Bad Girls and Bad Guys: Double Standarts
Why does male villains get amazing redemption arcs, but female villains not?
They can do whatever they want and still be loved and get the girl, while female villains just get villanfy more and more and don't get the guy in the end. Why is this called "feminist"? Men and women should be treated equally, but when you made redemption arc for a bad guys, while villanfy bad girls for the same reason sorry to say it but it is a internalized misogyny.
This could be said in the TVD and TO: Klaus getting a spin off and being a love interest by two sweet women and Damon getting loved by Elena, while Katherine and Aurora didn't get a redemption arc or a love story to make them get a redemption.
If you want to not make a double standart of gender, be careful of it, look behind if you don't villanfy one gender for doing the same things that another does and still get a redemption arc, or have a counterpart to make 50/50 like Once Upon a Time's universe (Rumple, Hook, Regina and Zelena redeemed, while Gothel, Jafar and Hades not), Buffy/Angel (Angel, Spike, Anya and Faith redeemed, while Drusilla and Mayor not), or Grimm (Adalind, Juliet and Rernard redeemed, while some villains not).
