I finished reading 4 books from Earth's Children series. The last three were really hard to read. After finishing Plains of Passage, I have come to really appreciate Clan of the Cave Bear as a standalone. I miss all the Neanderthals and Ayla's character arc. Gotta do some fanart!
PS. I MISS IZA! Best character in the series.
#clan of the cave bear#earth's children#after the first book it just goes downhill#REALLY DOWNHILL#Ayla becomes the biggest mary sue EVER#in the first book it was believable because it's established in the story the Neanderthals have different skills that Ayla must adapt to#and she wasn't doing anything over the top#She was just adapting#but later she starts doing insane things#like wtf?? NO human ever figured out they could strike iron pyrite to get sparks?#NO ONE ever figured out they could make a needle?#She invented the arrow too (or whatever that thin short spear things they did? not the spear thrower#I will not be surprised if she ends up inventing the wheel in the next two books#also domesticating animals#also there were so many traumatizing scenes#three different rape scenes in book 4 !!???#I was going to throw up#It just.. got very uncomfortable to read#it changed me#so I now I'm thinking about the first book#yes it has all these same elements from the later books but they were sparse and were actually part of the plot#part of the character development. in other books they were just things that happened. Like. the characters are not impacted by it at all.#you could read the end of the book and nothing about the characters change after witnessing these traumatic experiences#they are the same from beginning to end#uh um sorry for the rant O_O#anyways I miss izaaaa#bye

I got these shoes from someone recently but thought they were way too plain looking, so I set out on a quest to customize them with some sharpies and charms and miscellaneous ribbon I had in my craft drawers. Mostly sky themed (clouds, rainbows, rain, stars, etc.) because that's my favorite aesthetic, but I had to include some cat imagery as well, of course lol.
#also honestly had NO IDEA that real converse have that star logo on the INSIDE not the outer part??? why the hell would you want it on the#inner portion where nobody can see it?? my entire life I always would have sworn it was on the outer facing portion..#I think these would be perfect IF they were just slightly taller (top part higher above ankles instead of just weird hard material digging#right into your ankle whenever you walk) and if they were actual good platforms. they're so short. It's good that 'chunky' shoes are gettin#more popular as they've always been my favorite Look ever since I had these shoes with roller skates that pop out of thebottom (not heelys.#but like. before those. it was two whole entire roller skate wheels like a normal pair of roller skates) and the bottoms were so tall and#clunky and it made my feet look giant (because it had.. entire wheels in the bottom pockets lol). so#I've alwatys been into the aesthetic but . still I find a lot of the 'brands jumping on trend' are too short of platforms#OR they're plafrorms with a raised back/heel/wedge which to me is not aesthetically good and also makes them exceptionally uncomfortable to#wear compared to just plain completely flat chunky platform bottoms. ANYWAY.. if these shoes had a 3 or 4 inch platform I think they'd be#cooler. however for what they are it's still fine! and I like them more now that they actually have some sort of anything to them and#aren't just plain white. The weird thing is that the material it's made out of (maybe some sort of leather or something) absorbs sharpie?#the color changes over time. You draw a mark and then leave it for a few days and it either fades into being barely there or has changed#colors. so I had to go back in and redo parts. ALSO the shoe chains are so funny because I did NOT have the right tools for them#I don't have the stuff to make bracelets or open and close the little rings. they're held onto the shoe with just safety pins and the actua#little rung things that hold the charms on half of them are like broken or the metal is just jam smushed together bent and warped hhbjhjhb#I actually like the back a lot where there's the irridecent star thing hot glued on there. it's cool and shiny. and the clouds#are sparkly on the main parts of the shoe though I'm not sure how well it shows up in pictures#ANYWAY... shoegs..... If I were rich this is one of the things I would definitely custom order from craftsman#why would I spend like thousands of dollars on plain ass shoes that are just expensive because they're a Luxury Brand when I could literall#like pay people to create me custom shoes to my exact specifications?? I could have like 5 inch flat platform boots with fur andclouds#and cat shaped holes in the bottom with LEDs in them with pom pom and charms and etc. etc. etc. Like as gaudy and excessively over#decorated as I want lol.. AND they could have skates in the bottom somehow!! ghjgbhjb#this on top of all the custom wizard costumes and period clothing I would order.. Like i LOVE customizing things. I love everything in my l#life being as particualr as possible and cultivating every experience I have to meticulously meet my own specific criteria as much#as is possible. If I had the money to I would never buy something from a store again. EVERYTHING I owned from furniture to clothing#would be either made by me - or mostly - comissioned from craftsmen. custom tiles for my floors. custom bed. custom table.#even like. custom toilet. custom sinks. etc. etc. ouGGH... but yeah.. anyway... shoes..

i like literally wish i didnt feel compelled to rewatch and relisten to the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again its like actually really annoying and frustrating because i just feel like im constantly stuck in a loop doing the same things over and over but thats just literally what its like being autistic like its just frustrating cos i dont want to have to be constantly fighting with myself over it because its like okay we dont need to get stuck in the daily loop of walking in circles for hours listening to the same songs we've heard 200 times or sitting and watching things we've seen 30 times and there are better ways we could be spending our time but the compulsion is SO strong and its just Omfg like its just annoying and horrible because I have to force myself to try to break out of patterns I wish the constant compulsion I have to do the same things over and over and over and over and OVER AND OVER wasnt there at all because it would make things way easier for me and it just makes me feel so dumb.

idk what im saying but i just think hating on a piece of media bc it's been made into a different form ( specifically book into a movie / show / play / etc ) is so limiting ... like ur not any better bc you hold the opinion that the book is better than show and picking it apart to show the differences only the proves the point that they're Two Different Pieces of Media ... interpretations aren't inherently bad they're just different

#this is specifically about the wheel of time#i love the series dont get it twisted now i LOVE the books#i've read it twice i have like 4 copies of the first book#it's a hoot#it's also an INCREDIBLE SLOG to get thru#and that's one of the NOTABLE things about this series is that it is hard to get thru#i skipped book 10 my first go round#just the entire fucking book i skipped it#do u want an ENTIRE season of perrin going: ): it's so cold where's my girl ):#and then not dO ANYTHING for an ENTIRE sEASON ?#no u have expectations of a movie/show to entertain u and there are parts#of the novels that aren't exactly riveting and wouldn't make good tv#on top of that ... there is queer rep in the show and the issues concerning rigid gender roles is sorta flipped about iirc#as much as they could be for hollywood ig BUT THE POINT IS the story is told in another way#not the story is completely done away with or trashed#does that make it perfect?? no ... but it makes it fun#having a tv show or movie is GREAT for me to introduce someone to a series i love so then i could go#“if you liked that wait until u read the book bc it goes deeper”#bc u CAN DO THAT IN A NOVEL! NOT A SHOW!#IT'S A HIGHLIGHT REEL! AT THE MOST!#this also goes for foundation and dune .... both books i LOVE and movie/shows that i ENJOY very much#a side by side scene by scene copy from book to page would take more money it would take 400 years to produce and it would be boring#plus i personally love to see how characters are remade and how they do the cool things in the book but differently

OHH U SHOULD DO A RENDERING TUT ONE DAY BTW
I would if I knew how to render! I just throw colours at the canvas and see what sticks, if it looks good, keep it. If I were to say something, I guess my biggest tip would be to study old paintings and I think you'd really like(my personal favourite too) toulouse lautrec Haven't done that in a while tho I think it shows. Oops
O before ei forger, what i do to help with rendering is paying extra attention to composition, light and value and clarity(ig that's composition again but shh) because I believe in trying to balance all those at once instead of relying on rendering to make something look good. Works for me

ARRRGGGHHHHHHHHH the freshman wants to TRADE CARS for the weekend.... how do i politely say i would literally kill myself and everyone in a 10 mile radius if i had to let someone other than my mom, dad, and brother drive my car
#girl you are NOT getting access to my 98k mile 2017 grey subaru outback with smart cruise and lane detection and heated seats#and my stickers on the hatchback and the bluetooth audio and automaticly-changing night mode rearview mirror#and the comfy driver's seat in EXACTLY the position i want it in and the shifter knob that perfectly fits in my hand#like when my aunt drove my car last summer it basically solidified that i will never let anyone touch my car ever again#(she put a fucking TACO on TOP OF THE DASHBOARD and moved my fucking steering wheel!!!!!!!!)#my car was literally the only place i felt safe all of 2021 and 2022 im not letting some random fucking person TAKE her from me#i did not have a PANIC ATTACK leaving her at the mechanic for 2 DAYS for some fucking freshman to USE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!#like i know i can be territorial but boy my car is all the territory i ever need. i could live out of my car if needed.#what if she fucking crashes it. shes been in soooo many accidents (i have heard all about them.)#dude if this were in person i wouldve fucking hissed and ran away i dont let people touch my fucking car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#I drove 4 hours back to school at 11pm so that i wouldnt have to have my friend drive my fucking car!!!!#like genuinely i need to find a way to say no i cannot and will not let you use my car now or ever.#i dont care what her reasons are. her boyfriend could be fucking dying and i still wouldnt.#she wants to take my car to minnesota for a WEEKEND and i would not be there ????
