I mean. On TV, yes. I still have to assume, as I have done for my whole life, that watching F1 on-site is garbage because, like. those cars are doing 100-200mph there's no way in hell you can see what's going on besides ZOOM ZOOM ZOOMIE YEP THOSE WERE SOME CARS

#i do still like watching f1 on the telly tho#i don't DO it because i don't have a telly but when i HAVE it has still filled me with excitement and nostalgia#in my mind f1 will always be tied to saturday afternoons with the whole family in the living room#tea on a tray and biscuits and a generally wholesome vibe#and also one (1) fiery crash#which bizarrely i think might actually have been my tiny baby brain storing a core memory in 1994?#like i assumed it was the 1998 italian pile-up and it maybe was but also while looking i found the refuelling fire images from 1994#and i think??? i actually internalised that? which is wild bc i would have been all of 16 months old#but what i remember is a guy running around on fire and i think that HAS to have been jos verstappen#(and it has to have been in the 90s because it was definitely at the house we moved out of in 1999)#anyway yeah i can get behind f1 as a spectator sport is the point#unfortunately while it is a better sport than golf it is also orders of magnitude worse for the environment#so even my position as no.2 golf hater (prev is no.1) cannot displace f1 from the top of the “oh god no the climate” sports list
