i finally saw eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. i liked it! i enjoyed how its shot and how surreal it is. the way he grasps at memories as they warp and disappear felt like an emotionally resonant portrayal of metaphorical death - death of relationships, death of who you used to be, who your lover used to be, and even the way it mimics the retrospective lens of a literal near-death experience.

#eternal sunshine of the spotless mind #this is my first time seeing it so thats probably Old Hat analysis #but its just my way of saying i liked it #i - too - imagine near-death experiences to be panicked and terrifying as you re-live things and try to hold on but immediately lose them #anyway this is up there with the truman show in terms of Sincere Jim Carrey Movies I Enjoy #i also have... complicated feelings on bruce almighty. but thats for another time
