Slowing an audiobook from my usual 1.5x speed (anything slower USUALLY sounds like molasses to my ears) happens for two voices and two voices only:
Neil Gaiman and Tatiana Maslany
#neil gaiman#because the man has a near perfect voice and it just sounds wrong sped up#tatiana maslany#because in this house we respect every vocal nuance of our original clone queen#jk—genuinely there are some audio narrators I love with my whole heart and constantly listen to at my usual speed.#most people sound totally natural to my ears sped up#but for whatever reason these two need to be leveled out#probably because I grew accustomed to their voices long before I trained my brain to 1.5 things#totally weird to think about how brains work#anyway! rereading hunger games via tat’s audio is gonna be a RIDE I’m very excited
