Hi op here, on my sideblog. How did this get so many notes??? Banger post if I do say so myself. Anyways, saw a video today about a fic tagged with noncon which was being bashed on in the comments for....being tagged with noncon. This is tiktok, so, not a surprise, but still. The fic is tagged with noncon because the main theme in it is about the PTSD and trauma that comes from rape and repeated violation--sexual and otherwise! The video even showed all the tags and warnings which explained this, but people chose to ignore anyway. Where are the critical thinking skills in fandom. Where

yall DO realize that when tags on ao3 are like "abusive relationships" "homophobia" "racism" "consent issues/r*pe" they are there to protect you, right? you do realize that those tags being there lets you know that an author RECOGNIZES when something is wrong and is explicitly tagging that because it's a story that discusses those things right? you do realize that the author is not *shudders* condoning those things, right?
