listen I know pretty little liars has been off air for like six years and I should probably stop letting this bother me, but I genuinely cannot get over the fact that they forced aria to marry her teacher and STALKER. their relationship is already disgusting enough before the season 4 reveal, but it’s only made worse by the fact that ezra was following around and exploiting multiple teenage girls. that man should be in JAIL. alex drake should have finished the job when she hit him over the head with that rock.

the thing about most aria hate is that when people are describing what they don’t like about her they are often actually describing indicators that she is literally being groomed. “she’s pretentious and has a need to see herself as more mature and cultured than her peers” yeah! that’s why she’s such an easy target for ezra when they first meet and he’s pursuing her for his book! “she’s disconnected from the rest of the liars” yeah! groomers/abusers often isolate their victims!!! “she protects ezra when she shouldn’t” yeah!! she has been conditioned to do this! “she barely seems to exist or have an identity outside of her relationship with ezra” YEAH!!!! an adult man, her TEACHER, pursued her knowing exactly how old she was when she was just sixteen and utterly consumed her identity. Isn’t That Alarming To You.

It breaks my heart how surprised and happy Aria was in 4x11 about how easy it was to go out with Jake and how she had the time of her life at the dance...and then Ez*a just had to drag her back into the darkness with him. By every rewatch I loathe him more and more.

Them deciding not to have Ezria adopt the baby is wonderful. I was so irritated and confused by that decision last season. God bless.

Growing up is realizing how out of pocket we were for shipping Ezria….

I will never forgive Pretty Little Liars and Teen Wolf to an extent for how they literally showed fucking teenagers that it is okay for adults to want to date you.

The way Ezria was so normalised and developed in that show was such a fundamental issue that resulted in so many people of my age believing that shit like that is okay. That not only an adult can date you but also one who is partially responsible for your education and growth.

The same way people tried to rationalise Sterek and the show even made so many fucking jocks about it when the reality was that Derek was a fucking adult weirdly following these kids.

The damage that Ezria and Sterek have done to not only shipping but also the this age discourse is so huge that I can never bring myself to watch Teen Wolf or Pretty Little Liars again.

My generation (early to late 20s) who watched this was also the first one truly to have access to the Internet where we were always warned about how easy it is for predators on there yet multiple fucking show I can remember encouraged these weird age gap relationship, this whole "Because the actors are all adults, we will somehow act like it is okay for 16-year olds to date like mid 20s dudes" dynamic.

It is sickening to represent relationships like that, to encourage those to an audience that is predominantly fucking teenagers. To people who are already such a vulnerable group and questioning their feelings. To the exact group that is so easy to fall into this because they are the most vulnerable.

All the fucking fans who defend that shit are weird too but as fucking adults to willingly encourage those ships, to agree to them is something completely different and as actors to even participate in shit like that will never sit right with me.

I will never forgive the shows who did this but I only listed PLL and Teen Wolf as those are the ones that were big in my personal circles at that time.

Aria was never my fave but she's the only one I would watch a spin-off about if it was about Ezra getting MeToo'd and Aria finding out her husband has found a new teenager to prey on and going through the whole painful process of realizing she was groomed and there was nothing romantic about her relationship ever.
