your tags about pete and his sleep are giving me many brain worms about the fact that there are two scenes in canon where pete sleeps very soundly thanks to alcohol. and i'm wondering if that's something pete abused to cope during vegas' coma (and how macau would react to that). just some thoughts lol, anyway i'm super happy to see you posting more again ❤️

Oh. Oh. Anon, why would you do this to me? I can't have more brainworms here, I'm drowning in my own notes (as in literal notes, I have like 3 notebooks full of them since 2023). I'll admit I've never thought about it for anyone other than Porsche and Kinn. We got canon proof of their dependence on alcohol to cope with things, though Kinn's was more subtle. I can see Vegas maybe at least try it, and it ending up not helping. As for Pete... I'm not sure. A lot of people in the fandom believe his father was an alcoholic - or at least a lot of people write him that way in fics - and I'm in the minority because I'd prefer it if he were fully conscious of his actions. I kind of have similar feelings about Pete's ways of coping during hospital era - after all, he'd want to be alert and ready for anything. However. One scenario I can picture is Porsche forcibly taking Pete at Yok's for a couple of drinks - not immediately, maybe a few weeks after Vegas got shot. Maybe Pete ends up going because Macau will stay in the room, and maybe he ends up drinking a little more because Porsche insists and maybe his empty stomach was a mistake because he feels the effects at once, and they linger, and he's dizzy and he's floating and he's laughing and he's crying and it's nice and it's awful and- He does it again for a couple more times before Macau gives him an earful and Vegas looks at him with glassy eyes full of worry and guilt.
