y'know. most of my life i used "rough draft" and "first draft" fairly synonymously but i am realizing that for me they are in fact. two different drafts...
#rough drafts are just getting ideas/emotions/actions onto the page. there's nothing fancy about them and they're barely coherent#they're more like scene play-by-plays. a step above an outline. barely coherent#and a first draft is my first pass at cleaning the rough draft up. start finessing language. making it....readable#hopefully with this realization about my workflow i can just lean into it and maybe write things faster#because i just. haven't been able to do the language finessing recently#but i have had more of a brain for the simpler 'here's what's happening' kind of writing#anyway. spent the lunch break thinking about my writing retreat in july and trying to plan for it
