wish people didn't equate protagonist to hero/good guy 90% of the time. not every leading character is going to be a good person but you're following them because they're interesting and seeing their story unfold and how they affect people is interesting. this doesn't exclude characters who have "good intentions" or do good things either

#like walter white? not really a good guy #wu zetian? shes pissed for understandable reasons but the book never really tries to paint her as a good person for the things she does #to her what she does is *justified* even if the lengths are extreme #also like SHES the narrator Zetian isnt going to turn to the camera after crushing someone in her mech and say “this is a bad thing to do”#the book follows her pov and how she views things is a result of how she's experienced the world and the people in it #anyway i read some reviews of Iron Widow that took “its man hating radical liberalism” from it
