It's stupid, but my current hyperfixation of Mia Atsumu is making me so depressed. I had this huge ordeal with my sibling that I got into Haikyuu!! and the introduction of the Miya twins was like "👀 wanna cosplay them?" This never happened, of course. There is nothing that could fix what they did and jfc I miss that time when we got along and regret sharing something so important to me with them.

Please don't go, I love you so.
"Anyways I was thinking we should head to the pier." Roman spoke as he walked over towards his friends. At the lack of response, he spoke up again. "Guys, I-" Roman stopped in his tracks as he looked up to see Patton and Logan in the middle of a kiss. Everything slowed. His hands started to shake, causing him to drop the ice cream cone he had gotten to share with Logan. It was silent as he stared at his two friends, and he didn't even realize tears were forming til his cheeks became wet. He used his hand to slowly wipe at his cheek, holding it up to reveal he was in fact silently crying.
"Roman? What happened? What's wrong?" He looked up to see a face full of concerned Patton. Hands were on his shoulders and he just blankly stared into Patton's eyes as tears flowed down his cheeks. "Roman?"
"I.." He looked over Patton's shoulder to see a concerned Logan, and his heart shattered. He should've known.. "I have to go." Roman shrugged off Patton's hands and turned on his heels. He blocked out Patton and Logan's voices as he went from little steps into a full-on sprint down the sidewalk. The tears never stopped, if anything they got worse the farther away he was.
He sprinted past the shops and venders, ultimately running pass the park. Ethan and Virgil were walking with their boards towards the benches, but Ethan took notice of the figure running down the street. He nudged Virgil gently. "Isn't that Roman's jacket?"
Roman turned the corner and huffed. He was breathless by the run and his tears never dried. The boy rubbed his eyes and the thin layer of sweat from his forehead. "I should've know-... I should've known he didn't like me. I was wrong all along. 'The boy he is in love with', isn't me.."
"Roman?" He yelped in fear as he swiftly turned around to see Virgil and Ethan. "I didn't mean to scare you, sorry. Are you alright? Have you been... crying?" He took a step closer and wiped away a stray tear from Roman's cheek. Roman shied away from his touch.
"I'm perfect! Just a bit upset is all!" Roman smiled as more tears fell. Ethan frowned at how twitchy Roman became. Virgil stepped forward cautiously.
"No, you're not. And you know it.." He whispered. "Are you okay? Answer honestly, it's just us." Virgil glanced back at Ethan. Roman glanced between the two, and his smile became wider.
"Yeah, I'm okay." Roman chuckled sadly, but soon his wide smile became a frown. "No... N-No, I'm not okay. I'm not okay at all-!" He sobbed into his hands as his whole body wracked with emotions. Ethan cautiously placed a hand on Roman's shoulder. The boy pushed into the other's body immediately, sobbing into Ethan's shoulder. Virgil and Ethan shared looks of concern. "I make myself smile everyday, when I just wanna cry myself a river and float down til I fall over the edge. I-I hate being in love with a boy who would never consider me, and I-I hate that I was stupid enough to think... maybe he did love me." Roman hiccuped, hiding his face from the two.
"Oh sweetheart... We're gonna take you inside, okay? You're gonna change into some comfortable clothes and we're gonna help you, is that okay?" Ethan placed some distance between he and Roman. Roman looked up into his eyes. His cheeks were wet from tears, eyes bloodshot from rubbing them so hard, and that little frown on his face...
Roman sniffled, then pressed back into Ethan for comfort. "I'll take that as a yes."
Lady and the Tramp played in the background on Roman's TV. The movie was drowned out by laughter from all three boys.
"Virgil, no! Please don't!" Ethan wheezed as Virgil dipped his slice of pizza into his cherry slushie and ate it soundly. Roman made gagging noises as he watched Virgil do a double dip. "Well- I'm done!" Ethan shoved away his slice. Roman's phone vibrated once again, and he checked the caller ID.
"It's Logan again..." He mumbled, his finger hovering over the answer option. The other's laughter made him look up, and he was met with Ethan's golden smile. He was staring back so fondly at Roman. His cheeks heated at the sight, and he looked back down at his phone to find his finger still over the answer option. He glanced back up to find Ethan's tiny smile.
3 missed calls from: Logan Par ❤️
"Everything okay, Ro?" Ethan flagged him down, a comforting hand on his shoulder. Roman looked up at him, and his frown disappeared.
"I'm perfect.." Roman sighed. Ethan's cheeks heated as he made do to look away and back at Virgil. He looked down at the caller ID, and made a few adjustments.
Logan Par.
Two hours later it was ten o'clock at night and the boys were well worn out. Virgil was already drooling on Roman's coach, good thing his parents were visiting a few relatives. He draped a soft blanket over his lifelong best friend and turned off the TV. Ethan opened up a trash bag as quietly as he could and started collecting the empty boxes and cups. Roman assisted and tied off the bag.
"Won't your parents be concerned to find a homeless man on their couch?" Ethan quipped, glancing over at a sleeping Virgil. Roman snorted into his sleeve, not wanting to wake up said '1homeless man'.
"Nope. They're out of town for another week. Besides, I've known Virgil for.. well, forever. Since diapers. Our mom's were best friends in highschool and through college. They were joined at the hip, and now I guess Virgil and I are too." Roman said, a tiny smile on his face at the memories he and Virgil made.
"So he's like a brother to you?" Ethan asked, wiping his hands on his jeans.
"Something like that, yeah."
The two continued to clean in silence, the only noise is them moving around the loft and Virgil's soft snoring. Roman double checked the living room and found it was clean enough. "I'ma assume you're gonna head home?" He looked over to see Ethan was looking at some photos.
"I wouldn't wanna impose, so yes. I think I'll start heading home." Ethan spoke as he grabbed his board.
"You could stay, if you want." Roman mumbled, twiddling his thumbs. "There is a guest room. Virgil already found comfort in the couch so,"
Ethan glanced over at the purple haired boy snoring on Roman's couch, and smiled. "Thank you, but I really should be heading home. My brother is probably blowing up my phone right now." Roman's smile faded, not because Ethan wouldn't stay, but because Patton was Ethan's brother. Maybe some of why his smile vanished is because he wants Ethan to stay..
"I understand, lemme just grab my jacket."
They stood on the sidewalk right outside of Roman's complex, saying their goodbyes.
"I really appreciate what you and Virgil did today after.. well, y'know. It was nice of you both."
"It was no big deal, Ro. I knew I had to put that pretty smile back on your face, I'm just happy I managed to do just that." Ethan chuckled.
Roman's cheeks turned red, and not because of the chill air nipping at him. "I.. thank you." He threw himself into Ethan's arms, enjoying the warm body holding him. "Thank you.."
They separated, only joined by their hands. Ethan leaned down and placed a searing kiss on Roman's warm cheek. A sly wink.
"No problem, darling."
