite line of narration/prose/whatever you wanna call the non-dialog 😌

One I always come back to is in chapter 4 of OUAD ~ 'They were complex beings, but simple people.'

But as difficult emotionally as that fic is for me to go back to most of the time, one that's really stuck out to me comes from so take hold of me, and hang on 'till the hurt is gone.

'Maybe then the ghosts holding him up against that wall would pass on.'

23 - How do I choose when to end a chapter?

Okay yeah, this one's interesting because it really depends.

I'll decide what points I want to cover in a chapter, the point A to point B if you will, and go from there. But when I'm writing, I try to keep my chapters between 5 and 6k but I try to stay closer to 5, I don't like my chapters to run too long unless it's like a really important chapter then I'll let them go as long as they need to. But when a chapter is getting close to that, I can usually feel that it's getting to that length and I'll decide how to round things out. Sometimes everything works out perfectly and I get everything in the chapter I meant to, sometimes I decide it would work better or the story would be structured or flow better if I pushed a scene or something forward into the next chapter or back into the previous one.

It really depends on what's happening in a chapter, the pacing, and the general feel for me. I don't like chapters to feel too busy or too empty or too long or short, and I just try to keep an eye on the structure and flow of the story. It really is a very fluid process that I've developed a sorta sense for over the years.

i feel like, isaac and colin's "conflict" will not be that isaac is homophobic but rather wondering if he ever did smth to make colin feel unsafe or wary of telling him.

since we're nearing the end of the season soon, i feel like maybe we'll get more of the "endgame product" of sorts, with clues like x couple is gonna happen, or x couple won't happen, that sort of thing.

Spike's lines in Walk Through The Fire - the two at the end - stick out to me as being played as exceptionally silly in a song that is incredibly serious when you listen to the rest of the lyrics.

We get it, Spike is a little confused and emotional, hahaha.

But isn't the curse that they are doomed to sing their honest and true feelings? Thats why it's a curse, cause they're going around spilling all their secrets? So how can he be *feeling* both? How can he be *meaning* either one?

Except what if he is? What if there are two very clear intentions behind both contradicting lines?

1. "First he'll kill her, then I'll save her!"

It's the pronouns here that get me. This is the only time he uses "he" and implies that in this statement, Sweet will be successful. Spike already knows he's lost and going to be late to the party - a party that he thinks none of her usual support will be showing up to, and Buffy dying is a very real possibility here. So then how is he going to save her after she's already dead?

Well, Spike is uniquely positioned among the Scoobies (at this point) to be the only one who CAN save a dying or freshly dead person. It's a mindset we've seen before in Drusilla and Spike, who after spending a century together share a lot in common with their thoughts on love, death, and vampirism - Dru when she 'saves' Darla and Spike when he announces that Dru saved him from the mediocrity of his life. I think, in this line, Spike is considering making Buffy into a vampire. That's how he'll save her in *his* perfect outcome.

BUT

While Tara and Buffy are singing their parts he realizes two things: A. She wouldn't be the same (and damn if he's going to relive what happened with his mom here and now with Buffy) B. This isn't what Buffy would want at all. To make her a vampire would be just as selfish and pain-inducing as what her friends have already done to her, so he changes his mind and we get our next line:

2. "No, first I'll save her, then *I'll* kill her!"

James Marsters really does emphasize that extra "I'll" doesn't he? Theres a lot of anger and frustration there. Anyway - obviously the first part refers to saving her from Sweet... but the second part? At this point in the show, Spike is still unaware that his chip doesn't work on Buffy... so maybe he's talking about powering through a terrible migrain for the sake of adding a third slayer to his list... but what if...

Spike thinks there is a loophole to the chip. This is already established in the way he has Buffybot programmed. He thinks he can bite when given permission. Can hurt when asked to first. Could kill someone who wants to be dead?

At this point he's so done with the Scoobies it isn't even funny. They brought her back, she's put on a brave face for them, and now they've all turned their back on her and Dawn? I think in this line Spike is planning to do what none of them can. What Buffy really wants. He's going to get her permission to send her back to her afterlife.

It's not till he shows up and sees her dying in front of him that he realizes what he told Xander is true, he can't do it and he's not going to let anyone else do it either because he loves her too much and too selfishly to let her leave again.

He wants to, but at this point is still soulless.

Anyway, that's how I read those two lines.

Victor: I remember that beach camping you’ve been clamoring about for a long time. It can be put on the itinerary for the next weekend.

MC: REALLY! But didn’t you just say in the car that you were flying abroad next week?

Victor: The meeting will be ending on Friday. I have booked a late-night flight for the same day.

Victor: You can make use of these few days and think about what else you want to do for fun when we get there.

MC: There are so many things! I can’t even count them all on my ten fingers!

 Victor: Don’t get too excited too soon. The prerequisite is that you complete all your work.

Victor: I don’t want to see you hugging your computer and racking your brain in the hotel.

MC: Anyway, you will be by my side at that time. If, by any chance, I do run into trouble, CEO Victor surely won’t “fold his hands and see me die,” right?
