Mouthwashing bird list! Possible spoilers below
Curly-Golden Eagle
Hes this symbol of hope, something to be jealous of, to look up to and something powerful and majestic, but is also a predator. You just don't think about it.
Anya-Groove Billed Ani
A member of the cuckoo family, and also a bird that removes parasites/bugs from other larger animals(to eat obviously but ya know) so there’s that aspect of caring for others, plus the way Jimmy sees her as lesser ‘cuckoo’ and the way she isn’t believed. Also just a cool bird that looks like her.
Swansea- Chinese Goose
A swan was too easy, but I wanted to do something similar. Geese are tough and grumpy and hefty and it just kind of looks like him lol, but they’re also protective over their young. As well as a domestic/farm animal being raised for something(meat or eggs in this case I believe? But also some people use these geese as sort of guard geese lol) I feel like it relates back to him and his work ethic and purpose (or lack thereof) in life.
Daisuke- Great Crested Grebe
Okay it just looks like him like come on. But also I wanted the waterfowl to go alongside Swansea due to their relationship. They also look a bit silly but they’re capable from a young age, plus I’m sure there could be something said about their courtship rituals, it’s tiny but relating it to his line about babes lol.
Jimmy-Brown Jay
Something unremarkable. A member of the corvid family, so clever or seen to be clever. A pest. It’s Jimmy he sucks no offense to the bird I chose.

I saw a post complaining about musical Dimitri so I want to know what is your favourite things about him in the musical?
sigh... musical dmitry... giggling kicking my feet twirling my hair thinking about him. i'm always daydreaming about him. if you saw me on the street irl i almost guarantee you'd catch me lost in some variation of musical dmitry thoughts.
there are so many things i could say here, anon. his redemption arc™ from a selfish liar to the most noble and self-sacrificing slavic sadboy i've ever seen? his angsty daddy issues backstory? his bewitching silly goose ways? how he lets One Woman completely change the trajectory of his life? how he falls into an emotional spiral about it? the way he Knows Who He Is and is very self assured in his identity, and helps anya do the same? how his identity is so intertwined with his home? his role as a Storyteller™? etc????
but for this ask today i'm going to focus on how gentle he is. i don't think gentleness is something that comes very easy to this dmitry. he lost his father at a young age, as we know. he was alone on the streets and had to fight to stay alive. he cons people for a living. by the time we meet him he's very cynical about the world and doesn't really trust anyone, other than vlad. mostly he just relies on himself and can't really count on anyone else. when he meets anya, a cryptic girl who is a bit off but in need of help, his first response is to scoff and send her away, since unstable people are too risky to deal with. he's capable of being charming, but he uses this skill to get what he wants.
a lesser character with an identical backstory would be gruff and unfeeling, but... this dmitry isn't. in spite of it all, he's so hopeful, though he buries it deep. his most treasured story is about a girl he met at a parade. he is known as the 'prince of petersburg,' has a relationship with everyone on the streets. in the hartford production he calls an older woman in the ensemble 'little mother.' he rescues vlad, a complete stranger, from a firing squad. and though he turns her down at first, he agrees to get anya to paris. he protects what's his own.
you can tell it takes him a while to learn gentleness. whether it's physical or verbal, especially around anya, he is still always on the defensive for a while. fight first, think later. she's really jumpy and skittish but he doesn't start changing his behavior until they fight the ruffians together. he flags all of his movements around her, making sure she knows his intentions first. he talks about his father. he gives her a music box because he thinks it'll make her smile. because she 'earned it.' when she's crying after a nightmare he tells her a sweet, simple story from his childhood.
the train scene is the best example of this shift-- when she cowers after the gunshot goes off, he is completely lost about what to do. 'calm her down,' vlad tells him, but how is he supposed to do that? she's sobbing into his shoulder and he's frozen, panicking, because what is he supposed to do here??? but he shushes her and holds her anyway. he does his best. and it works. in such a tense situation where they very well could be shot next he is so so gentle and patient with her. and by the time we reach iacot in paris, he knows exactly how to comfort her. he learned how to hold her gently and speak in a soft voice. how softness can ground someone in need.
to summarize: musical dmitry is... really soft? and softness/gentleness isn't really something you see in the conman archetype very often. he is so special.

Why the hate for buffy s6? Its gotta be one of the best written and ambitious seasons of the show
What really drew me to this show in the first place was how campy and fun and goofy it was. Like I LOVED season 1 and most people only like that season for nostalgia. But season 6 was lacking in the silly goose department. And despite those reasons, what I truly don’t like about season 6 is it made me dislike many main characters like Willow, Xander, Anya, Giles, and even Dawn in some parts. I love Buffy so much and her character means so much to me and I hated seeing her in pain and her loved ones barely helping and just making things worse. This might be a flawed take… but in my opinion, Buffy is perfect. I love her so much and for her to receive so much crap in one season really hurt my heart. I also HATED the main villain of the season being a bunch of incels. It was gross watching them.

A Cord of Three Strands (Is Not Quickly Broken)
Part One Part Two Part Three Part 4
PART 5-EVGENI
((Unfortunately i can’t include the hyperlink to skip the smut if one so chooses, SO you scroll from “ The number of times he has dreamed of this scenario is ridiculous and embarrassing” to “After they’ve cleaned up, put on some semblance of pajamas, and have tucked themselves into bed”. ENJOY!!!))
He should be used to this by now, Evgeni thinks, watching Sid glare groggily at the coffee maker as it fills the carafe. Sid’s been in Moscow for more than a week; Evgeni shouldn’t be surprised every morning he finds Sid in the kitchen before him and Anya. He shouldn’t be melting into a puddle each time Nikita gravitates into Sid’s lap. He knew going into this when he agreed with Anya that he’d give himself the chance to let his feelings for Sid- be on the front burner, so to speak.
But he’d spent so long keeping them on the back burner that he’s not entirely sure what to do now that he has permission- from Anya, and from himself- to act on those feelings. He doesn’t know how to talk to Sid about it all; hell, he’s not sure how to talk to himself about any of it.
“Good morning, Geno,” Sid yawns. Evgeni almost hates how he doesn’t hate Sid’s accent, how he rounds out the vowels, how he still pronounces every syllable.
“Morning,” he grunts. He doesn’t wrap his arms around Sid’s midsection like he wants to, doesn’t kiss his cheek and rest his chin on the top of his growing mop of curls. Instead, he leans back against the island across from him, head bowed, and eyes closed, trying to get a few more minutes of rest before he really has to be awake.
“You’ve been doing this for how many years now and you’re still not a morning person?”
Evgeni lifts his head, his breath catching at how…fond the smile Sid’s giving him is. “Yeah, well-“ he clears his throat, feeling the blood rush to his face. “Old dog, bad tricks?”
Sidney tips his head back and laughs, his beautiful, honking laugh that makes him sound like a goose, and Evgeni can’t help but stare at him: the little wrinkles at the corners of his eyes, the way his mouth stretches over his teeth, how the tilt of his head seems to elongate his neck and make Evgeni want to lick and bite every square inch.
“I’d try to correct you with the right wording, but I have a feeling you said it wrong on purpose.” Sid’s grin is blinding, too bright for how early it is.
Evgeni tilts his head a little. “Don’t know what you’re talking about.” He grins, more of a bearing of teeth than a display of joy. “Bad English.”
Sid lets out the goose laugh again. Evgeni likes how pink his face gets and makes a silent bet with himself to see how many times he can pull that laugh out of him during his visit.
X
Evgeni will never be over how exhilarating it is to be on the ice with Sid. He’s always felt at home in a rink, with skates on his feet and a stick in his hands, but with Sid- well. He feels like they were destined to share sixty-one meters of ice.
“What’d you have to do to finally get him here, huh?” Kadarov mutters, smirking a little. “Sign away your life to the NHL?”
“He’s just getting over a tough breakup. Besides,” Evgeni says distractedly, watching Sid familiarize himself with the rink, bigger than he’s used to. “I already promised him ‘Penguins forever’.”
Evgeni freezes, and from the corner of his eyes he can see Kadarov shaking violently. “Mikhail,” he starts, but Kadarov cuts him off, waving his left hand erratically. “It’s fine,” he says, voice high-pitched. A giggle lets itself loose and Kadarov doubles over to brace himself with the wall.
“What are you laughing for?” Evgeni hisses, cold with fear. “This isn’t a laughing matter, what the fuck?” He sees Sid skating over, looking concerned, and tries to swallow his panic.
“Everything okay over here?” Sid looks between Evgeni and Kadarov, confused and lips twitching, like he thinks he should be laughing too.
“Told Kadar joke,” Evgeni lies. “Is terrible joke, think his brain is broken.”
Sid nods slowly, the space between his eyebrows wrinkling slightly. “Okay. Uh,” his gaze slides over to Kadarov, who is no longer under threat of death by laughter, but is still chuckling to himself and shaking his head. Sid blinks and looks back to Evgeni, confused, and a little lost.
“How do you like ice?” Evgeni tilts his chin up toward the rink. “Feels okay?”
Sid looks over his shoulder, the left corner of his mouth ticking up. “Yeah,” he says. “It’ll definitely be a bit of an adjustment, but nothing I can’t handle, ya know?”
“Of course,” Evgeni sticks the tip of his tongue between his teeth, biting down gently, privately drooling over the color that flushes high on Sid’s cheekbones. “Sidney Crosby can handle anything.”
X
He’s still thinking about that blush when Anya accosts him late that night, cornering him in front of the large double sink in the bathroom. Her eyes are wide, her brows furrowed, her bottom lip red like she’s been biting it viciously. “Zhenya,” she says, the hem of her shirt gathered between her clenched fists. “I need to tell you something.”
Evgeni turns off the faucet and rubs his hands dry on his jeans. “Is it something I need to be worried about?”
Anya scrunches her face up, the space between her eyebrows closing. “I don’t think- I don’t know.” She sighs, folding her arms over her chest. “Maybe.” Anya purses her lips and pivots on her heel to march through to the bedroom, where she begins pacing at the foot of their bed. She stops suddenly, facing Evgeni. She gives a trembling exhale and just- falls backward onto the bed, arms spread out perpendicular. Evgeni almost wants to laugh, but he knows if he did Anya wouldn’t talk about what’s bothering her, so he keeps his mouth shut and sits down next to her legs.
Anya presses the heels of her palms against her eyes, groaning. “I don’t know how to tell you,” she admits. “It’s nothing bad, I swear, and it’s so stupid, Zhenya, god!”
“Hey,” Evgeni interjects. “Careful now, that’s my wife you’re talking about.”
Anya lifts her hands to make a show of rolling her eyes. Evgeni raises an eyebrow and she sighs. “Fine,” she relents. “So it’s not stupid. But it’s-“ she makes a face. “Immature, I guess?” the corner of her mouth ticks up, and she looks a little to the left of Evgeni’s head. “It feels like I’m a schoolgirl again, getting a silly crush.” The nostalgic, far-off look in her eyes disappears as she makes eye contact with Evgeni. “Or it would,” she continues regretfully. “If it didn’t also feel like I was betraying your trust.”
Evgeni tries not to get stuck on the first thought that pops into his head, but he can feel panic start to cling to the edges of his consciousness as he mentally goes through recent interactions Anya’s had with any male coworkers or friends. He starts second-guessing everything in the span of a half-second, and if his mom hadn’t brought out his baby pictures after Nikita was born, he would be doubting that too, but-
“I think I’m falling in love with Sidney.”
A split second of nothing.
A train braking too hard, too soon; the wheels sparking against the rails.
He opens his mouth to speak, to ask when, and how, but what comes out is-
“That’s so fucking hot.”
“Zhenya!” Anya snaps, springing into a sitting position, face flushed. “What the fuck, Zhenya, that is not-“
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” he yelps. “That’s not what I wanted to say, I’m sorry, that was incredibly inappropriate, I’m so sorry, sweetheart, I won’t- I swear to God, Anya-“
“I mean,” She makes a face, half apologetic. “You’re not wrong.”
He’s dying. He’s dead, and he’s in heaven, because he’s under the same roof as the two loves of his life and the one he’s married to is both okay with him being with the other one and that she wants to be with him too. (The number of times he has dreamed of this scenario is ridiculous and embarrassing.)
Anya must be able to tell what train of thought his mind is going down because she blinks, eyes wide, then folds her legs under her and smirks. “You like that,” she hums. “Me, with Sidney.” She caresses the edge of his jaw with her knuckles. There’s a flicker of uncertainty in her eyes so Evgeni leans into it, closing his eyes and exhaling over her wrist. Anya kisses his cheek, dragging them up to his temple. “How many times have you imagined it? Be honest.”
“So many,” he breathes. He tries to tilt his head back to kiss her properly, but she halts him with her thumb over his lips and the rest of her hand cupping his chin.
“Were you watching?” She asks lightly. “Or were you with us, participating, touching us both?”
“Both,” he rasps, and she slides her thumb into his mouth, pressing against his tongue, keeping his mouth open.
Anya hums again and nips at the crest of his ear. “What does he do to me,” she asks, almost begging, but not quite. She straddles him, groaning as she rubs against the hard line of his dick, still trapped in his pants, her thumb slipping farther into his mouth as he gasps in return. “What does he do to you?” She slides her thumb out, dragging it down the center of his chin. Evgeni makes sure to look her in the eyes as he says, “Everything”.
It’s a race to see who can get their clothes off first, and Anya has the advantage of apparently not wearing underwear, so Evgeni is stuck at the end of the bed with his shirt off and pants around his knees while his wife is stretching out on top of the covers, the pillows like a halo around her dark hair.
His wife is hot and he’s a simple man; sue him.
“Zhenya,” her voice lilts, as she bends her knees, planting her feet flat on the duvet, and running her long fingers up her delicious thighs. He shoves his pants the rest of the way off and nearly breaks his nose on her kneecap in trying to get up to her fast enough. He’s about to kiss her when she stops him again, pushing him away with the tips of her fingers against his forehead. He’s man enough to admit that he whimpers.
“If you’re good,” she says, carding her beautiful fingers through his hair, pressing down at the back of his skull, guiding him to her chest. “Are you going to be good for me?”
“So good,” Evgeni breathes, and licks broadly over her left nipple.
Anya tugs on his hair lightly, not enough to hurt- not yet. “Tell me one of your fantasies,” she breathes. “I don’t care which one, just-“ her breath hitches Evgeni bites at the skin just below the nipple. Her eyelids flutter, as if she wants to keep watching him. “Make me come,” she orders.
Evgeni licks at her left nipple once more before kissing down the side and across to her right one, alternating between soft, barely-there brushes and open, wet things that barely quantify as a kiss.
He resists the urge to suck a hickey into the bottom of her breastbone.
He gives her right nipple the same treatment as the left: broad licks directly over, sharp bites underneath, all while his hands trace the skin around her ribcage.
“One of my favorites,” he murmurs, kissing a line down her torso, “starts just like this. I’m making you feel so good-“
“Could be- better,” Anya gasps, her stomach jumping under his hands and lips.
“And Sid knocks on the door. I tell him we’re busy, but he just knocks again, you know stubborn he gets.”
“Uh-hhh,” Anya whines, as Evgeni slips two fingers into the tight, wet heat of her cunt.
“So I tell him,” Evgeni mutters, licking slow, broad stripes between the lips of her labia. “I tell him that he either has to leave us alone or join us.” He spreads his fingers and starts to push them in and out, slow, but not gentle. “And he comes in, of course.”
“Sidnechka!” Anya cries out. Evgeni covers up his smirk by replacing his fingers with his tongue, moaning when his wife’s thighs close around his head like a vice (or a boa constrictor, catching its prey), her hand almost tight enough in his hair to pull it out.
“Is that what you call him,” he gasps when she lets him free, replacing his fingers and driving them in fast but shallow. “In your head, is that what you think of him? As your Sidnechka?”
Anya whines, her shoulders hunched forward, the shorter strands of her hair sticking to her face with sweat, her eyes wild.
“Do you want to hold him? Kiss him?” Evgeni partners a particularly sharp thrust with a slight pressure of his thumb to the side of her clitoris. “Do you want to put him on his knees?”
“Yes,” she sobs, her back bowing, right hand digging into his scalp and her left clenched in the sheets.
“You want him to make you feel good, make you come?”
“Yes!” Anya cries, so loud it’s almost a scream.
Evgeni lets her tug his head up, almost bringing his fingers out too until she clamps her thighs shut around his wrist. “Was I good for you, my love?” he murmurs.
“Just kiss me, you fucking idiot,” Anna pants, and- well. It’s certainly no hardship to obey his wife’s demand.
She keeps her hand in his hair, scratching her nails against his scalp soothingly, tugging sharply when she decides he’s having too much fun teasing her. “Make me come again,” she says. “And then fuck me.”
“With my fingers again? Or my mouth?”
She bites his lip, hard enough that it’s still stinging when she pushes him back down her body. “Both.”
He normally tries to spend as much time as possible eating her out, but he senses that she’s a little too impatient for that tonight, so he only spends a little time warming her pussy back up with his mouth before he starts back up a grueling pace with his fingers.
“So,” he says, biting a soft impression of his front teeth into the inside of her thigh. “I told you one of my fantasies.”
Anya hums, her eyes closed, her lips turned up.
“So it’s only fair if you tell me one of yours, right?”
“Is that- so,” Anya asks, her voice hitching in the middle.
“Oh yes,” Evgeni murmurs, curling the tips of his fingers.
“God,” Anya gasps. “I want his mouth on my tits.” She twists one of her nipples, as if to make a point.
“Yeah,” he hums, tonguing the side of her clit. “You want his mouth on your tits while I’m eating your cunt?”
“Oh, shit,” Anya whimpers, her fingers clenching deliciously tight in his hair. “Fuck, I want him eating my cunt.”
“Am I sucking your tits, then, in this hypothetical?”
“No,” Anya says, digging her nails into his scalp. “I’m sucking your dick.”
The vibrations from his moan push her over into her second orgasm, easier than the first. He kisses the crease between her thigh and groin as she comes down, one of his thumbs still moving up and down between her slick labia. He kisses his way up her body, ripping open a condom packet as he settles his forehead between the valley of her breasts.
“Would you want him to fuck you,” he murmurs, pushing himself up, putting his weight on his left forearm, sliding the condom on with his right hand.
Anya makes sure they’re holding eye contact when she says, “I want him to come in me and for you to eat me out after.”
Evgeni grips the base of his dick so tight it hurts to keep himself from coming. “Good God, woman,” he chokes.
“I have never gone easy on you,” Anya chuckles. “Why should this be any dif-“ she cuts herself off, gasping when Evgeni thrusts in. “Different,” she breathes, eyes slipping shut. She slips her hand from the top of his head to the nape of his neck, squeezing slightly, her thumb an insistent pressure at the hinge of his jaw. “I want to put him on his knees,” she murmurs, her knees squeezing his hips between them, telling him that he’s allowed to move. “I want to hold him while you fuck his face, when you fuck his ass. I want to show him how to fuck you best, to sit on his goddamn face and keep him there until he’s covered in my come.”
She keeps up a near-constant litany of words while he fucks into her, pausing only to breathe or order him around some more. It’s exhilarating, Evgeni thinks, one hand tight around the curve of Anya’s hip. Finally being able to talk about Sidney- what he wants to do to Sidney- and for her to snap back with her own fantasies? It’s a wonder he hasn’t come yet.
“I can’t wait to get my hands on his ass,” Anya groans, clenching her pussy down on his cock. Evgeni moves one of her legs from around his waist to up over his shoulder. “Fuck, Zhenya, as soon as you get your shit together, I want my hands on his ass.” Evgeni growls in response, snapping his hips faster. “Promise me, Zhenya,” Anya gasps insistently. “Promise you’ll let me, as much as I want.”
“I- promise,” Evgeni gasps, trembling, sweat dripping from the tip of his nose, as his muscles lock up. He’s careful to pull out slowly, and lets the bed catch him as he drops to Anya’s right.
“Fucking Christ,” he pants, chest heaving, blinking white spots from his vision. Anya only hums in response, her eyes closed and a smug grin on her face.
X
After they’ve cleaned up, put on some semblance of pajamas, and have tucked themselves into bed, Anya turns to him. “I know Sidney’s here for you,” she starts, her voice soft. “But I can’t help but feel like- like it’s meant to be all of us, you know?”
“He’s only here because of you,” Evgeni points out. “Because of your kind heart. You convinced me to ask him here, even though I know it hurt you in the process.”
She looks away but doesn’t deny it.
“You’re the one who convinced him to come here,” Evgeni continues. “Sidney Crosby, the most stubborn man I know.”
“It’s not like it was that hard to convince him anyway.” Anya rolls her eyes, but the way the tips of her ears pink up betrays her. “Besides,” she says, pulling Evgeni in for a kiss. “I have a feeling it’s going to be fairly easy from here on out.”

New from Kevin Wozniak on Kevflix: Most Anticipated Movies of 2020
Every year, hundreds of movie are released. From micro-budget indies to gigantic blockbusters, the year the full of movies of all kinds from all around the world. There are films that come out of nowhere (seriously, who saw Parasite being the movie of 2019?) which are always fun to see, and movies we have been hearing about for years finally being released. But of the ones that I know are coming out this year, these are the ones that I am most excited for.
And look, I know we’re already almost a quarter of the way through 2020, but let’s be real, there wasn’t a lot of exciting movies coming out in January and February anyway. The only films from the first couple months that would have made this list would have been Bad Boys for Life, and possibly The Invisible Man. However, starting in March, 2020 gets really exciting, so it seemed like the perfect time to do this list.
Here are my most anticipated movies coming out in 2020.
*NOTE* – I am excluding any film that I saw at Sundance 2020.
25. THE LAST DANCE (Jason Hehir, June 26)
Is it cheating to have ESPN’s 10-part docuseries about the Chicago Bulls during their historic 1997-1998 season on this list? Maybe. But as a life-long Bulls fan, I cannot wait to see the footage they show, the insight they get, and for them to show just insane and competitive Michael Jordan was. This should be a real treat to any sports fan.
24. VENOM 2 (Andy Serkis, October 2)
Venom was pretty silly, but rather fun and Tom Hardy’s performance was something special. The sequel brings in the great Woody Harrelson to play Cletus Kasady/Carnage and pits Andy Serkis behind the camera, which should add more chaos to an already wild film.
23. SOUL (Pete Docter, June 19)
Pixar has two original movies coming out this year, Onward and Soul. Of the two, I am more excited to see Soul, mainly because I think the story sounds more interesting – it’s about a musician who has lost his passion for music is transported out of his body and must find it back – and co-director Pete Docter has yet to have made a bad movie (his previous films include Monster’s Inc., Up, and Inside Out).
22. GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE (Jason Reitman, July 10)
Though I was a big fan of Paul Feig’s 2016 female-led reboot, bringing back most of the original cast (R.I.P. Harold Ramis) and adding Paul Rudd in the mix could make for a great summer flick.
21. THE ETERNALS (Chloé Zhao, November 6)
Black Widow is a near sure-thing for Marvel, but The Eternals, a relatively unknown part of Marvel with all new heroes and actors, will set the stage for the future of the MCU following the Endgame finale.
20. THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT (Michael Chaves, September 11)
I love the Conjuring franchise, particularly the Conjuring films, but with James Wan not behind the camera, I have my hesitations.
19. GODZILLA VS KONG (Adam Wingard, November 20)
This franchise might be incredibly stupid and all over the place, but being able to see King Kong and Godzilla duke it out on the big screen will be ridiculously fun.
18. COMING 2 AMERICA (Craig Brewer, December 18)
Between Dolemite is My Name and his hosting duties on Saturday Night Live, Eddie Murphy proved that even after a few missteps, he was still the man. Coming 2 America is the sequel I didn’t know I needed, as Murphy reprises his role as Akeem who finds out he has a long-lost son in the United States.
17. MULAN (Niki Caro, March 27)
Save for 2019’s The Lion King, I genuinely like the Disney live-action remakes. Mulan looks gorgeous and epic and given the PG-13 rating (the first of these movies), looks to be a bit more intense than the animated original.
16. NO TIME TO DIE (Cary Joji Fukunaga, November 25)
Usually I’d be more excited for a James Bond movie, but after the dud that was Spectre, I have my hesitations. Still, Daniel Craig is one of the best Bonds ever and Fukunaga is an interesting choice for director, so I’m at the very least intrigued.
15. A QUIET PLACE PART II (John Krasinski, March 20)
I LOVED the first film and thought John Krasinski showed a real talent behind the camera and really am excited to see what he does next in this world. However, I wish he had focused the movie on another family or person during this bizarre invasion/crises, but we’ll see where he takes this story.
14. LAST NIGHT IN SOHO (Edgar Wright, September 25)
Genre-maestro Edgar Wright dives back into the horror genre in a film about one girl’s mysterious journey into the 1960’s that isn’t what it seems. Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin McKenzie lead the cast.
13. THE SOUVENIR: PART II
Joanna Hogg’s The Souvenir, a powerful, beautiful look at love, trauma, and memory, was one of my favorite films of 2019 and a film I still think about to this day. I cannot wait to see what Hogg does with Part II, as this is one of my most anticipated sequels of the year.
12. MALIGNANT (James Wan, August 14)
The plot is unknown as of yet, but it’s an original James Wan horror movie and that is all I need to see this movie.
11. DUNE (Denis Villeneuve, December 18)
I love Denis Villeneuve as a director and am always excited for any project he is a part of. However, with such a big cast, budget, and the general idea of a Dune movie at this scale, is this going to be a “good” movie or just the “most” movie?
10. THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 (Aaron Sorkin, October 2)
Any Aaron Sorkin screenplay gets me excited. Even though it is the same in every movie, I am a sucker for the pacing and density of his words. With 2017’s Molly’s Game, Sorkin proved that we was great behind the camera as well. Having written A Few Good Men (one of the best courtroom dramas ever), The Trial of the Chicago 7 looks to be right up Sorkin’s alley, and with the likes of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eddie Redmayne, Jeremy Strong, Michael Keaton, Frank Langella, and Sacha Baron Cohen, and Mark Rylance reciting his dialog, this seems like it could be a Sorkin classic.
9. F9 (Justin Lin, May 22)
The Fast and Furious franchise is one of my favorites. It is an utterly insane franchise that features ridiculous stunts, gigantic set pieces, some racing, and the theme of family. I don’t know what F9 has in store for us except for Charlize Theron is back as our villain Cipher, John Cena is in the film as Dominic Toretto’s (Vin Diesel) brother, and Han (Sung Kang) is back some how. Whatever. I’m in.
8. NOMADLAND (Chloé Zhao, TBD)
The fact that we could get two films from the great Chloe Zhao in 2020 gives us a brief insight as to how great 2020 is going to be. Though Eternals will arguably be the movie that shapes the MCU for the next decade, I’m more looking forward to Zhao’s look at woman (two-time Oscar winner Francis McDormand) as she embarks across the American West after losing everything in the Great Recession.
7. THE FRENCH DISPATCH (Wes Anderson, July 24)
Wes Anderson is one of the best and most unique auteurs working today. All of his movies are wildly original, wonderfully written, gorgeous to look at, and feature a stellar cast and The French Dispatch looks to have all of that and then some.
6. TOP GUN: MAVERICK (Christopher McQuarrie, June 26)
Tom Cruise is one of my favorite actors and his partnership with writer/director Christopher McQuarrie has been one of his best career choices. Their latest collaboration pits Cruise back in the cockpit (literally) as he reprises his legendary role as Maverick in this sequel to the 80’s classic Top Gun. Val Kilmer returns as Iceman and we get a slew of new cast members such as Glen Powell, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, and Miles Teller as Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, the son of Maverick’s late-friend Goose. I’m most interested in the meta-narrative of the film, as Maverick’s career in the Navy seems to replicate Cruise’s as a movie-star, which has been a fascinating one.
5. WONDER WOMAN 1984 (Patty Jenkins, June 5)
Does the DCEU still exist? Who knows and honestly, who care? But back in 2017 when it was in full swing and doing miserably, Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins came and shook the game up. Wonder Woman is one of my favorite comic book movies ever It was a thrilling, funny, action-packed film that features one of the greatest superhero moments ever on camera with the “No Man’s Land” scene. There has only been one teaser for Wonder Woman 1984 and it already looks incredible. Gadot looks great, Chris Pine is back, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal are the villains, and every visual esthetic, from the costumes to the sets to the color pallet look great. Oh, and did I mention Wonder Woman swings from lightning bolts using her lasso? No? Well that, and I’m sure many more exciting moments like that are going to happen in my most anticipated comic book movie and sequel of 2020.
4. WEST SIDE STORY (Steven Spielberg, December 18)
This is the most interesting and weirdest film on the list, yet it is one I genuinely cannot wait to see. Everyone knows West Side Story, the legendary Romeo and Juliet reimagining about two lovers from rival gangs that won numerous awards for its stage play and ten Oscars when it was adapted to the big screen. The fact that this latest adaptation is directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Tony Kushner is what makes it intriguing. Spielberg has never made a musical and his films of late have been quieter, politically-focused films (save for The BFG and Ready Player One). How will he fare in an adaptation of one of the most beloved plays of all-time and one of the greatest cinematic musicals ever? Spielberg is a master director, so this is bound to be interesting.
3. DA 5 BLOODS (Spike Lee, TBD)
For a while there, I thought Spike Lee had lost it. Having not made a great movie since 2002’s 25th Hour, it looked like Lee had lost all of his creative spark, making some of the worst movies of his career. But with 2017’s BlackKklansman, writer/director Spike Lee proved that he still had the goods and that he was just as great as he was in 90’s. Da 5 Bloods, a title I love, Lee heads to the jungle of Vietnam, as veterans from the Vietnam War return to the jungle to find their lost innocence. Starring Chadwick Boseman, Paul Walter Hauser, and a slew of great character actors in Delroy Lindo, Isaiah Whitlock Jr., Clarke Peters, Giancarlo Esposito, and Jean Reno, let’s see is Lee can keep his streak alive.
2. MANK (David Fincher, TBD)
It’s been seven years since David Fincher directed a feature film. The Oscar-nominated director spend that back-half of the 2010’s focusing on producing Netflix shows like Mindhunter, House of Cards, and Love,Death, & Robots, so at least he was staying busy. Director’s latest cinematic venture follows screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz’s tumultuous development of Orson Welles’ iconic masterpiece Citizen Kane. The great Gary Oldman stars and Mankiewicz and Tom Burke, who gave one of the great breakout performances of 2019 in The Souvenir, stars as Welles in a performance I cannot wait to see. It’s one of my favorite directors making a movie about one of the greatest movies ever made. How can I not be excited?
1. TENET (Christopher Nolan, July 17)
Is Christopher Nolan the best director working today? There’s a strong case for it. After a decade that saw Nolan make films like Inception, Interstellar, and Dunkirk, he’s back with yet another original action epic. The plot of the film is unknown as of yet, but it has something to do with globe trotting espionage and time travel. The cast is Nolan’s most impressive since Inception, featuring spectacular actors such as John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh, and Nolan’s favorite, Michael Caine. Nobody makes movies like Christopher Nolan. Every film he makes is an event and in a year with no Star Wars and a mysterious Marvel slate, Tenet is the cinematic event of 2020 and the perfect way to start the decade.

Clara, the Clefable, gave a cheerful hello to AZ and his pokemon and led them all to their spots at the table, shooing Madame away from the food - wait for everyone else, silly goose!
There was the stereotypical spread with an Alolan influence - meats and fish, root vegetables, potatoes, stewed berries, dumplings, and of course, plenty of stuffing.
Melody had even left AZ his own special "chair" - an old, oversized beanbag. She hoped that would be suitable.
Melody brought the rest of the vegetables out and began serving the Pokemon with her mother before sitting back down.
"All right," Anya clasped her hands together and smiled warmly, "help yourselves!"
Food day Antics
@bug-captain-melody from here [X]
AZ watched the girl pet the Drampa, and smiled to himself. He followed along quietly, listening carefully.
When Daisy came to greet them, he nodded her way and helped Muguet detangle form his hair. She floated over to spin around with her. Another came from inside and she hurried over to say hello.
While she distracted them, AZ stiffened. He worried what the woman would say, until she did speak. “Uh.. Yes, Ma’am. My name is AZ. That’s Muguet.” He followed her around the house, and paused at the display of food. It had been quite a long time since he had seen that much food.
His floette trilled happily, and the drampa and golurk scooched around the corner behind him. From in Louthaire’s arms leapt Madame, flying directly to the table.
