Semi-regularly going to the movies has really opened my eyes to how weird our local theater is

Not every theater room has the same seating capacity, which I figured would be the case, you make the IMAX one the biggest since those tickets cost the most, you put the newest movie there.

But they have SMALL ones too like ~50 people seating capacity

When I saw Lisa Frankenstein, it was within the first week and we had the higher capacity theater. Same with Madame Web, since I saw that days after it came out bc I was bored that week.

The first time I saw the hunger games prequel, I think it was like mid-size room, the second a smaller 90 people max room

But when I saw the Oscar's Movie Week re-release of Oppenheimer (boring as shit, glad I only paid $6) we were in like a ~55 seating capacity one which I thought was amusing that they even had ones this small

Like I get it, it was like 4 people in the theater (but that's normal for when I go, since I go around 10am), and it was a tuesday showing. But it was so little it was funny how small it was

And theres a second floor?? I've been going here since I was little and i guess i never looked up?? But theres like a little seating area up there in like a balcony that overlooks the lobby. I haven't been brave enough to go up there yet but 👀 inch resting...

I wonder if that's where the pizza hut is, bc you can order a full pizza I think?? I know you can buy slices and those are preboxed out on a warmer you pick up and take to the register

Oh and I got a physical ticket yesterday, which since I've been preordering online to streamline the process (and not talk to anyone but the ticket taker and snack bar person) I've never gotten one. Which I'm kinda sad ab bc I would have liked to have gotten a physical one for thg prequel :( but I couldve used the ticket box for that if I really wanted it lol

I wonder if it was just for the Oscar's promo? Or if it's optional on the ticket takers end and only this guy does it 🤷‍♀️

#marquilla #i never noticed the seating capacity plaques until i started going alone but thats bc i was always with friends or family so not focused on #the environment other than noticing theres smaller snack bars in the wings of the theater lobbies but theyre only open when it's busy #i like noticing the capacity idk why i just think thats neat sgdggdgd #when you order online they tell you what theater you're going in and i use that to decide where to park sgdgdgd like 1-15 or whatever is one #side and 16-30 the other not that it's that much of a walk between exits but when you go at 10 theres usually lots of space #little kid me would be in awe at how often i go to the movies now sgdgdggd bc it was always such a huge treat usually only for my bday if #that bc my dad didnt like going bc its loud and crowded with people in a cramped space #i did go more in hs bc my friend lived right by the theater and we went on nye freshman and sophomore year which was a lot of fun #anyway idk where im going witj this sggdgdgd
