Beau and Veth spend an hour and a lot of wine trying to convince Essek that in Blumenthal it's traditional to throw an apple to your love to express your feelings, and that he should use this method with Caleb. Add in the inebriation and dunamancy, and--

#this is based on a fun ''fact'' (many airquotes) I encountered about ancient greece which seemed dubiously supported by the literature #which posits that apples were used to show love or even propose BUT this seems to have become a warped factoid #while apples were indeed associated with Aphrodite (thanks Paris) and appear in some other notable myths like Atalanta #and there are some poetry references to throwing an apple associated with expressing a more sexy attraction #i was annoyed that all these 'TIL' type sites were just blindly regurgitating 'it's how people proposed marriage!!'#anyway this is irrelevant to my very (lovingly) stupid art above #i thought since Caleb canonically loved apple strudel and apples would have been a thing in Blumenthal 'apple = love' would be fun to apply #but since I went on that journey you get to too #lmao #shadowgast #ariadne draws CR #op #critical role #the more unhinged the art gets the more you know I am in need of/close to a vacation
