Assam Chief Minister answers to Rahul Gandhi’s dynastic politics comment, compares Rajnath Singh’s son with Priyanka Gandhi
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reacted to Rahul Gandhi's statement of dynastic politics in BJP and said that defense minister Rajnath Singh's son who is just an MLA in Uttar Pradesh can be compared with Priyanka Gandhi when it comes to dynastic politics. He stated this as he answered Rahul Gandhi, giving examples of Dynastic Politics: Jay Shah, Anurag Thakur, and Pankaj Singh (Rajnath Singh's son). Rahul basically attacked Amit Shah in Mizoram, a state soon expecting the elections with this example.
Sarma said that it is imperative that Rahul first understands the meaning of dynastic politics. "He thought BCCI is a BJP wing. Poor, illiterate fellow..." the Assam CM said.
"First of all, when it is dynastic politics, he (Rahul Gandhi) must know the meaning of that. Amit Shah's son is not in the BJP, but his (Rahul Gandhi) entire family is in the Congress. So today, he slams everything but does not know that he is the core reason for everything. So if a family -- mother, father, grandfather, sister everybody is in politics and controlling the party. where will he see a parallel to it?" Biswa said as he compared Rajnath Singh’s son to Priyanka Gandhi.
"How does Amit Shah's son come into this debate?" Himanta asked.
For the uninitiated, Rahul had targeted Amit Shah by talking about his son Jay Shah. "What does Amit Shah's son do? What is he doing exactly? What does Rajnath Singh's son do? Last I heard Amit Shah's son is running Indian cricket. So please be objective. Look at the leaders of the BJP and ask yourselves what their children are doing. And you will find that many of their children -- Anurag Thakur -- are dynasties," Rahul Gandhi said about dynastic politics.

Anurag Thakur slams Rahul Gandhi, Uddav Thackeray for their silence in 'Sanatan Dharma' issue
The opposition is limited to insulting the Sanatan Dharma. This shows their mentality and efforts are going on one after another to insult the Sanatan Dharma, the Minister said.
Tumblr media
NAGPUR: Union minister Anurag Thakur on Monday said efforts were being made to ‘insult’ Sanatan Dharma and hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Shiv Sena (UBT) head Uddhav Thackeray for staying silent over it.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader’s remarks came amid a political row after DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin blamed Sanatan Dharma for promoting division and discrimination among people and said it should be eradicated. Also, DMK leader A Raja had likened Sanatan Dharma to diseases like leprosy and HIV which had social stigma.
To a query by reporters here on Rahul Gandhi’s statement that he has read Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita and that there is nothing Hindu about what the BJP does, Thakur said, “The opposition should break its silence on insults to Sanatan Dharma.”
“The opposition is limited to insulting the Sanatan Dharma. This shows their mentality and efforts are going on one after another to insult the Sanatan Dharma,” the minister claimed.
Asked about Rahul Gandhi’s comments over the India versus Bharat debate, Thakur said some people have the habit of “spreading fear and confusion and telling lies”. They have done this all their lives, he added.
On Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray’s statement that a “Godhra-like” incident may take place after the inauguration of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, Thakur claimed some people have forgotten their ideology for the greed of power.
“I don’t know what Balasaheb (late Shiv Sena founder and Uddhav Thackeray’s father) would have thought today and what Uddhav ji is doing today for the greed of power. Rahul ji and Uddhav ji did not say a word when so many things were said about Sanatan Dharma,” Thakur added.
Thackeray on Sunday claimed a “Godhra-like” incident may take place during the “return journey” of a large number of people expected to converge in Ayodhya from across the country for the inauguration of the Ram Temple.
The temple is likely to be inaugurated in January 2024, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls due next year.
On February 27, 2002, ‘karsevaks’ returning from Ayodhya on board the Sabarmati Express were attacked and their train coach set ablaze at Godhra station in Gujarat, leading to several deaths that triggered large riots across the state.

"PM Modi Alone Enough...": Minister After Rahul Gandhi Meets Nitish Kumar
The union minister's response came after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav met Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi
Tumblr media
Mumbai: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Modi is alone enough to take on all opposition parties that want to forge unity to take on BJP in the 2024 elections.
Speaking to ANI in Mumbai, Mr Athawale said National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is really strong under the leadership of PM Modi.
“If opposition parties want to come together, they can. PM Modi alone is enough to take on all of them. NDA is really strong under the leadership of PM Modi,” Union Minister said on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar meeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
The union minister’s response came after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav met Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi and also Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday.
Opposition parties are striving as part of their efforts to unite as many as possible to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
After the meeting, Mr Kharge talked of fighting the polls unitedly. Rahul Gandhi also talked of “standing together and fighting together”. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said it is essential for all opposition parties to unite and oust the BJP-led government in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
The meetings are being seen as an attempt by Congress and other opposition parties to take forward their “unity” displayed during the budget session of Parliament session that concluded on April 6. The session saw continuous disruptions over the opposition’s demand for a JPC probe into the Hindenburg-Adani row.
The opposition parties also slammed the government over the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha following his conviction by a Surat court in a criminal defamation case.
BJP leader and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday took a swipe at the opposition parties over their efforts to forge unity to take on the BJP in the 2024 elections and said these parties were coming together for ‘Maha thug Bandhan’.
“When political parties that are indulging in corruption come together they form ‘Maha Thug Bandhan’. Corruption cannot be hidden. People know that they have neither policies, leadership, nor intention. People do not vote when there is a wrong intention. They don’t have any policy or leadership. People will not vote for them. During 2014, 2019 and UP polls also formed this ‘Maha Thug Bandhan’ but nothing happened as people know about them,” Mr Thakur told ANI.
Rahul Gandhi described the meeting with Janata Dal-United and RJD leaders as a “historic step” towards opposition unity and an ideological fight.
Rahul Gandhi, who posted a picture of Mr Kharge and him with JD-U and RJD leaders, said they are “standing together, will fight together — for India.”
“In this battle of ideology, a historic step has been taken today towards opposition unity. (We are) standing together will fight together — for India!” Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet on Wednesday.
Janata Dal-United president Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh was also present at the meeting held at Mr Kharge’s residence.
Nitish Kumar said they will try to unite as many parties as possible.
“We will try to unite as many political parties as we can and move forward together. We will sit and deliberate on the way forward. We have had discussions. Those who agree with us…we will then take decisions about the future. A lot of people will come together,” he said on Wednesday.

BJP Won't Let Rahul Gandhi Speak In Parliament Without An Apology: Sources
Mr Gandhi has said he wants to respond to allegations against him inside the house, but the BJP sources said they wouldn't let him speak until he apologises first.
Tumblr media
New Delhi: Amid chaos in the parliament, leading to adjournment of both houses for the second consecutive day, sources in the BJP today said they won't let Congress MP Rahul Gandhi speak in the house unless he apologises for his remarks on Indian democracy in London.
Both houses of the parliament were adjourned again today amid loud sloganeering from the BJP, which is demanding Congress MP Rahul Gandhi apologise for his remarks at Cambridge University, and opposition parties demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the Adani-Hindenberg row. Audio of the proceedings were muted while chaos ensued inside the parliament. Congress, repeating Rahul Gandhi's charge that microphones of opposition leaders were muted in the parliament, took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Earlier, the mic used to be turned off, today even the proceedings of the House were muted. The house is mute for PM Modi's friend," the grand-old-party tweeted in Hindi.
Rahul Gandhi was seen in the Lok Sabha for the second time today since the row erupted over his comments, but the house was adjourned till next week before any business could be done. Mr Gandhi has said he wants to respond to allegations against him inside the house, but the BJP is adamant that he apologises first.
Calling Mr Gandhi's remark "egregious and gravely offensive", BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said Mr Gandhi should apologise outside before seeking recourse in the parliament.
"It is sad that the EGO on 1 Parivar is above INSTITUTION OF PARLIAMENT (sic)?
Rahul has made an egregious & gravely offensive remark against our sovereignty by demanding foreign intervention on foreign soil
If he is serious about Parliament he should have apologised immediately outside before seeking recourse in Parliament
You cannot undermine Parliament & then seek its recourse
Pehle Maafi Maango Desh se (first apologise to the nation)," he tweeted.
Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur, referring to Rahul Gandhi's "unfortunately, I am Member Of Parliament" slip-up yesterday, said he is truly an unfortunate MP because he is defaming the same parliament that he is a part of. He also demanded an unconditional apology from him.
"He does not know that the House is run by procedures, and policies. I had also brought the booklet of rules for him. If he attended the parliament, he would understand. He does not read, and rarely comes to the parliament. Telling one lie after another has become his habit. You lied, and tried to show that you are bigger than the parliament, bigger than the country. He should apologise unconditionally," Mr Thakur said.
Several BJP ministers have slammed Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of spreading lies and maligning India's image abroad. While Law minister Kiren Rijiju alleged that the Congress leader was speaking the language of "anti-India forces", BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has called for the formation of a special committee to look into Mr Gandhi's statements, which, he said, should help end Mr Gandhi's Lok Sabha membership.
BJP National President JP Nadda on Friday said that Rahul Gandhi has become a permanent part of the "anti-nationalist toolkit".
"It's unfortunate that the Congress party is indulging in anti-national activities. After being repeatedly rejected by the nation, Rahul Gandhi has now become a permanent part of this anti-nationalist toolkit," Mr Nadda told news agency ANI. He also asked what Mr Gandhi's intention was when he "demand the intervention of another country in the internal matters of India".
During an event in the UK, Rahul Gandhi had alleged that the structures of Indian democracy are under attack and there is a "full-scale assault" on the country's institutions.

Dynasty row: Actor Rishi Kapoor slams Rahul Gandhi on Twitter
Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor posted a series of tempered tweets reacting to Rahul Gandhi's speech in the US where the Congress vice-president made a reference to Bollywood while elaborating on dynasty politics.
Gandhi cited the example of Amitabh Bachchan and his son, Abhishek Bachchan while explaining "dynasty legacy" saying that “Dynastic politics is a problem in all political parties. Most of the country runs like this. That’s how India works. Akhilesh (Yadav), (MK) Stalin and even (actor) Abhishek Bachchan are dynasts. Even (Prem Kumar) Dhumal’s son (Anurag Thakur) is a dynast, so don’t go just after me.”
Rahul was at the University of California, Berkeley to deliver the speech.
While Rahul said nothing in particular about the Kapoor family, the actor seems to have taken direct offense over the comment.
Kapoor tweeted, "Rahul Gandhi. In the 106 years of Indian cinema of India, Kapoor's contribution is 90 years. And each generation is chosen by the public on merit", "By God's grace we are in 4 generations. Prithviraj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor. Randhir Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor - Males. Besides all others. You see otherwise",
