#antishippers in the batman fandom are especially fascinating to me#and im not. im not getting into shipcourse again. im not#but like. particularly the ones that are anti-batcest#like. like. just out of curiosity. just. just so i know#do you have like. like any knowledge on why the hayes code was put into affect and it's associated moral panics happened#do you have any knowledge on what place batman and robin hold in queer history. do you have. an inkling why their relationship#got people trying to ban the comics.#hint. it is because batman and robin are super fucking gay. im sorry#but like... getting mad at people; for shipping them. it's. its so ironic#queer labels in your bio but no knowledge on how we got here#like; yes; in modern comics they have a distinctly father/son relationship. but can we be honest#can we acknowledge that part of the reason DC was so insistent that they were familial was because they've been historically terrified#of people reading Batman and Robin as gay. can we just acknowledge that#they've had that subtext. it's not there anymore; and part of the reason is because of homophobia. can you blame people for looking for it?#rue rants
