okay opinions time.

so i love the new sonic frontiers update. yes its hard as fuck, yes i wanted to give up multiple times, yes i even said it was impossible in the Master King Trial. But despite all of that, it was fun.

It gave me a huge sense of accomplishment when I beat the Master King Trial AND the new End fight that I cried out of joy and stress when I beat both of them! I was so happy that I didn't give up, and ended up just sleeping on it whenever I felt like I was getting angry.

It also gave me a chance to connect with the Sonic community, as I am a new fan (got into sonic around 2020). I was looking through community posts and seeing other people struggle and complain and call it impossible, as well as people asking for tips. And the people who responded with tips helped me out soso much, I wouldnt have been able to beat it if not!

I dont know about you, but I was hoping for a boss rush in Sonic Frontiers, and now that we have it, despite being insanely difficult, im pretty happy about it. Being forced to learn new techniques (speedrunning tricks) AND finding out about features from the boss fights that I didnt know before (parrying Wyverns rockets, and parrying Knights spikes) was really fun.

plus, the ending was so worth it. i dont think I could find it but before I beat the game I saw a post speculating about how the Original ending was the bad ending, and the Final Horizon ending is the good one, and idk about you guys but I agree. i like that speculation

Plus the story? The playable characters? Amazing. playing as amy and tails and knuckles were all really fun and I dont have much words about them but djdkdhdkdjdjfn ( also amys voice acting in that one scene if you know you KNOW)

despite this, will i ever fully complete this update? Absolutely not, I cant complete most of the new Island challenges or any of the portals, but that doesnt take my enjoyment away.

Idk, im rambling at this point! im about to replay the update saturday so maybe my opinion will change or whatever but I liked the update thats the post bye

Obviously I need to share the good word of the Sonic Vocal Tracks like dude i will make you sit and listen to all of them if i have to but my personal favorites are “This Machine” from Sonic Heroes, “Find Your Flame” and “Im Here” from Sonic Frontiers, “Live & Learn” from Sonic Adventure 2 and “I Am… All of Me” from Shadow the Hedgehog. They are a little more metal/rock ish sorry if my music terms are off but yeah you will be screaming you will be so pumped

Also literally just any track from any Lupin III media is so fucking good omfg. So Jazzy and upbeat you will feel so radical. My favorite intros are from Part 2 and also “Superhero” is a transcending experience I lives in my head rent free. Yuhi Ohno’s work is honestly just so good just skip immediately to his entire discography

Ok im sorry im a hardcore MARINA and Girls Love Shoes fan its just who i am inside. I need to come clean. Girls Love Shoes’ “Supamedicine” is my godsend its my holy grail. MARINA always drops bangers the people know her not much to say than that.

Also some random out of pocket ones. Any minecraft parody ever, any pop song from the 2000’s, animation meme songs that haunt you for life, the living tombstone and specifically She Wolf but nightcore. Just night/daycore / slowed down/speed up just to get a little cray cray.

I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED.

You asked for any Sonespio/Sonpio/Esponic shippers to explain. And imma do my best to explain why I personally ship them. With my hyperactive mind.

Rambling be damned.

It is a tragedy they don’t interact much. And it makes me actually sad whenever it’s brought up how little interactions they have. Since they are a very interesting duo to play around with. (One of my favorite duos actually.)

It’s true the two have very conflicting personalities and views. Sonic being more carefree and basically just “smash things ask questions later”. And Espio being a lot more regulated and grounded.

One of the main reasons why I like the ship is because of the aspect of the other lacking something the other has. If that makes any sense (I am extremely hyper apologies for any bad wording).

Espio has the cool head and ability to analyze situations. But lacking the ability to sometimes just chill and accept mistakes and mishaps can happen (Literally says he needs to restart his ninja training after losing a simple game. My dude chill it’s not that serious).

Meanwhile Sonic has the ability to see the positives of a situation and make even the darkest of situations have a chance of hope. But sometimes (severely in some cases) lacks the ability to take things seriously. Going with the flow a little too much and trusting the wrong people or that it’ll just work itself out.

The relationship between these two definitely would start out messy and not the best. But through things Sonic could help Espio learn about accepting mistakes and to just..chill sometimes. And Espio could help Sonic slow down at times and plan his next action. Instead of just jumping in headfirst without looking.

The dynamic to me presents a lot of interesting avenues of exploring their characters. Both in a platonic and romantic sense.

The two also share some similarities. Although not that many. One of the things I like to think about it is how much they both care about the people they love and cherish.

In Lost World, when Tails gets kidnapped by the Zeti. Sonics mood changes drastically and outright gets mad at himself for letting it happen. Because he acted careless and put his best friend in danger. And does everything in his power to get him back. (There’s also him in other games like Frontiers. But I wanted to talk about Lost World lol. Cause back then I had an obsession with watching that games cutscenes constantly despite not owning the game.)

It reminded me a lot about how Espio acted in the Metal Virus. After losing both Vector and Charmy. Espio is extremely upset about it and after seeing Sonic. Lashes out at him, blaming himself for not just getting rid of Tinker. And just listening to Sonics word.

And when presented with the aspect he’d have to go solo to get the emerald from Zazz. He takes up the mission knowing full well the danger it holds. And stops at nothing to get the emerald to get back his team. And is seen happy and sitting with them singing when they do get cured.

Both Sonic and Espio clearly both care deeply about the people close to them. And would stop at nothing to protect them. Even risking their own safety. Even if they both have different approaches to go about it.

My favorite aspect about the duo/ship to explore is how their dynamic can cause conflicts. And can have similarities that could make them bond.

I can definitely see why people wouldn’t ship them. As they have a severe lack of interactions (most of them being kicking each other into the dirt. Or getting shot with a blow dart lol.)

And it’s kinda hard to find content of them because of how rare they are. With only a few people really making content of them. But they are one of my favorite ships.

Anyways sorry for the excessive rambling. I just got over anxiety and am extremely hyper now. And I just really like talking about anything Espio or Sonic related. Cause they plague my brain like a virus.

Hopefully some of this made sense and I explained myself in a somewhat coherent way. Sorry if I didn’t. I’m bad with words when hyper.

Since you like Sonic x Silver and Silver x Espio... do you think Sonic x Silver x Espio could be a thing?

"Silver has two hands" is a thought that has crossed my mind multiple times, certainly! :> So in that regard, an OT3 (is that what it's called?) is definitely something I have thought of before. But there's just one thing: I have no idea what Sonic and Espio would see in each other when it comes to a romantic relationship. To me, they don't really strike me as two people who'd mesh well together, in that regard. Perhaps that is because they just never interact, so that makes it hard to say XD

(I'm exaggerating a bit: when it comes to Team Chaotix as a trio, like in Colours DS or Runners, Espio is often also there and chatting with Sonic and Tails. But on the other hand, how much has Espio talked with Sonic on a more personal basis? Iirc they don't share a single word between them in Heroes, for example. And that game aside, have the two of them ever had a conversation or something similar in any of the games or Sonic Channel? Sure, Espio participates in some challenges in Gens, and they probably talk a bit in Forces, and Espio mugs Sonic in Rivals 2... but if you told me that Espio and Silver have had a more solid development of their friendship in one (1) game than Espio and Sonic have over twenty-two years, I'd believe it in a heartbeat. Heck, it feels to me like they've had more actual conversations in the IDW comics (2, in my mind: regarding Mister Tinker and during the Metal Virus saga) than in all the games combined!)

....It's honestly so bad that I don't even know what their ship name would be, haha! Esponic? Sonpio? But yeah, overall I am absolutely open to the idea of an OT3, but I struggle to envision how Sonic and Espio would work in it. I fear they might be too differently-minded for a romance to work out (e.g. how rigid Espio is about training whereas Sonic is free as the wind and does what he wants), whereas for Silver with either Sonic or Espio, I think there's enough similarities between them that they'd love being in love with each other. But if any Sonic x Espio shippers want to explain to me what you like about the ship, I'd be happy to hear it!🍀
