There is an audible extended silence as the scholar stares at the page before him and slowly lets lids descend over eyes. It is deliberate, the measured response failing to give any real reaction the absence of anything that might engage a second attempt at supposed humour.

When he is certain it has been long enough, he opens lids again, canting head in the direction of the General Mahamatra and raises an eyebrow enquiringly. "Was it a rough week, General?" he asks, wondering if the attempts to lighten the mood lie rooted in the morale around. As he speaks, one hand rises from the page to cast over silver locks, resting against the subtle mechanism that sits upon his ear.

If diversion via conversation fails to eradicate further quips, then he will simply enforce his silence with noise cancellation.

I'm shooting with a photographer who is new to me in a state that is not mine. I think the concept of the shoot is going to be neat but I'm still nervous working with anyone new, and don't generally like working with men, haha.
