ok but if sci-fi and space operas steal so much from sailing and naval structure, why are there no space shanties? time is an even weirder soup in space, and having shanties in zero g ships and factories would be great, actually

#I think warframe is the only one I've seen do something in that vein #although it was a work song? it has been a while since I've played so I might be wrong #anyway shanties could also help keep track of the passage of time #in addition to providing rhythm and synchronization among the crew #in b4 but sci-fi has advanced tech so you don't need shanties to keep time #what happens when that tech stops working you egg #you NEED redundancy points
