I think it's funny how everyone thinks their favs are the only characters that get criticized. And of course, if I'm looking at the philoise tag, that's where the critics against Philip are going to appear. But go to the Benophie tag and some people are really angry with him. And usually, the response is "well, x did this shitty thing, but y did this shitty thing". I block anyone who participates in a ship war. It's honestly a bit ridiculous and I think that's why stan culture is so toxic. We don't have to pretend our favorite character is morally perfect to love them. But to these people, it's like impossible. And we shouldn't also be exaggerating other characters' mistakes to throw dirt at them.

Another thing is that I don't think any of the male protagonists in Bridgerton are bad people, they just make pretty huge mistakes. But all of them have moments where they shine and are quite fantastic.

it's super weird because we're talking about fictional characters it's not that deep. But I do think that when you are into something so passionately that it becomes part of your identity it's hard not to feel attacked by an opposing ship.

As for me I've shipped some very reprehensible stuff. Some of my problematic faves have made even me, wonder about my own moral fiber. If my mother was allowed to judge me on the basis of what characters I've liked in my lifetime she would be asking if I'm also the kind of lunatic who sends Love letters to serial killers in prison.

But I live by the philosophy of ship and let ship. Everyone is allowed to like whatever they want because fandom is where you go to find sparks of joy when the rest of real life is too much to deal with. Just laughing again at the nonsensical theories that Philoises have for Phillip and Eloise meeting together. None of them involve Eloise's politics in any way, shape, or form. Also there was mention of Penelope and Colin matchmaking Philoise? The same Penelope that caused Marina to nearly kill herself and her babies? Nah, Penelope doesn't give a fuck about Phillip or the twins. In fact neither does Colin by the "happy wife happy life" postulate. He didn't invite Phillip to his wedding. Typically one invites friends to wedding, but not Phillip? I feel as if Philoises need to realize that Phillip and Colin are NOT close friends. Does anyone else think it's hilarious whenever Philoise fan art makes CF/Phillip look over 6 feet tall when he's only 5'10? Look I'm not height bashing, I just am intrigued. Because I feel deep in their minds that they hate CF's height so they draw a fantasy world in which he's over 6 feet. I mean they should just ship Theloise at this point if they are being this vain about height. As Calam Lynch is 6'2. Also, I don't see this behavior from either Kanthonies or Benophies. To many people compare Theloise to Sybil/Tom while they are similar Theloise is also a second chance romance. That trope is insanely popular just like Enemies to Lovers and Friends to Lovers. You know what isn't popular anymore? The manic pixie dream girl. This trope found its heyday from the 1990s to the 2000s. It is basically an outdated trope but one that Philoises are fond of. Begging for their season to flop.

Also this person pretends to like Eloise's political arc. She doesn't care that her happy place is in Bloomsbury just that she is a plot device for Phillip and the twins to be happy. Even though they all are happy with Marina currently. Killing her off to make Oliver and Amanda twins is just too cruel.

And the fucking stress on letters! SIR PHILLIP THREW ALL THEIR LETTERS AWAY IN TSPWL! Besides the rape and child abuse, that action irredeemed himself in my eyes. Am I missing something? Doesn't Phillip disparage Eloise regularly? Or is telling her to use her mouth for better purposes empowering her? I also like that even Philoises know how much their book is shit. Meaning the only good scene in that blasted book is ABCG beating up Philip. Which actually doesn't make sense on the show. Like they brag about Colin and Philip being friends right? Then why wouldn't Colin prevent his friend from being beat up? True friends don't do that!

Now Theo being the victim of ABCG makes more sense. Even when he owns his printing business and house, he's still not from the Ton. As such, it would be VERY scandalous for Eloise to be meeting up with Theo at his house. Which would obviously anger Anthony the most. Benedict it depends if he knows Theo or not. Colin just misses Penelope. And Gregory initially wanted to join in their search to prove he's a man but he later regretted it.

Another piece of evidence that corroborates their lack of brain capacity is the OP stressing on book canon. Like Julia Quinn doesn't work for the show. I have no idea how many times do people have to explain it but SHE DOESN'T WORK FOR THE SHOW! Philoises say that she was okay with Franchaela but do they really think that if she was actually against it, that Jess Brownell and Shonda Rhimes would have listened? NO! Also! There is a reason why Julia Quinn stresses that there is NO BOOK ENDGAME stipulation! That's why we have Michaela, when the book is called When He Was Wicked. Now they'll probably make it When They Were Wicked or When She Was Wicked. Same premise with Theloise, they can just reuse one of her earlier names for TSPWL such as The Importance of Being Eloise or Eloise Bridgerton, Wherever I May Find Her.

Either way, we don't know Netflix and Shondaland's plans for Eloise's endgame. But I must state that whichever ship is perceived to gain more awards nominations, resonate with the audience, get more subscriptions, and of course get amazing ratings to the one to be picked. Which as of right now, Theloise is the better option for these parameters.
