For that matter, while there is nothing more annoying than bad Tolkien + religion discourse (mostly falling into three types tbh: "why JRRT was actually Neopagan", "for some reason tumblr search starts turning in reams of discourse about shipping" and "every problem with the work is because of his Catholicism"), intelligent meta that takes this and related subjects into account might be the best thing in the fandom, whether I agree with all the specific takes or not.
