WASHINGTON — The Biden administration warned that it could restrict weapons transfers to Israel if the flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip does not increase. 

A letter sent Sunday by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin accused Israel of sharply reducing humanitarian assistance to Gaza Palestinians. The letter also referred to a memorandum President Joe Biden issued in February linking military aid to how the receiving country administers humanitarian relief. 

Israel was not named in the February memo but was widely seen as its target, at a time when the two governments were growing increasingly at odds over Israel’s conduct of the war.

“The amount of assistance entering Gaza in September was the lowest of any month during the past year,” the letter said, noting that the delivery of relief had improved considerably in the weeks immediately following Biden’s warning before decreasing again.

Giving Israel a 30-day deadline, the letter called for allowing in at least 350 trucks of relief a day, up from 69 per day in August, according to aid agencies. The letter also called for allowing people crowded in the coastal zone to move inward and for the removal of restrictions impeding the delivery of aid. The possible consequences outlined in the letter are broad, ranging from a second warning to suspending deliveries of weapons. 

“Failure to demonstrate a sustained commitment to implementing and maintaining these measures may have implications for U.S. policy,” it said, referring to Biden’s national security memo. “Remediation could include actions from refreshing the assurances to suspending any further transfers of defense articles or, as appropriate, defense services.”

Democratic officials have consistently called on Israel to let more aid into Gaza. The letter was sent the same day that Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, tweeted her concern at the slowdown in aid delivery.

“The U.N. reports that no food has entered northern Gaza in nearly 2 weeks,” Harris wrote. “Israel must urgently do more to facilitate the flow of aid to those in need. Civilians must be protected and must have access to food, water, and medicine. International humanitarian law must be respected.”

When weighing in on Israel and Gaza, Harris has sought to straddle competing Democratic constituencies that are both crucial to her election chances: Jewish and pro-Israel voters seeking assurances that she would continue Biden’s overall robust backing for the country in its multi-front war, and progressives and Arab and Muslim Americans and pro-Palestinian activists appalled at Israel’s conduct. She has been campaigning hard in Michigan, a swing state with what is believed to be the country’s largest Arab American population as well as a large Jewish voter base.

The letter outlined a number of obstacles currently impeding humanitarian assistance, including strict customs rules. And it said the vast majority of Gaza’s 2 million residents had been pushed into a small strip stretching from near the border with Egypt to less than halfway into the enclave, which posed additional risks. 

“Extreme overcrowding has put these civilians at high risk of lethal contagion,” it said. “Humanitarian implementers report they are unable to meet essential survival needs of aid-dependent civilians.”

John Kirby, the National Security Council spokesman, said in a press call that the letter “follows a relatively recent decrease in humanitarian assistance reaching the people of Gaza, which is obviously something we’ve been very, very concerned about since the beginning of the conflict,” 

The letter, he said, was spurred by “the sense of urgency that we all have here about the desperate need of the people of Gaza for this humanitarian assistance.” International health officials have long said that Gaza is in a famine or close to it.

Kirby would not predict what the breadth of the consequences would be should Israel be deemed non-compliant, but he reiterated the Biden administration’s commitment to assisting Israel in defending itself from Iran, noting the pending deployment of missile batteries and U.S. troops to Israel. 

The deployment is “very much in keeping with the President’s strong desire that from an air defense perspective, our ally has what they need to defend themselves against, clearly, a very real, present, viable threat by Iran and its proxies,” he said.

An Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive issue, indicated to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that Israel would change its policies in response to the letter.

“The letter has been received and is being thoroughly reviewed by Israeli security officials,” the official said. “Israel takes this matter seriously and intends to address the concerns raised in this letter with our American counterparts.”

But Israel has also consistently denied that it is hindering aid delivery. On Monday, a day after the letter was sent but a day before it was leaked to the press, COGAT, the Israeli agency coordinating the delivery of goods into Gaza, tweeted video of what it said was 30 trucks entering the strip.

“Israel is not preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, with an emphasis on food, into Gaza,” it said.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the premier pro-Israel lobby, said on X that the letter was dangerous.

‘Threatening to cut off American support for Israel as it confronts Iran and its proxies on seven fronts weakens our ally, undermines American interests, and sends a dangerous message to our common enemies about U.S. support for our democratic allies,” AIPAC said in an unusually sharp rebuke to a president.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to crush Hamas in Gaza, even as the military is increasingly focused on fighting Hezbollah in Lebanon. On Monday, the Associated Press reported that Netanyahu was considering a proposal to give Palestinian civilians a week to leave northern Gaza before aid would be cut off entirely. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant reportedly told Austin that the proposal would not be implemented.

“In the last two weeks, the IDF has been conducting a ground operation in northern Gaza to destroy Hamas terrorist infrastructure, which just this week launched rockets from northern Gaza towards civilian populations in Israel,” COGAT said. “Israel will continue to allow the entry of humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza, while simultaneously destroying Hamas’ military and governance infrastructures.”

Kenny Omega's 'Close Friend' Kota Ibushi

As you may have seen Kenny Omega called in his boyfriend to protect him against the Blackpool Combat Club in AEW's third Blood and Guts match on the July 19th episode of AEW Dynamite. And I wish to once again stress that these two are or at least were a queer couple, because commentary made no reference to it calling them 'close friends'.

Now to be fair your bonafide top star being part of the LGBTQ+ community is possibly not the best look for a wrestling company, with wrestling mostly being seen as a masculine thing for straight men throughout the years (well also it's seen as a very homoerotic gay thing just ask EFFY he'll tell you. Like I think that most people imagining a wrestling fan they imagine a man although I'd be interested to see the actual statistics). Although AEW is the company that gave Antony Bowens a beautiful moment of declaring his sexuality on Rampage, so why can't the literal Golden LOVERS be presented as such. It's always funny to me when NJPW or AEW all but say the lovers are queer while announcing them as lovers through a microphone. Now maybe I'm greedy wanting more, I mean hey they're announced as the 'Golden Lovers' and they get to hug a lot so, but I'm not asking for them to dance to the ring to 'It's Raining Men' and have a live sex celebration on a pride flag I just want the shows to acknowledge it even slightly more. Omega and Ibushi have kissed so many times on wrestling shows, their matches are intensely homoerotic and among other things I could mention, Kenny Omega retweeted a tweet thread that repeatedly calls them a couple. So I don't know in my, possibly wrong, opinion calling them 'close friends' with no acknowledgement that it runs so much further than that isn't enough and I want more from AEW in the pair's upcoming weeks.

Also did you know that one of the Lovers' tag moves is a double 450 splash and they called this move the 'Golden Shower' have a nice time with that information.

“You’re always so damn quick,” Maeve says, smiling down at him from her perch on his cock.

“Shut up.” Homelander swallows down the urge to laser her right then and there for looking so amused. Maybe this whole relationship was a mistake. Homelander was insanely attracted to her from the moment he saw her– everything about her, from the way she looked, to how strong and durable she was, and even down to her rebellious personality. He was shocked by it at first, then annoyed by it, but at the same time he couldn’t help admiring how she’d sometimes just talk back to the Vought executives, or refuse to do something when she deemed it pointless or stupid. Before seeing her, it had honestly not occurred to him that he could potentially do that too. When he tried it out with Madelyn she immediately put a stop to it, though. “You’re too old to be copying your girlfriend’s bad behavior,” she said sternly and Homelander nodded but secretly kept admiring whenever Maeve didn’t follow the rules as much as he did.

Maeve never seemed to admire him much, though. He found it confusing. Wasn’t he repeatedly told he was superior to everyone else? It eventually dawned on him that Maeve didn’t necessarily value how easily he could destroy things, or how fast he could fly. She knows more things about the “real world”, she has a sharp sense of humor that he can only try to learn and emulate, and she just cares less about what people think of her, which is an amazing type of strength he hadn’t even considered until meeting her. She is, plain and simple, a much cooler person than he is.

That’s probably how this whole shaky dynamic developed. Two weeks ago he decided to up the stakes from what was a curated, fake PR relationship and ask her out on a real date, and he was so nervous while he asked that he prayed she couldn’t hear his racing, nervous heartbeat like he could hear her steady one. She shrugged and agreed to give it a try, and the same evening they found themselves in his apartment. Things went south from the get-go. She refused to sleep with him in his bed. She didn’t like the mirrors, implied he was weird for putting them there, although she didn’t really explain why. He’s honestly amazed at how good she looks given how little time she seems to spend in front of any mirror. So these two weeks he’s stayed over every night and slept in her bed, and he soon confirmed what he suspected– that even though she’s five years younger than him, she’s had a lot more experience with a lot more people than he did. It irked him and disgusted him a little bit, but she was just too damn attractive to hold it against her. But now he has a chip on his shoulder, and the feeling that he needs to assert himself in bed.

Maeve makes to move off of him, but he clamps down on her legs. “Just fuckin’…. stay there,” he growls.

She rolls her eyes. “You’re gonna try that thing where you come three times without ever pulling out? I’m tired of bouncing around on your cock. If you really want to make it up to me for being a fucking minuteman, why don’t you at least do it using your mouth.”

Homelander grimaces. Eating her out was fine, but something about the idea of encountering his own fluids with his tongue was not to his liking.

“Such a prude,” she says, as if reading his mind from his expression, and he seriously considers getting into a wrestling match with her- the one arena where he’s pretty sure he can overpower her, even if he doesn’t resort to heat vision. But he honestly can’t be sure even about that. She’s deft and quick and maybe he’s underestimating her yet again.

When Maeve makes to move off of his cock again, he grabs her by the waist and pulls her down, more roughly this time because he’s getting frustrated with her.

“Ow!” she whines, but he can tell she’s just being dramatic, rubbing the side of her torso where he grabbed her. “Bastard!” She abruptly reaches down to the side of his body, touching him in a way that makes him jerk and throw her off of himself, because he suddenly feels extremely vulnerable.

“Oh so you do have a weakness!” she says with a note of triumph, grinning as she clambers out of the tangle of sheets he shoved her into.

“What the fuck did you just do to me?” Homelander is rubbing his side, disturbed by whatever sensation that was. Did she find a way to short-circuit his sense of touch somehow?

“What do you mean?” Maeve laughs. When Maeve laughs in the bedroom, he always has to fight down the assumption that she’s making fun of him.

“What did you just do?” he repeats, calming down a little bit.

“You mean– THIS?” she blurts out the last word as her hand descends on his ribs again and starts wiggling them across his skin.

“FUCK.” He rolls away from her, and gathers up the blanket defensively around himself.

“Oh my god. You’re fucking ticklish! I bet no one knows this!”

He blinks at her. He’s heard about tickling and people being ticklish. He’d always assumed it was some bizarre weakness he wasn’t privy to, like being “sleepy” or “depressed”. No one had ever triggered him like this.

“What’s tickling, exactly?” he asks her and immediately regrets it when she bursts out laughing.

“What are you saying? Is this the first time you’ve ever been tickled or something…” She trails off and her smile fades a little bit. “Wait, you seriously have never…”

It’s that familiar feeling where Homelander feels stupid and ignorant and embarrassed that he was apparently raised differently from everyone else. No matter how many times they tell him he’s special and better than all the rest, why is he always in these situations where he’s caught off guard and defensive about not knowing apparently simply things?

“They sure raised you weird,” Maeve says, and her tone is no longer mocking. She scooches closer to him and strokes his face, which is the only thing not under the blanket. “Tickling is just… when you get touched in certain places and you feel uncomfortable and start to laugh.”

“I’ve never felt uncomfortable when I touched my ribs!”

“You can’t tickle yourself. It’s only when someone else touches you.”

“That doesn’t make any sense,” Homelander grumbles, still feeling defensive, but relaxing a little bit. “And why would you laugh if it’s uncomfortable?”

“I don’t know, I’m not an expert. It’s like when you’re… nervous that someone will do something to you. That’s why it can’t just be you doing it to yourself.”

Homelander huffs through his nose and looks up at the ceiling to avoid eye contact.

Maeve sighs. “Look, I’m sorry I laughed, it’s just very strange to hear someone in his late 20s has never been tickled or knows what it feels like. But I get it. You told me. They didn’t really touch you much. That’s pretty sad actually.”

Homelander gets even more uncomfortable hearing what sounds like pity in her voice, and thankfully she seems to notice this and pivots the conversation.

“You want me to… show you?”

“Why would I want to feel uncomfortable?!” Homelander snaps at her.

“Because, it can be enjoyable, I think. We can figure out where you’re ticklish and where you’re not.”

Homelander looks over at her and relents cautiously, unwrapping himself slowly out of the blanket.

She keeps eye contact with him as she strokes her index finger along his chest. “Feel anything?” she asks.

“No?” he says in annoyance, still not quite convinced she’s even talking about the right phenomenon. What he felt when she reached down and touched his ribs was not enjoyable in the slightest. Not something a parent would do to their child.

Her finger travels up to his shoulder.

“No,” he answers her unspoken question.

But then she takes her finger down his body, heading towards the same side ribs she touched and he bucks and squirms away before she even gets there.

“Okay, okay,” she laughs. “I won’t touch you there. See, you’re so ticklish there that I don’t even have to touch you.”

Slowly but surely he lets her explore. Whatever’s happening, he’s probably never seen her be so interested in his body. He can’t take her touching his neck, his armpits, and the middle of his stomach either, but he starts to understand. It’s a bit of a game. And when he trusts her more, he finds himself giving into laughter sometimes. The giggles are embarrassing– high-pitched, like he’s never heard himself sound before. But she doesn’t seem to judge him for it, even seems charmed by him.

“You know, I don’t think I’ve ever heard you laugh before, John,” she says when she’s done with her investigation.

Homelander scoffs. “That can’t be.”

“I’ve heard you make the sound you made just now plenty of times. The ugly mean sarcastic laugh. But never your actual happy or nervous laugh.”

“You think I’m mean?”

“Very.”

“That must be why we get along so well then,” Homelander says. He looks over at her and tries to catch her unawares, but she’s on to what he’s trying to do, faster than him somehow, lightning-quick, her hands grabbing his sides before he has a chance to do it to her, tickling him mercilessly. He can’t gather himself enough to retaliate. He’s writhing and laughing to tears, still trying to be careful not to kick or punch her even as he’s attempting to squirm away, because the tickling is unbearable, and is completely overloading his senses. The loss of control over his own body is intoxicating.

“Maeve… please…Maeve... I can’t…” his words keep getting interrupted by pained laughter, tears actually streaming down his face, but it feels so good to be at her mercy, not to be judged, to have Maeve be so fucking interested in his body all of a sudden. Every time her hand reaches for a new place, he feels like he’s going insane with fear and arousal. At this point, he can’t stand having almost any part of his body touched, even the ones that weren’t sensitive before, like he’s primed for being assaulted and feels the discomfort before her hands even alight on his skin. He’s rolled up to protect his vulnerable front side, but at this point even her touching his back is sending him into convulsions.

Eventually he’s worn out but manages to grab hold of her wrists and hold them far away from his neck and torso. His whole body feels weakened and pliable, like jello, after all the nerve-wracked laughter and squirming, but he somehow enjoys feeling that way. Maeve smiles and cranes her neck to kiss him. But once she pulls back, she moves her head back and forth, the ends of her long red hair dragging across his already overstimulated neck, and he loses it again, throwing her off and scooting away from her. But he’s not disturbed or pouty this time. He enjoys how sweet Maeve’s laughter sounds when they’re playing like this. He’s honestly glad no one’s ever done this to him before. It’s an amazing discovery, and now it’s something he’ll associate with her forever.

Maeve is good at playing flirty games outside of their bedroom too. In the following weeks, she keeps slipping in a touch here and there when no one else around them seems to be paying attention. Homelander tries not to react, tries not to jerk away or make any kind of sound, but it takes all of his restraint. She knows exactly where she can poke him, quickly figuring out how she can inflict torture even through his padded suit.

“You’re on very thin ice,” he hissed at her through gritted teeth after she discreetly reached under the table, so discreetly that he didn’t even notice, and attacked him viciously just above the belt, so viciously that even the padded abs didn’t offer enough protection from her fingers. He bucked away from the table, and Madelyn paused her presentation, looking at both of them quizzically. And yet, despite how embarrassed he is to lose composure, or disrupt Madelyn, or the fact that his suit can barely cover up how much he associates being tickled with sex, Homelander’s on cloud nine. He has a secret relationship that Vought may have planned out for him but never sanctioned as a real thing. And his girlfriend is hot and spontaneous and playful and rebellious. She’s not afraid of him. She has secret jokes with him. He’s giddy with love. He’s probably going to marry her, Vought’s PR assessments of that move be damned.

ok so like. originally seán made a game about the egos that was so successfull that a company that makes movies approached him with an offer to make a movie based on his game

BUT

we all know what seán is doing to these characters now, the anomaly found video and the comics are just the tip of the iceberg. so, let's revamp the actor au!!

(backstory, info about the actors and some headcanons under the cut)

before we properly start: seán is friends with a guy named antony; they started to talk when "jacksepticeye" was created, antony used to help him with some of the editing. so, in this universe, antony was one of the editors along with alice

seán always discussed this story with his editors, and antony was the one that really motivated, gave new stories, reasons, showed how he could make it better, and act better as well!! he's an actor too :]

so, when seán (i'm repeating his name too much sorry) started to change the route of the story and said he wanted something more serious, antony (and a team, ofc) helped him develop Anomaly Found. and for all his help and ideas, seán asked his friend to portray anti from now on. and antony couldn't be more honoured

so, anomaly found happens! seán's chase here like irl. and the comics come out, and much more stuff, etc etc. to give the egos an ending, he decides to make it a movie, but since he couldn't like. act as 5 dudes and at the same time help with production, he decided to hire actors!

Elias jokes he's much more like initial Chase (he watched all the videos about the egos, even if Seán said it's not necessary bc a lot changed) and Ryan's much more like fanon Henrik

Patrick and Ryan are the most serious of the crew, it's hard to get a smile out of them. that doesn't mean they don't enjoy the movie or their company, ofc!

Antony's a dad! his son plays as Chase's kid bc it was the only kid that wasn't scared of Anti's makeup (and the antiaverage shippers of this universe enjoy this fact a lot)

Oliver and George are the ones who unintentionally spoil the most

So, last night Antony Starr shared this on his IG story:

What does this mean? It’s anyone’s guess. Given what he’s shared to his stories recently, I think he’s been going through a really tough time lately. And the whole Mortal Kombat mess didn’t exactly help.

To clarify: Antony made a post on Saturday sharing pictures of him with his dogs. A fan commented asking if he would be voicing Homelander in MK1, to which he simply replied “nope.”

Of course, it’s now all over twitter with tons of news articles about it much to the anger and disappointment of fans. Not only that, but tweeting him directly about it.

I’m not saying this post to his story is in relation to the MK thing, but it does go to show that fans can be the best and worst part of a fandom. There’s still time where he could be brought in to do the voice work, the strikes are now over and the Homelander DLC doesn’t drop till March. We also don’t know the circumstances. He might not even have been asked to do the voice. We simply don’t know, but attacking Antony directly won’t achieve anything. He could also be under a NDA.

There’s now concern over his story post as it just reads like he’s at his wits end with the world, everyone and everything, and I truly don’t blame him. Aren’t we all?

Please, please, please take this as a reminder to be respectful towards actors. We don’t know them and they don’t know us. They aren’t our friends, they don’t owe us anything. And even if it seems like they’re living the good life with fame and fortune, they’re still human just like us. Attacking actors because we don’t get our way does NOT help.

And as an added reminder: Antony wasn’t paid for his Gen V Cameo. He attended set and filmed on his days off. He did it for the fans, as did Karl Urban.

Now again, to clarify: I’m not saying it’s because of fans that Antony made this story post. My point is that attacking him with question after question as to why he isn’t “giving us what we want”, isn’t helping.

I truly hope he’ll be okay and has folk around him to support him. But it sounds like the poor guy just needs his space, and we need to respect and give him that.

Please feel free to delete this ask if you don't feel like answering for any reason, but do you know if Antonie has stated that he's part of or had asked to be part of the restructuring team, or if he's just waiting on a statement like most of us? He shouldn't have had to ask, given the fact that the French got done the dirtiest in this whole mess and deserve to have a say in the changes being made, but between it looking like most of the other ccs have about the same amount info that we do, and seeing rumors that Pierre said on stream yesterday he's been in contact with Pomme's admin and she'll be coming back *when* the other eggs do, not if (though idk how accurate that is, as I both don't speak French and didn't catch the stream, so I'm working off tweets/posts about the comment), I wonder if this is a sign things are seriuously breaking down behind the scenes, or just an instance of things being considered on a need-to-know basis by the team and accidentally making things worse by going radio silent with anyone not explicitly in the team thats trying to fix everything (which is still not a good look, but there's at least a glimmer of hope it could be fixed if they actually wise up and start talking to people)

(Also, I hope this doesn't come off as me trying to discredit anything, if this is truly the final straw for Antonie or any of the other french ccs/team members, I'll be sad to see them go but glad they're finally informed of the situatiom and confident enough to be loud about it and publicly draw a line after all the abuse they've unjustly had to put up with, both within the team and from the qsmp community at large just being terrible, and I hope they get the restitution they deserve.)

All I know from antoine’s stream is that right before Lea went public, the french ccs had seen a file she made detailing the various issues and were planning in return to send a long letter to Quackity to share their concerns. Didn’t do it because she spoke up before that but they were still planning to talk with Quackity about it (this was from his stream two weeks ago idk how things are now, he only said today that he had no update and things weren’t looking bright)

I have no idea how involved he or any other cc is right now with the process but since he did say very publicly that unless he was shown concrete proof of positive change he would never come back to the server made me assume they would update him a bit ?

I can’t speculate about what’s going on but idk shit lmao just that so far there has been very few green flags. I know it takes time to make such big changes but when the first step they take doesn’t seem promising u kinda have to worry

The play was written by Tom Ratcliffe who is friends with Freddy - he was at Oxford Drama School with Freddy, as well as starring in "The Wars of the Roses" (Rose Theatre) with him in 2015.

CIRCA was first performed as a sell-out research & development showing at the Old Red Lion Theatre, Islington in November 2015. After that a crowdfunding campaign was started to raise money for putting on the world premiere of the play in Amsterdam.

10 minutes of CIRCA were also performed as part of Wildcard Theatre's Christmas fundraiser December 1st 2015, with Freddy playing The First Love and Tom Ratcliffe playing The Young Man, and Jamie Jackson directing. Photographer: Ali Wright

The Amsterdam performance happened 8th January 2016 as part of Festival Contact at the Theater de Meervaart. The play ran June 21st-25th, directed by Joe Allan, performed at The VAULTS, Waterloo. As mentioned by a londontheatre1, the actors changed into dark clothes to double up as stagehands like in pic 5. As far as I can tell there's no public recordings of the play, just a very brief insta reel of applause for one of the shows.

CIRCA had another run in March 2019 - for 4 weeks this time - again at The Old Red Lion Theatre, with a smaller cast of 5: Antony Gabriel, Daniel Abelson, Jenna Fincken, Joseph Rowe, and Thomas Flynn. Maybe CIRCA will return sometime potentially but it seems unlikely it would be with Freddy again. I very much wish I could see it tbh but I'll probably have to satisfy myself buying the script sometime.

Match Review: Fenerbahçe 1-1 Manchester United

Boring. A point away in Europe isn't a bad thing, but that was another winnable game for United that we didn't win.

This one's gonna be tweet heavy for the good and the bad because ugh, it was such a weird, weird match.

United's issue in the first half was a lack of possession, but the goal was a great bit of play from the lads; Ugarte was very strong off-the-ball and decent on it. He won the ball back, counter attack kicked on through Mazraoui, then in to Zirkzee, teed to Eriksen, bosh. 1-0.

United's problem is the lack of goals, which in turn is affecting confidence and thus killing the feel of form. Zirkzee is very creative and clearly a decent footballer, but he's not the predatory striker we need leading the line and he might not be Premier League quality.

Actually, what Mina says below is quite apt: our playstyle, two cut-in style wing forwards, doesn't really get the best out of Joshua.

United pushed for a second but that lasted about three minutes and then we just let Fenerbahce pile on the pressure. Yet again, Andre Onana pulled out a mega, mega save (2 mega for 2 saves) to keep United in the lead going into the break - and it kinda broke Jose.

The break came and went and WOULDN'T YOU BELIEVE IT we conceded a stupid goal; a cross coming over both Lindelof and Martinez and neither in a position to jump/jostle/intecept. Awesome.

The issue there is a management one; Maguire, De Ligt, Evans, Varane before, even Yoro the kid... all quite tall, all of use aerially. Martinez was the wrong side of the striker and Lindelof was the right side but is like an inch taller than Lissandro. And bad in the air.

In fairness to Erik Ten Hag, he did sub on Hojlund for Zirkzee and Casemiro for Lindelof. Attack minded, showing good intent. The problem is that he then took off Rashford a little later for Antony.

Antony then lasted around five minutes before getting crocked and stretchered off. More news on his condition tomorrow. Here's hoping it's a long absence...

In the meantime, United finished out a drab ending to a game with a lot of promise - one that could have been great for our confidence. Beating a Mourinho side is never easy, but this wasn't a vintage Jose team. Not yet, at least.

Props go to Andre Onana, who is in great form, but also to Ugarte, De Ligt and Martinez, who had solid games. Most of the remaining players were so so, but Garnacho and Dalot were poor.

Performances can be an issue, but regardless, ETH's tenure continues to be on a knife edge. I like the guy, and I think we're seeing better defending and pressing now he's got majority his own squad, but his approach leaves a lot to be desired in terms of turning pressure or possession into goals. Maybe with the Harry Kane he wanted it's different, but he hasn't got him so you adapt. There were other fox-in-the-box type strikers available instead of bagging Zirkzee if you wanted that.

United feel toothless and vulnerable, and it's no surprise the players are reflecting that. Maybe a LB actually at LB will help unlock the LW and thus the RW. Maybe they'll put more crosses in and aid the strikers. Maybe it won't matter and we're just a bit shit.
