i have escaped the c range in physics!!
#according to my handy dandy spreadsheet this means the lowest i can get on our last exam is a 70 to keep the b-. okok we can do this#personal#the physics chronicles#i still think exams taking up 70% of a final grade is fucking insane though. can anyone tell me if that is out of the ordinary for their#schools like is my school’s exam % just weirdly low (im not taking this class at my school it’s at a community college)#i feel like no though 30-50% is p standard… like my myth class is at a different community college and it’s only 38% for quizzes and#tests.. hello….#i can also get as low as a 45% on the last exam to end w a 75% which i Think is what they consider a c (again this is insanity) but im also#not really sure they’re v unclear abt it#anything >= a 70 is “passing” vs anything >= 75 is “good.” not positive if this means you must get a 75 to get a c instead of a c- tho#(the reason this is an issue is bc engineering does not accept c-’s they’re automatic fails. but our c-’s are anything below a 73% not a#75% like what… a 74% i feel is p reasonable i think that’s what the standard was in hs but not 75%…)

Little details from Chapter 75
F[Under the cut to protect everybody from spoilers!]
AAAAAAAAAAH there’s so much to unpack with that one, I’m really excited to talk about it! Original Twitter thread here. I will also c/c some elements from my Reddit comment, because I need to preserve my energy for this week’s commentary!
Bye Gantetsusai Tamiya, hello Tetsunosuke. I am never calling him anything else again.
I am worried. We already saw what an important loss of Tao can do to someone. Gabimaru lost his memory, and passed out in chapter 70. Yuzuriha actually died of it. Chôbe is a bit of an oddball when it comes to that, because he was also technically in no shape to put up any fight, but the Waitanhua had a very positive effect on him and considerably improved his Tao. Still, it doesn’t mean he’s fine with overusing it. And right now, we’re seeing a man willing to go out in a massive bang...
Fuchi is so brave. Seriously, he lets Tao Fa beat him in order to help Tetsunosuke, and now he jumps and grabs to keep her in place, still in order to help. It’s especially ballsie considering Testunosuke has no depth of field anymore since he lost one eye. Fuchi is awesome.
Fuchi is also really good at riling him up. Please, love that cute little nerd.
Chôbe reflecting on the right attribute. Being Metal, he’d be a better match against Tao Fa (Metal hinders Wood).
I had mentioned the idea in my Aza Bros analysis and I’m so glad to see it happen now! Tôma clearly is the voice of reason and the only one capable of keeping Chôbe in line when he is about to do something reckless (especially since I’m under the impression he really doesn’t like what the Waitanhua did to his brother). And Chôbe listens. Tôma, you beautiful soul, please, keep doing what you’re doing so Chôbe stays alive! We also know Tôma has an affinity towards Tao, but it’s really interesting to see him step up (again), when he only showed quiet worry before! He really gained some confidence during his internship with the GabiGang.
New Kishikai form! We’re getting a mix of two attributes this time, Wood (Tao Fa) and Fire (Ju Fa). These attributes are a good match, since Wood regenerates Fire.
[C/C starting here]
On the new Kishikai form... It's so cool. You gotta love UG's creativity when it comes to that sort of design! I'm really eager to see how it'll work, since it'll involve two matching attributes (Wood generates Fire) and genders. Like Fuchi said, we may have a battle of attrition coming soon, because TaoJu Fa's Kishikai may be able to regenerate itself more efficiently by using the techniques of Bochu Jutsu to have their Tao circulate in the appropriate manner. After all, we already saw in the fight against Ran that they did exactly that, switching from female to male form to regenerate their Tao.
However, they aren't the only ones with matching attributes. Chôbe and Tôma are in that situation as well (Earth generates Metal), and we saw with Nurugai and Sagiri that a touch may be enough to have some effect (which is pretty big, considering Nurugai is a kid barely capable of handling Tao, while Tôma is older, more experimented in fights and capable of wielding Tao). Besides, while Fuchi may be too weak to cause serious harm, if he's combo'd with Tetsunosuke's powerful strikes and Chôbe's general brutality (that can even affect Ju Fa), they may get interesting results. Btw, Tetsunosuke may not possess the right attribute to seriously harm TaoJu Fa, but he's also of the Fire attribute, which means he can handle Tao Fa's attacks (Wood generates Fire) and Ju Fa's as well (Fire vs Fire). Meanwhile, Tôma should be wary of Tao Fa, since Wood hinders Earth, but should be able to handle Ju Fa's attacks (Fire generates Earth). Besides, he has Tetsunosuke, another Fire attribute, on his side.
To close that post, I’d like to point out how funny it was for us foreign fans to bet on a 4 vs 2 fight as soon as the Kishikai form hits. On the group chat on Twitter, as well as on Discord and Reddit, we were really seeing that coming. I wonder if the Japanese fans felt the same? The ones I follow didn’t mention that.

Ramblings: Yes Giordano Norris blah blah, Tarasenko’s slump, under-the-radar players and more (Dec 17)
Ramblings: Yes Giordano Norris blah blah, Tarasenko’s slump, under-the-radar players and more (Dec 17)
***
It’s that time of year again – The 10th annual Midseason Guide! It’s up for presale and the release date is Friday, January 11. Pre-order it here!
*
I’m a big fan of teams who go outside of the Old Boy’s Club to hire a young GM with a fresh, analytical hockey mind. So I’m a fan of Kyle Dubas and John Chayka. Dubas believes in creating a professional, winning culture from top to bottom and uses analytics to identify undervalued players. I think Chayka has the same philosophy. An under-the-radar thing that both men have done is set up a winning culture at the AHL level. In the offseason, Chayka added Adam Helewka (trade with San Jose for Kyle Wood), Hudson Fasching (trade with Buffalo) and Robbie Russo (trade with Detroit), plus they signed veteran David Ullstrom from Europe. The three forwards are close to a point-per-game for Tucson and Russo has 13 assists in 21 games. How good is that for the development of potential fantasy owns Conor Garland or perhaps Tyler Steenbergen? Those are two high-scoring junior players with a slim thread of development that would likely fizzle out in a lot of systems, but in Arizona’s system they are being brought along nicely. Teams like San Antonio (St. Louis’ farm team), Rockford (Chicago) and Cleveland (Columbus) struggle to score – do you think that helps Dylan Sikura, Jake Walman or Vitali Abramov?
*
I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of space here talking about the ‘G’ position over the last two months. My goal today? Get through this without even mentioning the word. Today it is all skaters, all the time. Honest.
*
Here is a quote that I’ve heard about a dozen times over the past week, during a dozen different games by a dozen different talking heads.
“Mark Giordano, now here is a name we never hear about in Norris Trophy talks.”
Uh, consider his name now heard. A lot. In fact, it’s the only name I am hearing in Norris Trophy talks, so you can stop saying that now. All of you.
*
Still, another two points Sunday gives Giordano 15 in 10 games. He had 10 in 10 games before that, and 10 in 11 before that. Remarkably consistent. Back in 2014-15 he had 35 points in 38 games to start the season so he’s done something similar to this before. But he’s 35 years old now and coming off a 38-point season. Who knew that getting rid of Dougie Hamilton would help him this much at this age?
In 2014-15 he slowed to 13 in 24 games before a biceps injury ended his season. In 2013-14 he had 43 points in 53 games, again showing a track record of similar production. That too was interrupted by injury (21 games – leg). His pace is for 90 points and he is seeing a bit of puck luck (9.89% 5on5 S% usually around 8.4%), but it’s the power play where he’s seeing the biggest spike. At 12 PPPts, he’s already surpassed last year’s 10 and is well on his way to a career high (currently 26). The Flames sit 13th in the league at 21.6% PP efficiency, which is certainly maintainable. I think if he stays healthy this is the year that Giordano tops 70 points.
*
Calvin De Haan has three points and nine Hits in his last two games. De Haan is a player who rarely reaches 80 games, but if he does he’s looking as if he’ll top 200 Hits. His career high is 140. In leagues that count Hits, he’s becoming an appealing option. He should also, if healthy, reach 20 points and 120 SOG, which would also be a career high. He saw secondary PP time Sunday (with Justin Faulk) for just the second time all season, so I wonder if that will be something to look for in the coming games.
Warren Foegele snapped a 25-game, yes 25-game, pointless drought Sunday. The fact that he was never once scratched ruing his slump tells me something. His value in other areas of the game will keep him in the lineup through thick and thin.
Vladimir Tarasenko has gone seven games without a point. Tarasenko – seven games, and he’s also minus-9 in that span. He is on pace for 53 points, which is his worst production per game since his rookie campaign. His linemate Ryan O’Reilly has four points in that span, but overall has been having an excellent season so it’s hard to imagine that Tarasenko’s production could suffer this much. Having Jaden Schwartz taken off his line has hurt, and I wonder if the Blues would be better served reuniting the Tarasenko – Brayden Schenn – Schwartz line and have O’Reilly play with Perron and Alex Steen or perhaps Robert Thomas or Patrick Maroon. Throughout his career, Tarasenko has been the driver for production on his line, but this year he is clearly the passenger and for whatever reason needs help.

We are 32 to 34 games into the season, depending on which team we’re talking about, and yet seven players have 45 points. That’s seven players reaching approximately 109 points or more – a level that zero players hit in 2017-18. Jack Eichel and Mark Scheifele with big games Sunday to join that club.
Eichel’s been playing on a line with Jeff Skinner and Sam Reinhart, as you know, and that line has been ridiculous lately. Eichel, with four on Sunday, has 25 points in his last 15 games. Reinhart has 19 in 15, Skinner has 14 in 15 (but 10 of them are goals). I took a look at the best lines for this season and the line is ranked 11th (after I filtered out the four-forward PP units that ranked above them). With Jason Pominville on that line instead of Reinhart, the line actually did better and ranked seventh. Looking at Eichel’s line combos, he was with Pominville for 28.5% of his ES shifts and tallied 41.2% of his ES points. He was with Reinhart for 37.2% of his shifts and that resulted in 32.4% of his ES points. Far more production with Pominville, but perhaps Sunday’s big game in which the trio with Reinhart combined for nine points was that moment in which the line really meshed.
Reinhart, by the way, is on a 10-game points streak.
By the way, the top line was of course Mikko Rantanen, Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog – and that was also the top producing line of 2017-18. Run this report in Frozen Tools to see the full list of top line combos this season.
*
After what I think was a short break (correct me if I’m wrong WPG fans), Nik Ehlers was put back on the Scheifele line and popped for three points. He had four points in 13 games to start the season and has 20 in 20 ever since.
Scheifele has three consecutive three-point games. The last player to do that for the franchise was Marc Savard back in 2005.
Tyler Myers had four points in 27 games to start the season and has six in his last five – three of them on the power play. He’s been seeing regular secondary PP minutes over the last nine games and that unit has been better of late. He pairs with Morrissey on the PP, while Dustin Byfuglien mans the top unit. Jacob Trouba has been removed from the power play altogether, it would seem – just 48 seconds total over the last four games.
Coach Paul Maurice is still riding Big Buff as his main QB, but he has to notice that Josh Morrissey has arrived. Even with secondary PP time he has 12 points in his last 11 games with four of them with the man advantage. The torch will be passed to Morrissey soon enough, but it seems as though he’s going to just walk in and take it on his own terms, and say “screw it” to the coach’s timeline.
Mathieu Perreault has points in eight of his last nine games. Maybe the 30-year-old still has gas in the tank after all. He had been so horrible over the last 20 games of 2017-18 and the first 24 games of this year, that I had my doubts. Just eight points during that span, plus a forgettable postseason in which he was dealing with a lower-body injury. I had figured that perhaps that injury had become something that stuck with him long-term and impacted his play.
*
Speaking of slumps – four points in 14 games for Yanni Gourde. He’s playing with Ondrej Palat and Steven Stamkos and still seeing decent PP time so I’d like to think that he’ll shake this soon.
*
A certain player in the G position was pulled Sunday for St. Louis. I’m not going to get into that, I am staying strong in my vow not to discuss that position for an entire Ramblings. But playing against that particular person in charge of guarding the twine was a real boon for the red-hot Flames’ scorers. Of course…James Neal wasn’t a part of the seven goals, but Auston Czarnik was. And I spoke of big line combos, and that line of Johnny Hockey – Sean Monahan – Elias Lindholm ranks third, combining for seven points Sunday.
But back to Neal vs. Czarnik in what is becoming my pet cause. I’m not saying Czarnik is great or anything, I’m just saying it sure would be nice to see what he can do if given the same chances that Neal gets:
Neal has seen about 522 minutes of ice time, with 76.5 minutes on the PP, with most of those 445.4 ES minutes with Matt Tkachuk on his line. He has five points at even strength and two on the power play. That’s a point every 100 minutes at ES and every 38 minutes on the power play, give or take.
Czarnik has seen about 226 minutes of ice time, with 27.3 minutes on the PP, with most of those 199 minutes at ES also with Tkachuk on his line. He has six points at ES and one on the PP. That’s a point every 38 minutes at even strength and 27 minutes on the power play, give or take. The contract is doing the talking here. The track record. Their puck luck is about the same (similar 5on5 S%), and Neal is getting sheltered minutes with a lot of offensive zone starts that Czarnik doesn’t get. And yet Czarnik’s CF% is higher (better possession), and his IPP is way higher (75% of goals scored when he’s on the ice he gets a point on vs. 43.8% for Neal). I’d just love to see him get a shot.
*
In a 7-2 loss Vince Dunn was in on both St. Louis goals and has five points in his last six games. He has stormed out to the lead among the talented Blues’ defensemen in scoring with 14 points on the season, three more than the injured Alex Pietrangelo and four more than Colton Parayko. He also have five points on the power play while the rest of the team’s defensemen combine for six.
*
Aw crap. I made it most of the way into the Ramblings without mentioning a ‘G’. I watched the Calgary/St. Louis game and caught the final half of the Edmonton/Vancouver game, but didn’t see the San Jose/Chicago game nor even flip to it for a second. And so in reviewing that one, I see that Martin Jones got shelled. Three goals given up on four shots and he now sits 46th in the NHL for save percentage. It’s been a terrible season for Jones and frankly after his initial year with San Jose he hasn’t been good at all since. Two great games – his best of the campaign – in early December gave us a bit of hope, but the Sharks are piling up the W’s despite him not because of him. Anyway, trust in the contract. He’ll continue to get all the starts he needs and will probably get 30 to 33 wins again. But I don’t see that SV% reaching 0.910 and perhaps not even 0.905. And this is the first year of his gaudy six-year contract. Thanks Martin, for ruining my goalie-free Ramblings. I even got past the St. Louis guy getting pulled without mentioning his name or position.
Kevin Labanc, who had two points Sunday, has seasonal points-per-game averages of 0.36, 0.52 and now 0.65 in this his third year (53-point pace, thank you Frozen Tools). We love steady development trajectories and I don’t have to tell you what I think next year will bring.
Dylan Sikura was called up by Chicago last week and picked up his first point of the season Sunday, an assist. He’s been lining up with Brendan Perlini and David Kampf. His 18 points in 26 games for Rockford sit him 12th in the AHL among rookies.
*
Jujhar Khaira is becoming a very good fantasy option in leagues that count Hits. He has seven points in his last nine games plus 24 Hits. Thirty points and 150 Hits would be a great return on an often overlooked second-year player. The preseason projection for him in my Fantasy Guide had 20 points and 135 Hits.
Interesting stat, after a Sunday that also included Brock Boeser picking up three points and Elias Pettersson extending his points streak to seven games: 668 of 3148 goals scored this season were scored by players 22 years old or younger (21.2%). The last time this happened was in 1987-88 when it was 25.8%. Gretzky was 26 that year so he wasn’t a part of the 25.8%, but teammates Esa Tikkanen and Craig Simpson were. Top scorers that year at 22 or under – Mario Lemieux of course, Jimmy Carson and Luc Robitaille.

Who provides reasonable car insurance for a young man?
"Who provides reasonable car insurance for a young man?
My 20-year-old stepson is seeking his first car. He's newly licensed and thus has (obviously) not had car insurance before. He also has not had a loan so he has 'new' credit. The insurance quotes we have gotten for him are outrageous! Allstate offered him...get this... $1300 a month for ANY car we could think of! He's a full-time student with good grades, and we're talking cheap used cars here. Progressive offered a better rate ($400/month for full coverage, $250/month for basic) but they don't want to let him pay by the month, meaning he's gotta fork out 2 grand for six months of coverage...which puts a bit of a crimp on the whole car shopping thing. Is there any insurance company out there that is a little more reasonable? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Okay so I am 18 years old living on my own completely dependent. Now if I put my dad as a secondary owner to my car so I still have possession of it and got on his insurance would it be cheaper? Or would it have to be his car. I live in Oregon by the way. And also could I get better rates if say I got on my grandma's insurance? Is that possible considering she isn't my guardian or anything and I don't live with her? Because she has the best credit known to man and I know that affects your rates. If you have have any tip on how I can stop paying 250 a month on my 94 Accord which is 4 door (yes I'm getting very raped by American Family) I would appreciate it.

Can you have two car insurance companies with out them finding out?
I need an SR22 but my parents insurance company (Allstate) is saying I must go somewhere else or my payments are going to sky rocket. I only need the SR22 for two months so I figured I'd just get a second policy for two months, stay on my parents' as well, then just cancel the second policy when I don't need the SR22 any more so I can avoid losing the great rates I have on my parents'. Would my current insurance company find out if I got a second policy and cause me to have to reevaluate our current policy (which is the main thing I'm trying to avoid). And lastly, if you can't have two policies on one car could I leave my name on both and just take the car off my parents without having to reevaluate our current Allstate policy?""

How much should the insurance cover?
I was at an intersection, a 4 way stop. I stopped, and entered the intersection. The guy had Geico, they first offered to pay me 70% that was raised to 75%, and after another call it went up to 80%. So I know they have room to wiggle around. If it helps teh other driver got a ticket from a police officer for failing to stop at the stop sign. The damage to my car is on the two doors, they're completely busted. I would think they would be liable to the full extent of the damages, but apparently not. Im in New York state if that helps at all.

Car insurance question! help?
Ok so I'm 17 years old. I have had my license for 5 months. I have never gotten a ticket, been in an accident or pulled over. My parents are buying me a car.. and well I'm a teenage guy so I want a sports car. My parents said I can't have a car with a v8 engine or any kind of GT because it will raise the insurance cost. I found a nissan 300zx online for around 4,500. It isn't a gt, its automatic and its a v6. I told my dad about it and he said no. When I asked why he said because nissans are different and the insurance will be high if I buy that car, but he says its fine if I get a different car make that has a v6. Is what he said true? Will the insurance go higher because its a nissan sports car? (We have gieco)""

We're wanting to get preggers in the near future. We're trying to look at our financial options for insurance. Currently we don't have major medical insurance (I don't need any comments on this, it's not what I'm asking about). I'm hoping to get a type of maternity insurance that will cover a couple thousand dollars. We're also planning on home birthing (again, this isn't my question, so I'm not interested in opinions on this matter). Does anyone know any carriers that I could get some maternity insurance from for the states of Utah and/or New Mexico?""

Health Insurance Quotes Needed Online...
""Compare car insurance with health insurance, car insurance is a law, health insurance isn't why?""
car insurance is a law right? and I know a lot of people that have a very difficult time paying car insurance since it's so high, but it seems like insurance companies are making a lot of money, NOW how can we compare that to health insurance if it became a law to have to have it. You would hope that health insurance would be more affordable since more people are putting money into the pot right, but I am afraid but it being a law, the rich (insurance companies will get richer) and raise the cost of health insurance since it's a law. Maybe our solution would be to have our government give us tax breaks on health insurance premiums and some how get more for our money with health insurance. It's sad that you have to spend $500.00 a month for health insurance but still have to pay office visits and wait 6 months for preexisting problems. Maybe the solution is to have better health insurance options, right? Isn't that what McCain wants?""
Why am I forced to buy health insurance?
I do not want to buy any type of insurance and am willing to live with the potential risk this involves. I respect that others might want to buy insurance, but do not force me to buy it. I respect the decisions of others when they decide to be insured, so in return they should respect that I do not want to be insured and live with the risk this involves. It would then be my own fault if I come into a situation where I would find myself unable to pay health-care costs and succumb to my disease/injuries. So why do some people and the government continue not to respect my way of life if I respect theirs? And please do not say that because public hospitals would be forced to treat uninsured people like me - the government should immediately repeal this socialistic law/practice, too!""

Where can I get consultation for health insurance?
I have been having a lot of insurance problems after about a year ago I went to a PCP for chest pain. They charged me for a general check up ($100) and referred me to 3 places, a hospital for an ultrasound (hospital bill $3500, doctor bill $750), a place for x-rays ($75), and a thoracic surgeon consult. The surgeons office was the only one to warn me that my insurance would not pay for their consult. My insurance, UnitedHealthcare, has only put in about $2000 towards the ultrasound and I am left with a lot of bills that I had no idea I would have until months after these was all done. Now I feel very frustrated and I do not feel like I can trust any insurance company to help me. I was wondering if there are businesses that can help me get the best insurance for me and explain how much everything will cost as I do it. I find it way too confusing to figure out on my own. Rebel Scum can’t stop Kerryon Johnson! (John Reed-USA TODAY Sports)
War Eagle everybody! It’s time now for the Acid Reign Report on Auburn’s 44-23 home win over the Ole Miss Rebels. Last week, Auburn used the deep passing game to run out to a big lead. This week, it wasn’t necessary, as a dormant running game awoke and Auburn was able to grind out considerable yardage on the ground, and via short passes against a backed-off Ole Miss defense. On offense, Ole Miss was able to complete pass after pass, but kept bogging down in the red zone. Auburn was able to rip out to a 35-3 halftime lead, and coasted home from there.
We are now halfway through Auburn’s football season, and the Tigers are 5 wins vs. 1 loss, and undefeated in the SEC. Auburn has wins of 37, 39 and now 21 points over SEC rivals. Auburn will face formidable tests in the coming weeks, traveling to Baton Rouge next weekend to take on LSU. Fortunately, that will be the CBS afternoon headliner, and Auburn will have a great chance to take down LSU in the bayou for the first time since 1999. A road trip to slumping Arkansas follows that, then a bye week, then another road trip to Texas A&M. A lot of folks had written the Aggies off, but they sure gave Alabama all they wanted, last night. Auburn finishes November with 3 straight “amen corner” games at Jordan Hare Stadium.
Auburn continues to introduce new facets to an offense that was stagnant early this year, but has been getting stronger and stronger. Ole Miss played a lot of Tampa-2 zone defense, determined not to allow Auburn to burn them with long passes. The Rebels paid a price for that, with only 6 defenders in the box. The Auburn running game gashed Ole Miss for 326 yards, with over 200 coming in the first half. When Auburn threw the ball, they were carving up a secondary underneath. Numbers fell off a bit in the second half, as Auburn was content to just run the ball up the middle and use as much clock as possible, with the big lead.
A couple of Auburn offensive players this week really caught my eye. The first was running back Kerryon Johnson. Still hobbled a bit by a hamstring injury, Kerryon had a career day with 204 yards on the ground, and a couple of receptions for 23 yards. What doesn’t show on the stat sheet was some great blitz pickup on Johnson’s part, too. The first defender never gets Johnson down. Johnson can run over them, or around them, every time. Then, I have to tip my hat to Austin Golson on the line. He was playing left tackle at the start of this game, then had to move in to play left guard after Mike Horton was banged up. This season, Golson started at center, then moved to right tackle, then left tackle, and finished yesterday at guard. A lot of guys can’t even play one position on the line well. Golson has done it all! My favorite play that Golson had yesterday was on Ryan Davis’ 75 yard quick screen catch and run. At tackle, Golson was able to sprint all the way to the sideline and bury Davis’ defender on a reach block. That pass gains nothing if not for Golson.
Defensively, Auburn took a bit of a step back, against probably the best receiving corps the Tigers have seen this season. Ole Miss was able to protect quarterback Shea Patterson, and he methodically carved up the Auburn secondary, which had to make tackle after tackle. Ole Miss attempted 51 passes on the day, and Auburn managed 1 sack and 4 quarterback hurries. Where Ole Miss got nothing done was on the ground. Auburn held the Rebels to just 83 rushing yards.
Special teams highlights included 3 field goals in the second half, to account for all of Auburn’s scoring after halftime. Daniel Carlson because the all-time scoring leader in SEC history, passing Georgia’s Blair Walsh. Carlson still has at least 7 more games to pile on the points, too! Noah Igbinoghene had the first long kickoff return Auburn has managed in a while, starting the 3rd quarter with a big 70 yard return that got Auburn off to a good start.
Unit grades after the jump!
Defensive Line: B+. The highlight of line play in this game was the play of tackle Derrick Brown. Ole Miss had to double-team him, and even then they had had to roll the quarterback away from Brown, as he was really that disruptive. Brown had 6 tackles on the day, including 2 of Auburn’s total of 3 tackles for loss. The message, I think was for the line to slide and contain, and not allow Ole Miss to get around the corner, and for the most part, I think they were successful. The longest Ole Miss run of the day was 26 yards, and it came in the 4th quarter against the Auburn scout team. The defensive line contributed 15 total tackles.
Linebackers: A-. The Auburn linebackers continue to do a good job of filling lanes and hunting the football down. We got to see a bit of Tre’ Williams back in the game, which was good to see, as the unit soldiered on. Deshaun Davis tied for the lead in tackles with 7. Linebackers were credited with 27 total tackles.
Secondary: C+. The starters in this one played decently, the reserves, not so much. Last week, Auburn was breaking up lots of passes. This week, Nick Ruffin, Jamel Dean, Stephen Roberts and Carlton Davis had 1 pass breakup each. Ole Miss completed 34 passes in this game, which meant a lot of tackling work for the Tigers on the back end.
Punting: B. New punter Aidan Marshall punted 3 times for 41.0 yards, an average improvement of over 4 yards per punt against last week’s average. However, one touchback on a punt brought the net down to just 34 yards. Marshall hit the ball pretty high, and did not allow a punt return.
Punt Returns: B. On 6 Ole Miss punts, Stephen made 3 good fair catches, and returned a couple of them for 9 yards. Roberts took a vicious hit to the head on one return, but shook it off admirably. Roberts hasn’t broken anything big this year, but he has fielded most punts and prevented punters from piling up “rolling yardage.” Roberts is a key piece in the field position battle, thus far.
Kick Returns: A. Noah Igbinoghene has established himself as a serious threat in the return game, with 2 returns for 87 yards, including a 70-yarder to start the second half. I expect that we will see teams start to kick away from him, in the future.
Place Kicking: A+. Daniel Carlson hit all 3 of his field goal attempts, and all of his extra points. Carlson has not missed any extra points in his entire career. Carlson also boomed 7 of 9 kickoffs for touchbacks. On the season, Carlson has 37 touchbacks on 43 kickoffs.
Offensive Line: A. I felt like the line had improved dramatically in recent weeks in pass protection, but this week they took another step forward in terms of run-blocking. Even into the second team, this unit kept the Ole Miss line off Auburn runners. Kerryon Johnson averaged 7.2 yards per carry, Kam Martin averaged 5.6, Malik Willis 8.0, and Devan Barrett 5.0. And Eli Stove averaged 18 yards per carry on a couple of speed sweeps. That’s some good run-blocking, to compile those numbers.
Running Backs: A. With Kerryon Johnson getting healthier, numbers are trending up. Auburn piled up 326 rushing yards on the Rebels, and pretty much had their way on the line of scrimmage. With both running and passing games clicking, Auburn shapes up to be one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the SEC.
Receivers: A-. I counted off for a couple of dropped passes this week, but both drops were with the game well in hand. Yards per catch were down in this game, but that was by design on Ole Miss’ part. Six different receivers caught balls in this one.
Quarterback: A. The passing game wasn’t featured as much in this game, but Jarrett Stidham did hit 14 of 21 passes for 11.2 yards per pass. The torrid completion percentage of recent weeks was down a bit this week. Stidham’s average was hurt by a couple of dropped balls, and Stidham did throw a couple of balls away. That is the right thing to do, protecting a big lead. No turnovers for Stidham and the passing game, this week. Halfway through the regular season, Stidham has hit 99 of 139 passes, with 7 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. Stidham has 1345 passing yards, and is averaging 9.7 yards per pass.
I’ve seen some grumbling about Auburn giving up 23 points in this game, but I can’t be unhappy about a 3 touchdown blowout of Ole Miss. A few weeks ago, I was wondering how Auburn would get to 6 wins, and a bowl game. After a shaky, turnover-plagued homecoming, Auburn has beaten 3 SEC teams by the combined score of 144 to 47. These are good times!
Next week, I see a great effort on the way from LSU. They got waxed at Mississippi State, and beaten on homecoming by Troy. But, yesterday in Gainesville, they toughed out a win against the luckiest team in football. This gives the bayou Tigers hope for the future. Personally, I think they will find Auburn’s defense a big problem. LSU relies on a lot of pre-snap shifting and motion. Auburn has seen a good bit of that already, and hasn’t seemed fazed. If Auburn can avoid turnovers and give a good effort, I think the crowd can be quieted, and a successful day can be had in Baton Rouge.

2016 was EMU’s best football season since the 1980s, and 2017 could top it
How close are we getting to the Eagles’ ceiling?
This preview originally published March 27 and has since been updated.
Plenty of nerds have gotten into sports analytics with the thought of being able to expose everything that old-school coaches and analysts don't understand. Bill James found material for such a thing in baseball, and we've seen shifts in how basketball is played as the nerds have infiltrated the sport.
Football's trickier. As more granular sets of data — comprehensive charting data, player tracking data, etc. — become available, maybe we'll get closer to changing the game. But for now, especially from a projections standpoint, football still features plenty of mysteries.
Looking at the numbers, there was no reason to think Eastern Michigan had any hope of improving in 2016. The Eagles had been among the surest things in all of football, and for all the wrong reasons.
In a conference that features far more parity than most, EMU had only ranked higher than ninth in the MAC in S&P+ once between 2006 and 2015. In that span, they had finished with either one or two wins six times. Their offense oscillated between below average and awful; the defense was almost always awful.
That Chris Creighton took on the EMU job was admirable, if potentially foolish. The former Ottawa, Wabash, and Drake head coach had three times created something out of very little. He twice brought Ottawa to the NAIA playoffs, and he twice got Wabash to the Division III quarterfinals. He won at least eight games four times at Drake. His ability to craft solid teams in schools that weren’t going to feature standout talent was noteworthy.
Still, he was 3-21 in his first two years at EMU. He had taken over for Ron English, and while he had found a little offensive traction in 2015, his defense was the worst in FBS. EMU returned a decent level of production in 2016, but ... it was production from a bad team.
The only reason for hope in 2016 was the mythical third-year leap.
If something big is going to happen, the odds are good that it will have happened by the end of a head coach's third year on the job.
Since 2006, 46 teams have improved by at least 14 adjusted points per game (per S&P+) from one year to the next. That's about four to five big leaps per season for the entire country. From this group of 46, 36 were led by coaches that were either in their first (10), second (13), or third (13) years.
Quite often, we don't see third-year magic coming.
If experience and depth are keys to the third-year jump, EMU will have a lot. The Eagles return their starting quarterback, an explosive sophomore running back, four of their top six receiving targets, and every offensive lineman, and they are loaded with juniors and seniors at every level of the defense.
You can learn most of what you need about a football team by looking at recent history, returning production, and recruiting. Those are the factors involved in my S&P+ projections, and they can hone in on how a team is going to perform. But those good-old, intangible qualities like “culture” and “chemistry” still matter. And the margins between success and failure — when you’ve got 11 players on the field, and your guys have about the same size and athletic qualities as your opponent’s — are minuscule.
So third-year leaps sometimes happen. And one definitely took place in Ypsilanti. In terms of adjusted points per game, the defense improved by eight points, the offense by 5.5. A team that had managed to play in (and lose) two one-possession games in 2015, played in seven in 2016 and won five.
EMU wasn’t great, but the Eagles looked like a real FBS program. They ranked 82nd in S&P+, ahead of power conference bowl teams like Boston College and Maryland. They beat a Wyoming that nearly won the Mountain West. They beat MAC bowl teams Ohio and Central Michigan. They beat teams, period. After going 7-41 from 2012-15, they went 7-6.
And they did it with a team young enough to return almost everybody. The offensive line has some restructuring to do, but the quarterback and skill guys are back, as are nine defensive starters.
After years of finding out EMU’s floor was lower than any FBS program’s should be, we might now find out something else: the Eagles’ ceiling.
2016 in review
2016 EMU statistical profile.
EMU was one of the least volatile teams in the country. The Eagles did have a peak (Wyoming) and a couple of valleys (Missouri, Miami (Ohio)), but in nine of 13 games, they played between the 34th and 59th percentiles. And their opponent-adjusted averages were about the same against better teams as they were against worse teams.
EMU vs. S&P+ top 75 (1-4) — Avg. percentile performance: 39% (~top 80) | Avg. yards per play: Opp 6.6, EMU 5.6
EMU vs. No. 76-plus (6-2) — Avg. percentile performance: 44% (~top 70) | Avg. yards per play: EMU 6.1, Opp 5.4
Volatility is often a sign of youth, of a team honing in on its upside. Perhaps the fact that EMU established stability with few senior starters is a sign that the Eagles were already close to their upside. Still, this level of maturity, despite a midseason quarterback change and an injury to 2015’s best offensive player, was striking.
Offense
Full advanced stats glossary.
Plans change quickly. EMU headed into 2016 with an exciting backfield of quarterback Brogan Roback and running back Shaq Vann. Roback, a former star recruit, had thrown for 2,300 yards in 2015 while Vann had a freshman season with 850 combined rushing and receiving yards.
Roback got himself suspended for a violation of team rules in August and missed the first two games. Vann rushed for 156 yards in the season opener against Mississippi Valley State but was lost for the season with injury in Week 2.
In Roback’s absence, junior college transfer Todd Porter thrived, throwing for 458 yards against MVSU and Missouri. He played well against Charlotte, but threw four picks against Wyoming. Roback subbed in and led the Eagles on a game-winning drive. The two split time against BGSU the next week, and Porter didn’t throw a pass the rest of the year.
Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports
Brogan Roback
That EMU was equipped to handle uncertainty at QB and injury at running back was impressive. But Roback’s return — and his ability to avoid picks (seven in 372 passes compared to Porter’s nine in 142) — sparked an efficiency boom. EMU ranked 30th in passing success rate and sixth in Adj. Sack Rate. The Eagles also ranked 35th in stuff rate (runs tops at or behind the line). Maybe their biggest offensive strength was the ability to avoid moving backward.
We’ll learn how much of that strength had to do with the line. All-conference tackles Cole Gardner and Andrew Wylie are gone, as are center Jake Hurcombe and part-time starting guard Darien Terrell. Three players with starting experience return, including junior guard Jimmy leatiota, but if the Eagles suffer more glitches up front, the efficiency could falter.
Luckily, EMU will get its big-play guys back. Vann rushed for 129 yards in the Eagles’ randomly awesome 2015 win at Wyoming, and he was averaging 6.4 yards per play for the season until a couple of late-season duds.
In Vann’s 2016 absence, a couple explosive weapons emerged. Three-star sophomore Breck Turner had moments — three carries for 50 yards against Wyoming, 17 for 107 against BGSU, eight for 48 against Old Dominion — and receiver Dieuly Aristilde came out of nowhere to become a major option. After recording one catch for 20 yards in the first eight games, he caught 24 for 472 over the final five.
Vann’s return could change Ian Eriksen’s role. Eriksen became EMU’s go-to rusher, falling forward for three to five yards at a time. Vann has more upside, but Eriksen offers stability, as do receivers Sergio Bailey II and Antoine Porter, who combined for a 54 percent success rate over 13 targets per game. Big senior Johnnie Niupalau had a 57 percent success rate as well.
With Roback distributing the ball to diverse weapons, EMU could be poised to improve on its No. 58 ranking in Off. S&P+. Hell, if Aristilde’s breakout was a sign of things to come, this could be a top-30 offense. But it all depends on that line.

Defense
It’s all about expectations. When Neal Neathery’s 2015 UTSA defense ranked 104th in Def. S&P+, it was a disappointment. After ranking 61st and 53rd over the previous two years, Neathery couldn’t engineer attacking quality with a new batch of Roadrunner starters.
Neathery’s 2016 EMU defense ranked 102nd. And it was a thrill.
Neathery was Creighton’s coordinator at Drake, and the duo were reunited in Ypsilanti last fall. Neathery probably didn’t get to be as aggressive as he wanted to be, but he crafted a defense that was excellent at big-play prevention. EMU allowed just 49 rushes over 10-plus yards, 12th in FBS, and allowed a decent 12.4 yards per completion.
Granted, efficiency was a problem. The Eagles allowed the worst success rate in the MAC.
Still, simply being good at anything was a step forward. EMU’s offense and decent special teams unit helped to create solid field position for the defense. And the defense was mostly able to force opponents to work methodically down the field.
From a havoc standpoint, it’s a good news, bad news situation in 2017. EMU boasted an excellent pass rusher in Pat O’Connor (14.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks), which was key to getting off the field on passing downs. He’s gone. So is corner DaQuan Pace, by far last year’s most disruptive corner.
In Anthony Brown, though, Neathery might have the kind of disruptive safety he didn’t last year. Brown combined 7.5 TFLs with five passes defensed in 2015 before missing last season, and he joins what could be a hell of a set of safeties. Seniors Jason Beck and Ikie Calderon and sophomore Vince Calhoun have quite a bit to offer there. And last year’s No. 2 and 3 corners, sophomores Kevin McGill and Jalen Phelps, still have room to grow. Three-star JUCO transfer Shaq Jones might be able to help, too.
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports
Ikie Calderon
In theory, the pass rush could still have some oomph; ends Jeremiah Harris and Maxx Crosby also combined for 14.5 TFLs and 5.5 sacks, and redshirt freshman Justice Williams was a three-star recruit.
Neathery’s 4-2-5 defense is best when the line can generate disruption without help from the linebackers — whose isn’t? — and EMU linebackers only combined for 8.5 tackles for loss last year. If that number goes up, that might not necessarily be a good thing.
Special Teams
EMU didn’t get much out of its return game but still ranked a decent 65th in Special Teams S&P+ because of two legs: Austin Barnes’ and Paul Fricano’s. Barnes averaged 43.5 yards per punt with 27 of 63 boots landing inside the 20; Fricano was automatic on place-kicks inside of 40 yards and decent outside of 40.
Both return in 2017 [update: actually, Barnes has transferred to ECU]. A little bit more damage in the return game, and EMU will have a downright decent special teams unit.

The gold standard for EMU at the FBS level is 1987. That year, a bruising run game — Gary Patton, Bob Foster, and quarterback Ron Adams combined for 2,200 yards — and solid defense led to a 9-2 finish and California Bowl bid. Once there, the 17-point underdog Hurons took down San Jose State via a late 32-yard pass from Adams to Craig Ostrander.
It was EMU’s only bowl win and one of only two bowl appearances. Granted, with today’s bowl proliferation, Jim Harkema’s 1980s teams would have reached more than one — they had a winning record every year from 1986-89 — but still, this this program has struggled to generate traction through the years.
If it’s ever going to happen, though, why wouldn’t it happen now?
Yes, EMU has some questions on the lines. Yes, the Eagles were iffy defensively. Yes, they may have already come pretty close to their ceiling. But what about this team suggests it won’t be EMU’s best since the 1980s?
Those anti-social stats have an answer to that question, and it’s basically: “Because they’re EMU.” The Eagles still have little recent success to fall back on, and while Creighton has put exciting players on the field, recruiting rankings aren’t the Eagles’ friend.
Sometimes it takes projections a while to catch up, though. EMU was projected dead last in FBS last year but clicked. I’m not going to go crazy and predict EMU to win the MAC, but the Eagles have an excellent chance of exceeding their No. 96 projection.
Still, the schedule is a bit of a buzzkill. EMU must play at Rutgers, Kentucky, Toledo, Army, NIU, CMU, and Miami (Ohio), i.e. five bowl teams, four potential top-half-of-the-MAC teams, and two power conference squads. Nine of 12 games have a win probability between 39 and 60 percent, and EMU will probably have to win at least five of them to bowl again.
I bet it happens. I find myself semi-confident in an Eastern Michigan team. This is a strange world sometimes.

Hull City have lost just one of their four previous home Premier League games against Liverpool, winning the last two (W2 D1 L1).
Earlier this season, Liverpool beat the Tigers 5-1 at Anfield, with James Milner scoring twice from the spot.
James Milner has been directly involved in six goals in his last six Premier League games against Hull City (five goals, one assist).
Hull City are the only side yet to keep a clean sheet at home in the Premier League this season, conceding in all 11 games at the KCOM Stadium.
Liverpool, without a win in four, are on their longest Premier League winless run since September 2015 under Brendan Rodgers (also a run of four). They last endured a longer run in September 2012, a run of six games without a victory.
Jurgen Klopp is on his longest run without a win in league matches since February 2015 when he was manager of Borussia Dortmund (a run of five).
James Milner has converted three away penalties for Liverpool in the Premier League this season – only Steven Gerrard (8) in 2013/14 has scored more in a season for the Reds.
Hull’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United on Wednesday saw them keep only the second clean sheet of the Premier League season – a joint-league-low with Crystal Palace.
Only Sunderland (144) have allowed their opponents more shots on target this season than Hull City (138) Liverpool have attempted more shots on target (143) and scored more goals (52) than any other Premier League team this season.
Hull City have won more points in their three Premier League games under Marco Silva (4) than they did in their final nine games under Mike Phelan (3).

Cage Match: Vincent Trocheck vs. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
This week's Cage Match compares two second-line centers on struggling teams
With center being the deepest position in fantasy hockey, when poolies hear “second line center” let’s just say the first thing that comes to mind isn’t high expectations. But this week’s battle is between two pivots – Vincent Trocheck and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins – producing better than projected for 2017-18 despite being second bananas on their teams. Can one or both sustain (or even improve upon) their current scoring paces, and what do their futures hold? Let’s find out – Cage Match starts now!
Career Path and Contract Status
Trocheck, 24, was drafted 64th overall in 2011, and saw his production increase in each of his junior seasons, with his 109 points leading the OHL in scoring for 2012-13. After 42 points in 55 AHL games in 2013-14 and eight points in 20 games for Florida, most poolies figured he’d earned his NHL spot. But that wasn’t to be – not yet at least, as he was ticketed back to the AHL for 23 games, where he shined (19 points) and then once again had decent but not eye-opening NHL output (22 points in 50 games). Still, with nothing left to prove in the AHL, Trocheck logged a full campaign with Florida in 2015-16, posting 53 points in 76 games. He followed that with similar output last season (54 points in 82 games), giving the team solid scoring for their second line.
Nugent-Hopkins (“RNH”), also 24, was picked first overall in the same 2011 draft, and his 52 points in 62 games that season tied for the 8th best points per game output of any forward who played in 60+ contests as a rookie since 2000-01. Unfortunately, in his next two full seasons he played in 14 and 18 more games, yet only managed four more points (56) each campaign. After an injury-plagued 2015-16 (33 points in 56 games) RNH cratered to 43 points in 82 games last season, leaving poolies to wonder if he was even still fantasy-worthy on a squad that had Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, plus added Ryan Strome in the offseason.
Trocheck’s contract runs through 2021-22 and carries a $4.75M annual cap hit, while RNH’s deal is more expensive ($6M per season) but ends a year earlier.

For RNH, it’s a gloomy picture. First came two seasons of declining overall and PP ice times, and now we see data for 2017-18 that’s nearly identical to last season. Thus, unless he was unsustainably unlucky during 2016-17, his improved 2017-18 scoring might just be a temporary mirage.
On the other hand, Trocheck’s non-SH ice time numbers have risen with each passing season and are up yet again for 2017-18. And unlike RNH, we see a logical explanation for at least some of Trocheck’s production jump this season, as his PP time is up considerably along with his PP usage, which has risen from 49% to 65%. How is it that he’s seeing only the fourth most PP time among team forwards yet his PP time is up so dramatically? Two reasons – first, new coach Bob Boughner leans more on a true PP1 than the previous regime, plus Florida runs a first unit with four forwards.
Although I never like to make predictions based solely on ice time, this might be a lopsided match in favor of Trocheck. But matches can turn out closer than they first appear, so let’s see what the rest of the data says. Plus, if nothing else, it can give us insight we can use not just for these players but perhaps others as well.

Frankly, I was expecting much worse SOG and PPPt numbers for RNH last season, yet his SOG rate was barely 10% less than in 2014-15 when he tallied 56 points, and his PP scoring was also only a tad lower. One way to better assess his 2015-16 data is via past comparables, which here means forwards who, like RNH in 2016-17, scored under 45 points in a season where they had 200+ SOG and 11+ PPPts in 75+ games. It turns out since 2006-07, there’ve been 24 other instances of forwards who fit all four criteria. Although several on the list had at least one 75+ point season in their career (Joe Pavelski, Brian Rolston, Todd Bertuzzi, Paul Kariya, Ryan Kesler, Daniel Sedin), in each case the campaign in which they met the four criteria either was within their first two in the NHL (Pavelski) or when they were age 29+ (the other listed five). Not good news for RNH, who achieved this “feat” in his fifth season at age 23.
There is consolation in that a number of others on the list did manage 60+ points at least once in their career; however, several were/are much higher volume shooters that RNH (Nazem Kadri, Bill Guerin, Radim Vrbata), one (Mike Knuble) reached 60 due to riding coattails of highly skilled linemates, and arguably only one (Tomas Plekanec) is even somewhat comparable to RNH, yet in his case he reached 60+ when he was more of a first line center. Long story short, these comparables do not bode well for RNH becoming a 60+ point player this season or perhaps even down the road.
Speaking of Kesler, we can see why some are anointing Trocheck the next Kesler due to his multi-cat stat stuffing. In fact, last season Trocheck became the only NHLer other than Kesler since 2006-07 to post, in the same season, 50+ Blocks, 150+ Hits, 500+ FOW, all while averaging 2.75+ SOG per game. In terms of scoring metrics, however, we don’t quite see the jumps in SOG and PPPts thus far for 2017-18 that would explain Trocheck – who’s let’s not forget has never even scored 55 points in a season – now being a nearly point-per-game player, so we’ll have to be on the lookout for unsustainable luck metrics, which we’ll check for next.

For RNH, the good news is last season he had solid metrics, suggesting he did the best he could under the circumstances, which, according to Frozen Pool, was mainly with slumping linemates Jordan Eberle and Milan Lucic. As for 2017-18, his OZ% is up, but not in uncharted territory, and his IPP is comparable to last year; however, secondary assists number is sky high and likely unsustainable. Overall, RNH is likely scoring at a slightly unsustainably high rate for this season, unless somehow he was to get onto the all-important Edmonton PP1, which seems like a longshot given the team’s other options.
For Trocheck, he’s producing this well despite a very low OZ%, which on the one hand is impressive yet on the other seems unsustainable. Beyond that, his IPP is below the 70% threshold for the third time in his three seasons and his secondary assists number is up for the third season in a row. Overall, this is the portrait of a player whose SOG and PP increases are sustainable, but with luck metrics indicting he cannot maintain his early-season torrid scoring pace, which likely explains why he’s already come back to earth somewhat (with just two points in his last five games) to fall below point-per-game scoring.
Who Wins?
I figured there’d be all sorts of signs that Trocheck’s early-season pace for 2017-18 was a mirage, yet I’d say he’s only mildly overachieving. With his SOG rate and PP1 spot, plus decent IPP and history of solid team shooting percentage, I think he’s likely a 65-70 point player.
How do I see Trocheck achieving that pace, which is above Kesler’s, when their roles are so similar? I think it boils down to differences in age, plus the fact that Trocheck is more of a driver of offense while on the ice, as manifested in his team shooting percentage running above the 8.5 in this season plus two of the last three, whereas Kesler’s hasn’t been higher than 7.57% since coming to Anaheim.
As for RNH, last season’s metrics show he still has talent, and it’s shining through more this season. With more regular minutes (especially on the PP) and upgraded linemates he could stand a chance at 60 points, although anything more would be a stretch. And even 60 isn’t guaranteed by any means, with the reality of his current circumstances, not to mention him never actually tallying more than 56 points in a season thus far.
Trocheck wins, by a landslide. Even still, I view him as a sell-high candidate in points-only leagues. If you have him in a kitchen sink category league though, sit back and prepared to be a very happy camper for years to come. RNH might be a soft-buy candidate, as his value stayed artificially high for so long due to being a former #1 overall pick that, if anything, he’s now viewed too negatively by poolies due to that same label.

2016 was EMU’s best football season since the 1980s, and 2017 could top it
How close are we getting to the Eagles’ ceiling?
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports
Ian Eriksen
Both return in 2017.

Second Half
Min Event -1 Subs: Rooney comes on at halftime for Micheal Carrick 45 Kickoff: Micheal Oliver restarts the game. 48 Origi shot: Origi trying the Origi special, Left flank, bring it on right foot. Shot gets deflected goes for a corner. Foul in the box, freekick to Man U. 55 Chance for Manc: breeeeathe deep my fellow reds Arnold gets caught, Man U on the counter and Mhiky is free and 1 on 1 with Mignolet. Mignolet comes out and makes himself free but the cross is poor and its cleared for a corner. Mignolet puts his fist to it and sends the corner flying back up the pitch. 57 Chance for Manc Origi gets tackled and Mancs put the foot down and Rooney races into the box, but the cross(Shot?) is straight at Mignolet. 60 Sub Phillipe Coutinho on, Divock Origi off. 61 Chance for Liverpool Coutinho has the ball ont he left flank already, he cuts inside, planning for a worldie? Manc defense sees it and close him down, but they don't see Firmino galloping behind and Coutinho's pass gets him into space, however the angle is tight and De Gea parries it. 63 Chance for Liverpool Not really a chance. Just wanted to mentioned Arnolds pass. It was just a great switch of flank ball by Arnold that goes straight to Coutinho who has alot of space. He cuts inside but it's blocked. Great ball from the youngster. 65 Sub Juan Mata on, Anthony Martial off. 66 Chance for Liverpool Coutinho battles his way into the box, walking through a bunch of mancs. The ball deflects out to Lallana who takes a snap shot however De Gea saves. 70 Foul by Rooney: Yellow? Ref? Milner laying on the ground after a bad challenge by Wayne Rooney. Looks like he is alright.
