Thanksvember masterpost! This year I’m going to try to do (mostly) fics I didn’t include last year. Huge shoutout to all these fics and writers!! I appreciate each and every one of these so much!

November 1 - Going for Gold by @unhealthyfanobsession . I love @unhealthyfanobsession ‘s writing style and the way the individual character arcs come together. This Olympic AU fic had great pacing and writing. I was always on edge waiting for the next chapter!!

November 2 - I Don’t Want to Wait by @charincharge . This is 90% of the reason why I get through mondays. This Rowaelin AU is so freaking adorable and honestly the high school drama stuff hits different when you’re in pandemic high school or when you start college (it’s weirdly nostalgic but also like, whew, thank god I’m done with college applications). Anyway, this fic is the perfect amount of sweetness and suspense. I cant wait to see where it goes!

November 3 - Mr. & Mrs. Archeron by @moodymelanist . I mean, an AU where they’re both assassins but don’t know until they cross paths on opposite sides of a case?? *chefs kiss* It definitely keeps you on your toes! And the nessian is, of course, exquisite. 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for some Nessian with action.

November 4 - Wingplay by @simpingfornestaarcheron . This fic is sexy and hot as FUCK. If you’re looking for a little smutty spice, go check it out! 🔥

November 5 - Dark Roast, No Sugar by @whimsicallyreading . This rowaelin fic is coffee shop AU + a TON of angsty drama. I’m obsessed!!! I love the writing, and the pacing is just perfect — so much anticipation! Definitely recommend if you want an exciting Rowaelin fic

November 6 - In which she makes a friend by @bookstantrash . I love how Nesta opens up and getting closer to Kaelin (who, by the way, is one of my all time fav OCs), and I love Cassian and Kaelin’s interactions, too. The Nessian is obviously amazing! I love this fic and I seriously can’t recommend it enough 😍😍😍

November 7 - Let Me Be Your Home by @perseusannabeth . Regency Nessian? Uh, yes please!! Every detail about Nesta’s past hurts like a thousand paper cuts but it just makes her healing better and all the acts of kindness Cassian gives her that she’s not used to hurts in the best way. Seriously go read this right now!

November 8 - Scandalous by @arinbelle . I adore her writing (there’ll def be more of her fics on this list). This fic tho… *chefs kiss* I love a Nessian fic with sprinkles of angst and this one is like, my comfort angsty Nessian pregnancy fic. I love every single thing about it and have reread it a LOT. And I love it more each time.

November 9 - Famously in Love by @batboyazriel . First off, I love the premise for this fic! I mean, famous YouTubers that the internet ship? What’s not to love! Also, the way the narration follows all the different couples keeps the story perfectly paced. An awesome Nessian & Feysand & Elriel modern AU!

November 10 - Somewhere by @thewayshedreamed . I love her writing & narrative style so much! This fic is a rollercoaster of growing out of a toxic relationship and learning to have a more healthy love and made me feel so deeply. I really enjoyed every bit of Nessian’s progression, even when I wanted to cry.

November 11 - Come and get me by @c-e-d-dreamer . @c-e-d-dreamer ‘s writing is my newest obsession! This Nessian fic in particular gave me all the feels. 10/10 recommend!!

November 12 - Lay Down Your Burdens by @highfaelucien . Oh my gosh, @highfaelucien fics hit hard every time but this one has me drowning in bittersweet angty feels. Just all the pain and trauma and love in this one is impeccable. It’s utterly perfect and I’m so in love 😍

November 13 - Prepare for trouble, make it double by raging_fire (ao3). I’m breaking my “only fics by tumblr users” rule with this one but it deserves it. I obviously have a soft spot for Nessian pregnancy/parenting fics, but I don’t usually like OC-centric fics. This fic, which focuses on Nessian’s kids, proved me so wrong. I was so obsessed with this, the updates made my day and I even made a GC just to fangirl over it and make theories. You have to go check it out for your own sake!!!

November 14 - The Asshole from the manor on the hill by @moe8 . @moe8 has many great fics but I had to pick this amazing one in which Nesta confronts our least favorite asshole, Tomas ✨ The part 2 is great too!!

November 15 - An Exception by @confusedfandomslut . This fic 🥵🔥 I mean, modern AU with rival Nessian AND stripper Nesta? 👀 the ending is perfect too. Definitely recommend!

November 16 - For You by @rhysand-vs-fenrys . I think about this fic ALL THE TIME. I’ve reread it ALOT. Not only is it Lysaedion (!!!) smut, it’s also hilarious and adorable and just overall perfect. Some passages I think about:

“What are we?” “Pre-married.” Aedion answered instantly. When Lysandra did not respond he began adding to the list, “In love. Lovers. You are courting me. I am courting you. Engaged… Best friends? Confidants? You’re a beautiful, powerful woman and I’m… your toy?” He was less and less sure as he went on, but his answers were snarky all the same. “Two adults? Two non-humans? Roommates? Future permanent roommates? Too beautiful for our own good? Did… did I say ‘partners’ already?”

And:

“Just- if I’m being honest the wax was kind of… when we were playing with it I was fine, but I was picking drops off some very delicate parts for a week.”

November 17 - Holiday of Healing by @starbornvalkyrie & @aurips . Not only is this an adorable 6 part Nessian fic (and it’s the perfect time for a reread, now that the Holidays are coming up again!), I also love the Rowan-Nesta and Cassian-Aelin friendships 😍 This fic is seriously amazing. Go give it a read!!

November 18 - The Seven of Us by @julemmaes . A fluffy collection of oneshots about Nesta & Cassian and their 5 kids!! Literally every single one of these oneshots is so perfect and cute ♥️♥️♥️

November 19 - Nesta’s Smile is like the Sun by @vidalinav . I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to love someone who struggles with their mental health. It isn’t always easy to be supportive — often it feels like you’re useless and nothing you do rly helps them. But anyways this Nessian fic was everything I needed. I love your writing and this one hit hard, since I relate to both Cassian & Nesta.

November 20 - Made by @arinbelle . This Nessian Mafia AU fic… *chefs kiss* the PACING! The drama! The writing! The romance! The crime! Everything is absolute perfection ✨

November 21 - Boughs of Holly by @ncssian . I’m still so soft over the fact that you wrote this fic for me 🥺 I adore @ncssian ‘s writing, and her characterization of the ACOTAR-verse characters is always incredible — seriously, one of my absolute favorite fic writers and that’s saying smth bc I don’t have a life and constantly binge read fanfic. Anyway this one is super cute and perfect now that the holidays are rolling around again!

November 22 - Misplace Mail by @live-the-fangirl-life . @live-the-fangirl-life is a pro at writing fluffy cute oneshots & mini series! This series is not only hilarious, it’s also 🔥🔥🔥 Def go check out more of @live-the-fangirl-life ‘s writing if you love fluff!

November 23 - I’m here by @talkfantasytome . This Lysaedion fic series breaks my heart in the best way. It’s adorable but bittersweet and just absolute perfection. ♥️

November 24 - Supernova by @sirendeepity . I’ve only read the first chapter so far (which was phenomenal btw) but I KNOW this fic is gonna hurt like hell and I’m gonna thank it anyway. I know I’m going to be addicted to it. I love the premise, and the Nessian and the writing 😍✨

November 25 - Childhood memories by @happy-smiling-things . First off, I ADORE @happy-smiling-things writing!!! There are so many amazing Nessian fics so it was so hard to pick one. This one delves into Nesta’s past, her childhood trauma, and her growth, and I love it!!!

November 26 - Senseless by @mariamuses . This fic is such a memorable classic! It’s a little angsty — you know, because who doesn’t love a little hurt/comfort? Especially when it’s Nesta being vulnerable and Cassian trying to help her through it all? Go read it if you haven’t already!

November 27 - Your Love by @writtenonreceipts . I love all of @writtenonreceipts ‘ fics — I definitely recommend checking them all out! This one is written in a style I find really creative and interesting, and I absolutely love ♥️

November 28 - Lost by @arinbelle . This is a hauntingly beautiful fic. I cant even describe it. Just go read it when you have the emotional stability (or lack thereof) to appreciate the painful beauty.

November 29 - A favor by @ncssian . This is worthy of breaking my “no repeats from last year” rule. I cannot explain just how much I love this fic. Every single part of it is incredible. The characterization of Nesta, Cassian, and the rest of the characters within a modern context is so interesting to watch and just *chefs kiss*. Trust me, if you love nessian, you’ll love this. Do yourself a favor and go read it ;)

November 30 - A Lion’s Pride by @pitterpatterpot . This comes as a surprise to absolutely no one bc I’m obsessed with this fic and do free advertising for it 24/7. I reread it so many times that I almost memorized the whole thing so I had to take a break so that I could forget a bit and fully experience it again. The exploration of Aedion’s character is just so perfect, I love it so much. Did I recommend this fic last year? Yes ofc. Will I do it again next year? Probably. So go read it so that you can come scream about it with me ♥️

From last November to present day I can say that I’ve been living in a golden age!! I’ve experienced things that I could have never DREAMED of experiencing before. All of this feels like life has rewarded me for pushing past the strife I’ve faced, the ignorance and ineptitude I held, and the knowledge and wisdom I’ve gained. Thank you so much to you all, these past months I will never EVER forget.. And thats a promise. To everyone, even those I don’t talk to as much, thank you for everything you’ve taught me, and for the memories you’ve gifted me. I love you all, each and every one of you.

1D Day, Hour Three

Almost halfway through this hour, which is almost halfway through this day, is the point where Louis Tomlinson stops having fucks left to give and starts getting real. He’s still a professional throughout hour three (not like Harry in hour two, oof), but god, how??? Everything here is a disaster, and it’s infuriating when you consider that a) this must have been somewhat planned out (the band is HUGE, allegedly 32 million people are watching), and b) it’s being produced in LA, presumably with easy access to professionals who have had some experience with live shows (since, what, the 1930s???). Anyway, I would have loved to hear the choice words Louis no doubt had for Ben Winston when he ran away during one of the Google+ Hangouts, lmao.

When I first watched this two years back, Niall’s nervous laughter nearly drove me insane, but this time around, I’m loving the subtle nuances w/r/t wtf is happening on this here day as Louis’s rage starts to climb and Niall’s Slytherin core starts to emerge. Deets under the cut.

Niall and Louis literally burst through a paper wall to launch hour three and reveal Niall’s lilac hair (also revealed: the fact that Niall’s “a diva,” according to Louis). The color’s hardly even noticeable, but Niall’s all worked up about it, and I’m betting he had to do this because he has no tattoos, so everyone wanted to freak his Virgo ass out with something “permanent.”

The first bit is so tiresome (Louis’s childhood friend, Stan, forcing the Milkshake City staff to perform the world’s sleepiest version of “Rock Me”), but I’m a huge fan of Stan’s for the Larry purple dildo video alone (ICONIC; ping me if you need a link), plus I love the tidbit about the time Harry came in for a milkshake for himself and “a friend back at home.”

After we survive this long-ass bit of fill, Louis and Stan take the piss out of each other and banter a bit with Niall, which is all pretty hilarious and also makes me sad in the key of “oh how I wish that was me.”

Because it wasn’t at all tedious in hour one, it’s time for another Guinness Book of World Records challenge (Louis: “Of course it is”), this time balancing coins on faces. Hey, speaking of faces, did you know that men are at peak hotness between the ages of 32 and 36? This guy is 22 years old, doing the stupidest task ever, help me, Jeebus:

Next up is the randomizer, which randomly pulls celebrity videos, and this is when the in-ears start acting up for Louis, who’s midway through Robbie Williams asking them for the best live performer they’ve ever seen, prompting Louis to give Ben the evil eye off camera and go off script to say Michael Buble, ha.

Some random sports man (update: Doncaster Rovers manager) demands that they do pressups up and burpees, and Louis gives us a surprisingly strong and steady nine pressups before proving why he’s most relatable:

After fits of unnecessary laughter from Niall, and a lot of exasperation about the technical problems so far from Louis (friend, you’ve seen nowt yet), we get the best VT from this entire day, the iconic bts video for “Talk Dirty to Me,” and if you watch nothing from any of this, please tell me you’ve seen it in full for Zayn the goofball! Liam’s hanky code shoutouts! Harry’s hip chub! Louis and his glorious torso! Niall in full Farmer Ted mode!

Next up, we get astronauts congratulating the D from space, and whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I mean, honestly, WHY? Are these astronauts fans? Is anyone besides Niall into space? I know there’s an intense interest in making space interesting for teens (how many times have people on the international space station beamed their way into MTV award shows at this point), but whyyyyy.

Scott tells us we’ll soon see Doctor Who (mild interest from Nouis) and Simon Cowell (Louis: “SIMON COWELL, WOO HOO, I LOVE THAT GUY!” Niall: “Simon GROWL”), but first up is Doctor Who, and this is where the wheels fall off the bus, technically speaking. First, there’s a 15-minute delay (!!), so Nouis are standing around while the Doctor handles some other interview for the BBC. Eventually, they connect, and Louis makes the understatement of the year (“This is gonna be tough”) as both the video and audio go full Inception and echo in and around each other to make us all woozy:

Louis again understates the chaos happening on screen by saying, “I think actually that this is not working,” and then begging for any VT, they don’t care, help (the VT is Niall being all humblecholy about their success and Ireland and something something, I’m not actually interested, sorry).

We come back to Louis still losing it, curious as to how they can have a link to space but can’t have a studio in LA link to the BBC, and yeah. YEAH. But enough about that, it’s Google+ Hangout (lololololol) time, and we don’t get too many answers to these vital fan questions because Ben is in Louis’s ear so much that Louis starts arguing with him about it and eventually runs off stage to yell at him in person, and god, it’s glorious. READY 2 FIGHT:

Because this is an utter trainwreck, the team decides to do another live link again, this time to the X Factor while it’s airing in the UK, and it’s…yeah, not good. Just awful, cameras out of synch, no sound, etc. Save us, random VT of Denmark!!

Hearing Louis say “tits up” is my new religion, but honestly, this chitchat with McFly is such a revelation. Apparently, they worked with Niall on something, so they gossip with Louis about what a diva Niall is (!) and how he brought a friend of his named Shawn around (!!), and there’s a lot of inside jokes I know nothing about, but I’m LIVING for Niall looking at all these boys on the screen and saying, “I feel like I’m alone in my bedroom,” and Louis’s response, “Okay, Niall!”

“Don’t Forget Where You Belong” is announced, but we don’t get to hear it (although we DO get to see some sweet Nouis dancing), and two more girls go into the call box of doom. Because this show’s producers can’t go ten minutes without a disaster, there’s increasingly urgent screaming from Louis to Ben to just roll the Zayn graffiti VT, which takes at least a full, tense minute to post. 

Zayn is incredibly hot, but my heart breaks for him saying it’s their 127th show, and he’s feeling inspired and creative to make art, and I just wonder how??? How are you not banging your head against a wall instead of painting it? Anyway, it’s a lot of spraypainting/artist au Zayn come to life, with Liam working out shirtless nearby and heaping praise on just about every single thing Zayn puts on the wall (awwwww). Also some nice Flicker reference points (Niall: “Zayn, will you draw a picture of me?” Zayn: “No. I don’t like you”). Ouch.

We come back to Rebecca, an opera singer who’s here to sing some tweets, and this is a horrible idea that Ben Winston stole from Jimmy Kimmel, right? When he used to have Josh Groban sing tweets a million years ago? Anyway, this ripoff doesn’t work because nobody can really understand the words, but credit to Louis for trying to cheat and speed this whole thing up:

When Rebecca finishes, Louis says he got emotional (Niall just laughs), and this poor girl says not to worry, she’ll do more later, and lmao at Louis: “Oh, OH, there’s more in store, Niall” (Niall: “Can’t wait”), sighhhhh, it’s torture for us all, tbh. Anyway, time for some Belgian VT and reinforcement that Louis’s part Belgian, which is why it’s super relevant, I guess.

The last bit is back to Dynamo, to redo the magic bit that failed with Harry in hour two. I’m still curious about this trick because there’s a piece of paper locked in this box (Harry’s dick holds the key to it), and tl/dr, Harry says April for the month an hour ago, but Louis says November, and sure enough, November plus all the other details are in this locked box. HMMMMM. Me as Harry’s finger delivering the key immediately in this segment, meaning he’s literally right there watching all of it. Pick someone supportive, etc.

Anyway, back to the trick, there’s a bit where Louis says he told Dynamo all this information earlier (Niall starts chewing his nails a bit ferociously at that), but then he backpedals brilliantly later about what an amazing, stunning trick, etc., and this group of sneaky liars, god, I love ‘em!

We get more terrible highlights, which sucks, because I kind of liked the way Louis was asking Niall what HIS highlights were, but never mind, let’s get Ben’s. I’ll leave you with this picture that makes me think of Louis hosting Family Feud, you know, the final round, when you have to see how your answers stacked up with a family member’s and if, together, you cleared 200 (“Name someone a person may confess a crime to”):

This year hasn’t really been the easiest. Shit, I think it was one of the worst but thankfully there are people who stood by me throughout, some left halfway through, some I pushed away, some couldn’t last. Some decisions made might be regretful, but things happen for a reason whether you know it or not. Regardless, you can’t undo what happened. All you can do is to learn from it.

I went to my first concert ever, and it was for Imagine Dragons (losing it) and honestly I did not regret my company for the day. And I freaking cried throughout when they entered till the end of the first song. Seriously. HAHAHAHA.

Also, it’s the first time I went JB with the clique or my friends tbh. It required more convincing than I thought, LOL, but yas, I’m so glad to have you guys around.

I started talking to TW which was… HAHAHA. Oh well, everything is an experience aye?

It was a weird month where everything was so jumbled up together tbh.

It wasn’t that long since I got together with Da but it’s also when we ended. I’m so thankful that you showed me so much patience and understanding and took care of me throughout the semester and stayed by me relentlessly. I honestly don’t know how to tolerate me even after what happened.

I started talking to Nic again because it felt right; that we could become friends again. We started hanging out and tried so many new firsts together, again. I wish I could feel the same again but it just wasn’t right anymore.

And my ex-girlf was dumbly back in Singapore for work, last I heard, she’s back in China again, smh. But I’m glad I got to meet you even if it’s for a while.

I met some friends in SMU and truthfully, we are kind of a shitty group in terms of classwork wise HAHAHA. Pulling stunts every time and doing work freaking last minute, it’s a surprise that we passed the module even.

Sem 1.2 would not be survivable without Luq and I’m so thankful for you bro. He’s been there for me for whatever shitty reasons that makes me 24/7 upset, especially with all the exams and stuff. And he’s been filled with all my nonsense and bullshits, I don’t know how he’s still surviving being my friend HAHAHA. So glad I met ya.

And I met Jun, I liked him so fucking much guys. I can’t HAHAHA. Thanks for bringing me to my first clubbing session ft. Zedd. I can’t believe I was prioritizing guys again. Sigh.

An important month of the year for my Chigga, THEAAAAAAAA. I’m sorry I kinda disappointed you with a simple plan to chill at the beach for your birthday, you had so many people to choose to spend it with but you spent it with me yas. I appreciate you so much. We’re just too damn ridiculous with our constant bullshits and I’m thankful that someone like you is around in my life.

Luq and I restrung a guitar for the first time while being scrub and doing it at a Coffee Bean outlet. Such horrible low ses lyf, just because we didn’t want to pay extra for services HAHAHA.

Also, Taiwan trip was a bomb. Sure I did not expect to go with MJ and it’s definitely weird but guys, platonic af. He’s always so understanding and tolerating of my tantrums and rage quits. Though he sucks at planning but HAHA at least he tried. Thanks for bringing me around and it was really enjoyable because I got to travel alone for a bit as well, it was one of the best fucking experience.

I knew this guy through OkCupid and it was just that period of like, “oh I’m bored, let’s find some guys to talk to to pass time”. Damn, ever since we met at KOI and talked bout shits, I don’t know why it was so personal but I’m glad you opened up. And I couldn’t wait to see you, it was a weird feeling and I’m really not against it. You went Artbox with me, it was my first. Worse, you tricked me into hugging and kissing you okay. HAHAHA, you were just really this adorable guy and I wasn’t expecting much for us to happen and my friends weren’t really supportive either because I ain’t ready for this shit. But for me, I just wanted to see where this goes.

It was also a milestone for Xi Mum and finally got proposed to. I’VE WAITED TOO LONG FOR THIS. I’m so glad it happened, it was so freaking beautiful okay guys.

And a million thanks to my BFF who made time to spend my birthday with me. I’m just so thankful that it was spent with someone whom I love. There was so much chilling and new shits. Thanks for putting it out to cheer me and showing so much love.

Jiamin is finally back in Singapore and the weird poly clique could reunite again, at least for like… a few hours HAHA. You guys are still weird af. Though we are walking different paths, I wish y’all the very best in the next to come.

And I met this weirdo SMU girl, Amanda. HAHAHA, so our friendship literally started from, “Eh you want go club tonight with us?”, and I’m just like, “Ya sure ONS”. HAHAHA, WHY ARE WE SO FREAKING RIDICULOUS. I think it was just FOMO but HAHA, she’s one of the best out there guys.

As the date comes nearer, I get more nervous, I have no idea why but yeahs, it was our anniversary and it still kinda haunts me. We used to go every HHN together, except for the last and this year. And yeahs, it was just our thing, and now it’s changing.

Also, it’s my BFF, Denise, birthday as well. It was saddening that she didn’t join us for HHN, I think she would flip and it would be the joke of the next century HAHA. BUT WELL WELL WELL, that spot is taken by Lixuan and Thea and HAHAHA, GUYS, legit damn funny their reactions.

Finally, a break to take a short travel, ALONE. Guys, I might be addicted to travelling alone. Tbh it was abit scary because of all the recent events and I don’t know, it just isn’t a safe country LOL, no where is.
