Kind of disappointed by the mean girls musical movie adaptation :/
#let me just say first and foremost the cast was AMAZING#I’ve nothing bad to say about them#but the movie just wasn’t it#I don’t like what they did to the songs#they really tried to make this a movie for everyone and changed the songs from broadway songs to generic pop songs and I did NOT work#also they genz-ified it too much#like I’m all for some modern slang and references but it was just a bit too much#also a bit too much tiktok#idk they just tried to make this is movie for both theater people and ‘normal’ people (idk how else to phrase that)#and you just can’t have it both#anyway love you renee rapp cant wait to see you next month#but yeah I’ll just be listening to the original broadway cast recording#mean girls#mean girls 2024#mean girls spoilers
