What were the things that made you a Sutao shipper? Like your own reasons that made you love them

Im on mobile but imagine the wo shi mama gif right here (´ε｀ )akshs sorry again for another long text post not under cut orz but aa I think to start with just that they were so unusual, and that their love for each other ran so deep. and the kink ngshdg. it’s very hard to ship them just as a couple without the imbalanced dynamic, and at the time I really needed to see some kinds of love that weren’t so typical - a relationship not based in traditional romo/sexual attraction. the first time I saw the cam of tao calling jm mama and being so smoochy I was super interested, then happy camp etc happened and furthered that..and it interested me a lot that tao was so sweet and invested in it. I was crazy about the concept of mama kink (as opposed to d*ddy kink cause that was like just becoming mainstream at the time) and that sutao could have that basic dynamic but it was much more about caregiving and genderfeelsy and could be either platonic or kinky. and it amused me to no end how intense their fanservice could get and people would just dismiss it bc no that’s his mama.. 👀 and I found that was just their overall relationship, they weren’t like the others. it’s not like once the joke was over they just acted like friends - taozi was in jm’s care always, he was a big baby around him always and either sought out his guidance or rebelled against him always. and then they were also comfortable enough to go hard with the (almost) making out. they so clearly adored each other and it really fascinated me, and back then there was no content at all really for gender/a-spec/nd softs and I felt they fitted all of that really nicely and it made my heart so 💖💖💖. seeing baby taozi loved and taken care of and completely adored for being exactly the way he was, and then seeing how soft jm was for him and how silly he’d allow himself to be around him..always adapting to help tao and work with his moods and support him when he was sick. and that jm was a role that tao felt so strongly about (u know how much his actual mama means to him), and that tao was so open about how much he appreciated it (and that tao then tried to take care of jm too in return (*´ー｀*). jm was the person tao would stay up all night confiding in, someone he could totally be himself with. they were terrible and constantly getting up to no good together bc they just enjoyed each other so much. they have a really unique kind of love that’s so built on a genuine desire to care and nurture, but could also be intimate, to the extent of being like partners before the moment breaks and they’re silly mama and baby again. I find tao hard to ship ~normally~ because his interactions and views on love are so..not cut out for that, so for him to find someone he can love that way is really special ♡ it’s just. so interesting and the affection and adoration they have for each other makes my hearts swell like a big old balloon 🎈

I really love your answers about Sutao. I can see the love you have for them through your words tbh. Can you talk about them for a little, it can be about anything. Just something that comes to your mind, something you wanna say about them.

aa thank you;; I talk about them less these days because it just💦 seemed worth trying to move on from a bit, but they still have my whole heart TT; akdj so I’ll just

tao and jm had similar outlooks on things wrt work ethic and tao didn’t just want easy praise from him (I mean, that too, but), he was someone jm constantly had to tell to take it down a notch, stop pushing himself..for jm to do that, I think tao was more satisfied in himself. he was less sure of himself back then and took it really hard when he failed at things, and jm could deal with that too and went out of his way to remind the crowd to appreciate tao and show him love and let him know he was still worth the world. like;; jm is supportive of all the others but tao is his baby n he really showed it in times like that, when he’d hug him and pet him and use his ment to remind the audience that tao had done his best.

when tao first started getting injured and sick during the tour..the first time he fell jm tried to fuss over him and tao wouldn’t let him, he blanked him. jm had to adapt to how to deal with it, because tao was frustrated and upset  and didnt want jm rushing to make a fuss. so jm started making himself embarrassing, being the focus.so he could check in on tao

without making it super obvious that’s what he was doing

💖my favourite is how totally content and in love tao looked. of all the people he had around him to play with and love (including sehun, but that was a different kind of love), you can just see it shining out of him when jm loves him. when jm carried him like he promised, LOOK AT TAO;;;; the love and affection on his face is just;; he’s gonnna burst♡

when jm came to dance for him and tao was literally bouncing in excitement and his eyes are glittering and full of love;;;;

he adored jm in a totally different way, because jm wasn’t just a brother like the others, he was tao’s mama that always had his best interests at heart and did so much for him and it really was no joke and not something tao took for granted;; so jm’s attention, affection and approval all had added layers, and he soaked it up and adored jm so much

AND LIKE ALSO I think tao keeps looking for these figures in his life. doing his own thing and not listening to anyone is his favourite, but this boy adores his hyungs/ges/mamas. he does well with some structure and expectations to meet, he likes rebelling against it a bit too. he doesn’t like idle praise much these days, so he just melts for authority figures. he was the baby of the house on charming daddy, both times he’s been on lotj he’s adopted other cast as his parental role (he had two nice geges /and/ a dad on the more recent one. they had proper father son bonding trips and talks it was.. wow tao aksjd). but tarm was a rly rly good example of this. he wanted wang wei to have expectations of him, and he wanted to be good enough in the first place.

n!! I have feelings about tarm because wang wei was the closest thing to this relationship he’s had since and he had to get a tattoo to deal with it so.. he talked about how his wushu instructor used to beat him and it helped him succeed. for all of his silliness tao does like discipline and strict guidance (and pushing against it). when wei is surprised tao wants him to stay, when he’s been so strict with him, tao’s serious about it because he wants that. BUT then he goes on to be a shit to him too, not doing things he should and playing around and being totally inappropriate with his affection and wow :c a anyway
