I love (hate) how when a famous person gets into the news for say … publicly setting their own boundaries or some other controversy (whether it actually is a controversy or not) … you get people coming out of the woodwork to give their spicy hot takes on the situation.

And those people are like “lmao I think this person’s trash and I don’t see why people are so obsessed with stalking them”

Congratulations. You don’t like the pop culture icon. You’re so brave and so special for speaking your mind.

To be less vague - I saw some people basically joking that Chappell Roan’s music is trash so why are people trying to stalk her like she’s hot shit. Or the “well I think she’s trash but people shouldn’t be stalking her”

Like can we just not have the first section of either of those statements there? The second half where we condemn the fact that people are forming such a strong and almost dangerous parasocial bond with a celebrity who doesn’t owe them jack shit should really be enough of a statement without you signaling how cool you are for not liking her music.
