oh my good god is persona 4 transphobic/homophobic its so bad
#i knew before going in that it was but hoooooly shit#tw for homo/transphobia#but one characters introduction is as a boy before the reveal that he's ~actually a girl!!~#who only wants to be male bc he isnt taken seriously as a girl#and gender confirmation surgery is presented as this scary dangerous thing to be stopped in order to save him#while another character is shown as a big stong macho guy but ooh actually he isnt bc he likes men#but its ok bc the guy he had a crush on was a girl all along!! so both queer characters end up 'fixed' into cis/heteronormativity#anyway im just gonna power through and ignore all that for the cute storyline with two gay dudes that exists in my head#bc its actually a much more interesting story that way#the whole game is about “accepting your true self” then it totally undermines that by suggesting that queerness should be suppressed#yikes#anyway i cant complain abt this on reddit bc its full of men with 0 media literacy who cant imagine a character they like being gay
