"I'M SORRY, THAT I GOT YOU KILLED! I SHOULDN'T HAVE LISTENING TO YOU, WHEN YOU SAID TO NEVER FOLLOW TEACH!"
But you don't listen. You just keep fighting.
Then (F/N) pull out a tiny music box, and she plays it. It is called 'a bunny with red eyes'.
It's one of the songs that your mother used to sing, and you used to sing it to your kids, your family. It all comes back to you.
You remember everything.
You remember you have a family.
You remember Roger save you.
You remember raising three boys.
You remember you made some friends who care about you.

Fail-Safe (2)
a/n: hi!! I'm so sorry for the wait, life hasn't been the nicest recently lol. I hope this ok!!
tag list: @sunshadesnrainbowz @wandaromamoff69 @tintedrose12 @m-12344
word count: 1.4k
prompt: Dreykov always had a back up plan, a fail safe, in case his empire fell. You grew up with Yelena and Natasha in the Red Room. But unlike your sisters, who became an Avenger or the greatest child assassin respectively, Dreykov had a different purpose for you. Now that he was gone, you were released from your cage - to hunt down the ones responsible for the death of the Red Room.
pairing(s): yelena belova x dark!sister!reader; kate bishop x dark!reader (not romantic); antonia dreykov x dark!reader
warning(s)/notes: mentions of murder; experimentations; Dreykov being a crap individual; mentions of AoS plot lines; crappy writing; Y/N shows emotions briefly and hates it, does not recommend
Laura laughed out loud at the face you made once trying your latte, a free one you had received once being the one hundredth customer of the week. She covered her mouth with her hand as you glared at the offensive beverage, your guard lowered for a second. Clearing your throat, you pushed the drink away from you on the table and leveled your gaze on Laura, your objective once more ringing through your mind. You took on an inquisitive expression, feigning the appearance of something stalling in your mind. You picked up the coffee Barton’s wife had bought you, not the disgusting one you wanted to throw out the window, and took a sip before asking a question.
“Barton, Barton - why does that name sound familiar?” You made sure to keep your voice lowered, as to not get the attention of the other patrons in the cafe, and to give Laura a false sense of security. The woman smiled softly, taking a drink of her own coffee before answering.
“Probably from my husband, he’s a bit popular around this city.”
You let your eyes widen, brighten at her words. You snapped before pointing at her excitedly.
“Hawkeye! I wish I could’ve seen the battle of New York, I’ve heard it was a spectacle.”
Laura smiled at the child like excitement in your voice. Truth be told, you didn’t have to feign the emotion in your tone, some part of you truly wished you could’ve seen your sis- the Avengers in action. Laura’s phone beeped and she opened her message, looking at you with an apologetic look.
“My daughter,” she explained, waving her phone in the air, “something to do with a school project. Can we exchange numbers? I would love to continue this sometime.”
Something blossomed in your chest at the warmth in her tone but you were quick to squash it. With a quirk of your lips, you wrote your number down on a napkin, handing it to Laura. The woman nodded in thanks before waving back to you and walking away. You waited a few moments before getting up, taking the offensive coffee and marching over to the barista, who looked at you with false happiness.
“Hello ma’am, how may I-” he didn’t get to finish his words, as you focused on the gravitational pulls around his throat. You watched as his face turned red, his hands grasping at his neck, clawing at the skin. Calmly, you set the latte down on the counter and watched in amusement as the barista fell to the ground. Adjusting your jacket, you spun around, a panicked look on your face.
“Someone call an ambulance!”
Soon there was a crowd of people surrounding the barista, voices rising through the air as someone tried to get a hold of 911. You meandered away, your footsteps light as you made your way down the sidewalks of New York City.
-
“Sir, I wouldn’t recommend using her just yet - our other test subjects have been destroyed by the mere pressure this element puts on their bodies-”
Dreykov raised a hand to stop the scientist, his eyes trained on you as you sat curled up in a corner. You were shaking, pain still coursing through your body days after the last experiment, where your bones were covered in an indestructible substance. But that’s not what haunted your mind, not the burning of your bones or the heaviness that laced your body. No, what haunted you was the look on Yelena’s face before she was knocked out. She looked shocked to see you, shocked to see what Dreykov was doing but not…concerned. She looked like she didn’t care, like you didn’t matter.
Natasha was always the favorite sister.
Dreykov motioned for you and with heavy movements you stood up, making your way to the man. The scientist watched you with an apology in her eyes. You didn’t know what that meant. You were led down a hallway, Dreykov’s hand on your back - guiding you. Once inside a heavily armored room, Dreykov led you to a small chamber. You eyed the vials of levitating darkness with contempt, not wanting to feel anymore pain.
“Now, my georgin, this will only last a moment, then you will taste power only the strongest of men have feasted upon,” Dreykov paused, watching as the contempt into your eyes faded away, still lingering with fear but now drowning in a thirst that was reflected in his own. He raised a hand to move your chin so you were looking at him.
“The…others who were gifted with this opportunity were weak, they crumbled under the weight of what was expected. They disappointed me. But, you won’t, will you, my rising feniks?”
You set your chin, determination flooding your veins. The weighted material coating your skeleton felt lighter, no more holding you down but fueling your strength as you made your way into the chamber. As the door shut, you held back a hiss at the pinpricks of pain on your arms and legs from the needles. You saw Dreykov watching you, then you watched as he nodded to the scientist in your peripheral vision, and you closed your eyes. Focusing your breath, you steadied your heart, desperate not to show weakness. When the vials emptied into your system, you almost bit your tongue off with the force of your teeth.
But you didn’t scream.
Oh no, you didn’t scream.
After a few moments, the pain disappeared, melting away as energy surged through you, whispers flooding your mind. It felt…empowering.
It started with a chuckle, a mere movement of your shoulders in amusement, then it grew into a roar of laughter bursting from your lips.
If this was the price of pain, you would thrive in its riches.
-
The street was crowded with bystanders, all panicking with the sight before them. Pushing through the crowd, Yelena felt her heart beating rapidly in her chest.
It was you, she knew it was.
The description that Kate and Clint had given her of the victim’s body only further proved her thoughts to be true. A young man with a crushed throat but no signs of force on his skin. His eyes popping out of the sockets with the amount of force used to destroy his airway, his face a disturbing gray while the rest of his body an unnerving natural shade.
The two archers opted to stay behind at Kate’s apartment, hoping to find a way to track you down. But Yelena knew there was only one true way to catch you, someone who was equally as close to Dreykov as you once were. Someone, who could hopefully win in a fight against you, even with all your advantages. Yelena made it to the front of the crowd, where she saw the EMTs load the body into a truck, the police keeping everyone back as their CSI desperately searched the scene for any evidence.
“They’re not going to find anything,” a voice rang out next to Yelena, accented and rough, “Even if she didn’t have her powers, it’s what we’re taught- to not leave a trace.”
Yelena turned toward the other woman, nodding her chin in greeting. Antonia, once known as Taskmaster, nodded her own in return. She set her gaze towards the ambulance, ignoring the stares from others at her burn marks.
“This is her second, da?”
Yelena nodded, sighing as she rubbed her brow with her hand, curling it into a fist in frustration.
“She’s playing with me, Antonia, leaving a note at Lana’s house, walking around the city, hiding in plain sight. It’s exhausting.”
Antonia shrugged, a humorless smirk pulling on the edges of her lips.
“I wouldn’t take it personally. You and Natasha killed my father and now that Natasha is out of the equation, you’re the only loose string left- excluding your parents.”
Yelena turned her full attention to Antonia, question in her eyes. Antonia sighed, turning her body to face Yelena.
“Y/N is Dreykov’s fail-safe, Yelena, his avenger. You killed him, you’re her target. This,” she waved a hand towards the crime scene, “is just fun and games for her, none of it matters. This ends with your blood staining her hands. It’s what she’s programmed to do.”
Yelena swallowed, sharp pains tugging at her heart. She lost one sister to sacrifice and one to the exploits of a mad man.
At least one could be easily saved.
“Well then,” Yelena faked a smile, looking Antonia dead in the eyes, “we have our work cut out for us then. I’ll call the archers and you go get your suit.”
Yelena watched as the ambulance drove away.
“It’s time to start playing her game.”

Choice and Cries
a/n: okay i think i might have a little problem with the sad fic
*not my GIF*
Pairing: Kate Bishop x Belova!Reader; Yelena Belova x Widow!Reader (sister); Natasha Romanoff x Widow!Reader (platonic/sister)
Summary: You are pretty close with the blonde widow, she's like a sister to you of course when she's exposed at the gaz she freed you. After tooke down the red room you start a normal and you met Kate Bishop, you became friend and more but Thanos came and after a choice.
Types: little Fluff and Angst
Warning: mention of Dreykov, mention of Red Room, Thanos, blip, VORMIR!!!!, (no happy ending)
________________
You were the little sister of Yelena Belova. You met her when you were 5 in the red room; Dreykov assigned her to be your 'mentor' and you became pretty close. She promises herself that she'll be the best big sister, just like Natasha was before they were forced to integrate the program and the redhead escaped. You've been her rock since Natasha left and she was yours. Later, after your ceremony, you were sent to Morocco with Yelena and another widow to find an older widow. The blonde found her, she fought her, and before she died, Oxana freed Yelena, so when you found her only a few seconds later, she also freed you (after a little fight of course). You two run away from the red room, and a few weeks later you meet your other big sister, Natalia Romanova, or Natasha Romanoff, as the Americans call her.
You successfully ran away from the Taskmaster (Antonia was really a pain in your a**), and you were now on a bench next to Yelena when Natasha tried to heal her wound. The Avenger sat across the blond and looked at you. "So who are you?" she asked.
"She's Y/n" Yelena replied for you, "Ona moya mladshaya sestra (she's my little sister)." You smiled even if anyone could see you had a special bond with the blonde; they couldn't imagine that one of the world's best assassins could have a little sister. Natasha looked a little confused.
"Y/n Belova, if I may add," you added. And this time it was Yelena's turn to smile. When you join the red room, you didn't have a last name; your parents left you at an orphanage only 6 months after you were born, and except for your name, they didn't give you anything. So after you became more close with Yelena, you asked her if you could use her name, and she was more than excited to know you wanted to be a big part of her life. The Avenger seemed to examine you, and you spoke again, "I'm 16." She looked worried, "But I'll be 17 the next month," and Yelena laughed; she knew you didn't like to be treated like a child, even if she did this herself.
After a little talk, you started to yawn, and before you could understand, you opened your eyes, and you were in the back seat of a car, and Yelena was talking about her vest to Nat. "We all know your vest is cool, sestra, but can I ask where are we going?" The blond looked at you a little worried; she knew her next word would not be easy to hear but she had to.
So she spoke with hesitation, "We're going to take down...the red room." All your body tensed at her word. You didn't want to return to this place, not after your successful escape, not after you started to plan a life without Dreykov. "Lena, we--" you wanted to argue, but your sister cut you off, "Of course you don't have to come if you don't want. We'll find Alexei, and when he tells us where the red room is, Natasha and I will handle this."
You gasped and looked at her: "Are you kidding me? I can't let my..." you paused and looked at Natasha before continuing, "I can't let my two sisters be with the best friend of the man who did THIS to us. Of course I came," you almost yelled at her. Natasha chuckled a little. You didn't hesitate to call her your sister, and even if she knew she had a lot to learn about you, she'll protect you just like she will protect Yelena.
~~
It took a while, but your sisters and you freed Alexei, and you met Melina. You didn't trust them, and when they mentioned the mission in Ohio and you saw Yelena's face, you couldn't help but be angry. The blond has talked to you about her life in Ohio and about her family. You were always happy to see the smile on her face when she talked about it, but now you just want to scold them and leave with your blond sister, but you knew you couldn't, not now. You had a mission to complete before.
Take down the red room was hard, but it's done now, and you were proud of yourself for not being a burden for the older widows. After the family make-up, you wanted to leave with Yelena, Melina, and Alexei, but the blonde proposed something else: "Y/n I know you don't want to get involved with this thing any more. So with Natasha, we thought about something: "You felt the redhead hand on your shoulder and looked at her, and then at Yelena again: "I'll handle the widow, and you'll go to New York with Natasha. You can live a normal life; with normal teens, you'll go to school and maybe find someone," she winked at you after the last part.
"I don't know Lena; I'm more than happy to be with you, and I don't think I can adapt easily," you replied honestly.
"I'll be here for you," Natasha said. "You'll not be alone, and I'll be here to protect you or help you with your new terrible threat." You tilted your head with a confused look, and she added "the homeworks," and everybody laughed. After two week you and Natasha were 'release' by Ross and you went with her when she help her friend to escape. You met a lot of Avengers, and they seemed to appreciate you.
~~
It's been two months since you started high school, and honestly, the widow's job was more easy than dealing with teenagers. One of them tried to make fun of your Russian accent, but apparently that didn't seem to make a certain brunette laugh. She slapped his arm, and when he turned around to see who could possibly do that, he froze. "Excuse him, he's a jerk, don't waste your time with him," the girl said as she approached you.
"Oh, don't worry; I'm unfortunately used to this," you joked. 'damn she's so pretty' you thought. You were lost in her blue eyes, and you saw her hold out one hand.
"I'm Kate Bishop, by the way," she introduced herself, and you shook her hand.
"And I'm gay, Y/n. Y/n Belova," you introduced yourself, but it was the first time 'Y/n Belova' seemed insufficient. After this, you and Kate became friends, and very quickly you became more. You asked her to be your girlfriend after you talked with Natasha about love and feelings. Your life was perfect: you had a beautiful girlfriend, two protective sisters, and a team that could protect you if necessary. At least, until this day. When Thanos' army landed on earth, you were with Kate in her bedroom. You talked about everything and nothing, and when you noticed the ship in the sky, you called Natasha, and she assured you they could handle this themselves. She made a promise to Yelena to never let you get hurt, which is why she didn't let you join the Avengers even if Sam and Steve asked her.
One minute there was chaos, and a minute later the ship just seemed to go back to space. You thought it was time to ask what was happening; you tried to call Nat, but she was fighting in Wakanda, so she didn't reply, and you tried to call Yelena to know if she was okay, but she was freeing a widow, so she didn't reply either. And a few hours after the nightmare started, people started to disappear; they were like dust. During the blip, you lost one of your sisters, and Kate lost her mother. But you were always here for each other for the past five years.
You and Kate were 22 now; it's been five years since Thanos, five years since you both lost someone you loved, but you decided to move forward. Today is a special day for you; you woke up earlier than usual, prepared breakfast, and had a plan for the day. After breakfast, you heard knocks on your door, and you opened it to see the redheaded black widow. You let her in, of course. "Hey, Nat, what's bring you here in the morning?" you asked.
She was about to reply when Kate came: "Hey Natty, I missed you." She hugged her. Natasha was not a hugger, but she let Kate hug her because she knew how important she was to you.
"We found a way to bring them back," the Avenger said. You and Kate exchanged looks, and you stared at Nat for an explanation: "We found a way to bring Yelena and the others back. Bruce and Tony are working on it, but it will be done by tomorrow." Your eyes were now glossy, and you were crying, and Kate wrapped her arms around you. She smiled at Natasha. She didn't know Yelena. She knew she was really important for you, but nothing more. Nat cleared her throat, and you both looked at her. "I think we will need some help, so if you want to come, I think it will be pretty cool."
"Of course we come," Kate replied.
You looked at her and said, "But moya lyubov' (my love), that can be pretty dangerous." She cupped your cheeks, and you melted at the touch.
"If you go, I go. I can't risk losing you." You wanted to protest, but you knew how stubborn she was, so you just nodded and let Nat leave. This night you were on your bed, reading a book, and Kate sat between your legs with her back to you. "Can you braid my hair, hun?" she asked, and you did. There was a comfortable silence when she decided to speak again, "Babe, how is Yelena?" You paused, and you realized you didn't talk a lot about your other sister, not because you didn't want to let Kate know about her, but because you weren't ready to be reminded she was gone. But now you had a chance to bring her back, so why not?
"She is amazing," you started, and even if she didn't see you, your girlfriend knew you had sparkles in your eyes. "Do you remember when I talk about my difficult past?" she nodded. "When I was six months old, my parents left me in an orphanage; they just gave me a name, not love. When I was five, a woman adopted me, at least that's what I thought, but she brought in her hell," you sense Kate tensing a little, "and then I met her; she was nine years older, and Dreykov assigned her to be my mentor, and I spent the next eleven years of my life with her." You wiped away a tear. "I didn't have a last name when I was forced to join the red room, so one day I asked her if I could use hers since we were pretty close, and everyone started to call me her little shadow. When she said yes, I was excited, and since this day, I became—"
"Y/n Belova" Kate finished for you, and you smiled.
"Yeah. You know she was the best big sister I could imagine; she taught me how to braid fight, and cook, and when we ran from the red room, we started to learn together how to live."
"You seem to be proud of her," the brunette said.
"Yeah, I'm proud of the person she is. After we took down the red room, she went to free the widow around the world and let me try to live a normal life." You had finished braiding her hair, and you kissed her neck, saying, "Without her, we wouldn't have meet. I'm proud of her and to have her name." There was a silence, and you spoke again, "But Kate, I have something to ask you." She turned to look at you, a little worried, "When you will meet Yelena," you paused and stood from the bed to grab something in your coat's pocket "I don't want to introduce you as my girlfriend." You took a step forward, and Kate looked confused. "Kate Bishop, moy drug, moya lyubov' (my friend, my love), we spent the last five years together, and honestly, if you were not with me, I would probably burst out and did whatever it takes to erase my anger for losing my sister. But you were here, and you are always here, despite the fact that I was a broken student who didn't know how to interact properly with other people, despite the fact that I chose not to be an avenger even if I knew it's your dream, despite the fact that I'm still learning how to be a perfect girlfriend and how to keep a house clean. You were here when I was at my worst; you were and are the reason I smile every day, and I hope you will be the reason I smile in the future." You kneeled in front of her, and she put a hand in front of her mouth "Kate Bishop, will you allow me to be the happiest woman in the world? Will you marry me?"
"Yes, yes, yes, yes. A thousand times YES" She pulled you to kiss her, and you kissed her back. You put the ring on her finger, and she looked at it like it could disappear at any time. You spent the night cuddling and kissing each other.
The next day, you were at the compound with Kate, and the team assigned you to Vormir. You couldn't go to New York with Tony and the other because it will be too weird for you, and you knew Kate would be more interested in Clint, who saved the city by the stones. So you were with Nebula and Rodhey in Morag, and when you were ready to go, Nebula didn't forget to remind you how Vormir was dangerous. You took her hand and looked at her, saying, "Don't worry, Neb, we will be on alert for everything." And without saying another word, you and Kate started to leave.
"You know, I'm really excited to tell the team," Kate said. You both agreed to let the team know about your engagement only after the mission, only after she could speak to her mother.
"Me too," you smiled and squeezed her hand, "I thought about something."
"What?" she replied.
"When we will be married, I think it would be cool if I changed my name to Beloshop or Bishlova." Kate laughed. and you looked at her a little confused. "Why are you laughing?"
"Did you hear what you said, Y/n?" She replied, but she didn't stop.
"What, it's a mix of the two last of my two favorite people; I think it's cute," you pouted, and she calmed a little.
"Yes, it is, but babe, you can't do that; we're not on Tumblr or something like that." You didn't say anything, and she added, "Maybe you can be Mrs. Belova-Bishop."
"Mrs.Belova-Bishop ?" you repeated "Okay, it's more cool than Bishlova or Beloshop. I can't wait to be Mrs. Belova-Bishop," you said with a big smile. You didn't realize you were at your destination until you saw the planet in front of you.
~~
You were now on top of the cliff, and a ghost(?) appeared in front of you and Kate and started to do his speech about the stone, but one sentence caught your attention: 'a soul for a soul'. You looked at the bottom of the climb; you knew exactly what you had to do, but could you really do this? You wanted to bring back your sister, but that meant you had to leave Kate and Natasha behind. You turned around and saw Kate sitting on a log, and you sat next to her. "It's pretty high," you said, and she looked at you.
"Y/n, I swear if you think about it, I will be mad," she replied, and you can feel the sadness in her voice. You wrapped your arms around her shoulders and kissed her temple.
"You know one of us has to do it, detka (baby)," she shook her head.
"Let me do that," she argued.
"Of course not, Katie," you grabbed her face and turned it to you, "Look at me, honey; I will never let you do this. Do you understand me?" She shook her head again.
"If you're not with me, I don't want to return with them. What will I say to Nat and Yelena?" You froze at the blonde's name. "They will want to know why their baby sister didn't come back." you both stood up
"Yeah, but I can't tell Eleanor that I couldn't keep her little girl safe; I made her a promise."
"You also promise to marry me, Y/n. You can't leave me here. I need you. I will need you to try to relax me when we will burn out because of the wedding. I'll need you when we will decide to have a bigger family." She paused a moment. "I'll need you when Yelena will cry for you." she whispered, and your heart broke at the last sentence.
"I'll always be here with you, detka" you pointed at her heart, "I'll never let you go; even dead, I'll continue to love you, to be your Y/n Belova-Bishop." Your eyes were full of tears. You kissed her one last time before whispering near her lips, "I'm so sorry, moya lyubov" You started to run to the cliff, and she stopped you in your run.
"You can't do that to me, please," she started to cry, but you can't return without the stone, you can't let the world like that. You wrapped your hand around her neck and lost your gaze in her eyes. This ocean of love has been yours since the first time you met. You pushed your forehead against her, and she sobbed.
"Thanks you for all, Kate Bishop. Thank you for being my rock. Thank you for never letting me go, even when I was a jerk. Thank you for being patient with me. Thanks for loving me, Kate Bishop-Belova," you smiled, and before she could say anything, you used your widow bites to make her fall near the edge of the cliff and see you. She saw when you jumped, she saw you muttered the last 'i love you', she saw you when your body collided with the ground, but she also saw the smile on your face, the same smile that meant a lot to her, the smile that greeted her every time she came back home or when you were training, the smile you put on the first time you met her and never failed to follow her. It was her favorite smile; it was yours.
When she came back, everyone saw her crying, but Natasha didn't see you. Her heart started to beat faster; her worries were consuming her, and she asked only one question, "Kate, where is Y/n?" and at this time, everybody seemed to notice that you were not here, and your fiancé cried more. The room was drowned by the brunette's cries when she replied.
"I'm sorry, Nat," she sobbed again. "I'm really sorry."
~~
A whole month later, Yelena was in the middle of nowhere near New York. She walked for a while before stopping in front of the grave; she kneeled, cleaned some leaves, and pressed her forehead on the stone. When she stood up, she looked at the tombstone for a while.

Now we live
Taskmaster x Reader /or/ Antonia Dreykov x Reader
Summary - Sometimes even the strongest deserve a happy ending
Not my GIF!!!
I need you to upload these files into Antonia," Dreykov walked into the room, throwing you a memory stick. You caught it with ease, nodding shortly before walking towards the Taskmasters training room, but also her living space.
You and Dreykov were the only people who knew who Antonia was. He had the nerves in your brain completely re-ordered and re-attached just so he could have full control of you. He thought that he had to have at least one permanently loyal widow he could order on missions just as he pleased. You were at his full disposal.
He trusted you. And only you. Which made you powerful. More powerful than him, even. So, when finally, finally, your nerves started going back into their original position, you couldn't let him know. You wouldn't let him know that you were conscious, thinking. Alive.
"Yes, sir." Your feet carried you through the room after pressing in the code on the door. One thing your severed nerves gave you was incredible memory, at least that didn't fade as Dreykov's control slowly did. You waved off the other guards, knowing they'd been informed to listen to you.
She immediately stopped training, standing up from her sitting position and walking over to her chair closer to the desk with the computer in. It broke your heart knowing Dreykov was using his own daughter for his power. His rules had become so strict with Antonia that she'd immediately walk to her chair when anyone would walk in, scared of a punishment.
"It's just me," You started, walking closer to her and seeing how her shoulder relaxed when she heard your voice. You crouched down in front of her, placing your arms on her thighs and your chin on your forearm to show you weren't under his control again.
"You can take it off," She hesitated at first, but eventually pressed some buttons to release the tight helmet off her face. To say that she trusted you was an understatement. You had given her the red serum days ago, hoping that in time, you'd manage to escape with her. She reached up, taking the helmet off and fiddling with it in her lap.
It was hard on her, the whole pretending to be under his control thing. But in order for you to make a plan for you to escape, both of you had to keep it together. That didn't mean that you'd stop being there for her, quite the opposite. The scar on her face was almost healed, yet some bumps and imperfections still remained, but it only made her more perfect for you.
You had gotten a hold of a drug that had helped her injured eye, making it look almost normal. Of course nobody was aware of it because no-one ever take off her mask apart from you and her. It was mostly for her, to make her feel better about herself whenever she saw her reflection.
You reached up, cupping her face and smiling gently, rubbing the skin on her jaw.
"Not long, I promise."
She sniffled, inhaling harshly to stop herself from crying. Her gaze connected to yours, but she soon looked away towards the ceiling, blinking rapidly.
"I don't know how long I can do this for," She whispered, trying to avoid eye contact. You didn't know what to respond with. You had apologised countless times for revealing her to the serum before you had a plan, but she assured you it wasn't your fault and that she was glad you did it so early. It was the training, and constant fear of someone finding out you weren't under control. The fear, once you escaped, of being found.
You could say, the only place you could be yourself is with each other. And you'd make sure that you'd escape with her.
"Did he send you in here? Why?" She asked, changing the subject while looking down at you with a frown. You only gave her a sympathetic smile before pulling out the memory stick, undoubtedly stored up with more training techniques.
She huffed, gripping her helmet tighter and lifting it to put over her head. Before she could though, you stopped her, taking the helmet and placing it beside the computer. Standing from your crouched position, you pulled her up, enveloping her shoulders in a tight embrace. It didn't take long
before she wrapped her arms around your waist, pulling you closer. You already had to stand on your toes to reach up to her, now with her arms around you, she was almost lifting you up.
Gently, she leaned down enough for your feet to be reaching the ground and hugged you tighter, placing her nose into the crook of her neck. You wished you could stay like this forever, in a embrace, in a safety you lacked in your life.
"Promise me something," She pulled away, wiping the tears that had cascaded down your cheeks gently.
You nodded. "Anything,"
"If you have to choose between you and me...you'll choose yourself." You weren't expecting that, and you didn't know what she was talking about. You shook your head, brows furrowed in confusion.
"What? No- Anything but that- I- No."
She smiled, cupping your face delicately in her hands.
"Promise me. Whatever happens, you'll choose your life over mine." No. But you couldn't tell her that, because if you did she'd try and persuade you otherwise
"Okay,"
Of course that was a lie. You'd never do such a thing. She was so important to you. And maybe a part of you knew she could see through your lie, but the same part was hoping otherwise. You wanted her to be safe, that was all it was about from the beginning. Setting her free, like she deserved to be.
She nodded, turning to grab her helmet so you could put the memory stick into her head to install more fighting techniques. Dreykov would know if you didn't do it, so you had no choice.
He walked into the room. He'd usually say something, usually greeted you sarcastically, knowing you couldn't respond. Today, he walked in, staring deep into your soul with arms crossed. You felt your heartbeat quicken but your face remained emotionless. There was no way he would of known, right? Unless Antonia showed him and told him everything, there was no way he could know.
"My daughter..." He started, still staring at you. "Did you know half her face had healed?"
You didn't move, knowing you weren't allowed to respond.
"And her chemical subjugation had worn off." He walked closer, so much so that you could feel his breath on your neck.
"Have any information about that?" He gripped the back of your neck and you almost yelped with how hard he pulled you out the door with him. He was leading you towards Antonia's training room where loud yelps could already be heard.
You could two things. Continue pretending and wish for the best, or expose yourself now and try to kill him. You went with option one until you saw what was happening; Antonia sat on the floor, hands tied behind her back while a guard was kicking her stomach. She had her suit on, but it provided barely any protection.
She was hunched over in pain, grunting each time the guard connected his leg to her stomach.
"NO!" You jumped forward, out of Dreykov's grip in attempt to attack the guard but he was too quick, pinning you tot he ground as you tried to wriggle out of his grip.
"Leave her alone, take me!" Antonia groaned in protest, shaking her head as she tried to get up. The guard lifted you up, but in a moment of weakness, you kicked his feet from under him which made him effectively drop you and himself onto the ground. You punched his face, hitting him unconscious. You swiftly stood up, taking out your knife and cutting the ropes on Tonia's hands. She rubbed her wrists, both of you turning to Dreykov.
For once in your life you saw him second guess himself. He took a step back, holding firmly onto the edge of the desk where the computer was. He was quick to regain his composure, standing straight as if he remembered something he wasn't willing to share yet.
"You know as soon as you touch me, the alarm sounds and the widows will come after you, right?"
You scoffed, twirling the knife in your hand before starting to run at him. Tonia did the same thing, gripping her own weapon in her gloved hands. You ran until you reached him, the sudden adrenaline making you grip the knife that much tighter before it impaled his chest. But he stood there, as smug as
ever. It confused you. He was about to die, why was he happy? You got your answers a few moments later, when the knife got stuck in the air a few inches away from his body. Your brows furrowed, and you felt some type of force holding you back. Antonia felt it too, because something stopped her as well.
"What-"
"You see, smelling my pheromones prevents you from committing violence against me."
You grunted trying again but to no avail. His hand reached up and his finger touched your forehead, slowly moving downwards across your nose before he let his hand fall down back onto his side.
"Tell me, widow. How'd you get free?"
"Like I'd tell you shit,"
He let out a humorous laugh, walking around the desk to the other side. You followed, standing directly in front of him, the only thing between you and him was the desk. Antonia joined your side.
"Ah, my Antonia." He smiled at her. "I was so proud of you up until now-" Both her hands slammed on the desk; "Quit the bullshit,"
"I'm your father-"
"You'll never be my father..." She continued but you trailed off. It was so fucking obvious now. Your nerves. It wasn't the chemical subjugation that made it impossible for you to hurt him. It was the nerve in your nose. "...and if you think I'd ever consider you a father after this, you're so wrong-"
You didn't think twice. You placed both hands on the desk and smashed your nose into the wood. The horrid noise of bones cracking echoed through the room, both Tonia and Dreykov staring at you. You couldn't see her face since she was standing beside you but the look on Dreykov's made up for it. His eyes widened, the white in his eyes now very clear.
You inhaled through your broken nose, blood racing down your lips. It wasn't his cologne or his pheromones that you smelt. It was his fear. The dread he was feeling was almost satisfying, but the only thing that could give you the most content, would be punching it off his face.
"What did you do?" He asked, backing away from you.
"I severed the nerve." You jumped over the desk, landing a punch right in his jaw. The alarms sounded immediately, red flooding your vision but you didn't care. Just as his body fell, you fell with it, but just so your could hit him more. Your fists burnt from the impact, but it only seemed to want you to punch more.
"(Y/N), we have to go. The rest will be here soon," Your head snapped towards her voice. She was anxiously looking over to the door where dozens of widows would appear within the next minute. You looked back down at his body. He wasn't dead yet, but you wanted him to be. So, you stood, smiling down at his bloody face before kicking his jaw with your heel, effectively making him fall unconscious.
You and Tonia ran through what seemed like hundreds of red-lit corridors before you saw a door which lead outside. Problem was, you were thousands of feet into the air. You couldn't jump, but there was no other way.
"D'you trust me?"
You nodded, letting her grab your waist before opening the door and jumping out. Everything happened so fast; the wind hit your face and she cradled your head under her chin with her hand, the other hand secure on her waist.
It wasn't long before you reached ground. Tonia used the parachute that was hidden in her suit to land you to safety, which just turned out to be a massive field with no end.
"What now?" She asked, looking up at the almost invisible infrastructure hidden in the clouds.
"Now we live."

you don’t have to be sorry
a/n: so sorry I was gone for so long, but I’m back!
warnings: black widow spoilers
pairing: natasha romanoff x reader
summary: after the events of black widow, natasha comes home to you feeling guilty for leaving her family when she was younger (based on matilda by harry styles)
words: 808 | natasha x reader masterlist | navigation post
likes, reblogs, and comments are always appreciated and welcomed <3
Natasha was the strongest person you have ever known, so when she went off the grid, you know she was safe. Months passed with no word from Nat, but you knew, she was going to be okay. You knew she would reach out when it was safe. Most people thought you were crazy for having such faith, but they didn't know Nat like you did. No one could kill her unless she let them.
When Nat finally reached out to you, it was not how you imagined. You imagined a cryptic set of coordinates you were supposed to meet her at. You imagined meeting her at one of her hundreds of safe houses. You did not imagine her just showing up at your front door.
“Natasha?” She looked like she hadn’t slept in weeks. The redhead didn’t give you an answer, she just wrapped her arms around you tightly. “Nat?” You said again, trying to see if she was okay. She muttered a barely audible “hi” back to you.
You carefully lead Nat into the house and sat her on the couch, “Do you want to go freshen up, or do you want to talk first?” You knew giving her choices always helped her. The redhead didn't answer, she only looked to the staircase, which you knew was an indication that she wanted to take a moment to freshen up first.
You carried Nat upstairs and gave her some privacy and all the time she needed to get herself situated. In the meantime, you took it upon yourself to grab some blankets, water, Nat’s favorite snacks, and light Nat’s favorite candle in the bedroom.
Forty-five minutes later Nat reappeared in the doorway of your bedroom. “Feel any better?”
“A little,” she responded, still looking very shaken up, “I messed up.”
You patted the space in bed next to you, “What are you talking about?” Nat crawled in next to you as you pulled her in close, “I didn’t actually kill Dreykov all those years ago, or his daughter.” Nat had told you the story of what happened in Budapest a few years ago, you knew how much that haunted her to this day. “Wait what? I don’t-”
“Me either, but he’s dead now and Antonia is safe now,” Natasha responded on the verge of tears. “Nat I’m so sorry you had to-”
“The red room wasn’t gone all this time, there wer- are thousands of girls that were under his control, Y/N they were completely mind controlled by him, because of me.”
“Woah woah woah, why is this your fault?”
“When I got out, when I defected, he made it harder for anyone to ever do that again.”
“How do you even-” Nat cut you off before you could even finish your sentence. “I found Yelena.” You had heard endless stories about Yelena and Ohio and Nat’s “family.”
“Yelena was under his control this entire time, so was Antonia. I can’t believe I didn’t look for her.”
“You thought she wanted nothing to do with you love…” You said trying to get her to stop blaming herself. “I should have stayed, I shouldn’t have left her, I-”
“Nat you don’t have to be sorry for doing what you had to do to survive.” Natasha looked at you with tears spilling out of her eyes, “But I left her, I left everyone.”
“But that wasn’t your intention, you thought the red room was gone. You thought Yelena was mad at you. You thought she didn’t want to see you, so you respected her space.” Natasha immediately curled into and sobbed.
“I saw Melina and Alexi too,” she said inbetween her sobs. You knew that Nat had a complicated relationship with them, she never viewed them as her “parents” because she knew Ohio was fake the whole time. “Y/N I feel guilty, Yelean said that Ohio was the best years of her life and that we lied to her about it, and we did lie, I lied, I-”
“Natasha you were eleven years old, you were trying to protect her, you were just a kid.”
“Yeah but I grew up and I left her behind. I left all of them and I-”
“You don’t have to be sorry for leaving and growing up.” Natasha looked up at you with a look on her face that you have never seen before. “Thank you.”
You didn’t know it, but Natasha always felt like she needed permission to leave her past behind her. To move on. To be free. You showed her that moving on is okay. That moving on is good. The past is scary and so is the future. But you showed her that she can live in the moment. That she cdoesnt have to worry about what was and what will be. She was free to just be.

Left Behind
Summary: Yelena isn’t the only person Natasha left to the Red Room.
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x widow!female!reader
Warnings: sort of Black Widow spoilers! but won’t completely follow the plot, some angst
Word count: 1343
a/n: I’m sorry this is a little rushed I’m so damn tired 😫

Natasha taps the table as she, Yelena and Melina wait for Alexei to join the to the dining table. She is anxious, that’s a given. They’re going back to the Red Room after all. But that’s not the sole reason for her nervousness. Yelena isn’t the only person she was close with in the Red Room. There was someone else. Someone she had more romantic relationship with, as well as they could have one in an organization that kidnaps and trains girls to be emotionless assassins.
“Is Y/N Y/L/N still in the Red Room?” She breaks the very uncomfortable silence.
Yelena eyes her, taking a shot. “Yes.” Natasha’s face falls and her heart breaks. “Why?”
“Is she under the gas?”
“How do you know her?”
“Just answer the question.”
Yelena rolls her eyes. “Yes.”
Her breath hitches. If the gas is as hard on her as it was on Yelena, she doesn’t know what she’d do. Will she even recognize her? How can she ask for forgiveness not from one, but two people she left at the Red Room.
“She’s one of Dreykov’s favorites.” Melina comments, studying the look on Natasha’s face. “He keeps her close. She was the first one to be tested with everything and got all the most difficult missions.”
Natasha mumbles out some curses. “How do you know her?” Yelena asks again.
“I met her in the Red Room. We had a thing.”
“You had a thing?”
“Yes. We dated, sort of.”
“You dated and then you abandoned her, just like me.” Yelena states. “Great job, сестра.”
Natasha grumbles, ignoring Yelena’s jab at her. She can get her back. She can get Y/N back and destroy the Red Room. Y/N will understand her reasons, maybe they can even be friends again, maybe even something more. Natasha won’t lie, she has missed Y/N very much. She never forgot her, feeling guilty about leaving her. Just like with Yelena. Hopefully she’ll be just as forgiving.
The flying building is falling down, most of the widows are freed, Dreykov’s daughter is chasing Natasha and still no sight of Y/N. Natasha is starting to get desperate. “Does any one have eyes on her?” She yells into the comms all of them except Alexei are wearing. “Isn’t she supposed to be here?”
“Outside.” Is all Yelena can get out before the only thing that can be heard is grunts and sounds of fighting.
Natasha runs to the platform outside as fast as she can. There she sees Yelena fighting someone, a widow, Y/N. “Let me deal with her! You take care of Dreykov’s daughter.” She yells. Yelena gives her a quick nod before giving particularly hard kick to Y/N’s stomach to send her to the ground. She takes a parachute and jumps over the border with Antonia, but not before leaving one tube of the antidote to the ground.
Y/N gets up quickly. She turns to Natasha. For a second, she wishes the younger widow would recognize her, but no luck. Y/N starts running towards her, ready to fight. Natasha keeps dodging all her punches and kicks, not wanting to hurt her. She glances at the antidote. It’s too far away to grab from her spot.
Natasha slides between Y/N’s legs and stands up, crossing Y/N’s arms over her stomach and locking them. “I don’t want to hurt you, детка.”
“Сука.” Y/N spats out, freeing herself from Natasha’s hold and puches her square in the jaw.
“Okay then.” Natasha mumbles.
She starts running towards the tube. However, Y/N stops her halfway. She grabs the back pf her suit and pulls her to the ground. Pieces of metal drop to the ground, the ship going down at a fast pace. It doesn’t matter to Y/N, she only has a one mission. Kill Natasha Romanoff.
Y/N straddles Natasha, lifting up a knife to drive it straight through her heart. Grunting, Natasha takes hold of her wrists, pushing the knife further away from her. “This is really not how I wanted our reunion to go. Besides, I like to be on top.” She switches them around, taking advantage of Y/N’s surprise to throw away the knife.
The two start rolling around. Y/N choking Natasha and Natasha trying to push Y/N away from her without violence, which is harder than supposed to. Suddenly Natasha’s face brightens. Struggling, she takes the vial from under her back and smashes it to the side of Y/N’s head, letting the dust free.
Y/N rolls to the side, coughing. Natasha takes few deep breaths before kneeling up next to her, putting her hand on her back for comfort. “You.” She growls out, slapping Natasha’s hand away. “What are you doing here?” She stands up to step further away from Natasha, her body trembling from effects of the antidote.
Natasha’s hand instinctively goes up to reach Y/N, but she brings it down seeing the angry look on her face. “I’m here to bring down the Red Room. And get you.” Y/N scoffs. “I get it. You hate me. You can do that once we’re down on the ground.” Picking up a parachute, she puts her hand out for Y/N to grab.
Y/N glances over the platform, calculating how far off they are. “I’m not going with you.” She builds up some speed and jumps off.
Natasha gasps, running to the edge to see Y/N falling down with the debris. “Идиот.” She mumbles and jumps after her. Reaching her, she wraps Y/N’s legs around her waist and takes hold of her shoulders after pulling the parachute’s string. “Are you crazy?” Y/N tries to let go of Natasha, but she grabs her legs tightly. “Don’t you dare let go.”
“What are you doing?” Y/N glares at Natasha, not really caring about the fact they’re still high up in the sky.
“I’m trying to save you!”
“I don’t need you to save me!”
Natasha glances down. “Hold on.” She wraps her arms around her waist to prepare for the impact. When the two hit the ground, they roll on the ground before letting go of each other.
Y/N stands up quicker than Natasha as she lacks the parachute clinging on her back. Right when Natasha gets up, Y/N throws a punch to her direction. Natasha mumbles incoherent curses and starts dodging again. The fight doesn’t get too far before Yelena appears from nowhere and tackles Y/N to the ground.
“Let go of me!”
“I’ll let you go when you calm down and atop attacking my sister.” Yelena grunts, holding her hands over her head.
“Yelena, let her go.” Natasha sighs. She watches Yelena give her few unsure glances before letting her go. This time Y/N doesn’t attack. Natasha puts her hand on Yelena’s shoulder. “I’ll deal with this. You go look for Melina and Alexei. Yelena nods and leaves.
“I don’t want to talk to you.” Y/N mumbles. “You need to leave, that’s the only thing you know how to do.”
Natasha frowns. “I left, because I got an opportunity to be better, to wipe the red from my ledger. But not a day went by when I didn’t feel the guilt of leaving you and Yelena behind eat me alive.” She stares at Y/N who looks away to the distance.
“That’s too little too late.” Her voice cracks. She shakes her head, starting to walk away. Natasha doesn’t let her. She wraps her arms around to embrace her. Keeping her tightly against her body even when she tries to push her away. “Let go. I hate you. I hate you.”
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” Natasha holds Y/N’s head against her chest as the younger one starts crying. “I’ll make it right. I promise.” She mumbles to her hair.
“You left me.” Y/N sobs.
“I know.” She shushed, shutting her eyes, promising to herself she’ll never leave Y/N, or Yelena, ever again.

Can you write a Natasha x little!male reader where reader is Natasha’s target because he works for hydra but instead of taking him out she brings him back to the avengers compound and helps him bring his little side back after hydra trained him to repress it
"stay down. STAY DOWN!" Natasha screams at you one last time before she feels you relax beneath her. You groan and push her off you before stumbling to your feet once more, wiping the blood away from your nose and mouth.
"come on widow. Finish your mission" you snarl and she shakes her head, putting her gun away and slowly walking closer to you. "You know I won't do that y/n. Come on. You've known me since I was ten years old. Your the one who taught me English remember? The one who taught me to keep my head up in that hell hole. You think I'm gonna give up on you?"
Finally getting close enough she takes your face into her hands and strokes your cheeks. "You were the only one in that place that made me feel human. Fifteen years of that. I'm not gonna throw that away little one" you clench your jaw and tilt your head to the side in confusion. Something about the name felt so familiar yet you couldn't put your finger on it. When you helped Natasha escape from the KGB you got yourself out aswell. But you weren't as lucky as hydra snapped you up the first chance they got. You hadn't been little for over six years.
"come home with me. Please. We can go back to the way everything was before. No one off the team will judge you. we have three other littles that I'm sure will be over the moon to meet you" she whispers and you close your eyes, feeling memories come back to you all at once. Yours and Nats first kiss, first time, first time slipping Infront of her.
You let out a shaky breath and nod. "I'll come with you" you manage to get out and she smiles wide, pressing a soft kiss to your lips before taking your hand and leading you out to the quinjet where Clint was waiting to fly her back.
"Natasha! What the fuck! You were supposed to-"
"Clint!! Budapesht? Shut up. He's my boyfriend. And my little" Clint's eyes go wide and he gasps. "Wait wait wait. Y/n Dreykov? Like as in-" he takes another deep breath before speaking again. "Does he know about ant-" he's cut off with a kick to the shin and he yelps in pain. He takes the hint and disappears back to the cockpit to fly back to the compound
Sitting beside Natasha you look down at the floor before looking at her. "A-antonia?" You say and she looks at you with an almost sad smile and nods her head. "yes. She's with us now. The taskmaster remains but she's an avenger now" you nod your head and frown. Everything felt so fuzzy and you didn't know what to do.
Staying silent for the rest of the flight you sit close to Natasha with your eyes closed. Once she announced you have arrived you both head inside and she introduced you to everyone, after a stern conversation with fury and a promise that your no longer a threat. When you both get to the common room you let out a gasp that was only audible to Natasha.
Sat on the play mat was Bucky and Wanda playing with their toys dressed in little onesies whilst Peter was cuddled into Tony's chest. Natasha smiles at you and gently rubs your back, as a promise for later before leading you to her bedroom. "This will be your room now too Moya Lyubov" you can't fight the smile that covers your face at the nickname.
Without your control you feel it all hit you at once and burst into tears. Natasha comes over and pulls you into a hug. After about ten minutes you'd finally calmed down and she goes to the closet where shed bought a load of little stuff aswell as big clothes in hopes that she'd get you back one day.
"hey baby boy. Are you gonna let mama get you changed?" She says softly and you blush profusely.
"Natasha-" she cuts you off with a gently stroke to your cheek.
"ah ah, come on little prince. It's okay. You can let go. Mamas here baby. You aren't going anywhere again" she says as she's rubbing your tummy. Something that always made you slip.
"otay mama" you whisper and she smiles wide. after dressing you in a pull-up and a onesie she cuddles up to you on the bed. She plays with you and some toys before noticing you falling asleep.
She holds you in your arms and rocks you until your sound asleep against her chest.
"welcome home baby boy. Mama won't let you go ever again"

Fail-Safe (1)
a/n: hi everyone! Look at me with a new series that I’ll hopefully keep up with! I’ve had this idea in my mind for a while now and i hope someone enjoys it! Thank you for reading!!
tag list: @sunshadesnrainbowz word count: 1.7k
prompt: Dreykov always had a back up plan, a fail safe, in case his empire fell. You grew up with Yelena and Natasha in the Red Room. But unlike your sisters, who became an Avenger or the greatest child assassin respectively, Dreykov had a different purpose for you. Now that he was gone, you were released from your cage - to hunt down the ones responsible for the death of the Red Room.
pairing(s): yelena belova x dark!sister!reader | kate bishop x dark!reader (not romantic) | antonia dreykov x dark!reader
warning(s)/notes: dark!fic | graphic displays of violence | depictions of blood + murder | Y/N is psycho but in a bad bitch way | throwing up | natasha being Y/N’s voice of conscious - in a ghost way | Y/N has a skeleton covered in vibranium + adamantium and gravitonium injections, bc I apparently can’t write a villain!reader who’s not overpowered | Y/N also has super enhanced speed, strength, freaking agility/flexibility | mentions of torture as a child and young adult | black widow movie implied that some black widow assassins are mutants | there’s prolly more tbh
Humming, you walked down the hall, fingers dragging against the wall, leaving streaks of blood to decorate the drab paint. Your steps were exaggerated, large and dancing. You felt the warm drip of blood from the cut on your head, where she was able to nick you. Licking the blood that dripped near your mouth, you chuckled, twirling the machete that had been dragging on the floor in your other hand. You would let her savor that little moment of hers, ignoring the fact you had just woken up from your sleep, you weren’t a total monster.
“Oh, Lana!” You sang out, laughing when you heard her panicked breaths. You paused in front of the double doors, where you saw the shadows of her feet shuffling. Cocking your head to the side, you smiled. Oh how you loved the hunt. You found another entrance to the room, stalking quietly like a cat to your prey. Once inside the room, you silently let your braids fall, your hair surrounding you like a curtain. You loved the dramatic things of your presentation, how your hair fell in front of your eyes, mixing with your blood. How it framed the cut on your scalp, how it accented the crazy look in your eyes. Tightening your grip on the knife, you creeped behind Lana, who was anxiously standing near the other door, waiting for you to come through. You tapped her shoulder, snickering as her body tensed up. She slowly turned around, eyes widening in fear when she saw you. She let out a gasp at the cut she had given you, watching with eyes radiating in alarm as blood stopped trickling, revealing the silver layer beneath your skin. You smirked sickly, the blood that had dripped down your face only adding to your psychotic glare.
“Peek-a-boo.” You whispered, pushing Lana backwards slightly, your strength making her stumble. But before she hit the ground, you swung your machete.
Two thumps on the floor. Blood flooding towards your barefoot feet, the red substance staining your skin. Resuming your humming, you twirled your now dripping knife leisurely, practically swaying out of the room, making your way into the kitchen. After all, you knew better than to kill on an empty stomach.

Kate could barely hold back the vomit building up in her throat. She covered her mouth and turned to walk out the room. Yelena just sat in a blood stained chair, looking at the scene with blank eyes. She had freed Lana almost right before the Snap, before she was gone for five years. She was a young, energetic woman, excited for her future. And now…
Yelena bit her knuckle as she shook her head, tears building in her eyes. She stood up, making her way out the door as the investigators went over the scene. She placed a comforting hand on Kate’s back, who was busy being reintroduced to her breakfast and lunch. When she was finished, Kate stood up, giving Yelena a weak smile before looking behind her at the scene with horror.
“God, who would- who would do something like that?” Voice hoarse from throwing up, Kate swallowed, her muscles constricting as she held back from vomiting once more. Yelena shook her head, still shocked from what she saw. Though the dead body, or the pieces of it, was nasty enough, the two women silently agreed on the most gruesome part. In the kitchen, there was a plate with a half eaten sandwich, made with blood stained hands. Yelena walked over to the plate, seeing a note underneath the porcelain. With steady hands, Yelena grabbed the paper gently, reading the words written in plain black ink.
“Always have a back up plan” is such a boring phrase, don’t you think? Anyways, have fun playing the game - it’s only just begun
See you soon, большая сестра
Yelena crumbled the note in her hand, fear and anger overtaking her. She slammed the fist on the counter, resting her forehead on the closed fist. Kate jumped at the sound, looking at her friend in concern.
“She’s baiting me,” the Russian snarled under her breath, standing up to pace back and forth in the kitchen, “that little-”
Yelena paused in her place, the last two words on the note finally registering. Frantically, she smoothed out the note, reading the last line over and over.
большая сестра
большая сестра
большая сестра
Big sister.
Yelena’s eyes widened as she stumbled backwards, note falling to the floor as she covered her mouth with her hand.
“Oh no…” she whispered, looking at the archer with dread-filled eyes. Kate looked at Yelena in confusion, slightly eyeing the tattered note on the floor.
Yelena just stared at her friend as memories flooded her mind.
Memories of her younger sister being forced into the role of a monster.

No one knew what Dreykov was doing to you. All they saw were your dulled eyes, the fresh wounds on your arms and legs, the tremble in your lips as you were desperate for salvation.
But it never came.
One day, Yelena was called in for a personal meeting with Dreykov. The young woman was rightfully anxious, worried she had done something out of place. Going through her mind, she recalled her past missions, each one ending in success. She had to work extra hard now that Natasha had betrayed the cause. Knocking on the giant doors, Yelena straightened her back out of respect when Dreykov’s voice invited her in.
“Ah, little Yelena, how I look forward to your future.” While he spoke like poisoned vinegar, Yelena only heard sweetened honey. She nodded at her leader, following him when he gestured at her as he walked down a hallway revealed by a scanner on his palm. Yelena took in the dark steel walls, the floor creaking ominously as she walked. Dreykov addressed her as he adjusted the cuffs of his blazer.
“It must be hard, being…sisters with a traitor,” his words sent anger flooding through Yelena, yet for some reason she didn’t know why, “but don’t worry little one, you still have one more for redemption.”
Recognition flickered through the blonde’s mind. Her younger sister, Y/N, had been dragged away years ago, presumed dead by the hands of the very man standing in front of Yelena now. She remembered crying that night, a foreign concept to her now.
Dreykov opened a sliding door, revealing a tub boiling with a mixture of silver and something not quite from earth. With a flick of his fingers, armored guards walked into the room, your limp form being carried by two of them. Yelena’s eyes widened at you being alive, the dotted lines all over your body, like you were about to have surgery. Your tired eyes connected with Yelena’s and you sent her a look she couldn’t interpret. Silently, you were placed in a tub filled with clear water, one next to the vat of boiling metal.
“Sadly, the only way, as my colleagues and i have learned, to control this metal is in it’s liquid form,” Yelena realized Dreykov had been speaking to her, quickly snapping her eyes away from you, “but this girl, she’s perfect for these experiments. She regenerates at a pace that far exceeds the experiment of my colleague and there’s something in her genetics, something…” Yelena didn’t know if she liked the gleam in his eyes, “moldable.”
She didn’t have time to question why the patriarch of the Red Room was being so chatty when he snapped and syringes filled with the metal, entering the water chamber through openings on the side. With fascination, Yelena watched as your skin was pierced and injected with the melted metal. Your screams echoed off the walls as you thrashed underwater.
“Beautiful, isn’t it? Too bad you won’t remember it, little one.”
She barely registered his words before her vision went dark.

You didn’t remember the city, as you were torn from any chances of a future from a young age. But as you strolled down the streets, stolen clothes adorning your body, sipping on a fountain drink, you let yourself get immersed in the false waves of nostalgia. Your sunglasses rested on your head, tangling in your curls. But you didn’t care, the slight discomfort helped you stay focused. Soon, your target caught your eye and you casually made your way over.
A week had passed since the passing of Lana and you were getting bored. No one likes a player who doesn’t follow the rules of the game. Carefully, and as planned, you bumped into the girl, falling back slightly with practiced steps.
“Oh, crap I am so sorry!” Her concerned voice made you want to smirk but you merely smiled.
“It was my fault truly and, oh!” You looked down at your shirt, where the woman’s coffee had split. She looked sheepish, covering her eyes with her hand.
“Oh no it’s fine!” You assured her, waving your hands in the air, “once again, my fault. Let me buy you another?”
The woman laughed before nodding.
“Only if you let me buy you a coffee too, to make up for ruining such a gorgeous blouse.”
Holding out a hand, you introduced yourself, no fake names needed.
“Y/N Vostokoff.”
The woman took your hand like a deer falling into a perfectly placed trap.
“Laura Barton.”

You remembered the first time you were given your orders, the ones that would frame your life. It was as you were placed in a cryochamber, Dreykov walked into the room, the implants in your brain making you listen and obey his every word.
“In the case of my untimely death, I’m going to need a Huntress, someone willing to take out my killers,” he cupped your face, a false sense of fatherhood, “you will be by fail-safe, Y/N. If my empire falls, track down the ones responsible, any method you like, tear them apart - physically, mentally, emotionally, it doesn’t matter. Go after their loved ones, go after their loved ones loved ones. Crumble them to pieces, do you understand?”
As he walked away and frost flooded your vision, your mind latched on to his words, a small smile frozen on your lips as you slept. You only had one thought as you drifted into the cold darkness.
I understand
