what is the emotion you feel when you find out that the person who wrote the Great Big Gigantic Tome of Huge Amounts of Knowledge you've had for years is also. the preeminent scholar in that particular niche subject you've been having great difficulty researching.

#news from the cupola #if you would believe it this is Not for the research project which is the thief of joy. this is for 5deer purposes #thank you to patricia rieff anawalt for citing primarily Herself and Various Codices in the mesoamerica section of her own giant tome #thank you to my uncle's ex for giving me my own copy of the giant tome (WILD move; I was maybe twelve at the time)#hmm yknow. it hits me now that it's significantly harder to do the kind of illustration I like to do with a historical period #when you do not get to do the thing you Usually do which is extant garments & movies & reenactors & historical sewing people #there are like Two extant garments. I don't know any movies except ones I know are grievously wrong (ie. apocalypto)#I don't know of any reenactors or historical sewing people who Do this era and place and I don't really know how to Look for them #on account of. my spanish is limited to placenames food items and swearwords #anyway. patricia rieff anawalt save me patricia rieff anawalt.
