Friendships That Last | Antoine & Eva (flashback)
When Mr. Hart paired the students together in order to prepare a creative presentation on one of the most influential characters during the Revolutionary War Eva truly hoped it’ll be one of her friends or at least someone she’s familiar with, but the man decided to set her up with Antoine Cohen, accompanied with a sassy remark, “maybe you’ll learn something from him”. The boy was probably the smartest pupil in the grade but they weren’t familiar with each other at all, nevertheless she figured it’s a nice way to meet new friends. As the teacher cleared the remaining 30 minutes of the class so that the pairs could plan their assignment, the girl packed her bag and headed towards the boy who sat alone and took a sit beside him. “Hey.” She smiled widely at him, brushing her fingers through her shoulder length, dark hair. “Looks like we’re partners.” She said, “This task is way to broad in my opinion but we’ll find something, I’m sure. Any ideas?”

Eva gleefully marched towards Antoine's house, fortunately they lived pretty close to one another. She was excited about a chance to get a good grade on the assignment and even more excited about making a new friend; true, the boy was a huge nerd but he was also smarter than most and rather funny. Besides, they seemed to be on the same page, which didn't happen often; she had many friendships, but they were superficial ones, whilst Antoine and her truly clicked. As she stepped near the door, she knocked on it, trying to not make so much noise but still trying to get heard. "Antoine? It's Eva. Open up!"

Eva shrugged her shoulders, "Not new in this neighborhood at all, but in this school." She explained, "If you'd ask the countless of Catholic schools I've attended, they'd say I'm the student from hell." She chuckled lightly; being expelled from nine institutions isn't a joking matter, but she still found it quite amusing. "That's not even being a bad student, that's being downright mean." She frowned, "Poor guy, I'd die if someone pantsed me in class." She shuddered, moving a few strands of curly hair from her face. "God I wish I could do that. I envy people like you." She sighed. "We could! That sounds great. Maybe one of us can be in favor of him and the other will just roast that guy till he's fried chicken." She laughed. "No way! You gotta show me."
