Starter for: @antoniasullivan Location: Paradise Point, Ballroom Time: 8.30pm
They had gotten ready together for the gala but as soon as they had arrived together at the Masquerade Ball, Eve had lost sight of her best friend. You would think it would be rather easy to find the beautiful black gown that her friend was wearing in the crowd but apparently there were more people who had decided to wear black. Which had been expected.
It had taken Eve a while but finally she had found Antonia with two glasses of champagne in hand. "You, my dear, are very difficult to find. Next time you need to wear bright red or something so I am at least able to find you." She handed over the flute of champagne to Toni, raising the glass slightly. "To a fun night out. And that we will win some fun dates!"

ANTONIA'S PLACE
➟@antoniasullivan
It had been a few weeks since Callum last saw his cousin at the event, and his daughter Avie had been begging him to go visit. Now that the school term was finally over, he had some more free time to do so. Callum and Avie had stopped at Everything Goes first to say hello to Leyla and grab some treats; his mother had raised him to never turn up at someone's house without something to have over a cup of tea. "Knock knock..." he called out as he waited outside with an excitable daughter. He sometimes wondered if she ever felt that excited about seeing him, but the two rarely spent time apart, so he couldn't be too jealous. "If you don't hurry up, I might combust with the heat of this sun!"

starter for: @antoniasullivan location: charity masquerade
The appeal of a masquerade was beginning to make sense to Cameron. He was enjoying the anonymity the masks offered, the freedom to interact with whoever, and not necessarily knowing who it was, to let go of the stress of everyone in this town knowing who he was, his marital situation (or lack thereof) and all of the assumptions people made that came with it. This night was honestly turning out to be a relief in a lot of ways, and he was enjoying it.
Standing at the bar, he had been trying to get the bartender's attention for what felt like ages now, when he noticed someone else attempting the same - just as unsuccessfully. Sliding over to the masked brunette, he let out a sigh. "I wouldn't get your hopes up, I've been waiting to order a drink for at least two years." he offered with a cheeky smile.

starter for: @antoniasullivan location: golden hour beach bar
A drink or two in and Cameron was beginning to remember why Golden Hour had always been his favorite place to unwind - when he didn't mind company, that is - in town. With its' gorgeous views, great drinks, and pretty good music to boot, it was hard to not be swept up in the carefree nature of the place and just enjoy yourself.
He was seated at a hightop table with some friends, facing the sea outside, when he glanced over his shoulder towards the exit and caught a glimpse of someone he never expected to run into in Briar Ridge. He couldn't help but turn in his seat, trying to get a better look.
#interaction: toni#( ft. toni sullivan )#ok this is short so that they can catch each other's eye and THEN he'll approach lol

"I don't mind details but I do think I prefer to get to know people better beforehand a bit more," Eve laughed at her friend. God, she could be very nitpicky if she wanted but that was only later on in the relationship, whether it was a friendship or a significant other. The blonde smiled and softly squeezed her friend's hand. "You don't have to worry about that, Toni. I won't be going back to New York, anytime soon. You are stuck with me, you should know that by now," she told her best friend. Getting through her stranded relationship or any other drama without her best friend just was not possible. "Thank you tho, I am happy you are here." She truly was, even though it had been a surprise." The blonde took one of the flutes of champagne and took a sip from the liquid. One of the many champagne flutes she had emptied already that night. "We definitely need a beach day, I haven't been able to do so yet, seeing as I arrived here in the middle of the winter. But the beach is incredible here."
"You always struck me as a detail oriented gal, my lady," Toni pointed out in return. Maybe it was more of a her thing and she was projecting. Since she easily picked up on the smallest details of a person. A habit that came from often being in a position where she'd have to schmooze for business purposes. It was a helpful little tool. "Damn right I would've." She then gently grabbed her bestie's arm and tugged her a little closer, maybe even took on a bit of a whine in her tone. "I just need you to enjoy yourself and love it here so that you don't hightail it back to New York. What would I do without you?" For a moment she poked out her bottom lip. "Plus, I want you happy, you deserve it." When opportunity arose Toni snagged a couple more flutes of champagne and passed one off to the blonde she still had an arm linked with. She took a sip before grinning with warmth and pride. "Dinner with a view... got it. Briar Ridge seems to have plenty of that. Shall we do a beach day soon now that it's starting to warm up?"

"I think I have to worry about what I am thinking when I am able to recognise people by their mouths or eyes," Eve pointed out. Because by then she might be so close to people that she was stalking them. That or they were family, very close friends or a partner in a relationship. Otherwise she had a feeling that it was a bit strange. "I know you, Sullivan. If I would not have said that, you probably would've made your way over to them by now," the blonde said to her best friend with a chuckle. Despite being unrecognisable by now, she would prefer to be able to walk around without a mask in town without regret after the gala as well. "You know that you are the love of my life, so right back at you. If you win me, I am more than fine with a romantic dinner with view of the beach, my love."
"You mean you can't recognize some people by their mouths or eyes?" Even though Toni smirked she silently admitted that you couldn't necessarily decide someone's attractiveness solely based on a nice jawline. Quickly her eyes followed where her pretty friend pointed and laughed softly between them. "That was the most random fast casting of a line if ever saw one." And just as Eve spoke up Toni had been about to head over and snag both of the fellows for her friend. Maybe entertain the one Eve didn't pick for herself. "Aww you're no fun. Don't be a party pooper. We're in masks as you reminded me, where's the harm? This is supposed to make you a little more brazen." Toni had also bought a raffle ticket with charity in mind. "What if I win you? What if you're the love of my life? What kind of fun are you looking for?" With that she waggled her brow in a tease at Eve.

Eve chuckled at the words from her best friend. "Of course I have seen faces and physiques. But how am I able to even recognise those faces with all these masks on?" She pointed out to the woman next to her. She let her gaze move over the people around them and then pointed in the direction of two different gentlemen. "I guess those two would do," she said with a chuckle once more, before bringing her glass to her lips once more. "Don't you dare to walk up to any of those two now, by the way," she warned the other, lowering her champagne glass after a sip. She had bought a ticket as well, mainly just out of thought of giving money to a good cause. "I just hope that if we win, we will get some fun nights out of it. You do understand I will want to hear about your date if it means you meet the love of your life in the process," she teased her friend.
"Maybe you don't know all the names yet but you've seen faces and physiques. You have eyes, my dear." Toni waggled her brow at her friend and breathily chuckled into her champagne glass before she took a sip. "Point one or two of them out," she suggested with a half shrug. There wasn't really a shy bone in her body and with some alcohol and little food in her stomach Toni just might make some moves for Eve. Despite the visits and the few people she knew because of that, she too was struggling with not knowing anyone. Which was why a masquerade seemed like a great opportunity. It leveled the playing field. "Well, I bought a raffle ticket," and as if she needed to prove it Toni pulled it out and waved it in front of Eve for a second and laughed. "Honestly, kind of down for anybody. Just want to meet people." Though, her eyes had been casually scanning for Cameron since she'd arrived.

Eve took a sip of the champagne after they had made the toast and lowered the glass when her friend asked her if there was someone she had hoped to catch a date with. "Oh God no. No one in particular, I would say. I mean, I don't know anyone yet here. I have mostly seen faces and that is about it." She was still trying to remember which name belonged to which face and out of the new people so far, she was only succeeding with Callum and his little girl - which wasn't that surprising since they were her neighbours and Toni's cousin. And then there were the people involved with work so Levi... Gen and Cameron didn't count because she knew them already from New York City. "And what about you? Anyone you would want a date with?"
As much as Toni wanted to spend the majority of the night moving about the masquerade with her best friend she also needed to do a little mingling. Even though children weren't allowed Toni still wanted to seek out her cousin and see when she could take Avie next. Then there was also the want to rub elbows with Cameron Bishop again. Which wasn't something she could easily do with Eve right at her side.
Thankfully they'd found each other again after a little socializing, leaving Toni to grin wide when she saw the blonde coming in with some champagne. "You're a goddess and a life saver, and I look better in black," she declared as she relieved Eve of the offered flute and took and raised it up for a little toast. "Yes, ditto, let us be blessed with no one boring," she chuckled then sipped. "I know you haven't been here too long but is there anyone you're hoping to catch a date with?"
