if this had reached my blog Apollo 100% would have won.
#somebody gatekept this from us because they knew toa fandom would RIIIISE!!!! /silly#tumblr polls#anyway Rick himself has said Apollo’s his favorite to write so that speaks for itself#And Apollo’s the only narrator to actively make me laugh aloud - to the point of wheezing even#and no it wasn’t the “corny” stuff- it was the hilarious parts that are 200% ultimate humor#the initial insufferablity is what makes him fun#he’s not your standard protag#that’s kinda the whole point#his narration is filled with layers to peel back that the others simply don’t have#apollo is quite literally the best narrator because of this#he’s unreliable and reliable all at once and to truly- and I mean TRULY- figure him out?#you got to peel that onion apart#and honestly? not that hard to do so#it’s pretty simple actually#he’s more prone to unreliability in the first few books#but drops it in the last two#toa is about Apollo learning to peel off that protective mask and accepting the person he is#because no- he didn’t “learn” humanity#he 🔥accepted the humanity within him🔥#anyway this was another tedtalk from alder on Apollo and why he’s the best and everyone is wrong about him :3#the trials of apollo
